Episode 25: And The Winner Is . . .

The scene opens on Chris, standing on the pier. "Last time on Total Drama All Stars." Flashbacks of the previous episode start playing. "We were down to the final three, with Katniss and Ash almost certain to become the final two. However, things changed when Ash lost the first part of the tug-o-war challenge, and Katniss lost the second part, even though she almost beat Bart to death. And Bart won on a technicality, he got to choose the person who went with him to the finale. Hoping she'd be easier to beat, he chose Katniss, leaving Ash to be fired from the cannon." The camera cuts back to Chris. "This is it people, the season one finale . . . of sorts. Who will win? Who will lose? And who will come back next season? Find out the answers to the first two, right here, on Total Drama All Stars."

Intro song plays.

The scene starts in the mess hall at breakfast. Bart and Katniss were glaring at each other across the room as they ate. Chris walked in and noticed them. "Anyone got a knife? Because I'm gonna need one to cut the tension in here." Neither of them paid any attention to him, instead they just continued glaring at each other. "Good, you want to kill each other. That's great television right there," said Chris. The two contestants continued to ignore him. "Right," he said. "Well, your final challenge starts in an hour." Still neither of them looked at him. "Okay, see you then," said Chris as he left.

Katniss finished her cereal, and bit the top off her spoon before clearing her table.

Confession Cam: Katniss

"I can't believe I'm competing against Bart in the finale. It should have been Ash. I swear Chris did that to me intentionally."

Confession Cam: Chris

"Hey, screwing with the contestants is what I'm good at. That and bleeding the network dry of cash."

An hour later . . .

"Bart, Katniss, welcome to your final challenge," said Chris as the two of them arrived. "Your challenge is a pretty simple concept: you'll be running an obstacle course."

"That doesn't sound so bad," said Bart.

"That depends on how popular you are," said Chris. "Allow me to introduce you to your obstacles." Chef walked up, wheeling a large trolley with a sheet covering its contents. They pulled away the sheet, revealing all the eliminated contestants, except . . .

"Where's Ezekiel?" asked Katniss. "Not that I care about that moron, but you've managed to round up the other eighteen."

"Because he's M. I. A. again," said Chris. "Also, we haven't got Marty yet." At that point, the DeLorean appeared next to him.

The Doc and Marty got out and looked around. "Oh, for crying out loud," said the Doc. "Why does this keep happening?"

"Because the writer likes this running gag," said Chris. "Now, security?" Two large security guards dragged the protesting doctor away.

"So, all through the season when you said that when we lose we'd never be coming back," said Light. "I'm guessing that was a lie?"

"Light, you're a smart guy. I honestly thought you'd have figured that out before now," said Chris.

"And I thought I was done with this *beep*," said Hit-Girl.

"Like I could deprive you of me for that long," said Chris. "Now, here's how the final challenge works: Bart and Katniss will race through that narrow valley over there that we have not set anything up in. Your ex-competitors will attempt to bar your path in any way they want IF they want to. If you were friends with them, they may just let you pass with no competition. Your goal is to make it to the end of the valley, where we have one final challenge for you. You'll find out what that is when you get there. Chef, get the obstacles in place." Chef hooked the trolley up to a golf cart and started dragging them towards the valley. "Wait, you forgot this one," called Chris, dragging Marty behind him.

"Hey, let me go," said Marty as Chris threw him onto the trolley.

"Okay contestants. Are you ready?" asked Chris. "GO!"

Bart and Katniss took off as fast as they could, charging into the valley. It wasn't long before they found their first obstacle. A rock flew through the air . . . and landed several yards away from Bart.

"Sorry, I'm not a very good shot," said Haruhi. "Katniss, if you can bring him closer to me . . ."

"No problem," said Katniss, dragging Bart towards her. Haruhi threw another rock, and this time it hit the target. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to have much effect.

"Sorry, I'm not very strong either," said Haruhi. "You may as well go on and hope whoever is up next will help you." Katniss threw Bart backwards as she took off again, though Bart got up and followed quickly. As he took off, Haruhi threw another rock, hitting Bart in the back of the head. Bart stumbled and shot a glare back at her, but kept going.

