I Die

(Austin's P.O.V.)

So, what magazine should I get Trish? I ask Ally. Dez is getting her food, so I'm getting her a magazine.

Anything with a hot guy on the cover. Oh! Get the one with Ross Lynch! I find the magazine and buy it. He's so perfect, Ally sighs dreamily as I walk out of the store.

But not as perfect as me.

I dunno… Have you seen his hair?

Every time I look in a mirror. Ally sighs.

Fine, you two are equal but that's as far as I'm gonna go.

I arrive back at Sonic Boom and set Trish's magazine on the table.

"When does your shift end?" I ask the Latina.

"In an hour. After that, we should go check on that cloud thing. How will we know when it's ready?" I shrug.

"You know what I wanna know? If I have to save Ally before midnight, does it mean my midnight or hers?"

Probably mine, Ally says. It's before yours, and Sarah would give us less time rather than more.

Good point, I tell her.

"We're gonna go in the practice room till your shift's over," I tell Trish. Then, I walk upstairs and through the door.

Alllllllllly, I'm bored, I complain, dragging out Ally's name.

Did you finish writing your song? I nod. I really hope she doesn't ask me to play it, though. I'm not sure if it's good or not, and it's about her. It would be so embarrassing if I sang a horrible song about Ally to Ally. Will you sing it? Dang it.

I don't particularly want to. I don't think it's very good…

Please? she asks. She gives me the puppy dog eyes and I sigh.

You're not being fair, I tell her. Puppy dog eyes are an unfair advantage.

You don't seem to feel that way when you use them against me, she says, crossing her arms.

Ugh, fine. I'll sing it. But don't expect something amazing. This is me we're talking about.

Have more faith in yourself, Austin. I sigh. I walk across the practice room and grab a guitar. Then, I sit at the couch and begin to play.

I don't wanna be famous,
I don't wanna if I can't be with you
Everything I eat's tasteless
Everything I see don't compare with you
Paris, Monaco and Vegas,
I'd rather stay with you
If I had to choose
Baby you're the greatest,
And I got everything to lose,
And I just want to be with you
And I can't ever get enough!

Baby give it all up, up, I'd give it all up,
If I can't be with you!
All of this stuff sucks, yeah all of this sucks
If I can't be with you!
And,
No Oscar,
No Grammy,
No mansion in Miami
The sun don't shine the sky ain't blue,
If I can't be with you!

I could sail around the whole world
But I still won't find a place,
As beautiful as you girl!
And really who's got time to waste?
I can't even see a future,
Without you in it, the colors start to fade,
Ain't no way I'm gonna lose you,
Nobody in the world could ever take your place!
You're the kind I can't replace!
And I can't ever get enough!

Baby, give it all up, up I'd give it all up,
If I can't be with you!
All of this stuff sucks, yeah all of this sucks
If I can't be with you!
And,
No Oscar,
No Grammy,
No mansion in Miami
The sun don't shine the sky ain't blue ,
If I can't be with you!
Oh oh oh, oh oh oh,
If I can't be with you!
Oh oh oh, oh oh oh,
If I can't be with you!

If I can't be with you!
Oh if I can't be with you!
If I can't be with you!

Oh, all of this sucks, if I can't be with you!

All of this stuff sucks, yeah, all of this sucks!
If I can't be with you!
And,
No Oscar,
No Grammy,
No mansion in Miami
The sun don't shine the sky ain't blue
If I can't be with you!
Oh oh oh, oh oh oh,
If I can't be with you!
Oh oh oh, oh oh oh,
If I can't be with you!
With You

I finish playing and set the guitar down. Give it to me straight, I say, shutting my eyes and preparing to hear how it wasn't that good.

Austin, that. Was. AMAZING! Did you really write that? I blush and nod. That's literally the most beautiful song I've ever heard.

Thanks, I say. Should I tell her it's about her? Did she figure that out already?

So, who'd you write it about? she asks. I can tell from her voice that she knows it's about her.

Kira, I say. I'm thinking about getting back together with her.

I'm not even gonna pretend to find that funny.

Jealous much? I joke.

Jealous lots, she replies. At least she's not shy about it.

It's obviously about you, Als, I tell her.

I know, she says, smiling. It's probably gonna be stuck in my head for the rest of eternity.

It's that good? She nods enthusiastically. Thanks. After a couple seconds I complain again. I'm suffering Ally withdrawals, I tell her.

Oh, you poor thing, she says sarcastically. Does she not understand how much pain I'm in? I decide to ask her. No, I don't. 'Cause Ally withdrawals are not real.

Tell that to my pain!

Austin's pain, you are a figment of Austin's imagination because Ally withdrawals don't exist, she deadpans.

They do too exist! I argue.

Really? Then what are the symptoms?

Fatigue, sadness, extreme pain in all parts of the body, and the inability to get Ally Dawson out of your head. Figuratively. But I guess it's both in this case, I tell her.

Huh. You've really thought this through, haven't you?

