CHAPTER 4 – SerpentClan POV
Lynxpaw flicked her tail, as she studied the moss at her paws. Frowning, she turned to her mentor, Blackheart. "Blackheart," she began, "why do we
have to collect all this moss for the elders?" Blackheart sighed. "Because, Lynxpaw, if you haven't necessarily noticed, it's important to take care of them.
Besides, don't complain so much; it's only Halfeye in there." Lynxpaw rolled her eyes. "Yeah, but that doesn't necessarily matter if it's still annoying, does it?"
The tom shook his head. "It does matter, because you don't have to be doing as much work as you would if there were more elders. Besides, he's blind, take it
easy on him." Lynxpaw rolled her eyes again. "Lynxpaw, I swear, the only thing you're good at is rolling your eyes and being a complainer…" The apprentice
narrowed her eyes, flicking her ears. "Whatever." Getting back to her duties, she scratched up the rest of the moss, and piled it at her feet. She would show
them; she would be an amazing warrior, and even have an apprentice of her own. She smiled to herself, silently. Yep. She would.
Not too long later, back at the camp after fixing Halfeye's nest, Hawkstar called for a meeting. The leader was a very large, brown tabby, who was
definitely not a force to be reckoned with. He would end up slamming you down into the dirt, and ripping your throat out before you could blink. Of course,
Hawkstar was… Aggressive. Not necessarily mean, but not very nice either. It wasn't uncommon for most cats to try to get on his good side, and if they did the
opposite, they would literally, most likely, send prayers up to Starclan in attempts to be salvaged from the ungodly deed they had done. Regardless, Lynxpaw liked
Hawkstar; he was very nice. Back to the clan meeting, Lynxpaw had received her warrior name, Lynxtuft. A realization had come to Hawkstar, a bit earlier, as he
was sharing it with the clan. "It appears we are at a shortage of kits not, with no more apprentices. We will be hoping that Ravenear will have her kits soon, but
it doesn't look like its time, just yet." Ravenear flicked her ear with slight embarrassment. She nervously licked her chest fur down, and Hawkstar smiled slightly.
Blackheart narrowed his eyes. "Aye, I agree with Hawkstar; we'll need more kits if we're to survive." The leader shook his head. "In due time, Blackheart." He
then proceeded to jump off the rock, concluding the session. Riverclaw trotted up. "Uh, Hawkstar; the gathering is tonight…" Hawkstar looked at him, dubious.
Then, it clicked in his mind. "OH!" He said, rolling back and laughing at his stupidity, before sitting back up, and coughing to regain his composure. "But of course,
Riverclaw; have you decided who is coming along yet?" The grayish, blue tom shifted a little. "Well, Blackheart, Halftooth, Icewind, and Lynxtuft of course…" He
said, voice small. Hawkstar's chest tightened slightly. Of course, the clan was so small… everyone would be going, besides Halfeye and Ravenear. He looked over
his shoulder, at Halftooth who was nuzzling said queen, before saying goodbye, and trotting over near the deputy and leader. Following shortly behind was the
newly named Lynxtuft, along with the rest of the Clan. Hawkstar looked grim, but shrugged it off, and continuing onwards. "Okay is everyone ready?" He asked.
There were small meows, and the brown tabby led the way out. They would survive. Or so he hoped.