Soon, the two of them were in the domain of the next obstacle. "PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!" yelled Draco, pulling out his wand. There was a flash, then Katniss froze on the spot, unable to move. "That's for not getting eliminated back when I was kicked out," he said. Draco then looked up to see Bart disappearing around the corner. "LOCOMOTO MORTIS!" he yelled, but Bart was gone before the spell could hit. "Damn," he said. "Well, you might as well go after him. I just wanted revenge on you." Draco cast the counter spell, and Katniss got up. She then punched him in the face.

"You're lucky I'm in the middle of a challenge, or I'd do that a few more times," said Katniss before chasing after Bart.

Katniss gained some ground on Bart, due in part to her high level of fitness. However, when she was about to pass him, she felt something slam into her, throwing her to the side. She looked up to see Hit-Girl standing above her.

"What the hell?" demanded Katniss. "You're on his side?"

"What are you implying?" growled Hit-Girl. "You're like that *beep* from the Aftermath show."

"What are you talking about?" said Katniss, just as Hit-Girl charged again. Katniss defended herself against the attack, and prepared herself for a fight.

Meanwhile, Bart was charging ahead comfortably. "Ha ha, sucker," he said. Suddenly, he crashed into someone. Looking up, he saw Finn.

"Where's Katniss?" demanded Finn, drawing his sword.

"Being held up by Hit-Girl," said Bart. "Now, if I could just get past . . ."

"Don't even think about it," said Finn, blocking his path. "I'll hold you here until Katniss comes."

"You sure she's even gonna get here?" said Bart, trying to slip around him.

"She's survived this long, she'll survive Hit-Girl," said Finn, pushing Bart back.

Meanwhile, Katniss managed to land a few punches on Hit-Girl, and knocked her down. Hit-Girl was up a second later, but she didn't notice Katniss pick up a large rock, which she brought down on Hit-Girl's head, knocking her out cold. "Sorry it came to that, but I really need to go," said Katniss, running on to the next part of the course.

Back at obstacle four, Bart was trying to charge Finn, though Finn was holding him back well enough. Katniss rounded a bend to see the two of them fighting and smiled. Good, she thought. Finn kept him busy. I'm still in this. Katniss ran past the two of them as quick as she could.

"Go Katniss," cheered Finn. "You can still win this." Unfortunately, while Finn was distracted by Katniss, Bart slipped past him and kept himself in the race.

Katniss held the lead, but Bart was catching fast. Then, he slammed into what felt like an invisible wall. Bart got up, and tried to follow again, but was blocked again. "What the heck is going on here?" asked Bart, feeling the suddenly solid air in front of him.

"Hey, get off those," came a voice Bart immediately recognised.

"Annabeth?" said Bart, feeling in front of him again. "But where . . ."

"Hey, I said not to touch those," she said again, and then she came into view, holding her invisible baseball cap. "You don't deserve to win. Katniss does. So this is as far as you get."

"Not if I can help it," said Bart, grabbing Annabeth's cap. She tried to grab it back, but Bart had already put it on and ran past her. He laughed as he charged after Katniss. Bart saw Katniss pass Sabriel unhindered. Clearly Sabriel supports Katniss, thought Bart. Luckily she can't see me.

Sabriel turned in the direction Bart was coming, and seemed to be watching him approach. But that's impossible, he thought. I'm invisible. Bart changed course slightly, so he wouldn't crash into her. Just as he was about to get past, Sabriel stuck her hand out and grabbed Annabeth's cap off Bart's head. "Next time, don't make so much noise when you run," said Sabriel. "Also, I could see where your feet landed in the grass." Bart didn't pay much attention to this, instead continuing to head after Katniss.

Just as Bart saw Katniss disappear around another corner, he felt a tug at his collar. His feet flew out from under him, and he was looking up at Alice.

"Going somewhere?" she asked, lifting him to his feet.

"Yeah, the finish line," said Bart, tearing away from her grip. Unfortunately, before he could go far she'd grabbed him again.

"Not with me around you're not," said Alice.

"Surely this is against the rules," said Bart.

"You'd think that, wouldn't you?" said Chris, looking down at them from the top of a cliff.

"But there's no way of getting away from her," said Bart.

"Don't worry, I'll let you go before Katniss finishes," said Alice. "I mean, you do still have Murtagh, Kim, Zidane and Ash to get through, so it's not as though my interference will be the only thing to stop you."

