The Chipmunk Tour Saga Closing Ceremony Special
Chapter 11 (FINAL CHAPTER):
"Saying Goodbye…and Hello"
The following morning, William woke up next to Ahsoka. "Good morning, Snips," William said. "Ah. Good morning to you too, William," Ahsoka said. "I personally wanted to thank you for helping me through this."
"No problem, Ahsoka," William said. "I'm sure Skyguy will want to know how things went." A voice came on the Ponyo's communications system. "William, Ahsoka, you are now joined in the eyes of Togru," Shaak Ti said. "No matter where you go from here, you will know everything about the other from now to your final days."
"Thank you for making the trip all the way here from Coruscant for this, Master Shaak Ti," Ahsoka said. "Now, let's get back to the Simudeck."
William and Ahsoka walked back onto the Simudeck as Alvin finished his farewell speech. "I'll be right back, Ahsoka," William said before he kissed Ahsoka and made his way up to the lectern, which was vacated by Anakin.
"Thank you, Alvin, for your speech," William said. "I listened to it, and it was amazing. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the end of an era. Team Chipmunk, take your places."
Alvin, Brittany, Simon, Jeanette, Theodore , Eleanor, Jason and Melinda took their places on the ascension platforms. William looked at the Chipmunks and Chipettes then turned back to the assembled characters. "You all have not only enriched my life, but the lives of all who have read the stories of the Chipmunk Tour Saga. From the bottom of my heart, thank you," he said.
The characters applauded. As soon as the applause stopped, William took a deep breath, then said in Japanese, "And now, go to sleep, Team Chipmunk!"
The Kitchen Stadium lights dimmed. Then, the platforms began to lower Team Chipmunk under the Stadium through a cloud of dry ice smoke. The gathered audience applauded as the original Team Chipmunk disappeared into the mists of the past.
William then addressed the remaining characters. "If memory serves me right, today is the day when the Chipmunk Tour Saga comes to an end. But, the Chipmunk Legacy is not yet over," he began. "I have already begun writing the adventures of Team Chipmunk: The Next Generation. Some of you will be involved, some will not. But, now and for all time, you—all of you—will be a part of this legacy."
The music that accompanied the characters' march began to play as William wiped a tear from his eye. "Everyone, please return to your dimension with the certain knowledge that your story is not yet over…not by a long shot," William continued. "For as long as there is a Chipmunk Legacy, you will all live on in the hearts, minds and souls of all you have touched."
William reached out to the lectern and picked up a yellow bell pepper. "The Chipmunk Tour Saga is now complete!" he said before taking a bite out of the bell pepper.
The applause of the characters echoed in William's ears as he stepped off the Ponyo in the backyard of his family's house. "William, wait!" a voice called out.
William turned and saw Ahsoka and Kelsi. "I want a picture to remember this occasion," Ahsoka said. "Of course," William said. Ahsoka nodded at Kelsi and handed her a camera. William smiled and put an arm around Ahsoka's shoulder.
Kelsi pressed a button on the camera, fixing the image of two young lovers separated by species and dimensional origin but brought together by circumstances and the pure, unadulterated power of love. Kelsi handed a data card to William and a second card to Ahsoka.
"William, Ahsoka, you two shall meet again," Kelsi said. "I feel it." "But for now, let us remember the love we have made and shared," William said. "Until next we meet, my love," Ahsoka said. William and Ahsoka shared one last kiss before she and Kelsi got back on the Ponyo.
As it took off and quickly soared away from Earth's atmosphere, William felt a twinge of regret that he was leaving the family he helped to bring together behind.
"But," he also thought, "I have a new family to create." And so, William walked back into his house and began to type.
"'It is September 24th, 2027. And for young Stargazer Seville, it seemed to be an ordinary day. However, it would prove to be anything but,'" William said as he typed out the words.
