The room was silent as the three men reacted to her story. Rick just stared at his hands thinking of the hardships this woman had gone through, losing her mother at such a young age, having a detached father for most of her childhood, then having to kill her little sister because she had turned into the monster that everyone fears. It was a wonder that she had survived this long with her sanity intact. Then there was Shane's reaction, he rubbed his hand over his shaven head letting out a long sigh as he paced the room trying to think of what to say.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Shane finally asked. Stopping and staring at the wounded woman, his penetrating gaze filled with a mixture of shock, anger and an ounce of worry.

"What different does it make?" Jen asked as she narrowed her eyes at Shane. "So what? I have a tragic backstory of a mother who died young and a girl who had to kill her own sister because of some horrid disease. Now you know? Has anything changed? Are you going to make me leave because you think I'm some lunatic who will do whatever it takes for survival?!" At this point Jennifer had raised her voice at Shane not caring who heard. It had been bad enough that she had to sit there and revisit the memories of her deceased sister, but now he wanted to make her out to be the bad guy because she didn't tell them?

"We're not gonna make you leave," Rick finally spoke in a level voice as Jennifer began to control her heavy breathing. "We just want to make sure you're okay."

"Well I am," she said looking down at her hands that were shaking as she gripped the bed sheets in clenched fists. She quickly released the sheet and flattened it back out over her lap.

"Good," Rick said as he stood from his chair and made his way out of the room, "We'll tell you if anything else comes up about Sam."

"Okay, thanks," Jen said as she watched the men leave. She was met with the narrow gaze of Daryl. What's his problem? Jen thought as he continued out of the room. A warm hand on the back of her neck brought her from her thoughts. A pair of rough, familiar lips met her and stayed there for a long while before pulling away.

"Please, don't do anything like that again," Shane whispered as he rested his forehead against Jennifer's. She nodded against his forehead before he continued, "Promise?"

"Promise," Jennifer whispered back before pressing her lips against his, pulling him closer for a more passionate kiss. He drew back, resting his large hand on the back of her head, giving her a gentle kiss on the forehead before leaving the room.

Jennifer let out a sigh before falling back onto the bed, wincing at the pain that shot through her back from the forgotten wound. That was pretty much how Jennifer spent her day, laying in the bed unable to do anything. Even getting to the bathroom was a difficult process but she had too much pride to have someone help escort her around. So there Jen was, stuck in the bedroom with no form of entertainment except the bible Hershel kept in the bed side table, for a day and a half. The only good thing about what was happening was that Carol would always come in there bringing her breakfast, lunch and dinner. The older woman would engaged Jen in conversation until the younger was finished with her meal. She would then excuse herself saying she needed to get back to work before telling Jen she would be back for her next meal. Jen enjoyed these talks with Carol, no matter how brief they usually were.

As Jennifer laid there staring at the white ceiling, tracing the barely visible cracks with her eyes. The sunny rays shone through the window on her feet, warming them even more than the bed spread they were tucked under. Everything was quiet and Jen started to close her eyes ready to take a small nap. Her back had healed a bit since the day before, making her slightly more mobile than she was before. But, being that it had only been a day and a half, the wound wasn't fully healed and there was still some pain when she did certain things.

A loud noise rang through the ear awakening Jen from her nap with a fright. She quickly scanned the room for any signs of danger, before jumping up to go investigate. She went to the window and peeked out of the window. She watched as everyone filed out of the house screaming and running for the RV. She saw Andrea and Dale hop off of the RV and began sprinting towards the woods. Past them, a little closer to the woods, she saw four or five figures dotted the land. One of the three figures looked as if it were being carried by two of the others but from her distance; she couldn't make out who it was.

Jennifer kept watch from the window until the group was in the vincinity of the house and Jennifer realized who they were caring. At first, it looked like a walk but upon further inspection, she realized it was Daryl. He looked terrible, his body was covered in dirt and his shirt had a large patch of blood soaking his side. Multiple patches of blood covered his face but the worst was one that grazed along the side of his head.

