Athenodora smiled brightly at her daughter as Adriana was helped into her dress. It was her baby's sixteenth birthday and as requested by her daughter, she was having a sweet sixteen. Athenodora made sure everything was the way her daughter wanted it to be with the help of Alice Cullen and Kate Denali. Esme Cullen and Carmen helped Didyme with the food and drinks, even though only Adriana and the humans are the only ones eating. While Tanya and Rosalie were with Adriana and Heidi picking out the dress, shoes and Adriana's jewelry.
Adriana has been all smiles since she was awoken by Felix and Emmett early this morning. Being with one of her mates and one of her brothers made the best morning wake up. Rosalie cooked Adriana's favorite breakfast while Alice picked out her clothes for the day. Adriana's morning was filled with love and 'happy birthdays'. And she loved every minute she spent with her family.
When Alice said it was time for Adriana to get ready, Didyme rushed her niece up the stairs and into her room. Didyme pulled out the dress out of the walk in closet while Adriana went to shower. The dress was a strapless blue sweetheart ballroom style. The top was a light sky blue that turned darker as the dress fell to the floor. The bottom of the dress puffed out into ruffles. There is sliver diamond and beaded work across the top and belt line of the dress. Adriana fell in love with the dress the second she laid her lavender eyes on it.
Once the dress was laying perfectly on Adriana's tiny yet curvy frame, she was brought to a chair for her makeup. Alice quickly set to work on the blue eye shadow that like her dress went from light to dark. Clear lip-gloss was placed on her pink lush lips. Alice smiled as she finished her masterpiece by adding a little eyeliner and mascara. Once Alice stepped away, Rosalie went to work on the golden tresses. Loose curls the flowed down Adriana's back with her bangs straighten and placed behind her ears was the hairstyle that both Rosalie and Tanya picked. Heidi carefully handed Rosalie one of the many tiaras that belonged to the vampire princess. The tiara was sliver with light and dark sapphires and diamonds decorating it. The tiara was placed where the bangs was separated from the rest of the golden hair.
Athenodora walked up to her daughter with a necklace that used to belong to the queen herself. "My beautiful daughter I am passing down to you the first necklace your father bought me."
Adriana gasped as she felt the cold heavy weight of her mother's necklace on her delicate neck and chest. She looked down to see her mother most prized necklace shining in the mirror. The diamond and sapphire ancient necklace was huge yet elegant and beautiful. Ever since she saw this necklace when she was two years old, Adriana dreamed what it would be like to wear this necklace and words cannot describe how happy she feels right now.
"Thank you, Mama." Adriana stood from her chair and hugged her mother tightly.
"Time for shoes, Addie." Alice spoke once the mother and daughter stopped hugging.
The shoes were silver/glitter platform pumps. Heidi picked these out once Adriana found her dress, saying that the shoes are perfect for her dress. Adriana smiled as she slipped her painted toes into the heels with the help of Alice. Adriana was leaning on Tanya while Rosalie made sure the princess didn't fall backwards.
Adriana walked around her room to get used to the feel of the heels once more. She whipped around when there was a knock on the door. It opened and there stood her fathering his black suit, silvery gray dress shirt and dark blue tie. His hair was slicked back and there was the smile that is only for his princess lighting up the King's face. He held a small jewelry box in his hand as she walked to his daughter.
"Hi Daddy!" Adriana spoke around the bright smile on her young face.
"Hello my princess, I see your mother gave you her gift." Adriana nodded her head as her eyes focused on the box in her father's hand. He gave her the box with a kiss on her forehead. "My gift to you, princess."
Inside the box laid a ring on black silk. The ring was ancient just like her mother's necklace. The huge dark blue sapphire sat in the middle of diamonds, kinda making it look like a sun. Caius plucked the ring and placed in on her right ring finger before placing a kiss on the gem.
"It's beautiful, Daddy." Adriana smiled brightly at her father and hugged him.
"Come my princess, it's time for your entrance."
Her father led her and the other women to the main doors to the throne room, where Emmett was already waiting. After a very hard decision, Adriana chose Emmett to walk her in instead of a guard. This is her sweet sixteen, not a royal gathering. If she doesn't want a guard to escort her in, she's not going to have a guard with her.
Emmett smiled down at the tiny half vampire and took her arm from his king. The others walked in and shut the door behind them. Emmett stood proudly next to the vampire princess with a soft smile on his face.
"You look beautiful, Cupcake." Emmett said as Aro started his speech about the young vampire princess.
