Hey everyone! It's 2014, so I decided to update. Sorry for not being able to... School has been a pain in the arse and I've been doing a lot of stuff, I found time to write tdelay so I hope you enjoy!

~Painful Goodbyes~

After she agreed to go back with Ikuto, Amu looked at her surroundings and started to feel a terrible burning sensation in her throat as if it was tearing itself apart. She had a tight grip on it "My… throat…!" Amu rasped. In one swift movement, Ikuto took his katana and slit his wrist "Drink." He commanded

"No! I-Blood… I can't!" Amu's eyes started to turn red, her fangs bore, her head started to feel dizzy, she could smell a sweet yet corrupting scent of Blood. Amu's eyes started darting to one injured soldier to another and eventually, her eyes landed on Tadase's would on his chest. "… No…" she whispered "Drink or else you might attack your people!"

With a clench of her fist, Amu turned around, not facing her people and started sucking the blood off Ikuto's wrist, causing him to bite his lip. Tadase and her people watched in sorrow and in shock as they saw their princess change right in front of them.

She sucked and sucked, Amu didn't know what was happening to her, she hated blood and yet… she didn't want to stop.

"Ama- Amu, that's enough" Ikuto took his wrist back as soon as Amu's eyes turned back into honey gold eyes, which he loved so much.

"Tha-thank you…" Amu wiped her face and looked at her handkerchief, and then she looked at the battlefield that they were in. She saw, smelled and touched the blood that was surrounding them; Feeling sick to the stomach, she felt weak on her knees then collapsed on the ground with her conscious still in tack.

"What just happened?" Kakuai asked, Kairi went beside her and checked her. "It seems that she's in a state of shock, I'm guessing its from her being a vampire?" Tadase shook his head "No, shes done this before when we were training… its from all the blood"

"Blood?" "Yeah… she hates it"

Ikuto couldn't take his eyes of her, it was really her in front of him but he still couldn't believe it. His long lost princess... He looked up from his gaze and saw the vampire slayer prince in front of him. "It's been a while hasn't it... Tadase" he mumbled.

They were in the castle of the Vampire slayers, Amu was sound asleep in her room whilst Tadase, Ikuto and the Elders had a meeting about Amu's custody. It seems that even the Elders do not know who gave Amu to the late king. Ikuto was out of options, it seems to look for the culprit, he had to start from scratch.

After the meeting had ended, Tadase was being taken care of by the doctors together with the other soldiers, Kakuai & Utau together with Kairi & Yaya decided to head back and report to the happenings to the South vampire kingdom.

Nagi & Rima wanted to wait for Ikuto and Amu.

Tadase had just been treated when he entered Amu's room to find Ikuto, staring softly at her. "Indeed, too long Ikuto"

Tadase saw him smirk "So what are you going to do now?" Ikuto questioned the blonde "Unfortunately for you, she is my fiancé and she has to come home with me. You on the other hand?"

"She's my beloved sister... As long as she wants it, I'll give her anything. Her being happy is fine for me" Ikuto couldn't help but raise a brow "So, you're giving up on her? When we were little, have I ever taught you to give up?"

Amu started moving and eventually opened her eyes. "Good morning Tadase-nii and..." She nearly jumped as her eyes lay on Ikuto's face. She grabbed her knife, which was hidden in her desk, and said "What is a vampire doing here?!" She hissed.

Wide eyed, both Ikuto and Tadase tilted their head towards Amu's reaction. "Amano, calm down... Don't you remember what happened last night?"

She looked from her brother to Ikuto. Images of last night flashed through her mind as well as the vision of a young vampire princess. From the sudden shock, Amu's knees gave out.

Before Tadase could reach her, Ikuto caught her and laid her on the bed "Tha-thank you... Vampire prince" All he could do was nod. Ikuto was still having a hard time processing that his enemy was now his beloved.

"If you excuse me" Ikuto left the room before he could say something that he would regret and also for Tadase and Amu to sort things out before she left.

"Aman- I mean... Amu" Tadase took a seat beside her bed and held Amu's hand. "Nii-san" was all she could say.

"Amu, I-I want you to know that, even if you're a vampire... You're still my little sister, the one I love and is apart of my family. No matter what decisions you choose to make, I want you to know that I'm always by your side" His grip tightend

Amu's eyes started to tear up. "Nii-San!" Tadase pulled her close to him, she clung onto his shirt and started sobbing.

"I-I don't know what to do! I was entrusted to protect the kingdom and now... I'm a vampire! The same beings that killed mama and papa! Nii-San! I'm so lost! They all want me to go to their kingdom, to my old home..is it this is my home! I-I don't want to leave everyone I hold dear here"

Tadase's eyes watered up, he wanted to cry too but he knew that he had to be strong for his beloved sister, who was going away any second. He didn't want her to leave either, he wanted her to stay by his side to rule the kingdom. But Tadase knew that he couldn't be selfish.

"Shh... Don't cry please Aman-... Amu" "My name Amano. That's all I have left here in this kingdom. No matter where I am or what my name is... I want everyone to remember me as Amano, their vampire slayer princess and strategist. Not the vampire princess Amu"

He stiffly nodded "Amu, I-I..." Amu smiled onto him "I know Nii-San... I love you t- ack!" Amu's throat started to hurt again, her eyes turned red and she bore her fangs once more. Frightened, Amu pushed Tadase to get away from her.

