Hey! I'm back, I was upset that I only got two reviews but oh well. I'll live, anyway this is the 2nd last battle and either the 3rd or 4th or even 5th last chapter to this story. Anyway, has anyone else heard about DW8 XL? I'm really excited, can't wait to play as Chen Gong! And to a lesser degree Zhu Ran!However with the personality they have given Chen Gong, I'm going to modify his role in this series, slightly. I could care less about Yu Jin and Fa Zheng though, I just hope Diao Chan's story is great! This chapter may be rushed, but that's only because I want to finish this story.

Also, I have a poll up so don't forget to vote on that!

Assassin master ezio 91: Thanks! Glad you liked the involvement of the Nanman. Well the waits over!

Kayladw7: Aw thanks! I'm glad you think that, and to be honest, I reckon my stories have improved greatly from the first few I have. I'll try to keep the good work up.

Diao Chan stared up at the night sky, many of the billions of stars were going to fade after tonight. This was the decider, who would rein supreme and in control. Would it be Dong Zhuo? Or would Yuan Shao make his comeback and establish himself as force to be reckoned with once again.

Regardless of the outcome, Diao Chan knew that the loss of either one of those rulers would serve to make the land a better place. Diao Chan wasn't foolish enough to believe if Dong Zhuo died in this battle the land would be in peace.

The entire land was in chaos, the Han Empire was in ruin and Cao Cao was obviously scheming for control over the land. Diao Chan looked over to look at the various soldiers dressed in purple, the full moon's reflection in the pond was a beautiful sight.

Diao Chan hated Dong Zhuo, she loathed him and almost every soldier that willingly served him and was loyal to him. They all were disgusting, vile pigs that deserved to rot in hell. They had ruined the lives of each and every peasant and person living in the Capitol and Chang'An.

Lu Bu... He was a different story however, Diao Chan didn't know why she felt so attracted to him, he was little different to Dong Zhuo... That's what the most beautiful woman in all of China told herself over and over again.

But, was that really true? She had no idea and she wondered if she was really different to men like Dong Zhuo and Yuan Shao.. She was a schemer like them and just like them, she had killed an innocent man.

"My daughter, is something wrong?" Wang Yun's voice cut through the silence Diao Chan had surrounded herself in, she shook her head before looking up to look at her father. "No.. Nothing is wrong, I just wondering about the outcome of this battle."

Wang Yun could tell it was a lie, Diao Chan wasn't trying with that one but he decided not to push the subject, he opened his mouth once more. "My dear daughter, please be careful out on the battlefield. Yuan Shao has gained the aid of Liu Bei and his small army. Plus I've heard Cao Cao will be arriving at this battle himself with his army."

Diao Chan kept her gaze up as she spoke in a quiet voice, so no one could hear the treasonous words that were about to leave her mouth. "Should we defect and join him?" Wang Yun shook his head and in an equally quiet voice he answers. "No. Now is not the time, we must ensure Dong Zhuo's fall before we join Cao Cao."

Diao Chan nods and smiles sweetly. "Don't worry Father, I'll be right here. Watching the battle and see how it unfolds." Wang Yun gave a weak smile in response and walked back down to the main camp.

She looked back up at the sky and glanced at the moon, she smiled as she remembered the rumours that had been spread about her beauty. The moon had a beauty that was incomparable, if anything she would hide away in embarrassment being compared to it.

"I wonder how made Zhen Ji will be when she realizes I'm not on the frontlines." A genuine laugh escaped Diao Chan's luscious pink lips as she thought of Zhen Ji's rage and how hilarious it would be.

Her blue eyes shined as bright as the moon as a tune was heard. This was a traditional tune played at the start of a significant battle, judging by the skill and how perfect the tune was it was clear to Diao Chan that Zhen Ji was playing this melody.

As soon as the tune died down, soldiers from both sides rushed to battle. Diao Chan closed her eyes as she sent silent prayers for all the lives being lost and ruined in this chaos. When she opened her eyes, the brown-red (honestly, what is Diao Chan's DW8 hair colour) looked at the chaos and she knew instantly that this battle would be a long one.