"And you look very handsome, Emmy-bear."
The door opened and Emmett led the princess into the throne room. There was penalty of gasps or shocked cries as they watched a non-Volturi walk in with the Princess of all Vampires on his arm. Emmett just smiled and walked Adriana to wear her father stood in the center of the room. Emmett kissed Adriana on the cheek before walking over to his mate.
Soft music started to play as Caius and Adriana began to dance. The king and Princess danced around the dance floor as every vampire watched. Caius and Adriana whispered their love to each other, so quietly that no vampire could hear.
"You will always be my little girl, no matter what. I will always love you, my princess." Caius whispered in his daughter's ear as the song came to a close. Adriana with tears in her eyes kissed her father on the cheek and hugged herself to him. Another round of gasps rang out as the vampires watched their cold hearted king be a father right in front of them.
"Everyone, please enjoy yourselves!" Aro shouted out and everyone got the hint to leave the still hugging pair alone.
Caius leaned away from his daughter and wiped away the tears that were running down her face. He kissed both of her cheeks before leading her to his throne. Caius helped Adriana sit in his precious throne. He stood at her side as guests came up and handed the princess gifts or happy birthdays. Caius was soon joined by Demetri and Felix who both took guard next to their mate. Caius moved to stand behind his throne with his arms resting on the back of his throne. One hand dropped down and rested on Adriana's head as she talked to her guests with a bright smile on her face.
Once the gifts were opened, Adriana spent the rest of the party dancing with different partners. If one of her dancing partners wasn't trusted by her mates, Felix and Demetri would take their dancing partner closer to Adriana. Even with her overprotective mates, Adriana was laughing with glee and smiling with joy.
Adriana started to get tired around one in the morning, so her mates walked the tired princess up to her room as the party continued. Demetri unzipped the dress while Felix took off her tiara. Felix placed the tiara back to its rightful place while Adriana changed into her pajamas. She washed off her makeup and washed out the hairspray in her hair while her mates ran to their rooms to grab their gifts. Adriana walked out into her empty room and frowned but it was wiped off of her face as Felix walked back into her room with Demetri right behind him.
Adriana unclipped her new necklace and placed it into her jewelry box while her mates sit on the large round bed. Adriana sits in between her mates and brings her legs up to sit criss cross. Demetri handed her a small thin box with a small smile. Adriana opens it to see a golden locket with a rose engraved onto it. Adriana smiles as she picks up the locket and lays it on her palm. She opens the locket and sees two pictures on either side already. On one side was a picture of her when she was just born in the arms of her mother with her father standing behind them with his arms around his wife. The two parents were looking down at their daughter with smiles on their faces. On the opposite side was a picture of her, when she was one years old, sitting on Demetri's lap with Felix lying in front of them. Demetri was smiling as Felix was making goofy faces at a laughing Adriana.
With tears running down her face, she kissed Demetri on the cheek before letting him clip the necklace around her neck. Demetri dropped a kiss on the hollow part of her neck were the chain rested.
Felix smiled at the two of them before handing Adriana his present. Adriana torn into the large box and with a squeal she pulled out an acoustic guitar. She hugged Felix around his large neck before setting up the stand and gently placing her guitar onto it. She always wanted to learn to play the guitar. She has already mastered the piano and every other classical instrument in the castle and wanted a new challenge in the music field. Adriana loves music as much as Felix loves fighting or her father loves scaring people. Music has been the only thing her uncle Aro hasn't forced her to learn. Same with dancing, drawing, painting or singing. It was something SHE wanted to learn not something Aro wanted her to learn. Her father made Heidi and Chelsea set up a room in his wing for Adriana to practice all that she loves. In the room is every instrument she has ever played every painting she ever painted every song she has ever written, ever drawing she has drawn and that was where she danced every dance she wanted to learn. That room she where she mostly spends her day, either that or the library or her garden. Those are the three places she finds peace and quiet. Those are her places to hide in. They are her safe heavens when everything gets too much for the young princess.
"Thank you so much, the both of you gave me wonderful and thoughtful gifts. I love them just like I love the two of you." Adriana said as she placed her hands on her mates' cheeks. She looked into Felix's blood red eyes before lightly kissing his lips. She turned and did the same to Demetri before climbing back into bed. Felix and Demetri follow her and lay next to their mate as she slept peacefully.
That was their first real kiss with their young mate and their cold lips still tingled from her warm kiss.