"Yeah, well, when are you gonna let me go?" said Bart, still struggling to free himself. He looked up at Alice, but she seemed to be staring into space. Suddenly, she shuddered and was alert again.

"Okay, Katniss has got past Rachel and Murtagh. You can go," said Alice, letting Bart go. She let him go while he was pulling forward, and since he wasn't expecting to be let go, he fell forward and landed in the mud. Alice giggled as Bart got up and gave chase.

Bart soon reached Rachel's spot, and saw her covered in mud. Rachel looked up when she heard him approach. "Just go ahead," she said, waving him on.

"You don't want to stop me?" asked Bart.

"No. I don't want Katniss to win. She voted me off," said Rachel.

"I heard you made a bet with your team about whether you should stay or go, and you lost," said Bart.

"I thought they'd vote for Light anyway," said Rachel. "Also, she pushed me into the mud just before."

"So because she didn't do as you thought she would, you want her to lose," said Bart. "Well, whatever, it helps me so I don't care." Bart ran past her to encounter his next challenge.

He knew when he'd reached Murtagh's part, because there was a giant red dragon blocking his path. Stop, came Thorn's voice in Bart's mind.

"No way man," said Bart, climbing onto Thorn's back. Thorn immediately started bucking around like a rodeo bull, forcing Bart to hold on tight. Still, Bart was flung over Thorn's back and down the other side, where Murtagh was waiting.

"This is as far as you go," said Murtagh, brandishing his sword.

"You wouldn't kill me would you?" said Bart, backing up to the wall.

"I'm not gonna kill you," said Murtagh. "Though I wouldn't move if I were you."

"Why not," saked Bart, just as an arrow pierced the rock just next to him. Bart looked up, and saw Katniss holding her bow.

"Gotcha," she said, grabbing another arrow.

"What? You didn't hit me," said Bart.

"Check again," said Murtagh. Bart looked where the arrow was, and saw that his shirt had been pierced by the arrow, sticking it to the rock. Bart heard another crack, and saw another arrow had stuck his shirt to the rock but hadn't hit him.

"Well, gotta run," said Katniss. "I've got a challenge to win. Murtagh, you think you can guard him until then?"

"No problem," said Murtagh, turning his attention to Bart.

Katniss ran on to the next part of the course. "Okay, so the order I have to pass the contestants is elimination order," said Katniss. "That means . . ."

"I'm next," said Carly, stepping out from behind a rock.

"Are you going to try and stop you?" asked Katniss.

"Yeah, but we both know that you'll get through anything I try to do to stop you, so I'm just gonna stand here," said Carly. Katniss dodged around her and kept going.

"That was easy," said Katniss. "Now, after Carly was Ezekiel, but since he's not here, that means . . ." Before she could finish, she felt herself flung into the rock wall at the side.

"My turn," said Ayane, getting off her.

"What the hell? I thought you were on my side," said Katniss.

"And yet, you helped vote me out," said Ayane. "I tried to help you, and you voted me off."

"I didn't know at the time," said Katniss, blocking a kick from Ayane. Katniss tried for a punch, but Ayane caught it, and threw her into the air. Just as Katniss was about to hit the ground, Ayane spun around with her fists out, striking her several times.

"Glad it's not me this time," said Chris, watching safely from up high.

Katniss, completely dazed, managed to sit up, and saw something she wasn't expecting. "Bart?"

Sure enough, there he was, shirtless and racing past. Ayane saw him too, but didn't move to stop him. "Well, I've done all I wanted. You're free to go." Katniss stood up, and tried to sweep Ayane's legs. Ayane saw it coming, and jumped several feet away. "You're not gonna hit me," she said. "You might as well finish the challenge." Katniss glared at her, but left anyway.

Katniss ran fast, and soon saw Bart up ahead. He slowed down as if he saw something, and moved over to the right side of the valley. Katniss shrugged, and continued straight ahead. Then she found out why Bart was running around the edge. In her haste to catch him, Katniss put her foot into a snare, lifting her into the air. "Sorry Katniss," called Kevin. "I was hoping Bart would fall for that."

"Yeah, well, fat chance of that happening," said Bart, passing Kevin's area.

Katniss sighed as she grabbed her knife. "I can only hope Kim, Zidane and Ash can hold him while I catch up," said Katniss as she cut herself down. Immediately, she started out again, but was quickly stopped by Kevin.

