Blossom's Pov
"Sissy? Why are all these people here?" Boomer asked me. He was 6 and I was 7. We were sitting on our couch as the police walked in and out of our home. 2 were questioning our dad while others were outside checking out our home. I just sat there blankly watching a turned off Television, holding Boomer's hands. I looked at him and once I met the gaze of his big blue eyes, I cracked. A sob erupted from my throat as I pulled him against. He silently held me while I wept in his shirt. "It's okay, Sissy. I'm here."
"Blossom, are you okay?" I heard Brick asked. I blinked, causing 2 tears to fall from my eyes. I turned towards him and saw him and Butch staring worriedly at me. I put my hand to my face and wiped away the tears. I gave him a smile and tilted my head.
"Of course! Why wouldn't I?" I asked. Butch gave me a look of skepticism. Brick grabbed my hand, making my face heat up for a split second.
"Nice try, Pinkie, but I have a little sister that pulls the same stunt that you did. I'm going to tell you what I tell her: Cry all you want." He said. Brick nodded his head in agreement.
"If you don't want to talk about it, I understand, but please don't lie." I felt shocked on how sweet they were. I don't know what over came me, but I almost literally jumped on Brick. I wrapped my arms around his neck and started to cry. I thought about Boomer, I thought about my dad, and lastly I thought about our Mom. Our mom that would never see Boomer and I get married or have children. Our mom that was never able to take care of us. Our mom that I accidentally killed...
"Miss. Clarence? Would you like to be excused to the bathroom?" My teacher asked. I backed away from Brick, He seemed a little flustered. The class was silently staring at us. I nodded my head and kept my gaze on the floor. I heard someone scoff.
"What a bitch. It's the first day of school and she's already causing a scene." A nasally voice said out loud. I felt more tears well up in my eyes.
"Why don't you shut the Fuck up!" Butch yelled. Brick put his arm over my shoulder.
"That's enough Mr. Haynes." The teacher said sternly. Butch glared at him.
"I don't see you doing anything about it. If your Mister Badass Teacher, than why don't you send that tramp over there to office?" Butch challenged. The teacher's face grew red, but he took a deep breath.
"Mr. Haynes, Why don't you and Mr. Tucker take Miss. Clarence to the office to wash up and cool down." Brick was already leading me out the door. I heard Butch's foot steps behind us. I kept my head on Brick's shoulder, but I looked back at Butch and gave him a smile which he returned reassuringly. I gave Brick a small smile and he turned a little pink and squeezed me tighter. As we walked down the hallway, we passed an open classroom, which so happened held Boomer. I saw his eyes widen as he saw me pass by. I hid my face deeper in Brick's shirt.
Butch and Brick waited outside as I composed myself. More tears fell as I thought more of Boomer. I don't know why he looks up to me. All I seem to do his disappoint him in being a role model. I'm supposed to be strong for him, and yet here I am, crying like a baby. I heard the bell ding, so I quickly turned on the faucet and splashed cold water on my face.
"Um... Blossom?" I heard a meek voice. I turned around and saw Bubbles. She was looking at me with concern in her eyes. She ran up to me and embraced me in a hug. That did it. Once more I started crying, holding onto her tightly. "Shh. It's alright. I'm here. I won't leave you alone." She whispered. She pulled away slightly and wiped the tears from my eyes.
"Yo, is everything alright?" I heard Buttercup ask as she came in. Bubbles looked at me for the answer. I sniffled and nodded my head. Buttercup gave me a sympathetic smile. "Good, cuz, Little Boy Blue is going nuts out there. He's tried to run in here about twice." I laughed a little. Boomer is always trying to comfort me. Bubbles held my hand as we walked out. Instantly, Boomer launched at me.
"I'm so sorry, Blossom. I should have been there. I told you I would always be there and I wasn't. I'm so sorry! When I saw you walk down the hall, I tried to excuse myself, but that asshole wouldn't let me leave." He rambled.
"Boomer, watch your mouth." I scolded, then I hugged him back. "I'm fine. Butch and Brick took care of me." I looked over to them and smiled. Bubbles giggled and praised Butch by kissing his cheek for making sure I was okay. Buttercup smirked at Brick and whispered something to him that made him blush. I looked back at Boomer and for some reason he was glaring at Brick. The next bell rung to say we had 2 minutes to get to class. I hugged Boomer and told everyone, but Buttercup bye. It turns out I have gym with her.
Boomer's POV
"Butch and Brick took care of me." Brick took care of me kept replaying in my head. In my first hour I had Buttercup and she told me that her brother had a crush on Blossom already. I growled and clenched my fists as I stared him down. How dare he try to steal my sister away from me! He was blushing about something Buttercup whispered to him. I didn't hear what she said, but I knew it was about Blossom. Right now it was just Bubbles, Butch, Brick and I.
"Boomer? What's wrong?" Bubbles asked. i could feel Butch's cold glare on me, but My eyes were set on Brick. Nothing else mattered but his termination. I walked up to him and shoved him.
"Hey! What's that for!" He yelled.
"You can't have her!" I yelled back. They all looked at me in shock. "You can't take her from me! She's all that I have and I won't let you take her." Brick looked embarrassed that I ratted him out on his crush.
"I wasn't trying too." he whispered. I shook from anger, but I calmed down when I felt Bubbles' hands on my arm. I looked at her and I sighed. I looked back at Brick with an apologetic look.
"I'm sorry for yelling. I'm just... well.. I'm jealous." I admitted. "Usually, I'm the only one that she will let comfort her, but I saw her hugging you as you both walked down the hall. It's been me and her through my whole life. Sure, My dad was there, but he wasn't. He was just there as a guardian. Blossom and I have always been there for each other. I just don't want her to forget about me, but if you make her happy, then I won't stop you." I whispered. Brick put his hand on my shoulder.
"Thanks for you blessing, Bud, but I don't even think I have a shot with your sister. I mean look at her and then look at me. She's way out of my league." he said sadly. "I'm probably that last choice she'd ever have." I scoffed and shook my head.
"She likes you. I can tell. When we met out in the courtyard, I saw the way she looked at you." I said. This made his eyes widen. I rolled my eyes. I turned to Bubbles and smiled. "Let's get to class." I said holding out my arm. She giggled and excepted. Butch glared at me and I laughed nervously. "I promise to take care of her. You can trust me." I told him. He growled and closed his eyes.
"If she tells me that you did anything, anything at all, I will hunt you down, got it? I don't care how much your sister hates me. What you feel for your sister is what I feel for mine. Guard her like a million bucks." He said. Bubbles smiled and ran to him, hugging him.
"I love you to, Butchie." She squealed and ran back to me and we headed to class. I smiled and looked at her. Maybe I could get used to this.
