Natsu ran as fast as he could through the streets. He was hoping that Erza wouldn't be mad, better yet, he hoped she wasn't there yet. He woke up late that morning, he was suppose to meet the others by now. ' Quick Natsu! Think! Come up with an excuse so she doesn't kill you! Wait, don't think, that's not like me argh!' When Natsu made it to the store, Erza, Leve, Lucy , Gray , Gajeel and Jellal were standing there waiting. When Natsu stopped and stood directly behind Lucy hoping Erza wouldn't notice he just made it. But she did noticed. She glared and walked over to him. Lucy sidestepped so Erza could be in front of him.
" Where were you? I told you to be here on time!"
" Uh..." Natsu said the first thing that came to his mind, " I was hungry..." Lucy brought a hand to her face. Erza smacked Natsu upside the head. Gray and Gajeel snickered. Natsu sighed.
" Now, lets go." Erza said walking into the store.
" Hey Lucy, why is Erza picking what we have to wear anyway?" Natsu whispered, hoping that Erza won't hear him.
Lucy shrugged, " I guess you can say, she expects you all to be wearing something appropriate for dancing. But mostly Jellal." She laughed.
Natsu glanced at his blue haired friend who was currently staring at Erza. " oh."
" So then we're just getting regular black suits right, why tag along?" Gray asked the girls, " We can just get it ourselves." Erza turned around meeting Jellal's gaze before turning to Gray.
" I want to make sure you boys don't cause the stores any problems." That was mostly likely true. If the girls weren't tagging along, the boys would likely give the store owners heart attacks. Lucy could imagine it now. Natsu running around complaining, getting into fights with the other boys, leading to them destroying stuff. Managers crazy with rage. Lucy laughed lightly.
" Erza?" Jellal walked over dumping some random clothes on the counter.
" Yes?"
" Um... So what time do you want me to get you? For the dance I mean." Erza thought for a moment.
" How about 20 minutes before it starts."
" 10:30 then?" Erza nodded in agreement. They watched as the rest of the boys came back with their clothes. Natsu arguing with Gray, Gajeel walking behind them, trying to ignore their bickering.
" You annoying piece of-!" Gajeel yelled punching both of them causing them both to fall. Erza walked up to them glaring.
" Fighting again?"
" N-no!" Natsu and Gray stood up immediately, rushing over to the cashier.
Natsu was walking Lucy home. They had just left Erza and the others. Lucy hummed as she walked along side the little river, Natsu walked next to her, holding her hand in his. The sun was setting, the sky turning a pretty purple and pink, much like a painting.
Natsu squeezed Lucy's hand, "Lucy?"
Lucy simply 'hummed' a response.
" You remember that time... when Zancrow kidnapped you? And... and how I said I like you?" Lucy stopped walking and glanced at him smiling.
" Yes,"
" Well... " 'Dammit Natsu just say it! You know you've been wanting to say it!' Natsu screamed in his mind, " Iloveyou!" Natsu blurted rather fast. He felt his face turn at least 5 shades of red. Lucy blinked.
" W-what?"
" I love you Lucy. I've loved you for a while now. Even then... " Natsu trailed off looking up at the now dark sky, not really sure what to say.
" Why?" She asked.
" Why what?"
" Why do you love me?"
" Because your beautiful, nice, a little weird... Because your you." Lucy laughed.
" Weird? Me? I think your far more weirder than I am. Your an idiot," She laughed again. She sighed, " But... you're my idiot." She whispered, " Actually, I love you too Natsu. I reallly do. I haven't been thinking about it I remember when we kissed, the time that you danced with me. " Lucy looked up seeing the pink haired teenagers eyes widen a smile stretching across his face.
" I'm glad I met you," Natsu said, as they continued walking down the path to Lucy's apartment. Natsu looked around, the path to Lucy's apartment seemed a little different. " Luce, where are we?"
" I was thinking to visit my father-"
" Your father? The one that disowned you? Lucy, is that even a good idea? " Lucy smiled.
" I want to say a proper good-bye. Then we can leave." Natsu nodded, opening his mouth to say something but Lucy cut him off, knowing full well what he was going to say, " Yes, you're coming with me."
Lucy arrived at a small building. She glanced at Natsu and nodded. Looking back at the slip of paper in her hand her father gave her months ago. This was where he worked, where he stayed. She took a deep breath and walked in, Natsu following slowly behind her. She walked over to the front desk, the lady there looked up and smiled.
" Hello there, how may I help you?" She asked ever so politely.
