Chapter 7: Guilt

It has been three days since Quinn returned from her trip to Lima and Puck already called her twice. Puck calling her. Twice. That is something he hadn't even done when they were dating. Quinn and Anna were on their way to Drama class, where they had to act out a scene from Grease.

"So I had an idea, Quinn, what if we gave this scene a total different meaning by making Frenchie be in love with Sandy. Then it would give Frenchie helping Sandy to get together with Danny a totally new dramatic aspect."

"You just want Frenchie to be a bigger part. I think that we should just leave it the way it is and let secondary characters be secondary characters."

"I would say that too, if I had gotten the role of Sandy," Anna said, sticking her tongue out mockingly, "You are gonna rock that part at the Winter Musical."

"Thanks, you make an amazing Frenchie. You have to teach me how to act so quirky one day. Promise?"

"Promise."

They went to Drama class and got praised for their convincing acting. Quinn smiled. She felt really great when she was acting. Probably because she didn't have to be herself for a while. She looked at her schedule. Uggh. Her next class was History. She did not want to meet her professor again after what happened with Puck. Well, she couldn't avoid him forever.

Anna who had a different class next hugged her goodbye and left. Quinn arrived at her class room. The other students were gathered outside the class room and discussing loudly.

There was a sign on the door:

Due to recent events, Mr July was fired. History 1o1 is cancelled until another professor is hired.

Quinn gasped. Recent Events as in him sleeping with her? She immediately felt sick and her vision turned kinda blurry. If the dean found out about this, her whole school career was over.

"Ms Fabray?", a deep voice sounded behind her.

She turned around. Speaking of the devil. Anna's father, Mr Bear, the dean of Yale's Drama department was standing in front of her with a calm but determined expression on his face.

"If you could follow me to my office please."

Quinn knew what was coming, but followed him, her books in her hand and her eyes on the ground.

"This year, there have been ongoing rumors about Mr July having an affair with a student," Dean Bear started, "but there was never any confirmation. Last week, however, Mr July was seen leaving your apartment in the middle of the night. There are also photos from an anonymous source. As you know the only other person, living in this apartment is my daughter, who is in a relationship with and not even in Mr July's class. So, this points to you being the said student. I had a closer look at your grades and realized that you would have failed you class, if some mysterious excellent grades would not have appeared on your record. You know that sleeping with your teacher will get you expelled right? What do you have to say about this, Ms Fabray?"

Quinn was almost in tears.

"Dean Bear, I…"

"It was me," a soft voice sounded behind Quinn.

She turned around and saw Anna standing there.

"Anna? What do you mean? You are not even in his class? What would you get from that? And you are with Nick, right? Anna, talk to me," her father said shocked.

"I started seeing him, because… I really liked him. Please don't expel me, dad," she said, crying.

"Of course not, you poor thing. I will sue this guy. You can leave now, Miss Fabray."

Quinn got up confused and numb. Why would Anna do that? She returned to her apartment to wait for Anna. Her roommate arrived ten minutes later.

"Anna, I.."

"Don't worry, Quinn. I knew my father would never expel me. I didn't want you to lose you shot at this school because of a stupid history class and some bad circumstances. I knew about you and July and I find it disgusting, but you probably do too. That's why I sent these photos to my Dad. I wanted that man to get fired. So, really don't worry."

Quinn got up and hugged her, tears streaming down her face.

"Thank you. For getting rid of him. And for protecting me."

"It's okay. I really like you, Quinn. I don't want to get another roommate. That's what friends are for right?"

Quinn never saw Anna as a friend before, but she had to admit it was true.

"Right!"
