A/N This story is not dead! I'm so sorry it took so long to update but I was at a crossroads. I could go in depth about the ready of the two moons or move the story along and try an idea that I came up with. I have made a decision and that led me to tTherein thinking there will be about two chapters after this one, then an Epilogue. There will be a book two and good news, I've already got most of the next chapter done do I can update it within the next day or two. Happy? Angry? Review and tell me what you think.

disclaimer- I don't own warriors

enjoy!

Chapter 26

Pepperpaw POV

The first snowfall of Leafbare. It started just a few moments ago. The elders have been predicting that it would be "any day now" I suppose they were right. The two moons are almost up and home has never seemed farther away.

The snow started as a few little white puffs of cold, but now the flakes are large and it's been so cold lately that the hard packed ground is already showing a bit of white. I soon see Heathertail pad out of the warriors den and towards me.

"Enjoying the flurries?" She asks brightly

I can't decide weather to be surprised at her attitude change or to ask what FLURRIES are.

"What are flurries?" I ask

"Well flurries are like mist before rain. Small flakes before a large storm." She replies quickly, her eyes are gone off somewhere else.

I decide on the side of caution and continue as if nothing is wrong.

"So, what are we doing today?" I ask

"Doing?" She mumbles "Oh! Sorry, I was distracted."

Obviously.

"Today we are going to hunt. With the storm we will need a large stock of food to keep the clan going." Now she's back.

I agree and follow out of camp and into the snowy moors.

As we walk away from camp I pad up beside her. "So, what's bothering you?" I ask lightly, not showing too much curiosity.

"Hm? Oh nothing." She replies "I'm just tired today."

"I don't believe that for a second!" I meow, stoping and sitting down

"Now tell me what's going on. If you were tired you wouldn't be acting happy and distracted. You would be grouchy and short. Obviously something has happened."

She looks at me for a long moment then sighs. "Fine ill tell you. But your going to carry extra on the return trip." She assures me. "Alright, you know Owlwhisker?" She asks

I nod, remembering the light brown warrior.

"Well, he asked me to be his mate last night. And I said yes." She meows as she starts walking again.

"That's wonderful!" I meow following her "Are you going to announce it to the clan?"

"Not yet. Now lets do what we came out here for! The rabbits aren't going to wait for us."

...

I hate snow. What used to be harmless flurries are now huge wet flakes flying everywhere. Heathertail says this is called a blizzard. I can no longer see in front of me. I am stuck in a cold world of white with a rabbit in my jaws.

Heathertail is behind me, pushing me towards camp. I get up again and force my way through the snow. Soon I can see it. Our camp, now covered in white. When we enter the is a bit if improvement from the wind but not much. Our camp is little more than a dip in the ground. We place our catches in the hole we dug for prey last night and head back to our dens. Not a good day.

In my sleep I have a dream. In my dream I see cats. My sisters. And of course, Jayfeather.

"Why can't I just have normal dreams?" I asks, but pad toward them happily

Jayfeather gets right to the point. "The two moons is almost up. You all will come back to ThunderClan."

"If course," I reply

"No." Swirlpaw meows "I'm not going back. I'm ShadowClan now. Blackstar's dying wish was for me to stay and I have friends here. Why can't I save the clans from ShadowClan?"

Jayfeather takes a step toward her in rage "You will return to ThunderClan! StarClan demands it."

"But you can't make me. Your a medicine cat and in case you don't remember, out in the clans, you are blind! I will be staying in ShadowClan. They need me." She yells before running away and fading from our sight.

"She will come to her senses." Jayfeather assures us as we try to go after her

I nod and sit again.

She has to see reason. Right?

"Now, is anycat in the other clans sick?" Jayfeather asks

For a while no cat answers and we all sit uneasily.

"You want us to give you information that would give away our clan's weaknesses?" Willowpaw asks, standing

"No! They are not your clans. They stole you! Remember?" Glitterpaw meows

"Fine," Willowpaw sits down again "Mothwing died of a sickness, but you all know that. One of our apprentices, Sunpaw, he is sick as well. Though its not as bad as it was for Mothwing."

"There have been a few coughs and some cats sneezing but nothing serious." I meow from my place on the ground

Jayfeather nods and looks thoughtful for a moment before speaking. "There has been a bit like that in our camp as well. I will see the two of you in a few sunrises at the end of the two moons."

We say our goodbyes before everything starts to fade.