" I'm looking for Jude Heartfilia, is he here?" Lucy asked. She wasn't exactly excited to see her father. She just needed to let him know that he was out of her life. So she didn't have to worry anymore. Now that Daren chose not to follow his parents orders, she was pretty much free from the arranged marriage.
" Yes, he's up in his office right now actually. You can find the room if you take that hall to the right, turn left and it should be three doors down." Should be. She said it like it could disappear any minute. Natsu grabbed her hand and grinned.
" Thanks," Lucy said before walking down the hall, still holding Natsu's hand. When they reached the door Lucy stopped and stared.
" Do you want me to wait out here?" Natsu asked, not wanting to get in the way between her and her father. Actually he wanted to go with her and make sure the bastard won't hurt her in anyway, physically or tugged his hand.
" You can come in." She smiled. Natsu opened the door, allowing Lucy to walk in first as he followed behind shutting the door. A man with blonde hair sat behind a desk looking at a stack of papers. He looked up, seeing Lucy he dropped the pen in his hand.
" L-Lucy."
" Father." Lucy nodded. Natsu squeezed her hand again, " I came by to say good-bye. It's about time I lived my life the way I want. Daren decided not to marry me like his parents wanted. So there is no marriage to look forward to. I wanted to let you know that you won't be seeing me any time soon. Not ever, considering. What you did, saying I had to marry someone I didn't like, barley even knew, that hurt. Why would you choose someone I have to marry, when you yourself got to choose the person you loved? Does that seem fair to you?" Lucy asked. Jude looked down at his papers.
" Lucy, I understand that what I said was wrong. I should never have decided that. When your mother died I decided that the only way to keep my mind off her was to work. I didn't even bother to speak to you."
' I guess spending your time in a normal room, with normal people. Loosing all your wealth, had finally got you thinking huh? I didn't think it was possible...but he has changed. Maybe a little. Though I can never forgive him. The way he acted towards me. He was so cold hearted.' Lucy thought.
" I had all this time to think about it." Jude continued, " I'm not asking you to forgive me, in fact I know you won't. I just wanted to let you know that I'm sorry. Sorry for all those years."
" You're right, I won't forgive you. It's been a long time since mother died, and you now only just realized it. If you truly are sorry, then move on and start over. Forget what happened in the past, but never forget what it taught you. Maybe when you completely change, we can start over, as a family. Not as enemies." Lucy said.
Jude nodded, " I understand."
" Oh and Father. This, is my boyfriend, Natsu Dragneel. Someone I actually love," Lucy gestured to Natsu who's jaw dropped.
" B-boyfriend?" Natsu stuttered.
" Well you do love me don't you?" Natsu smiled.
" Of course I do." Natsu laughed, " I just didn't think you'd actually want me as your boyfriend."
" Well now you know." Lucy giggled forgetting her father was still there. " Well, then I guess this is good-bye." Lucy turned around dragging Natsu with her, waving a hand in the air hoping her father was still looking. She smiled to herself. Seeing her father now, how he actually managed to change, she thought she was going to cry. But not the tears of sadness, no, Lucy cried in joy. After years of a cold hearted father, he finally changed. She wanted to hug him, she missed the time with her mother, when she was alive he was kind, when she died, he was like stone. And now he was turning back to the father she once knew.
Natsu hugged her, noticing her tears. He was happy that she was happy. That she made amends with her father. Glad that her father didn't say anything to hurt her. Glad that he was her boyfriend. And especially glad he met her in the first place. Because if he didn't, he was sure his life would have been dull. When she came his life became an adventure. One he would never forget.
" Well then, shall we go back to your place?" He asked releasing the blonde. She nodded rubbing her eyes, smiling. He grabbed her hand leaving the place, and walked back to her apartment. Where he ended up staying for the night. Taking Lucy's bed. Lucy smiled,
" Thank you, " She whispered.
This is not the end!
I'm planning on ending this right after the dance. Maybe another 2 chapters. I'm not sure how to end it. I'm sorry for taking so long, and I'm sorry if this is shorter than you might have wanted. I'm glad that everyone likes this story. Sadly there won't be any RoWen. Thank you to all the people who reviewed, favorited, and followed this story. You guys make me happy, knowing that there are people who actually like my story.
As some of you know already from my first story I ever made, I'm not that good with Romance, so I'm sorry if it isn't really good. Fights are another thing I'm not good at. Its mostly getting it into words that's hard picturing it is a whole different story XD. Anyway until the next chapter,
Oh and before I forget. I have a poll up. None of my stories I put there are complete. If you read my other stories, I'd like to know which one you like best. From there I'll make a story like it. This one is a school themed type. My other is the princess type, and my last one is like a regular fairy tail type story. I'd like to know which type you guys like.