No. I did research. It's a real thing. Piper even said so. Ally rolls her eyes.

Well, if you're in so much pain from these "Ally withdrawals," then what are the cures?

There's only one. I walk to the closet and grab the blanket Trish knitted a while ago. The white one that always makes everyone sleepy. I then walk over to the couch and get comfortable with the blanket. Within seconds, I fall asleep.

"You never said what the cure was," Ally says when I appear in my head.

"Too. Much. Pain," I say dramatically. "Besides, you already know the cure." Before she can respond, I crash my lips against hers. She responds to stuff really slow.

I wrap my arms around her small waist tightly, and her arms go around my neck, which is starting to ache a bit from bending down so far. But that pain can't even begin to compare to the pain of Ally withdrawals, so I ignore it.

We're still kissing after a few minutes, and we probably would've gone longer if I hadn't been shaken awake.

"Wake up, you idiot! My shift is over!" I hear Trish say. I open my eyes and glare at her.

"You interrupted some serious cannibalism. Not cool, Trish," I tell her angrily.

So you admit to being a cannibal.

Hey, don't act so innocent. You were about to bite my lip off.

"We have more important matters to attend to," she replies. "C'mon, we have to go check on our transportation." I roll my eyes and we walk downstairs, where Dez is waiting. He must've gotten here while I was in the practice room.

"Took ya long enough," Dez says. "She was trying to wake you up for, like, ten minutes."

"Yeah, well I was a little busy," I snap. Hey, I don't like when people interrupt my Ally-time.

"Let's just go," Trish says. We follow her out of the store. We walk in silence to the parking lot. Well, sort of.

Those Ally withdrawals might start get a little annoying, Ally says.

Well, then that's gonna really suck for you, isn't it?

Uh, rude!

Sorry, I apologize. I didn't mean it like that, I just-Never mind. Sorry, I repeat.

I guess I forgive you.

We finally arrive at the parking lot.

"So, how do we know when it's ready?" Trish asks, looking at the cloud. Dez and I shrug. Then, there's a huge puff of black smoke next to me. I start coughing as bad as when I choked on my popcorn. I'm still mad about that.

"Oh, sorry," Piper says. I glare at her until I finish coughing.

"Next time, could you appear, like, ten feet away?"

"Gosh, what's got you so wound up?"

"Someone woke me up when I was-er-sleeping," I tell her. She raises an eyebrow.

"Uh, guys? Could we, I dunno, focus on the matter at hand? When will the cloud thing be ready?" Trish asks.

"Right about-" we hear a ding, "-now," Piper says. "It's about a seven hour trip, and it's five in the Shadow Realm right now. Time moves differently there, but only Shadows really notice. Anyway, you should make it just in time. I'm gonna flash back 'cause I don't feel like sitting around for seven hours. I'll see you guys later!" Piper blows us kisses and disappears.

"Let's go!" Dez says excitedly. He jumps into the cloud, and Trish and I follow.

The winds roar all around us, and it takes a few minutes to get used to it. Then, I realize we're moving.

"So, seven hours of this? I guess it's not so bad," Trish remarks.

"Well, I'm going back to sleep. Talk to you guys in, like, seven hours," I say.

"Seriously, Austin?" Dez asks. "You know, Ally isn't your only friend. We're here, too."

"Yes, well I'm not suffering Dez and Trish withdrawals." They look at me with hurt expressions and I realize I haven't been being very nice to them. "Okay, I didn't mean that. You guys know that. I'm just…Scared. And stressed. And really missing Ally," I tell them honestly.

"We miss her too, Austin. We know what you're going through, 'cause we're going through it, too. But that doesn't mean we just stop talking to our other friends," Trish says.

"I'm sorry," I apologize. We all just sit there in silence as the clouds churn around us. I twiddle my thumbs, not making eye contact with my friends.

Wow. Even I can feel the awkward. And I'm not even technically there.

Well, what should I do? Ally shrugs.

"Oh, just go to sleep, already," Trish says rolling her eyes.

"Yes!" I exclaim, happy they're not mad anymore. I throw my head back and go to sleep.

"You're a terrible person," Ally tells me.

"I didn't mean it!"

"Well, I'm not kissing you."

"Why not?" I whine.

"'Cause you were mean! I'm not gonna reward you for it!" she says.

"Please? I'm in pain, Als." I give her my famous puppy dog eyes.

"Not gonna work, Austin," she says, crossing her arms.

"Pwease?" I stick my lower lip out in a sad pout, adding to my puppy dog eyes. I can see Ally about to cave.

"No!" She turns her back to me. "I'm not the only person you should care about. Dez is your best friend. And Trish is a really good friend of yours, too!"

"Yes, and I love them to death. But, they didn't get kidnapped and taken away from me! And I don't get withdrawals from them!"

"I'm still not kissing you." I sigh and look at the ground sadly. I wonder how long I'll stand here before I decide to wake up or something.

"Oh, just come here!" Ally finally exclaims.

