So, after a painfully long Hiatus, I'm back, hopefully for good,

I stayed up late to finish this, but fell asleep and added the last bits in the morning, hopefully you guys like.

And, I just want to say that I am not that writer who says, 'No more chapters until I get ten reviews!' No, I hate people who do that, so I'm not going to, but, reviews make the inspiration bubble bigger, and the bigger the bubble, the faster chapters are out,

Just a thought, but now, enjoy!

Chapter 30

Clary awoke to sun streaming in through the balcony, she felt herself smile and stretched, only to find out that Jace was wrapped around her like one of the vines growing up the Raven Tree. Her smile widened and she stroked his golden-ice hair.

Jace stirred and opened his eyes to gaze into Clary's.

"Hey." She said, her smile breaking into a grin.

"Hey yourself, how're you feeling?" he asked; a hint of concern showing in his eyes. Clary moved slightly, and winced, Jace moved closer at her expression.

"Sore, stiff, that kind of thing. It's not that bad." She explained, Jace smirked slightly and pulled her on top of him.

"Good that you're not too sore, otherwise we might get some questions from the others." Jace said, his eyes dancing with amusement. Clary laughed, and was about to kiss Jace when the door to the room burst open,

"Up and at 'em! You-HOLY SHIT! Somebody just got laid!" Isabelle burst out when she walked in, her expression showing amusement and laughter.

"What happened?" Magnus asked, peeking around Isabelle. When his eyes found Clary on top of Jace he grinned. "About time I'd say." He chuckled, and then turned to walk back down the stairs.

"Go away." Jace muttered, burying his head in Clary's shoulder, Isabelle put her hands up in mock surrender.

"Geez, alright lovebirds, it's nearly midday, no freaking clocks around here, so get up! Roxy has something planned but won't tell anyone until we're all downstairs, so again, UP!" Isabelle said and slammed the door shut.

Jace sighed and pulled Clary closer to him, rolling so they were both on their sides facing each other.

"I think they can wait." Jace purred, letting his hand caress Clary's side through the blanket, Clary smiled, and rolled away and got up and out of the bed.

"You don't keep Isabelle waiting." Clary pointed out, Jace rolled his eyes but got up as well.

Clary looked around, trying to find her clothes, and then gave up, seeing as her shorts were on the other side of the room and her shirt was half under the bed. So she walked over to the dresser and pulled out some clothes that had survived the crash on the island and had been brought here.

While she dressed she heard Jace looking for his clothes, seeing as he didn't have any spares in this room, and his mutterings of swear words when he couldn't find them.

Despite that, both of them managed to get dressed and head down the stairs and across to the main tree and the meeting room where everyone was having a communal breakfast.

There was the usual for living on the island, large boiled eggs that probably came from a lizard, something that looked like ham and fresh berries and fruit.

"So, have fun last night?" Roxy asked, smirking, Jace put his arm around Clary,

"You could say that." He responded, matching Roxy's smirk. Magnus chuckled, and Jordan tried to hide a smile.

"I won't pry. Anyway, the black goo from yesterday is gone, for now, Drakiel's off doing who-knows-what, and Jacob went to go visit Azazel, so if you have questions, it's either me or the bipolar chick." Roxy explained, gesturing to Chloe with her thumb near the end.

Chloe didn't seem to care that she had been acknowledged, and was sitting in a chair eating a cupcake.

"What did you mean yesterday by Jophiel?" Clary asked, recalling her conversation with Jace last night before they…slept together.

"Perfect way to start," Roxy said, raising an eyebrow with a smile, "We're not the only Nightshade island, something Sebastian doesn't know, each Island has a guardian, who just happens to be an angel. There's an island in the north Atlantic who's guardian is Jophiel."

"Why would angels agree to help you guys?" Alec wondered aloud, the same thought that Clary knew was going around all of their minds.

"I dunno, The Council of Species made this shit up, and managed to convince some angels to help." Roxy responded.

"Wait, a while ago you said none of you knew the locations of the other islands." Magnus pointed out, his cat eyes showing suspicion. Roxy shrugged.

"You were new here, it wasn't like we were about to give away all of our secrets to strangers."

"She has a point." Maia muttered, which Clary had to agree with, it wasn't like the Shadowhunters had told her everything on her first few days either, just enough to get by.

"So, how is this guardian angel going to help us find Sebastian?" Isabelle asked, bringing up the key point in the conversation.

"She won't." came a voice, and they all turned, leaning against the entryway was a girl with long brown hair that fell to her knees and deep blue eyes, her features seemed both feminine and masculine at the same time, but her figure demonstrated that she was female. She was dressed in jeans and a blue T-shirt.

"Sariel, nice to see you come down from the castle in the sky." Chloe called from her chair near the back of the room. Sariel, an angel's name, one Clary recognized, Sariel was the angel of guidance, sometimes confused with Uriel, the archangel of fire.

"And I, you. Although it seems to be more of a battlefield than a castle now," Sariel's voice was like water cascading over rocks and splashing into a crystal-clear pool.

"So, you're an angel?" Simon asked, his eyes wide, "And you're not about to smite us?"

Sariel chuckled, it sounded like wind rushing through fallen leaves. "No, but I sense Raziel's touch on you, Daylighter, so I understand why you would think such of us."

"He doesn't seem to like us very much." Clary said, surprising them with her statement. Sariel considered this.

"He is a high angel, and does not think the way us lower angels do, he has spent so much time in eternity, sometimes he does not see the problems of Shadowhunterkind as they do." Sariel said at last.

Clary paused at this, still, something didn't seem right, with this whole thing.

"Why choose now to volunteer information?" Isabelle beat her to the question. Roxy sighed and glanced at Sariel, who smiled sadly, Chloe looked up at Roxy and something passed between them.

"After you all went to bed last night, we talked, and decided that too many secrets have not been revealed, so what was left was an explanation. Of course Jacob and Drakiel chickened out and left, so it was our job." Roxy said, leaning back against the table when she was finished.

There was a silence while this sunk in, and then it was broken by Magnus.

"Are you sure these eggs are cooked? Because mine just hatched into a dragon." Many pairs of eyes turned to see Magnus sitting with a small dragon perched on the edge of his plate next to the shards of a supposedly-boiled egg.