She looked at him, he could clearly heart his heart beating and his blood flowing through his veins. "Nii-San, run!" Tadase just stood there "I guess your thirst wont go away for long if its not human blood..." He took Amu's knife and slit his palm

Amu's eyes widened in horror "Tadase Nii-San! What are you doing!?" "I'm helping you Amu"

He slowly approached her, Amu knew that she had no choice. "Hurry before that so-called-fiancé of yours comes in here" he hissed the word fiancé. Amu gulped, she held Tadase's hand and drank.

Somewhere in the castle walls, three vampires sat restlessly. Nagi stood up "Ikuto... Do you smell that?" Rima frowned as Ikuto spoke "It's for the best, she'll need someone who is willing to give her blood anytime she needs it"

"You mean use him as a blood bank..." Rima whispered before leaving, she didn't want to see Ikuto's pained face. "He spoke as if he doesn't care... But your face can't hide your true feelings Ikuto"

Nagi approached her and hugged her from behind, since Rima was smaller than him, he rested his head on top of her blond hair. "That's true, but that just shows on how much he loves Amu... Even though he still has mixed feelings, he can't stop the fact that she's his"

"She... Doesn't remember us. not even me... Her best friend" Nagi held her tightly "Even if she doesn't get her memories back, get along with her... And who knows, you might become best friends again"

Rima nodded "I hope so"

She packed all her necessary belongings, said her goodbyes and just before she entered the carriage, the people of the kingdom went to rush over to pay their respects by tossing roses into the air "Amano-sama!" The crowd cheered with tears in their eyes.

A special group came towards her, it was the team she was in charge of, Team C together with Kojiro and behind them were the other soldiers.

Kojiro stepped forward and handed her a bouquet Of roses "On behalf of the soldiers and villagers. I, lieutenant Kojiro Yamasaki, present you these flowers. You guided us through every battle, you gave us support to those in need and most of all, you gave us strength to move on. Thank you Hime, Human or Vampire, you will always be our princess"

Amu looked around her, she saw her villagers, soldiers, and the people from the castle, smiling at her.

"Everyone… I'll be back soon! so take care of the kingdom when I'm gone" she held back her tears and entered the carriage.

As soon as the kingdom and her people were no longer at sight, she silently cried and cried until she finally got a hold of herself. That's when Amu realized where she was.

She was in a carriage and the person in front of her was no other than the North Vampire prince, Ikuto. "This is pitiful" she mumbled under her breath "What was that?" Ikuto couldn't help but react as he normally would, but he knew that before her change, she was his enemy. He cut her down. He killed her.

Avoiding her eyes, Ikuto looked at her shaking hands. "Are… are you cold?" "… No… How can you talk to me like that? I mean, we were enemies!" "I know…"

"How are we even sure if I am your princess?" Amu locked her eyes on his. "I… can't say…" he lifted his hand to his heart and closed his eyes "I can just feel it, I know you're my sweet Amu" she could feel her chest tightening.

Maybe he was right? "North Prin-""Call me Ikuto" "… Ikuto… If I really am the princess, what would you do?"

He looked out the window "I'd introduce you to your parents, your people, and our kingdom. Then…." His face changed from a soft expression to a hardened one. "Then I'd look for that bastard that took you away from me, return your memories and kill him"

"But what if we can't return my memories?" Ikuto touched Amu's hand gently with a caring smile on his face and said "Then we can make new memories, together with everyone, even with the humans and the Vampire slayer prince"

"That would be nice" Amu couldn't help but feel that whatever she was doing, felt right. But as she glanced by the window, a shadow with golden bleeding eyes was watching her with a creepy smile on its face.

Amu panicked and jumped away from the window "Kyaaa!" "Amu, what's wrong?!" Amu looked back at the window, it was gone. "I… Its nothing" Ikuto moved and sat beside her, hugging her in his arms. "You should get some rest"

'So warm and familiar' she thought until she fell into a deep sleep in the prince's arms.

He didn't know what he was doing until it was too late. Why was he hugging her so tightly? A former enemy, one he killed without hesitation or remorse. "Amu" That name he whispered, he knew it felt right… But his feelings for her as a human did not go away so quickly.

Ikuto hugged her tighter and sighed "She probably hates me and yet… I'm doing this to her" Amu couldn't help but move a little. "I hope this is the right thing to do"

Amu opened her eyes; she wasn't in the carriage with Ikuto anymore. She was in a dark forest; Amu looked around and saw a little girl with pink hair crying. "Mommy… Daddy… Ikuto-nii where are you?" the little girl whimpered.

'Is this… me?" A black shadow came closer to the little girl. 'Is this a memory? Maybe it has some clues about how to get my other memories back!' The little Amu shivered in fear of the unknown shadow coming closer.

"… Amu…" It whispered in a ghostly tone. "Who is it?" The shadow opened its eyes, revealing the bloody golden eyes Amu saw before she fell asleep. Amu fell to the ground 'No… It's that scary thing…' she looked at her younger self, who showed the same amount of fear as she did.

"Wha-what do you want?" The shadow grinned and slowly whispered into her ear "Everything you hold dear to you"