"Yay!" I say. I lean in and kiss her, my arms going around her waist again. I feel her arms wrap around my shoulders tightly, just like always. I smile into the kiss. Gosh, I missed her. After a really long time-I'm not entirely sure how long-we pull away.

"I miss you so much," I tell her.

"I'm right here."

"I mean as my girlfriend," I say confidently.

"Oh," is all she says. We stand there in silence for a while. I'm not sure if it's awkward or comfortable-I think it's a mixture of both. Finally, she says, "For the record, I miss you as my boyfriend."

"Then I don't see a reason why we shouldn't change that. Ally, will you be my girlfriend again?" I ask. She laughs and kisses me in reply. "Is that a yes?" I mumble against her lips.

"You're such an idiot," she mumbles back.

"Hey," I say, pulling back. "No insulting the boyfriend! He has fragile feelings and a small ego." Ally laughs again.

"You? Fragile feelings and a small ego? I can't even imagine it."

"Rude! That's it, you have lost your kissing privileges, miss," I tell her. She narrows her eyes.

"You can't take away my kissing privileges!"

"Oh, yes I can!" She crosses her arms angrily.

"You're being so unfair!"

"Well, next time, think before you speak!"

"Dad!" She covers her mouth after she says that.

After a few seconds of awkward silence, I say, "How about we forget that conversation ever happened? I'd rather not be called a dad for, like, another five years."

"Deal. And by the way, I'm pretty sure you're gonna be just like another child. Oh gosh, I dunno how I'm gonna survive."

"Eh, you'll be fine. I'm pretty much gonna be the best dad ever. Our daughter is totally gonna be a daddy's girl," I say, grinning. Ally rolls her eyes, but smiles anyway.

"So what do you wanna do? My mouth hurts." She touches her lips tenderly. "You gotta stop biting me. Cannibalism is bad, Austin." I chuckle and roll my eyes.

"But you taste like strawberry! I like strawberries."

"And I like cinnamon, but you don't see me trying to eat your face." I raise an eyebrow. "Well, not as much as you, anyway!"

"You're right, you don't do it as much as me. You do it more!"

"Do not!"

"Tell that to my bleeding lip!" I point to my lower lip that is, indeed, bleeding. That girl has the teeth of a piranha. Ally blushes.

"I really like cinnamon. And also pancakes," is all she says.

"And obviously also fabulousness. I mean, we both know I reek of it."

"I know you reek, just not exactly of fabulousness."

"Hey! I smell amazing! The shampoo I use smells literally like magic pixies have sprinkled their amazing smelling dust all over my hair."

"Your hair is the worst part," she says scrunching her nose.

"If I didn't love you so much, you'd be dead. No one insults the hair."

"Yeah, well, you're lucky I love you so much, or I would've killed you a long time ago for being so conceited," she replies.

"Are we really gonna do this?" I ask, stepping closer.

"Unless you're willing to admit that I'm gonna win."

"I love you more than you love pickles," I start.

"I love you more than my book."

"I love you more than pancakes."

"I love you more than you love your hair!"

"I love you more than music!" I shout.

"I was gonna say that," she mumbles. "Well, I love you more than Dez loves suspenders!"

"I love you more than I love myself!" I say. She looks at me, wide-eyed.

"Okay, you win. You really love yourself."

"But I love you more," I say, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and pulling her into my side. We sit on the couch and she lays her head on my shoulder.

"I wish everything with Sarah had never happened," she says.

"I don't. As much as I hate to admit it, me losing my memories helped bring us together. But the kidnapping was uncalled for." She shrugs.

"I guess you're right. But that doesn't mean I have to like the fact that an evil Shadow brought us together."

"I never said you did."

"I can't wait to go home," she mumbles, snuggling into my shoulder and draping an arm over my stomach.

"I can't wait for you to get home," I mumble back. "'Cause then school will start and I'll get to brag to everyone that we're back together. Somehow, they all found out that we broke up, so all of the football team was gonna ask you out when school started again."

"Really?" I nod.

"But now they can't. 'Cause you're all mine." I pull her closer. "For once I'm excited for school. I think you're rubbing off on me." She laughs.

"Good. I'm a great influence, especially to a delinquent like yourself."

"It's called a singing career, Als. I don't have time for school."

"Mmhm," she says doubtfully.

"So, on a scale of one to me at a free pancake buffet, how excited do you think Piper will be that we're back together?"

"Well, considering she still has a fangirl crush on you, I'd say around Dez in a suspender store." I nod.

"That sounds about right. Though, I dunno if she would let the fangirl crush affect her happiness for Auslly," I reason.

"You never know. I mean, I'd be a little upset if Ross Lynch and Laura Marano started dating, with my fangirl crush."

"Please, you have a boyfriend who's way better than Ross Lynch can even dream to be," I say, getting a little jealous.

"Yes, but Ross Lynch."

"Uh, okay. You can date Ross and I'll date Laura."