"I've booby trapped this entre section. You'll need me to point out all the danger spots," said Kevin.

"Like where?" asked Katniss.

In response, Kevin picked up a stone and threw it a short distance in front of him. This set off another snare, which in turn set off a pair of swinging logs, which in turn revealed a pit hidden under some leaves. Soon, several more traps were set off, until there was a clear safe path for Katniss to pass. "Does that answer your question?" he asked.

"Thank you," said Katniss, giving him a sisterly kiss on the cheek before leaving.

Confession Cam: Kevin

"That's the second kiss I've gotten on this show. Clearly I'm a hit with the older girls. Better not tell Carly about this one though."

Katniss ran until she encountered Wallace's section, where he was laying against a tree. "Hey Katniss," said Wallace. "Bart came through about twenty seconds ago. I yelled abuse at him, but he didn't even slow down."

"Well, you tried your best," said Katniss, running past him.

Katniss could hear where Kim's section was before she actually saw it. Katniss rounded a corner, and saw Bart fighting viciously to get past Kim. "Let me go damn it," said Bart. "Katniss will be here any minute."

"For example, this minute?" asked Kim as Katniss ran past.

"Thanks Kim, I'll take it from here," said Katniss.

"What are you gonna do? Arrow my shorts to the wall as well?" demanded Bart.

"I would, except I'd rather just keep going," said Katniss, leaving.

"Hey, what about me?" said Bart, trying to push past Kim.

"Don't even think about it kid," said Kim. "I know how to deal with difficult ten year olds. And since normally it's two of them, this'll be easy."

"Easy, eh?" said Bart. "Obviously you've never met Bart Simpson." Bart pulled out his slingshot and took aim at Kim's head. Kim grabbed at the slingshot, but Bart dodged around her, not firing the slingshot. She made another lunge for him, but he was gone.

Bart ran on, trying to catch Katniss. He soon spotted Marty, beaten and leaning against a rock. "Hey man, what happened to you?" asked Bart, slowing down to ask.

"Katniss beat the crap outta me," said Marty. "I thought if I impersonated Clint Eastwood well enough, I'd gain some of his toughness."

"Why would you think that would work?" asked Bart.

"Because there was no way I'd stop her otherwise. Might as well at least act tough," said Marty.

"Fair enough," said Bart, rushing onwards. He knew there were only three contestants left to face, and two of them were hostile. First up was Zidane. Bart didn't notice him when he first entered Zidane's area, but once Zidane tripped him with his tail, he knew he was around somewhere.

"Surprise," said Zidane, lifting Bart with his tail so they faced each other. "You didn't think I'd let you go that easily did you?"

"That's what half the other people on your team said," said Bart. "And I still got this far, so yes, I expect you will."

"Well, given what Ash has in store for you, I could quite easily just let you go, and comfortably know that Katniss will win," said Zidane. "In fact, Katniss even told me to let you go, but first . . ." Zidane began spinning around, his tail still wrapped around Bart's ankle. After a few seconds, Zidane let go of him, flinging Bart straight into a wall. "You're free to go now," said Zidane. Bart got up and stumbled around a bit, before falling down again. Zidane just laughed at him.

Bart managed to struggle to his feet, then looked around at the two exits to Zidane's area. "Which one's the right way?" asked Bart.

"You figure it out," said Zidane, climbing onto a rock and relaxing.

Bart glared at him, but continued down one of the exits, hoping it was the right way. Bart kept a keen eye for another contestant, and soon found one. Unfortunately, it was Marty. "*beep*," said Bart, running the other way.

Meanwhile, Katniss had passed Zidane with no problems, and was looking forward to seeing Light, mainly because she wanted to kick the crap out of him. Twice. She rounded a corner, and was suddenly tackled to the ground. "Light, what are you doing," said Katniss, breaking free of his grasp.

"Giving you a hug," said Light. "I know there's some bad blood between us . . ."

"Some?" questioned Katniss.

". . . but I thought we could put all that behind us and settle this like adults," said Light. "What do you say? Friends?"

"Go *beep* yourself with a cactus," said Katniss, and immediately followed this by punching him in the face, breaking his nose. She then turned to leave, and saw Bart dashing past her. How he kept catching her was a mystery.

