Chapter Nineteen:

The car ride over seemed like it had taken forever. Hilary and Tyson were making out most of the way, leaving me to pull a face. Kai had commented my face would stay like that if the wind changed, causing me to pull another face. When we got there, Hilary and Tyson ran off kicking the soccer ball, Max and Lita and Michael joining them. Amy had a book in hand which she dubbed light reading, I agreed with her on it, it wasn't too thick. Mina was unpacking the food and smacking Tala's hand away every two seconds. She was defending the food well. Serena and Ray said they were going to join and needed one more person.

"Kai would love to." I shoved him toward the two asking.

"Wha-?" he got all confused, Serena smiled and latched onto him.

"KAI'S ON MY TEAM!" She shouted at the others.

"SOUR PUSS IS ALL YOURS!" Tyson shouted. This caused Kai to glare daggers at the teen. I smiled, Ray sighed.

The teams were Serena, Lita, Kai and Ray taking on Hilary, Michael, Tyson and Max.

I turned to the others and saw that Kenny and Amy were talking about her book. Mina had sorted out the food, covering it, she smiled at me.

"I would watch out if I were you." She said in a song voice. I knew exactly what she was talking about.

"Do you know?" I asked her.

"Yes." She smiled and I glared at her.

"Mina you have to tell me!" I leaned closer to her, Tala got between us.

"No way Rei! Their plan is pretty good if you ask me."

"Relax, it won't work." Tala flatly stated. I smirked at Mina's frown.

"Why?" she asked.

"I warned Kai." My mouth gaped open, he did what?!

"When?" Mina was confused by this.

"I messaged him just before he got here."

I remembered his phone going off and him reading it and sighing.

"Why would you do that?" Mina asked.

Before he could answer her, he was saved by the soccer teams retiring and Serena laughing like a maniac.

"Looks like we win." She stuck her tongue out at Hilary and Max. Hilary responded doing the same thing.

Lita punched her boyfriend's arm and smiled.

"You owe me breakfast in bed." Michael groaned but smiled.

Max and Serena sat together whispering, I glared at the two.

"Serena, where is Darien, I thought he would be here."

"He couldn't make it today, he had a test."

I nodded, then turned to look at Tyson, Ray and Kai. They were in a heated discussion about something. And by heated I meant that Tyson was asking questions and Kai was complaining at how stupid he was. Ray tried to keep both of them calm. It was reminding a lot about me and Serena. We all sat down and started to eat, I sat beside Ray, and we were talking about martial arts. Of course the couples all sat next to each other, except Mina moved away from Tala, complaining that he steals her food. Kai sat beside Serena and Tyson and Hilary, they were all talking about beyblading. No surprises there really. Amy and Max were together, I had no clue what they were talking about. The food was gone in about ten minutes

The day was really nice weather and there was a ice breeze to keep us cool. Some of us were kicking the ball in a massive circle. That was Ray, Max, Kenny, Amy and me. Tala was teaching Mina how the blade, the same thing went with Lita and Michael. I kicked the ball to Ray he kicked it up for Max to head butt. We were laughing when Kenny missed the ball completely.

Hilary's POV.

I sat with Kai as we watched the others doing whatever they were doing. I saw where his eyes were and smirked.

"Why don't you just tell her?"

"Tell her what?" he asked in his Kai-way.

I sighed, I would never win, I watched as Tyson and Serena joined the others. Serena got the ball in the face and started to cry.

"Why are you such a crybaby?" I heard Rei groan.

"Why are you ALWAYS so mean to me Rei?" Serena asked sniffing.

I smiled it reminded me so much of Kai and Tyson.

"I'm not always mean to you, meatball head!" Rei argued. I saw Amy run in between the girls, trying to calm them down. Rei sighed and headed towards us.

"I can't win." She complained.

No one heard what Amy had said to Rei but whatever it was, it was serious, we could all tell. The game continued, Rei sitting out.

"I will take your spot then." Kai stood and jogged over to the others. I glared at his back, knowing full well what he was doing. I heard Rei sigh.