"No! You're mine!" She hugs me tighter.

"That's what I thought," I say smugly. Ally rolls her eyes.

"So, what do you wanna do now?" she asks. I shrug. "Oh! I have an idea! So, there's this new thing, where your boyfriend does your makeup. Piper was telling me about it…I don't remember when. We should do it!"

"You want me to do your makeup," I say skeptically.

"Yes! C'mon, it'll be fun!" she grabs my arm and pulls me up from the couch. She makes a vanity appear, as well as a huge makeup bag. She makes two chairs appear, and she sits in one. "Please?" she says.

"Fine," I grumble, sitting down. "But it's not my fault if your face ends up looking like Dez's clothes." She rolls her eyes.

"You'll be fine. Now, go." I sigh and look in the bag. I grab a tube that says Foundation.

"Okay, so I'm guessing this goes on first 'cause it's called 'foundation' and you always put the foundation for a building down first," I announce. Then, I uncap the tube and put foundation on Ally's face. I gently rub it in.

"You're smarter than I give you credit for."

"Gee, thanks." Next, I find the eye shadow, knowing to skip concealer. Her skin is literally flawless. "Hmmm, which eye shadow should I use?" I wonder to myself. I grin and pull out a palette of bright blues, greens, and pinks. "Perfect." I decide to go with a bright, sparkly blue.

"Uh, maybe we shouldn't use that one," Ally says.

"Don't question the makeup master. Now close your eyes." She visibly gulps of nervousness but shuts her eyes anyway. I apply the eye shadow, but I accidentally get some on her forehead. "Oops," I mutter. I lick my finger and rub it off.

"Did you just wipe makeup off my forehead with your spit?"

"No, I licked my finger and got it off. Duh."

"Gross."

"Oh, quit your whining. We both know you've probably swallowedmore of my spit than yours."

"Gross," she repeats. I roll my eyes and shut the eye shadow. I grab bright pink blush and put it on her cheeks.

"You have really nice cheekbones," I remark. She doesn't say anything. Once I finish the blush, I grab a large tube of what I assume is mascara. The tube is fat and pink and it says Falsies on it. I uncap the mascara.

"Please try not to poke me in the eye."

"Don't worry," I say. I start putting the mascara on her long eyelashes. "You have really pretty eyelashes I tell her."

"You're giving me really weird compliments, but thanks, I guess. Ow!" That last part is because I accidentally stabbed her in the eye with the mascara brush.

"Sorry, sorry, sorry!" I say. I quickly finish her mascara and cap the tube. "Well, you're done," I tell her. She looks in the mirror and starts cracking up. She makes her phone appear and I take a picture. "You look… gorgeous," I say sarcastically.

"Thanks," she says dryly. "Now help me get this off." We spend the next twenty minutes taking off the makeup I worked so hard to put on. "Well, that was fun. Your turn to pick something to do."

"We should eat ice cream!" She laughs.

"Okay." We both make our favorite flavors of ice cream appear. Fruity mint swirl for her (I knew she was gonna choose that before she even agreed to having ice cream) and peanut butter and chocolate for me. I make loud slurping sounds as I lick my ice cream off the cone. She raises an eyebrow at me while she eats hers silently.

"What?" I say.

"You're eating a little loud." I make even louder slurping sounds. "I'm dating a four-year-old," she mutters.

"A four-year-old that is very, very lucky to have you."

"Yeah, yeah," she says, her cheeks turning light pink. We finish our ice cream and she raises her eyebrows while looking at my face. "You got a little something." She gestures all around my mouth. I shrug. She rolls her eyes and cleans my face with a napkin.

"Thank you, Ally," I say, grinning.

"You're so immature."

"One of the many perks of Austin Moon."

"Whatever. So, what should we do now?"

"We could watch a horror movie," I suggest. She shakes her head.

"No."

"Eat pancakes?"

"No."

"Well, then I'm all out of ideas. Actually, just kidding. No I'm not." I lean in and kiss her. After a few seconds she pulls back slightly.

"This is your idea of what we should do to entertain ourselves?"

"Um…yes?" I say as more of a question.

"Eh, good enough for me." She closes the small gap between us. She runs her fingers through my hair-thank goodness I actually decided to brush it. My hair gets a lot of knots in it. I'm not sure why, but it would be pretty unfortunate if our kissing was interrupted by me screaming out in pain because her hand got tangled in my hair.

"You have really soft hair," she mumbles. After a while, we pull apart, panting. "Your Ally withdrawals cured enough?" she asks. I smile like an idiot and nod. She smiles, too.

"You're ad-" she disappears before finishing her sentence. I raise an eyebrow.

"Ally?" I say. A lot of bad situations run through my head as to why she just randomly disappeared. "Ally, if this is a joke, it's not funny. No, why would she do that?" I say. I wake up quickly.

"Guys," I say when I open my eyes. "Ally disappeared. We were talking, and she just disappeared mid-sentence!"

"Is this some sort of prank?" Trish asks.

