Chapter 32: Having the Time Of My Life
What seems to be like hours, Inuyasha and Kagome head to the boardwalk outside of the city. It's a good thing that everyone is having a fun time and some of them don't mind having other creatures around. They get out of the car and walk along the path. Looking around, Kagome is fascinated with all the shops and stalls. Even the food aromas are getting the best of Kagome's senses. As she is about to bolt to the source, Inuyasha grabs her arm quickly. "Take it easy. You still haven't mastered your senses." He said to her as they walk along the boardwalk. Hearing that made her pout, "Oh come on. I just can't help with it." She responds to him with her pouty look. Inuyasha chuckles and takes her hand. "You know, I find you adorable when you're like that." He comments her posture. It would appear that Inuyasha really likes any mode she'd be in, not matter what. His comment embarrasses her, and she looks away with her nose upward. 'who does he think he is? God?' She thought to herself, mistakenly telling it to him in through their minds. 'How foolish can you be, Kagome?' Inuyasha thought back to her. Getting that mad her feel more embarrassed than before. "Could there be times that you didn't read my mind?" She asks him as they walk down aimlessly along the boardwalk. "Nope, once mated, are minds are one in the same. So no matter how hard you try, I'll know what you're think and vice versa." Inuyasha chuckles as he holds her hand into his own.
Hearing that made her embarrassment look to a blush look on her face. "Enough." She playfully punches his arm. Even from the impact, Inuyasha felt nothing. "you're gonna have to do better than just punch me in the arm." He huskily said to her as he grasps his hold tighter. "Well then, we might as well do something to pass the time." She replies to him as she looks around. "And what is it that you wanna do?" He asks her, lifting his brow. "I just want us to have a great time here at the boardwalk, just with you." She responded to him, leaning onto him. Inuyasha couldn't help but smile down to her and wraps his arm around her waist this time. "Well then, we might as well do it." He said back to her as they begin their time.
The first thing they did is to play some games. Easy for Inuyasha since he won at every single one against to Kagome. Nonetheless he won the prizes just for her. The prizes included big stuffed animals, and some candy bags from random candy machines outside of some restaurants. Just when they had enough, they head back to the car, putting the prizes into the trunk. "We're not done yet, Kagome." Inuyasha stopped her from getting into the car. "Why? I though we were finished out time at the boardwalk. Did we miss something?" She asks him as she closes the passenger door. "We need to go for a walk on the shore." Inuyasha answers her question with a cocky grin. Catching that look, got Kagome a look of her own. "Oh no. You're not gonna do what I think you're gonna do to me." She backs away from the car door and bolts like crazy. Thankfully, she's way faster than she was as a human. However, she still can't handle how to run properly, and it costs her to be gained by Inuyasha who chases her.
The sunset on the shore while the waves crash onto the sandy beaches. Kagome leaving her foot prints in the sand being washed away from the upcoming tides. Inuyasha couldn't help but to constantly chase her, even if he does outruns her. Kagome keeps on running as the tides get closer to the dunes ahead of them. Having her feet in the ocean water feels good to her feet, but also slows her down. Seeing this gives Inuyasha the chance to grab her from behind. "Gotcha, Kagome." He huskily said to her. He didn't even cared if the waves covered his feet. All that matters to him is having his mate in his arms, safe and sound. "You sure did." Kagome snuggles in his embrace and watches the sunset colors into the ocean sky.
Inuyasha gets to higher ground and sits on a large boulder. "I just can't believe how much has changed ever since I came here." Kagome said to him. Inuyasha simply agrees with his chin on her head. "I know, and it was all because of what my demon side told me." He replies. She doesn't have to say anything else to continue on. It's all fresh in their minds of the memories they met, Inuyasha's determination to protect her from any threats that came across their paths, and helping Kagome recover from her father's death. "If it weren't for you to be there, I don't know what I'd do to resume my life." Kagome reasons her appearance here. Inuyasha shift Kagome's position and have her side across his lap and his one arm supporting her back. "If it weren't for me, who else would you turn to?" He responds as he pressed his forehead onto hers. "I thought my family for one would be good enough, but it turns out I needed someone who I can trust to keep me from going back to a miserably state I was once was." She replies to him. "And that's exactly why I'm here. You're my mate and that's all that matters to the both of us." He said before they caresses kiss.
Outside of their hearing distance, Inutaishou, Izayoi and Ai watched them from the other end of the boardwalk, just to be on the safe side. They knew better not to disrupt a mated pair quality time. "I can't believe that Kagome has Inuyasha as a mate. And I'm just glad that the entire school handled her ordeal." Ai said with a smile on her face. Izayoi nods, "I agree, and everyone must accept for who they are, and not what they are." Inutaishou joins in with his smile. "I have to admit, that giving that speech really told those the students about bullying 101. I just hope they learned their lesson." He explains his speech to the school. Izayoi nods, "Let's see how this goes tomorrow. I just hope they took it very seriously." She prays for them.