Luckily for Katniss, she was faster than Bart, and caught him just before entering Ash's area. As she entered, she saw all of Ash's Pokémon standing there in a Guard of Honour as she passed through them. Behind her, as Bart entered, she could hear Bart's yells as Muk and Quilava began attacking him. Katniss spotted Ash about halfway down, flanked by Pikachu and Charizard. "Thank you," said Katniss. "Surely he can't get passed . . . how many Pokémon have you got here?"

"Thirty four," said Ash. "I'm not sure how Professor Oak managed to get them all here."

"Well, better get going," said Katniss. "Bart's managed to get as far as your Roggenrola." Ash turned to see Roggenrola sitting on top of Bart, with Noctowl pecking at him.

Katniss ran forward and through the exit to the course to find Chris standing there. "Congratulations Katniss," said Chris. "You're the first one to get out, so you get to have the first go at the absolute final challenge of the season." Chris pointed down a hill to a target. "You will have to fire an arrow at that target. The closer to the centre you are, the more chance you have of winning."

"Wait, so if this is all we had to do, why did we have to run through the obstacle course?" asked Katniss.

"So the finale would be more suspenseful," said Chris. "Oh, and by the way, you have to fire at the target while riding down the hill on this." Chris held up a trash can lid for her. "Now, say hi to your cheer squad." Katniss turned to see a curtain rise and reveal a stand. In it, she saw her friends and family from District 12: Primrose, Peeta, Gale, Haymitch, and her mother.

"WOO! Go Katniss," called Gale.

"You can do it Kat," said Peeta.

"You suck," yelled someone else. Katniss turned around to see another stand with some other people in it.

"Homer, she's done very well to get here," said a woman with large blue hair.

"Yeah fatty, you wanna say that again?" said Haymitch.

"Yeah actually, I do," said Homer, getting out of his seat. Over on the other side, Haymitch did the same.

"Must you fight with everyone that argues with you?" said Lisa.

"Sweetie, daddy needs to do this, so he can look tough on national TV," said Homer, rolling up his sleeves.

"WOO! Go Haymitch," called Gale.

"Gale, we're here to cheer on Katniss," said Katniss's mother.

"But now we also get to see Haymitch beat the crap outta someone," said Gale.

Primrose sighed at this. "Idiot," she said. "Go Katniss."

Katniss gave them a thumbs up, put her trashcan lid on the ground, and jumped on, grabbing an arrow in the process. She took aim as best she could on the shaky ride, and let the arrow fly. She watched its path to the target, and it sunk into it in the circle around the bull's eye.

"Not bad," said Chris, somehow already at the bottom. "This means Bart will need a bull's eye in order to win. Speaking of which . . ." At the top of the hill, Bart had just exited the obstacle course, chased closely by Ash's Scraggy and Palpitoad. Luckily, as he ran to the edge of the hill, Homer and Haymitch bowled over the two Pokémon, beginning their brawl. "Okay Bart, now grab the trashcan lid and try to hit the target with your slingshot," called Chris.

Bart grabbed the lid and jumped down the hill. "Cowabunga," he yelled, drawing his slingshot and a stone. He carefully took aim at the target, just as Haymitch and Homer started rolling down the hill. Just as Bart fired the slingshot, they crashed into him. The stone flew towards the target, everyone watching in shocked silence . . .

. . . as it flew over the top of the target and hit a passing intern in a very sensitive spot.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of Total Drama All Stars is, MISS KATNISS EVERDEEN!" yelled Chris as Bart slid to a halt beside him. "Katniss has won one million dollars."

"WHAT?! No fair," said Bart. "I was bumped by the drunk and the other drunk."

"Doesn't matter, Katniss still wins," said Chris.

"Yeah, take that you little *beep*," said Katniss, putting two pixelated hands in Bart's face.

"Yes, that's right everyone, Katniss has won season one," said Chris. "But what have we got in store for season two? Will we have a new cast? Or will we torture these guys some more? Stay tuned for next week, because we have one more episode, of Total Drama All Stars."

Author's note: There you have it, Katniss won . . . or did she? Hardcore Total Drama fans would be aware that every season has two endings, one where each of the final two wins. And that's exactly what I've done too. I've been posting this FanFic on Archive of Our Own as well as here, however they got an ending where Bart wins. Yeah, I just did that. Anyway, next week I'll have one more chapter, then I'll have a few months off before doing the second season.