"No, I'm serious! She's just gone! And there's nothing we can do! What if Sarah got her? What if she's dead? My girlfriend can't be dead!" I shout, getting near hysterics.

"Wait, you're not kidding? Oh my gosh, what if- Wait, did you say girlfriend?" Trish says.

"Yeah, yeah, Ally and I are back together, but that doesn't matter now 'cause she's gone!"

"What are we gonna do?" Dez says.

"We can't do anything!" Trish exclaims. "We're stuck in this cloud for another five hours!"

"I was asleep for two hours?" I ask.

"Yeah. You were making weird slurping noises," Trish replies, scrunching her nose.

"Oh. We were eating ice cream," I tell her.

"That's a relief! We thought you were kissing her!" Dez says.

"Well, I was, but not all weird and slurp-y. Gosh, guys, I'm not like that." They shrug.

"Anyway, OMG YOU AND ALLY ARE BACK TOGETHER!" Trish exclaims. I decide not to mention that she just disappeared from my head. I'll let Trish have her excitement.

"I KNOW RIGHT!" Dez shouts. They fangirl together and I just watch them.

"So, how did it happen?" Trish asks. I roll my eyes.

"I said 'Will you be my girlfriend again?' and she kissed me. It's not that exciting of a story," I say.

"Ugh, you guys are boring," she remarks.

"Yeah," Dez agrees.

"Well I'm sorry our relationship doesn't fit your entertainment needs," I tell them. I expect Ally to say something in my head, but then I remember she's gone. The emptiness up there is creepy.

"You should be," Trish says.

"I'm more worried about saving her than entertaining you. Once we're all safe at home in Sonic Boom, I promise I'll make out with her until you're scarred for life," I say, smirking.

"Yup, I really don't need that image in my head," Trish says.

"Oh! I have an idea!" Dez says.

"Save it, freckles."

"Trish, it has to do with saving Ally!" my crazy friend exclaims. Trish rolls her eyes. "Austin, you should just go to sleep. If someone woke her up, then you should be able to get in her head if you go to sleep. Then, you'll know what happened." Trish and I stare at him in shock.

"That's actually…a good idea," I say.

"I never thought Dez would make me feel like an idiot," Trish says.

"Aw, thanks guys," Dez says with a smile on his face.

"Well, I guess I better go back to sleep. No wonder I'm so hot, I sleep like thirty hours a day," I say.

"Austin, you know there's only… Never mind, just go to bed," Trish says. I shrug and close my eyes.

I appear in Ally's head, just like I should.

"Ally?" I say. I connect to her senses to see what's going on.

"Oh, your boyfriend's here! Excellent!" I hear someone say behind Ally. Unfortunately, I recognize the voice. I'm not surprised she knows I'm in Ally's head.

"Ally, what happened?" I ask.

Sarah woke me up and injected me with something that keeps me from falling asleep, she tells me. I realize her mouth is gagged so she can't speak.

"Why?" Ally shrugs.

"I'll tell you why," Sarah says. "I've decided I'm starting the torture a little early."

"That's not fair!" I exclaim.

"I don't care!" Sarah says back.

"You are seriously messed up, lady."

"Why thank you, Austin." I roll my eyes.

"So, what's the plan?" I ask Ally.

There is no plan. We're goners. Dead. Totally toast.

"Piper will help you!" I say.

"I don't think so," Sarah says. Just then, I see the familiar perfectly curled blonde hair bounce into the room.

"What?!" I exclaim. "Piper, what are you doing?"

"Oh, Austin. You really think I cared about you mortals? I'm a Shadow, and why would I be different from my own family? I've been planning with Grandma Sarah this whole time. Surprise!" she exclaims. Ally and I are shocked.

"Well, if nothing else, I gotta give you props on the acting," I tell her.

"Oh, I know, right? I'm thinking about going into the mortal world and becoming and actress."

"You totally should," I say. "I totally believed you were on our side."

"Thanks! I've been practicing."

"The practice has totally paid off."

Uh, Austin? She's the enemy now, remember?

"Whoa, hold it. I have a proposal for Austin. I have convinced Grandma to spare you if you agree to stay with us and help with our-ah-entertainment," she says. Uh, can I get a NO?!

"Why would I be able to help?" I ask out of pure curiosity.

"Have you seen yourself? You would greatly help with our female victims." I raise an eyebrow. "You'd loan them your lips, and then you'd break their hearts. Then, Grandma Sarah and I would do the rest."

"Yeah, um, no. Not only is that disgusting and totally horrible, but I kinda have a girlfriend, so…"

"Aw, you and Ally got back together?" she asks, not even recognizing that Ally's in the room and I'm in her head.

"Yeah," I reply.

"About time," she says. "I wasn't lying when I said you two were totes adorbs!" I nod.

"Yeah, we get that a lot… Wait, why am I even talking to you? You're the enemy!" I exclaim.

I just said that, Ally says.