As the man was rushed into the house she could hear their footsteps leading to the room opposite of the one she was residing in. She heard the sound of a door close and someone sat against the wall adjacent to her bedroom.

With slow, careful footsteps she made her way to the door that led to the hallway. She pressed her ear to the door trying to hear something of the men's conversation. She could hear their muffled voices but was unable to hear what they were saying. Jennifer let out a puff of breath before tossing herself onto the bed. A little while later, she heard the door open and the muffled voices grew louder but she still couldn't make out what they were saying and she didn't have the energy to get up and listen.

"Well isn't this great?" Jennifer thought as she lay on the bed, her dark locks splayed over the light blankets covering the bed. "In the past few days we've been here, two of us have been shot and one of us was mauled by a panther. What a great start." She rolled her eyes.

Jennifer sat awkwardly at the head of the Green's dining table trying to enjoy the supper Lori and the other women had prepared. It would have been nice, save the awkward silence that filled the air, only being interrupted by the clanks of utensils on plates.

"Anyone know how to play guitar?" Glenn asked turning from the small table he was seated at to address the rest of the group. Glenn was placed at a smaller table with Maggie, Beth, and Jimmy while everyone else sat at the dining table, excluding Daryl and Carl who were still recovering. "Dale found this cool guitar; somebody has to know how to play."

"Otis did," Hershel's wife, whose name Jennifer could not remember for the life of her, said in a sad quiet voice as she stared down at her food. Jen's eyes quickly darted to Shane who looked even more uncomfortable than he did before it was brought up.

"Yes and he was very good," Hershel continued. The conversation then halted again and a cloud of awkwardness hung around the room, putting its tense pressure on everyone.

After finishing the most awkward dinner of her life, Jen took her clean plate into the kitchen where the women were scrubbing plates and cleaning dishes. Jennifer sat her plate on the counter where the rest were.

"Jennifer," Carol said before the girl was able to leave, "Could you do me a favor?"

"Of course, anything," Jennifer said walking over to the woman drying a plate.

"Could you bring that plate to Daryl for me please? I would hate for him to miss out on this just because he in hurt," the woman said nodding towards the plate of warm food that sat on the counter.

"Sure," Jen said scooping up the plate of food and walking back towards the rooms. Her bare feet slapped against the creaking wood floors as the delicious smell of dinner filled her nose. She stopped at the door and knocked before opening the door and entering. She was met with an odd sight when she entered. Daryl was lying on his side with his back to the door, he still wasn't wearing a shirt but that didn't bother her. What bothered her were the many scars that littered Daryl's back. He must've known she noticed because he quickly pulled the sheets up trying to hide them. Jen didn't have the chance to get a good look at them but she was able to tell one thing. Those scars were old, probably older than her.

"So I'm not the only one with a tragic back story," Jennifer thought as she pushed the scars from her mind and continued into the room.

"How are you feeling?" Jennifer asked. Expecting him to sit up, she just stood there like a dazed fool but when she realized it wasn't happening she moved to put the tray down on the bed side table. Her eyes roamed over Daryl's bare back, the scars that marked his body peeked from under the thin sheet.

"Bout as good as I look," he said in his raspy voice as he clutched the sheets to his chest in a wadded fistful. Jennifer didn't really know how to respond to that so she just brought up something else.

"Brought you some dinner. You must be starving," she said as he turned over slightly to look at her, "It was really good." His gaze moved to the plate of food that sat on the bedside table before moving back to Jen. A soft smile met her lips before disappearing. She then leaned in towards the man. He flinched slightly and she hesitated but then continued, giving him a small kiss on his temple. She then picked herself back up as Daryl stared at her with confusion.

"Watch out. I got stitches." He said as she stared down at the man.

