Will You Be Mine forever?

A one-shot

Ginny Weasley awoke to a bright and sunny day. Birds twittered outside in the orchard. Even the Holyhead Harpies poster by her bedside looked brighter. Today was a very important day for Ginny…and her special someone, even if he didn't know it.

The youngest Weasley child walked down stairs, actually it maw more like running, but still. Molly Weasley was using her wand to drizzle syrup over a pile of pancakes. "Oh, hello sweetheart. How are you this morning?" Mrs. Weasley asked her daughter, looking up from the hotcakes.

"I'm perfectly fine. Everything is glorious." Ginny answered, smiling, as she pulled her red hair into a ponytail. It was June of 1999. Ginny had graduated form Hogwarts Academy only 2 weeks before.

"Well, I'm glad your so happy…" Molly answered, slightly confused. Her daughter was almost always happy, but today, she was especially happy. But now was not the time to worry… "Sweetie, would you like a pancake?" she asked as her daughter headed for the door.

""Um, yea, just one. Do you know where Harry is, Mom?" Ginny asked, as she walked over and levitated a waffle onto a plate.

"Um, yes, I believe he went out to the garden, why do you ask?" Mrs. Weasley questioned, she knew of the relationship between Ginny and Harry, they had sent letters to one another all year, but she didn't want to hint.

"No reason, thanks though!" Ginny said as she trotted out the door chomping on her waffle.

The sun was warm and butterflies flitted all around. As Ginny had expected, she found Harry in the orchard under a tree, reading. She sat down next to him and pecked him on the cheek. "Hello Harry! I'd like to talk to you."

"Go ahead, Gin! I'm all yours!" he said, not looking up from the book.

"No, I mean, I really need to talk to you. It's…important." This time, Harry looked up.

In about half a second, Ginny knew she's gotten Harry's full attention. A bee buzzed by her head. The sun shined hotly on her back. She had to do this. I've got to do it. This is my chance. It's now or never, she thought. Taking a deep breath, Ginny Weasley began.

"Harry James Potter, I have loved you since the first time I met you. When you saved me from Tom Riddle, my love grew yet stronger. In my 5th year, when you and I were together, was the happiest time of my life. I know that you feel the same way about me that I feel about you. I love you Harry, and I always will. So will you, please, please, pretty please with a cherry on top, marry me?"

Harry looked taken aback. He hadn't expected this. Quickly though, it sunk in, a broad grin broke out on his face, then slowly, he said "I will." Harry stood up, took Ginny into his arms and twirled her around the orchard.

"I will be yours forever." Harry whispered quietly in Ginny's ear, and they kissed.

When they were finished, Ginny whispered back, "Good, because otherwise I would have put a Bat-Bogey hex on you."

They both laughed.