"Okay, enough!" Sarah says. "We need to focus on the torture." Sarah points a bony finger at Ally. "La douleur et la torture," she says in a raspy voice as her eyes turn gold. I don't know what language she's speaking, but I recognize the word 'torture.' That doesn't sound good to me.

A beam of yellow light streaks toward Ally, but it gets blocked by a beam of purple light. Then, Sarah just disappears in a flash.

"What happened?" I ask. Ally looks to her left to see Piper with an outstretched hand.

"What, do you really think I'd team up with that old hag?" she says. She unties Ally and takes the gag out of her mouth. Ally and I are both shocked. Ally gets over it first and hugs Piper. I get over my shock soon after.

"Then why were you pretending to?" Ally asks.

"To find out her plans."

"And?" Ally prompts.

"That cloud better hurry up," is all she says. I gulp. "But I'm sure you guys will be fine," she says quickly, trying not to scare us.

"Thanks, Pipes," I say.

"So, what'd you do to her?" Ally asks.

"Transported her to Italy and made her forget our location. But she'll find us soon."

"Thanks, Piper," Ally says. "I should've known you would come through."

"Yeah. You still totally get props on your acting. Marvelous job," I say, clapping.

"Thanks," she says, chuckling. "You guys should probably switch places now." We nod, and I wake up.

"Well?" Trish says.

"Sarah decided to start the torture early, and Piper was on her team, but turns out Piper was lying to find out Sarah's plans, and before Sarah could do anything to Ally, Piper transported her to Italy and made her forget their location. But Sarah will find them soon. This thing needs to hurry."

"At least she's okay," Dez says.

"For now," I mutter.

Hey, Ally says, appearing in my head.

"She's back."

"Ally Ashley Dawson, you had me worried sick!" Trish exclaims.

You're middle name's Ashley? Ally rolls her eyes.

"Her middle name's Ashley?" Dez asks. Both Ally and Trish roll their eyes.

"Ally Ashley Dawson," I say. "I like it. But Ally Ashley Moon is gonna sound so much better in a few years."

"Whoa, you two are engaged? Where was I?!" Dez says.

"No, we're not engaged, but we all know it's gonna happen eventually," I explain. Trish and Dez shrug in agreement.

"So, now what?" Trish says. We shrug.

"How much longer," Dez whines like a five-year-old

"Three more hours," Trish replies.

"Ugh!" he groans.

"Oh! I have an idea!" I exclaim. "Be right back." I go to sleep (I'm good at going to sleep quickly by now) and appear in my head once again. "Okay, do you think it's possible to make Trish and Dez appear in here?" I ask Ally.

"I dunno. Piper didn't put the spell on them, but we can make anything appear when we're in here. Why?"

"We should play Princes and Princesses!" I exclaim.

"Austin, we haven't played that since…"

"Since I lost my memories. So? I wanna play! Please, Ally?" I beg.

"No need to beg. I'll play," she says.

"Yay!" I exclaim. "Now, how do we get Trish and Dez in here?" I ask.

"Have them go to sleep, then come in here and try to make Dez appear, while I try to make Trish appear." I nod.

"Good plan. See ya in a few." I give her a quick peck on the lips and wake up.

"Hey, guys. Ally and I wanna play Princes and Princesses."

"Uh, in case you didn't notice, we're in a cloud and Ally's in your head," Trish says.

"Which is why we wanna play in my head. We can make the scenery whatever we want. It'll be so cool. You in?" I say.

"How will we get in your head?" Dez asks.

"Go to sleep, and Ally and I will do the rest. Hopefully." They nod and close their eyes. I close mine, too.

I appear back in my head and shut my eyes, concentrating on getting Dez here. Suddenly, I'm tackled to the ground. I groan in pain and open my eyes.

"Get off," I moan, barely able to breathe under Dez's weight.

"Sorry, I kinda appeared right above you so I fell on top of you," he replies. I look over at Ally and Trish who are standing next to each other and laughing at us. Dez and I stand up.

"This place is pretty cool," Trish remarks, looking around. I nod.

"What's that?" Dez points to my fortress.

"That would be my fortress," I reply. "While Ally's in here, she can read my thoughts, unless I block her. If I imagine I'm in here when I'm thinking, she can't see my thoughts. And I keep all the important file folders in there, as well as the controls."

"What files? Why are there files in your head?" Trish asks.

"The files are just groups of thoughts, I guess. The Ally file is in there, and I kinda forget what else. But I guess the Ally file doesn't really need to be in there anymore 'cause someone already read it," I say, staring pointedly as Ally. She shrugs and smiles innocently.

"When there were holes in your fortress, what did you expect me to do? Besides, you read the Austin file, which was much more interesting, in my opinion."

"That's 'cause I'm a much more interesting person than you," I say, smirking.

"Okay, enough," Trish says. "So, how do you make stuff appear, so we know for the game?"

