A Love That Lasts

Chapter 15

"Sebastian, what do you want?"

"Is that any way to speak to me, Hummel?"

Kurt glared at his phone the way he would if Sebastian had been in the room and shot a glance to Blaine and turned on speakerphone.

"What?" Blaine demanded angrily, not hesitating to yell into the phone.

"Temper, temper," Sebastian remarked.

"Yeah I really wouldn't be expecting common courtesy Sebastian," Kurt snapped. "You certainly don't deserve it."

"Oh this is fun," Sebastian joked.

"Get to the point," Blaine said angrily. "We were having a good day until you called."

"Fine, you know about that Presidential fundraiser, the one this Saturday? The one all the celebrities are going to be at?" Sebastian asked.

"Of course I know about it," Kurt replied testily. "I live in the White House, not under a rock."

"I want to be your plus one," Sebastian said.

"No way," Kurt said quickly. He had been about to ask Blaine to join him at the fundraiser.

"Fine then," Sebastian said calmly. "I do have E! News on speed dial. I can just tell them-"

"He will take you," Blaine said quickly.

"Wait a minute," Kurt replied, his mind spinning. "I don't think that will be possible, my Dad knows you are not my soul mate. He will wonder where Blaine is."

"That will be your problem Hummel," Sebastian replied, almost gleefully. "I will be there at six on Saturday, no tricks with the Secret Service this time or I will sing like a bird to the closest paparazzi."

Kurt hung up the phone before Sebastian could talk again. He stood up quickly and threw down his phone on the table angrily. "How on earth am I going to stand to be in that-" Kurt cursed and then turned to Blaine. "You should still come, I can still get you in."

"Probably not a good idea," Blaine replied sadly. "That is a highly publicized event and I shouldn't be seen, my parents won't like it if they find out I was there. There will be other times Kurt, graduation isn't that far away."

Kurt sighed, "It won't be the same without you there and I swear if Sebastian even thinks that he is going to get away with kissing me then he will regret it in the morning."

"Right," Blaine said with a small smile drawing close to Kurt. "Because those lips are mine."

"All yours," Kurt breathed as he closed the short distance between them and kissed Blaine softly on the lips. Blaine deepened the kiss and pulled his boyfriend into his arms, wrapping his hands around Kurt's waist.

Breathlessly they pulled apart. "You can always text me during the fundraiser," Blaine said gently. "And I will expect a phone call after."

Kurt smiled. "How did I get so lucky to have the most understanding soul mate on the planet?"

"I'm the lucky one," Blaine replied honestly. "You are stunning Kurt, any man would kill to be your soul mate."

"We are going to have to disagree then," Kurt said. "Because you are incredible Blaine Anderson and don't let anyone tell you any differently.

Like magnets, they were drawn together in another embrace, and two young lovers once again couldn't believe they finally found their match.

"Kurt, are you ready to head out?"

Kurt turned from the mirror where he was checking his outfit over and look at his father in his doorway.

"Just about," Kurt answered. "My date is on the way."

"Great," Burt said with a smile. "It will be good to see Blaine again."

"Blaine isn't my date," Kurt said nervously.

"I thought he was your soul mate. Why the hell are you not taking him?" Burt asked.

"No, Blaine is my soul mate. I don't have any doubt of that. I'm bringing a friend, I promised him. Blaine knows and understands, and besides he couldn't come anyway."

"You are not being blackmailed or anything, right?" Burt asked. "What is this kid's name?"

Kurt hesitated for a second before answering. "No, I'm not being blackmailed. Like I said, I owe him a favor and this is it. I'm bringing Sebastian."

"What?!" Burt exclaimed.

Kurt held up a hand before his father could overreact any more. "We are friends now," he lied. "And all that happened in the past has been forgiven, he's not such a bad guy."

It was a good thing Blaine was worth it, because Kurt hated lying to his father. He hated Sebastian even more for making him do this.

"Alright," Burt replied. "I will give him the benefit of the doubt. The limo is waiting,"

Kurt went downstairs a few minutes later to see Sebastian standing in the foyer looking incredibly smug. He wanted nothing more than to wipe that arrogant smirk off his face for good. But he had to go through with this, Blaine was counting on him.

The fundraiser was just like every other obnoxious political event that Kurt was forced to attend. The rich and famous rubbing elbows with politicians, and endless networking, scheming, and the formation of alliances for the next election. It was normally enough to make Kurt want to scream but in this case he was even more miserable because of his 'date'. Sebastian was a world class schmoozer and he couldn't resist telling everyone he was Kurt's boyfriend. It was enough to make Kurt want to scream obscenities at the boy, but then he was the President's son and he had a reputation to uphold.

To Blaine: HELP!

To Kurt: It can't be that bad.

To Blaine: If he tells one more person that he is my boyfriend I'm going to have to punch him.

To Kurt: I would love to see that!

To Blaine: You are not helping. By the way he has sweaty hands, like GROSS!

To Kurt: I'm sorry you have to put up with him.

To Blaine: You are worth it. So what are you doing while I contemplate methods of murder?

To Kurt: Reading that stuff about Charlemagne for history class- BORING!

To Blaine: Sadly I would much rather be studying than dealing with Sebastian, heck I would rather take a test than deal with this guy.

To Kurt: You can make it, the night is almost over.

To Blaine: You are right. I will call you as soon as I'm home, I miss you.

To Kurt: I miss you too.

"Let's dance," Sebastian said in Kurt's ear.

"Let's not," Kurt replied, sliding his phone in his pocket.

"I want to dance, you will dance with me," Sebastian said annoyed.

"Fine Master," Kurt scoffed and took Sebastian's sweaty hand as they walked on the dance floor.

Nothing much was said as they swayed gently to the beat but Kurt made a point of stepping on Sebastian's toes at every possible chance.

"Oops," Kurt said, not sorry at all. "Guess I can't dance well."

"You and I both know you are doing that on purpose," Sebastian replied.

"Well next time you are being forced to dance against your will, we can talk," Kurt snapped.

The danced the rest of the dance in silence and then Sebastian pulled Kurt out on the patio, a Secret Service agent following at a distance close enough to intervene if needed.

"What do you want, Sebastian?" Kurt asked irritated. "I'm ready to go home."

But before Kurt could say anything else he suddenly felt an unwelcomed pair of lips on his, as Sebastian kissed him forcefully. It felt so completely wrong, so NOT Blaine that all his senses were screaming out. And then out of the corner of his eye he saw a bright flash and in the second it took for him to realize what was going on, Kurt instantly reacted. He raised his knee swiftly and made direct contact with Sebastian's sensitive area and the man fell whimpering in pain as he clutched himself.

"What the hell was that?" Kurt demanded motioning to the Secret Service agent that he could handle it.

"Kissing my boyfriend," Sebastian stated simply, rising to his feet gingerly.

"You are not my boyfriend," Kurt snapped.

"No?" Sebastian asked. "Well that's too bad because the entire country is going to think that very soon."

Sebastian turned and looked at the paparazzi who was fleeing the area before they could get the caught. The same paparazzi who had taken a picture of Sebastian kissing Kurt. What would Blaine think? Heck, what would his father think?

"Shit!"

AN: Well I'm alive! I know I haven't updated in forever, my only excuse was Darren coma in June (3 concerts in 3 states, met the man twice and I almost died when he called me 'baby'), July I was distracted by seeing Starkid in Twisted and a trip out of state just to see Darren in Girl Most Likely , and yeah I know those are really awful excuses.
