A nineteen year old blonde beauty sat on the piano bench and pressed the keys softly. Playing the song Marcus taught her. It was the first real song she has ever learned and it is her favorite to play. It reminds her of a lullaby. Actually it was her lullaby that only her favorite uncle can play. Her mother would hold Adriana in her arms as Marcus played the song. Adriana would slowly go to sleep in her mother's arms as her father and mates watched over them.
The lullaby, her lullaby is the only song that can relax her with just the first note. The song reminds her of her childhood with Marcus. The times she would run around the piano as Marcus played. The times she would sit next to him and watched his fingers move over the black and white keys smoothly. All the songs Marcus taught her. All the books he read to her. The times he helped her learn to read and write. The lessons where she learn different languages.
Marcus was always the calm one. He was the one she would sit with when she wanted quiet. He was the only she would be with when she just needed to think but didn't want to be alone. They would sit in the library for hours not talking, just reading.
Now that she is older, she spends less time with her father and uncle. She needs to be an adult now and do adult things. Like being a quiet and corporative princess that lives in the tower and is only allowed out to shop with guards following her around everywhere. She is trapped in here. She isn't even allowed out in her garden without someone with her.
She hates it.
She hates being watched.
She hates being followed.
She hates being a princess.
She wants to leave this place for a little bit. Do her own thing. Get out of the castle for at least a week.
She needs to run.
She needs a vacation.
Stopping the song short, Adriana stands up from the piano bench. Her purple silk gown flowed to the ground and lay on her bare feet. She walked to her father's office and knock gently on the large wooden doors in front of her.
"Enter, My Princess." Caius' voice was soft as he spoke to his daughter but still held dominance.
Adriana walked in and Caius' lips twitch as he watches his daughter enter the room. She looked like an angel. Her golden blonde hair ran down her back in waves. The purple silk nightgown made her purple eyes shine lighter, almost lavender in color. His baby girl is a beautiful grown woman.
"What is troubling you, my princess?" Caius asked once she sat in her chair. The only color in the white and black room. A violet leather chair sat right next to his large black one. He made sure it was always right next to his. His baby girl will always be right next to him, no matter what.
"I want to go on a vacation." Adriana sighs as she looks into her father dark red ones. He needs to feed soon. "I want to go away with my mates and get away from the castle. I'm never alone with my mates. I'm always followed by some lower guard. I had to make Felix threaten the one today just so I can be in my studio alone. Daddy, it's horrible. I feel trapped. I have to get away from all of this. If only for a week. Please daddy, I need to leave the castle." Adriana pleaded with her father to understand where she is coming from, what she is dealing with. She needs this.
"Alright My Princess, I will set everything up for you and your mates to go on a vacation."
"Thank you, Daddy." Adriana stands up from her chair and kisses Caius' cheek before walking out of her father's office and walks toward her bedroom.
She rolls her purple eyes as she took noticed the two lower guards standing in front of her bedroom. She turns on her heels and run down to the throne room.
Aro was talking quietly with the royal guard when the throne room doors were thrown open. There stood his niece, his very angry niece. She looked so much like her father when she is pissed. Adriana and Caius have the same facial expressions when angered. Both are also very easily angered.
"What is wrong, my dear?" Aro asked as he stood from his throne and met his niece in the middle of the throne room.
"Call off the guards in front of my bedroom. My bedroom is my place to be alone with my mates. No one else is allowed to be anywhere near that room, daddy's orders. He doesn't want any guard besides a royal guard to be anywhere near my room unless they are getting me or my mates. Call them off right NOW!"
The air in the throne room got colder as Adriana screamed at her uncle. Everyone besides Demetri and Felix shivered from the cold temperature. Her mates were used to the frigid coldness that surrounded the room. Having worked with their young mate control her ability better.
"It is for your own protection." Aro was trying to be reasonable with his niece. All he wanted was for her to be safe, why is she so angry?
"Protection? Protection? I don't need their protection. I don't need anyone's protection. That's why I have my mates. They protect me. My father protects me. I protect myself. I don't need to be babysat like I'm two years old again. I am nineteen years old. I know how to protect myself. You don't get to deicide I need to be protected. YOU ARE NOT MY FATHER! My father knows that I can stand up for myself. My father knows that I have two very powerful and very deadly mates to protect me. I don't need nor do I want some lower status guard following me around like some lost puppy. I am not your child. You can't make me listen to you. I have a father. I don't need another one." Adriana turns on her heel and walks up to her bedroom once more, leaving all but two vampires in the throne room speechless.
When she got to her bedroom the two lower guards were still there. She walks up to them and glares up at the two males.
"Leave."
"But Princess Adriana, master Aro-"
"I don't give a shit what master Aro said. I'm telling you to leave, NOW." Adriana points down the hallway she just came from. She watches as the two guards leave the hallway.
Once she was sure they were gone she walked into her room and shut the door. She smiles at the comfortable quietness her bedroom offers. She walks over to her bed and jumps onto it. She lies with her arms spread and her feet dangling off of the bed. The bed moved when the giant wolf joined her.
Mage was only a pup when Felix found him during a mission. Mage walked up to the giant vampire and followed everyone of Felix's steps. Felix looked down that the icy blue eyes of the wolf and caved in. Adriana was seventeen when Mage joined their family. Once Mage saw Adriana, he would never leave her side. He followed his master everywhere she went besides when he is tired and would just lay on the round bed until Adriana came back.
The princess laid her head next to Mage and yawned quietly. Mage and Adriana move up towards the pillows and curled up. Mage with his head on a pillow and Adriana with her head on Mage.