"Me too," she whispered with a smirk before she made her way to the door. About halfway through the door frame she paused, turning back towards the man. "Thank you. Thank you for this. For all you've done"

"I didn't do anything Rick or Shane wouldn't have done," he said shifting his gaze from Jen as he readjusted himself on the pillow.

"I know," there was a pause in Jen's speaking as she tried to think of what she should say next. After that moment of pause she just let whatever was in her head slip out her mouth. "You're every bit as good as them. Every bit."

She pursed her lips before continuing out of the door, closing it behind her as she made her way across the hall to the room she was occupying. She walked into the room and gently closed the door behind her. Just as she was settling into bed a knock came from the door. There was no time to wait for her to invite the late night visitor in before he came barging into the room.

"Shane?" Jennifer asked as he quickly rushed to her. "What are yo-"

Before she could finish her question, Shane had already closed the door and cleared the space between them. He grabbed the sides of her face and brought her in for a long, passionate kiss. When they finally parted lips, Jennifer was left dazed and out of breath.

"What was that about?" Jennifer asked through breaths as she rested her forehead on Shane's, their breaths mingling in the distance between them.

"Just because," he said with a smirk. He then continued on pressing his lips to her as he slowly pushed her backwards while crawling on top of her. He held himself up on all fours over her body as he they continued the kiss. Shane moved his rough lips from Jennifer's mouth, making his way to her neck, leaving a trail of kisses as he did so. He immediately went for Jen's sweet spot, sucking on it until he got a low moan out of Jennifer. He then slipped his hand under her shirt, feeling the edge of her hot skin before his hand made contact with the bandages that covered her torso. She grabbed the hem of her shirt and began taking it off. Shane quickly joined in the process and their contact was broken for only a second before the shirt lay discarded on the floor and they continued. Soon, Shane's shirt joined Jennifer's on the ground along with both of their pants, leaving the couple in only their underwear. Shane began working his kisses downward, even placing gentle kisses on her bandaged torso until he met the lining of her panties. He gently scooted them down her soft legs and threw them on the floor. He then moved in and began kissing the inside of her thighs, making Jennifer squirm with excitement. He gave a small lick to her vaginal region; continue on with a number of licks, until he finally dug in. Jennifer put her hands on the back of his head as she twisted and moaned. She tried to be quiet but the sensation was so nice that she just couldn't help herself.

"Shane. Shane." She breathed out as she felt herself close to climaxing. With one last moan she climaxed and was left lying there panting as sweat dripped down her body and Shane inched his way up to her. Once his hips were aligned with hers he whipped out his hard cocked and thrust into Jennifer. She took in a sharp breath as he began to thrust into her. She was still recovering from her previous climax and now this was just too much to handle. He continued thrusting, lifting her legs up a little for a better position, just as she pulled herself up and latched onto his neck. He hugged her close to himself as he continued to pump in and out of her. Their hot breaths filled the room as they got closer and closer to the end. With one more grunt Shane came, his hot seed filling Jennifer. Soon, after Jennifer came for a second time, depleting her of all her strength. She fell back onto bed and Shane was soon to follow landing next to her. She lay on her back staring up at the ceiling breathing hard as Shane lay on his side staring at the beautiful woman before him.

She noticed his staring out of the corner of her eye and turned on her side to face him. Shane scooted closer to her and wrapped his muscular arms around her and pulled her in close. They didn't say anything for a moment as their breaths began to slow. Jennifer tucked her head into Shane's chest and he rested his head on top of hers.

"I love you, Jennifer." Shane said breaking the silence. Jennifer's eyes widened for a moment, taken aback by the sudden outburst. She quickly recovered, pushing herself away from the man so that she could look up at him.

"No you don't," she said simply with not a hint of anger or sadness, but simply a matter of fact almost laughable attitude. "You love Lori."

That was a hit Shane was definitely not expecting, He was left stunned and speechless as she turned her back towards him and drifted off into dreamland.
