Secrets
Chapter 6: Realization
"He what?" Sora's jaw dropped as I told him about the night before. "He... he kissed you?" I nodded and grabbed a beer out of his fridge.
"Larxene walked in and he just pounced on me. He said he was trying to drop her a hint." I lifted myself up onto his counter and opened the bottle of beer. "Where's your mom at?"
"She's at the grocery store... so wait a minute. He kissed you to do what?" I chuckled a little.
"He kissed me because Larxene wasn't getting the hint that he didn't like her. He was trying to chase her away." Sora sighed and leaned against the counter beside of me.
"How'd Larxene get in anyway? Did she have a key?" I nodded.
"Yeah, she had a key. I don't know why, though."
"She stays at his place every Friday night. She lives a good few miles out of town and whenever the Organization has a meeting, she stays at Axel's place." We both looked over at the silver-haired man.
"Riku? How'd you get in here?" Sora's mom walked passed Riku and placed some groceries on the counter.
"Your mom let me in." Sora shoved me off of the counter and grabbed the beer out of my hand, hiding it behind his back.
"Hey, mom. Did you get everything you need?" She nodded and took a seat at the dining table. "Well, if you need anything, we'll be up in my room!" Riku and I followed Sora, quickly waving to his mom before running up the stairs.
Sora closed the door gently behind him.
"Sora, I know you love your mom and everything, but I really think it's time for you to move out." I nodded as Riku confronted the brunet.
"Yeah, I know. But I'm trying to save up some money first, y'know? I've only been out of college for a few months." Sora took a seat on his bed, his lower lip sticking out in a slight pout.
"Well, what if you got a room mate? I have an extra room if you're interested..." I watched as Sora smiled and jumped up off the bed and into his lover's arms.
"Really? You wouldn't mind?"
I cleared my throat.
"Hey, guys? Could we get back to the problem at hand, please?" Sora and Riku separated and took their seats on his bed.
"What's going on, anyway?" Riku looked at Sora curiously.
"Axel kissed him last night..."
"He what?" Riku looked at me in utter shock.
"Only to piss Larxene off. Evidently he's been trying to get her to back off for a few weeks." Riku nodded understandingly and frowned.
"Well, that would make sense. She's had a thing for Axel since she joined the Organization." A cocky smile played upon his lips as he slowly turned to look at Sora, then back at me. "But the question is... did you like it?"
"What?!" I scoffed and avoided staring into his aquamarine eyes. "Of course I didn't like it! No offense, but I'm not really into guys."
"Sure, sure. Then why are you blushing?" Sora shook his head and nudged his boyfriend.
"Stop it, Riku. He has to figure this out on his own." Riku laughed a little and fell back onto the bed.
"Whatever you say..."
"I think I'm gonna head out. I'll see you around, alright?" I got up and walked toward his bedroom door. Sora ran over to me, walking with me into the hallway and closing the door behind him.
"Look, Roxas. I know how you're probably feeling right now, but just know this... denial isn't an option. If you felt something when he kissed you, don't try to ignore it. Don't be afraid of who you are." I chuckled a little bit before turning to walk away.
"Don't worry about it, Sora. The only thing I felt was disgust." I waved at him over my shoulder and headed home.
As I walked down the street, I couldn't help but think about Axel. The way it felt when he touched me, the warmth of his kiss and the sound of his voice. I had never felt anything like this before. And I hated it. I heard the distant sound of footsteps ahead of me and looked up.
"Kairi?" The brunette waved at me and ran over.
"Hey, Roxas! I was just heading home. What're you up to?" I smiled at her and took her hand in mine.
"This may be weird, but... would you like to go back to my place?" The curves of her body were all that I could see in the silhouetted form before me, the bright sunset glowing behind her.
"Oh?" She giggled a little before looking up at me with heavy-lidded eyes. "Why not?"
I watched her as she got dressed. She was beautiful. My blue eyes traced her body...
"Thank you, Roxas." I cocked my head in confusion. "I really needed that..." She giggled a little before crawling back onto the bed and kissing my cheek. She put on her jacket and grabbed her purse. "I'll see you around?" I nodded.
"Kairi, wait. You know that this..." I got out of my bed and walked over to her, grabbing my jeans along the way. "This was just a..."
"One time thing, right?" I nodded as I slid my pants up and buttoned them.
"Yeah. We're good friends and I don't wanna screw it up. We both needed this, though... and don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed it!" She smiled and kissed my cheek again.
"I understand." I escorted her outside, thankful that I lived on the first floor of the apartment complex. She gave me a hug and walked down the dark street. I watched her as I leaned against the door frame. My eyes squinted slightly as a tall man walked passed her and headed toward me.
Axel.
"Well, well, well. I'm guessing you two had a blast." I tried to close the door on him, but he quickly ran up and stopped me. "Look, I just want to talk, ok? Let me in."
We both walked into my apartment. He took a seat at my dining room table as I went to put a shirt on. I walked back out and leaned against the wall, my azure eyes meeting green.
"What do you want to talk about?" I crossed my arms.
"Last night..." He turned away from me. "Did you feel anything when I kissed you?" I thought back to the kiss. I could still feel his lips against mine, his hands softly cupping my face. My fingers found their way to my lips as I thought about that stupid, lousy kiss. I caught myself reminiscing and quickly lowered my hand as I noticed him staring.
"Stay away from me." I swallowed hard, my emotions were starting to get the best of me.
"What?" He stood up, his eyebrows furrowed in frustration.
"Get out! I'm done with this." I walked over to the counter and placed my hands on it, propping my self up as I leaned over the sink, holding back tears.
"You really want me to leave?" I nodded. "Fine, I'll leave. But remember what you said last night?" I felt him getting closer to me. "You said you owed me. Remember?"
"I don't owe you anything. Not anymore." I pushed myself up off the counter and started to walk to my room. He took a few steps toward me and pinned me against the wall.
"I don't know how to explain it, but when I'm around you... when I'm around you..." He shook his head and kissed me, his tongue sliding it's way into my mouth. I moaned softly as he kissed me long and hard. I felt my cock harden as his hips grinded against mine. "Tell me you don't feel the same and I'll go."
My eyes were heavy, my heart was racing and my breath was quick. The warmth of his body made me feel safe and the smell of his cologne lured me in. I tried to look away from him, but he grabbed my chin and forced me to look into his glowing green eyes.
"Tell me you don't feel the same and I'll leave. I swear." I averted my gaze. "God damn it, Roxas! Fucking answer me!" My mouth moved, but no words came out.
He slammed the door as he left. I cringed at the sound and slid down to the floor. Tears cascaded down my cheeks.
What was happening to me?