"You just concentrate on wanting it, and it appears. Like so," Ally says. Then, she demonstrates by making a glass of lemonade appear. She takes a sip, and then I steal it and down the rest. "Hey!" she exclaims. She pouts.

"Okay, anything else we should know?" Dez asks. We shake our heads. Then, Ally and I concentrate and make the scenery for the game appear. My head seems much bigger, though we all know it isn't.

To our right is a huge, dark forest. The trees are tall and a dark green, and creepy noises are coming from the forest. We're standing on a dirt path, and right in front of us is a huge moat. I see the snapping mouth of an alligator. Beyond the moat, a gigantic castle looms above us. It's made with bricks in a million mismatched shades of gray. The tops of the five towers are made with royal blue bricks, and the huge door is made with dark brown wood. It's gonna take forever to navigate that place.

"Well, see ya," Trish says. Dez and I wave and start walking towards the forest. All of a sudden, we're transported to a clearing right smack in the middle. Then, we get spun around by… I don't know what, so we have no idea which way to go.

"I think my head is taking this game seriously," I say to Dez. Just then, a gigantic black Rottweiler jumps from the shadows of the forest. I make a sword appear in my hand and kill the Rottweiler with one swipe. It explodes into yellow dust and I stand there, breathing heavily.

"D-do you think we can die in here?" Dez asks, shaking from what just happened. I nod.

"Definitely."

"Then you just saved my life, man," he says. "Thanks." I shrug in a 'no problem' gesture. I would've said it, but I'm still in shock from what just happened. I just killed a gigantic dog that would've killed Dez. This game of Princes and Princesses is real this time. And I have a feeling the only way to get out of it is to finish the game.

I look down at the sword I made appear. It had a three foot long, wickedly sharp, double-edged gold blade. It has a leather grip that fits my hand perfectly. I see little silver music note designs painted on the brown leather, and even more on the blade. The silver and gold of the blade glow faintly in the darkness of the forest.

"You need a weapon," I tell Dez. He nods and makes a bow appear in his hand, and a quiver of arrows appears on his back. I notice that not all the arrows have sharp tips. I make a guess that some of them are special arrows that can do other things than just pierce the enemy.

"I took an archery class and camp and I was the best aim there. I shot an arrow through another arrow," he says. I remember that. He never missed a shot. I nod. "Wait," he says. "If we're really gonna get attacked in this forest, then what do you think is happening to the girls?" My eyes widen. We need to get to them quickly, but we decide it's best not to run.

"So, which way do we go?" Suddenly, we hear two screams coming from the behind us. We point at the same time.

"That way," we say together. Then, we trudge out of our clearing and into the forest.

Fallen leaves crunch under our feet. I look down and realize we're both decked out in silver armor. Luckily, it's really light. I keep my sword at the ready, and Dez has an arrow nocked.

I strain my ears for any sounds of something that might attack us, but either the monsters are ninjas, or there's nothing there to attack us. We keep walking on high alert. Suddenly, we hear a rustling to our left.

We look at each other nervously and stop, looking in the direction where the sound came from. I can hear the whatever-it-is getting closer.

Finally, it comes out of the shadows. It has a human face and hands, arms, feet, and legs. It's body and the rest of its head is like a monkey's, and it has a snake for a tail. One word: creepy. Oh, and I forgot to mention, it's claws are longer than Wolverine's, and they're dripping poison.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't Austin Moon and Dez," it says in a deep voice.

"How do you know our names?" Dez asks nervously.

"Oh, everyone in this forest knows. They know of your quest to save the princesses, too. But, you will never succeed. You're just knights, not even princes. How can you expect to save the princesses?"

"Because we're good, and good always beats evil," Dez says.

"But alas, here we are. You're not even worthy to save them. At least princes would have a shot. Now, enough chitchat. I've been ordered to kill you." The thing springs at us.

I go into autopilot. I have no idea where I learned swordplay, but I'm happy I did. I'm slashing at the monster over and over, but it keeps dodging. Dez keeps shooting arrows, but the monster is too quick. The monster slashes my arm with its claws, and I feel a shooting pain. I don't look at the blood, or I think I'll pass out.

Finally, I slice the monster's head off. That's when I start to feel numb. I can't feel my right arm below my bicep, which is where the monster scratched me. If you consider digging his claws in all the way to the bone a 'scratch.' I know the poison is spreading. Soon, it'll get to my heart, and I'll die. But for now, I have to focus on getting to the castle and saving the girls.

"C'mon, Austin. We don't' have much time," Dez says, eyeing my wound. For once in his life, he's fully aware about what's going on, and he knows that we've got to hurry if I want to live. I nod and we keep walking.

Twenty miles and another fifty monster attacks later, we stumble out of the forest. Both of us are bleeding from wounds and breathing heavily. The poison is not only causing me numbness, but also severe pain. Somehow, it's gone to my stomach, my other arm, and my right leg, but not to my heart. I think it's magic, so you have to endure the torturous pain and numbness from it before you die.