"What's wrong?" I asked. Rei had become a close friend in a short time. It had been a full eight weeks we had known each other.

"Doesn't matter." She said after a few minutes. I nodded letting it go. I knew she wasn't one to open up easy.

"How about we go for a walk?" I suggested. She turned and smiled at me.

"I was about to say that." We both got to our feet, I noticed she was taller then I by a little bit. We headed toward the lake but we could still see the others. Rei was looking out at the water. I turned to the others and saw Kai look over at us. He hesitated on to join us, I shook my head. He turned back and kept playing the game. I knew he was still keeping an eye on us. Ever since that night at the comp where something happened to him and Rei. He was like a hawk with all of us. I turned to face Rei but she seemed alert for some reason. I was scared.

"Rei?"

"Shhhh!" she instructed me. I listened, I tried to see what she was looking for but couldn't. Then suddenly she shoved me into the water.

Mina's POV.

I felt my senses go on full alert, something wasn't right here. I knew the other scouts were the same, except Serena, she was hopeless. I felt Tala's hand on my back, I looked at him, he looked confused and concerned. I put a fake smile on, kissing him lightly.

"It's ok." I reassured him.

I hadn't told him about the Sailor Scouts but he knew that when I tensed something was up. Then I turned toward Rei, her and Hilary had gone for a walk by the lake. I saw Rei searching, she could feel it a lot stronger than any of us.

Then I saw her throw Hilary into the lake just in time to save her from being hurt. Rei wasn't fast enough to dodge the attack herself.

"REI!" I screamed causing everyone to turn in time to see her being knocked off her feet. Rei flew back a few feet. I raced over to her, I didn't think to go for Hilary, someone else would. I was beaten by Kai though. He helped her to her feet.

"Are you ok?" he asked. Pulling her closer to him, I went to go and comfort Rei but felt someone pulling me to them.

"Tala, I'm fine!" I groaned.

"Not taking chances." He answered. I loved how he was so protective of me but I was a hero after all, I didn't need much protecting.

"What was that?" Ray asked as he joined us.

"Heartsnatcher." Lita answered. We were joined by Serena, Amy, Tyson, Hilary, Max and Kenny.

The four of us girls shared a look. Then we heard laughter, causing us to break eye contact and turn to it. Tala had me behind his back, I peeked out from behind his arm.

Hilary's POV.

Tyson and Serena had come to help me out the lake. At first I was angry at being thrown into the lake but when I saw Rei not where we were standing I was glad. She had saved me and taken the hit. We ran over to the others, Tyson gave me his jacket so I would stay warm.

"What was that?" Ray asked. We had joined them in time to hear someone answer him.

"Heartsnatcher." Lita answered. I looked at everyone and saw that, Rei, Amy, Mina, Lita and Serena shared a knowing look. Then there was laughter behind us, we turned and saw some monster thing standing on a lamp post. Tyson stood in front of me, I noticed that most the guys stood in front of a girl. Ray and Max stood in front of Amy and Kenny. Michael had Lita behind him, she kept trying to push him out the way. Tala had Mina behind his back, she peeked out behind his arm. I saw the irritation on his face by this. Kai had Rei behind him. Serena stood by me, half in front of me in a protective way, like it was second nature to her.

"I need a pure heart." It rasped. I was very confused by this, it went for us. Serena shoved me out the way, Tyson shielding the both of us. I looked to see that everyone had dodged the attack, even Kenny. We got to our feet, the monster was turning around.

"We need to transform now!" Lita yelled.

"YES!" Rei, Mina, Amy and Serena agreed. Then they pulled something out that looked like wands of some kind. Serena had a broach. I had no idea what they were going to do, maybe throw the wands at the creature? Maybe they had powers or something in the wands, I thought that to be silly.

"Mercury star power!"

"Mars star power!"

"Venus star power!"

"Jupiter star power!"

"Moon prism power!"

There were lights, water covered Amy. Fire covered Rei. Thunder covered Lita. Stars covered Mina and a pink light covered Serena. Suddenly the girls that were there had turned into the Sailor Scouts.
