Alec tried to bury his face into his pillow as he heard a banging at his door, and he was surprised when he felt his cheek come into contact with something warm. Alec smiled to himself as he opened his eyes and saw Sebastian lying next to him, his features completely relaxed. He possessed a sort of childhood innocence which most shadow hunters lost at too young an age, and that vitality was one of the things Alec couldn't help but be drawn to. Sebastian offered a place of comfort, acceptance and laughter that Alec found difficult to discover amongst his life of demons and bloodshed. Alec lightly traced his fingers over Sebastian's face, taking in every detail from his fluttering eyelids, to his soft lips, to his strong jaw. Sebastian finally opened his eyes, giving Alec a sleepy grin, but the peaceful moment was ruined as Jace's voice rang through the room.
"Alec, you and I have training. Just one on one parabatia. Be there in ten minutes or I'm breaking your door down," Jace declared, and Alec could hear him loudly stomping down the hallway.
Alec groaned at the statement and closed his eyes, wanting nothing more than to stay in bed with Sebastian, and the younger Nephilim chuckled at Alec's predicament.
"No rest for the wicked," Sebastian said, and Alec rolled his eyes.
"I'll be back as soon as I can, you can stay here if you want," Alec said as he dragged himself out of the bed.
"I might just take you up on that offer," Sebastian said as he watched Alec collect his gear from where it had been hazardously strewn across the floor the night before.
In his rush to grab his gear Alec forgot he was completely naked, a fact that Sebastian was not oblivious to. Alec blushed as he stood and saw Sebastian watched him with a heated gaze and a small smirk on his lips.
"I could get used to waking up to that view every morning," Sebastian said, making Alec flush further, although he too smiled at the comment.
"I'll see you in about half an hour," Alec said, and Sebastian nodded as he settled back down into the bed, apparently not planning on getting up any time soon.
Logically Sebastian knew he should have returned to his own room, to get rid of any suspicions Alec's siblings might hold, but instead he found himself falling asleep again. In Paris Sebastian had not had to adhere to a very strict shadow hunter schedule, and so he was not used to waking at the crack of dawn, and much preferred to leisurely drag himself out of bed when he felt like it. His body was also still healing from his wound that Sebastian had given him, and his strenuous activities with Alec probably hadn't helped in the process. Still, Sebastian regretted nothing from the night, not even his confessions about his family. Eventually, once Sebastian did awaken, he soon found himself bored, and not wanting to feel as if he was prying through Alec's stuff, Sebastian decided it was best he go. Before doing so however Sebastian decided to take a quick shower, a poor excuse for prolonging his time awaiting Alec's return. Sebastian slowly made his way to the bathroom, not surprised to see that the room held few cosmetic products aside from toothpaste and soap, and he quickly stepped into the shower. He moaned loudly in satisfaction as the warm water ran over his skin, washing away his weariness, but as he opened his eyes Sebastian was surprised to see an indent in the wall. At first he couldn't figure out what had caused the damage to the tiles, until he held up his closed fist to the surface, and saw it was almost the same size as whatever had caused the surface to smash. Deciding not to ponder over the strange sight any longer Sebastian let himself relax again, until once again his serene moment was lost due to Jace's voice.
"Alec, you in here?"
Sebastian panicked as he heard Jace open the door to the room, and he now regretted his decision to leave the bathroom door open. It had been meant as an open invitation to Alec, but definitely not for Jace.
"Look, I just wanted to say thanks for today, you know, training with me. I know that I've been a bit of a pain lately. I understand what it's like to want to protect someone from Jonathan, and I know that's why you got so angry at me the other day, and in all honesty…you were right. Wow, I actually said it, don't be expecting to hear that again any time soon," Jace said, oblivious to who he was actually speaking to.
Sebastian didn't feel like he could stop Jace once he'd started to speak, and so he simply stood in silence with his face frozen in a look of shock, praying that Jace wouldn't figure out he wasn't speaking to Alec.
"It's unfair of me to say that you're the cause for us not being as close, as parabatia, and as brothers. It just sucks sometimes, that everything gets in the way, but I can tell you're happy. It's good to see you with someone who…. Treats you in the right way. Magnus was never good for you, with all the dramatics and his past… but Sebastian seems like a good guy. Although I do know a good place to hide a body, if he ever tries to hurt you, just so you know," Jace continued, and Sebastian went from grinning, to once again appearing horrified.
"I guess what I'm getting at is that you're a good brother, and I'll try and be that as well for you in the future… not that I'm saying you're anywhere near as amazing as me, this level of perfection is impossible to replicate," Jace said, and Sebastian rolled his eyes, feeling more relaxed now that Jace seemed to be done and about to leave, that was until Sebastian heard Alec's voice.
"Hey Jace, did you need something?" Alec asked innocently.
"What…? I was just… I've been talking…" Jace stuttered.
Sebastian slowly turned the shower off and grabbed a towel to cover himself in just before Jace barged into the bathroom.
"I can explain…" Sebastian said, but he then failed to finish his sentence as he tried to come up with a plausible excuse.
" Ah, yes, the thing is…ummmm…" Alec started, although he too couldn't come up with any other reason for Sebastian to be in his shower, and after a moment he decided to simply come clean. "Well Jace I'm pretty sure you can figure out why Sebastian is in my shower."
"So you two… you know… right okay then. Sebastian you can just tell Alec what I meant to say to him, and I'll just leave you two alone," Jace said, and with a smirk he added, "not for too long though."
"There really are no secrets here are there?" Sebastian asked as he watched Jace leave.
"Oh, you'd be surprised. It's just that everybody seems to have the need to know what's happening in my love life. I don't know why they find it so interesting," Alec said as he turned to face Sebastian, his gaze instantly focusing on the water droplets highlighting every one of Sebastian's features.
"I find it pretty interesting," Sebastian replied as he stepped closer to Alec.
"You're a biased judge," Alec said, although it was clear his mind was not on the conversation at hand.
With a sigh Alec eventually peeled his eyes from Sebastian's form and looked over his shoulder.
"Come on then, we'd better face the day, or else we'll never end up leaving this room, and I don't think the Clave would appreciate our reason for not attending their meeting."