I'm exhausted and my vision is blurry. Turns out, armor isn't as great as we thought, obviously. We got rid of it five miles in because it did nothing for us.

Dez and I somehow find the strength to run to the castle. We have to make a bridge appear to get over the moat, but it has no rails and I almost fall in the water. Dez catches me and I mutter a quick thanks before we keep running.

We race through the doors and run up the first set of stairs we see. The castle is like a huge maze, which luckily, I'm pretty good at. We only have to backtrack twice before we get to the balcony where the girls are being kept.

By the time we get there, I can barely stand on my numb and throbbing legs. The girls are tied up against the railing of the balcony and their eyes widen when they see us. I'm not surprised, though. We're bleeding, tired, and barely standing.

"What happened?" Ally asks.

"Long story," Dez replies. "Tell you later." He can't even form complete sentences, he's so tired. At least he can speak. The pain and exhaustion is too much for me. My vision is so blurry, I can't tell which girl is which.

"Austin, behind you!" Ally screams. I blindly swing my sword behind me because at this point, I might be better off with my eyes closed. The blurriness is giving me a headache-or maybe that's just the poison.

"You killed her," Trish says. "That lady was crazy. Austin, why was this game so real? I thought we were gonna die! She almost poisoned us, she tied us up, dipped our heads in water and tried to drown us, and tried to push us off this dumb balcony!"

I feel the poison from that stupid monster creeping closer to my heart. I probably only have minutes to live. At least I'll die before Sarah can get to me.

"Here," Dez says. I think he's untying the girls, while I'm just standing there like an idiot. I collapse from the pain of the poison.

"Austin!" Ally screams, but it sounds far away.

"We still all have to get married for the game to end!" Trish shouts.

"Here, let's just get married here!" Dez says. "We need to hurry." He says whatever the marriage guys say (I don't know the name, and quite frankly, I'm too busy dying trying to figure it out).

"I do," Trish and Ally say at the same time. Their voices are thick, and I feel their gazes on me. My eyes are closed, but even the darkness beneath my lids is blurry. How is that even possible?

Dez says something else and says "I do." He pauses. "Austin, you gotta say 'I do.'" He sounds like he's speaking through water. I know I have to finish the game so my friends can live. I also know that the poison is almost at my heart. I don't know whether to be happy or frustrated that it's so slow.

"I-I do," I whisper.

"You may now kiss the brides," Dez says. I feel Ally crouch down so she can reach me. Then, I feel her soft lips on mine, and I feel tears fall on my cheeks. Wait, I'm not crying. Then, those tears must be hers.

I feel my heart start to race. It beats so hard, it hurts. The poison has reached my heart.

"L-love you," I manage. I open my eyes to see her one last time, even if it's blurry.

"I love you too," she whispers back. I feel her head on my chest, and her tears soak my shirt. Then, I lose consciousness.

I wake up on the floor in my head. I blink because my vision is still a little blurry, but I'm able to see fine after a few seconds. I sit up. "A-Ally?" I say. My voice is hoarse.

I try to stand, but my legs are weak and sore.

"He's awake!" I hear Dez say.

"He's alive?" Trish asks.

"Austin!" Ally exclaims. I see her running towards me, and then I'm tackled back down to the ground in a bone-crushing hug. I sit back up, propping myself on one arm and wrapping the other arm around Ally's small waist and burying my face in the crook of her neck. She falls into my lap as I sit up.

"We thought- I mean you- Dez said- We weren't sure if-" She stops trying to speak and just kisses me. I kiss her back, holding her waist tighter.

When we pull away, she slaps my chest. "Don't ever worry me like that again! You were dead! I thought I lost you!" she screams, punching me with every word. She starts crying and I just pull her close and pat her back.

"Everything's okay," I whisper.

"Don't ever leave me," she tells me.

"Never."

"I love you," she says, burying her face in my shoulder.

"I love you, too. More than you could ever imagine."

After a while of hugging and crying, we stand up. I wipe her tears away with my thumbs and hug Trish and Dez, who shed a few tears themselves.

"As much as you annoy me sometimes, I'm glad you're okay," Trish says. Dez doesn't say anything, but he doesn't really need to.

"Now that we're all happy and reunited," I say, "I think we should wake up. We're probably almost to the Shadow Realm." They nod. I kiss Ally one more time and Trish, Dez and I wake up.

Literally a second after we wake up, the cloud stops.

"We're here!" I exclaim. I feel Ally wake up. I run to the door just as Ally opens it. I'm about to hug her, when she disappears and all I see is white light.

And so, the chapter ends! Whoa, what happened? Why is there a white light? C'mon, can't they get a break? Oh wait, they got a huge break and the good stuff is just starting. Yay! So, did you like it? If you did, put SUPER SWORD in a review! If you kinda liked it, put BEAUTIFUL BOW AND ARROW in a review. If you hated it, put PRETTY POISON in a review! So, I guess that's it. Thanks for reading and please review! Love you more than I love House of Hades! (Which is a lot)