A lone figure sighed as he approached the Wei army, which had camped near the battle. The lone figure was Xu You and he knew it was time to leave Yuan Shao. The fool had left a drunken, incompetent man in charge of defending the supply depoy at Wu Chao.

Honestly, what kind of leader would listen to Tian Feng and Guo Tu over actual strategies? Yuan Shao was an incompetent leader that relied on the number of his army. Xu You new he should of gone with Guo Jia earlier.

When he arrived at the Wei main camp, Cao Cao's guards were behind him immediately, Guo Jia smirked and Xu You also saw Cao Cao with a slight grin on his face. Cao Cao's son Cao Pi showed no emotion.

Yue Jin and Li Dian were standing close to each other, most likely going to fight as a pair in the battle. Cao Cao's cousins Xiahou Dun and Xiahou Yuan both raised an eyebrow at Xu You's sudden surrender.

Cao Cao's personal bodyguard Dian Wei moved closer to Cao Cao, ready to protect his lord from any danger. "Why have you come here?" Cao Cao questioned as Xu You answered with his reasons.

"Why should we trust you? You have loyally followed Yuan Shao for quite a while, what brings about this sudden defection?" It was a reasonable question but before Xu You could answer his soon to be new Lord, Guo Jia interrupted.

"My Lord, I know for a fact that this defection is no trick. It would be foolish to pass up such an opportunity." Cao Cao thought for a while before finally agreeing, Xu You bowed and quickly changed into a blue version of his outfit.

"My lord, I know where the supply depot is. It's at Wu Chao and Yuan Shao has ordered the drunkard Chunyu Qiong to defend it, if we sneak and set it on fire we can convince many of Yuan Shao's officers to defect."

The officers smiled as they knew that victory would be theirs if they could pull off this fire attack on the supply depot. Guo Jia and Cao Cao whispered to each other about something, Cao Cao then told his generals the strategy as they prepared to march out to battle.

Diao Chan continued watching from afar as she witnessed Lu Bu in a duel with both Yan Liang and Wen Chou, two of Yuan Shao's strongest generals. Or that's what the rumours said, Diao Chan wondered if they had been spread due to a false claim.

In a matter of seconds, Wen Chou's head parted from his shoulders. "I have slain the 'great' Wen Chou!" Boasted Lu Bu, it was obvious by the way he said great that he wasn't impressed by the pathetic fight Wen Chou had put up.

Yan Liang growled in rage as he shouted, "I will avenge Wen Chou!" Surprisingly, Yan Liang put up an impressive fight. Well, as impressive as a weak soldier could be against Lu Bu before the halberd was thrusted through Liang's chest.

Diao Chan watched as Lu Bu had to shake his halberd blindly and wildly to get the deceased Yan Liang off. When the dead body landed in front of his former soldiers, they froze in the spot as the reality just struck them.

Two of their best generals had just perished at the start of the battle. One screamed loudly, shouting that Lu Bu was a monster and he turned tail and fled, screaming to the land that Yan Liang and Wen Chou had just died.

Diao Chan turned her eyes elsewhere and saw Zhen Ji standing with a man, the man cowering in fear. Zhen Ji glared at the man and Diao Chan knew instantly that this was her husband Yuan Xi. "Yuan Xi! Nothing is going to happen and stop hiding behind me! Not only does it shame me but it also shames the rest of your family!" She claimed coldly, her eyes rolling in annoyance.

Diao Chan rolled her eyes as well, she looked away only to look back when she saw Zhen Ji scream. Quickly turning her head, Diao Chan saw what seemed to be in slow motion. Yuan Xi was attacking a man she believed to be Cao Pi, Yuan Xi's swing missed as Cao Pi thrusts his weapon into Xi's stomach.

Chan saw the smirk on Pi's face as he pulled his sword out and quickly swung it at Xi's neck, Ji's screams grew louder as her husband's head rolled on the ground as his body slowly collapsed, despite the screams, Diao Chan sensed no heartbreak from Ji.

Zhen Ji's screams slowly stopped as she took up a battle stance. "What is a beautiful flower like yourself doing with the pathetic Yuan clan? I suggest you come join me." Declared Cao Pi boldly. Ji glared harder at the man that just killed her husband. "My, my aren't we bold? But even animals should learn to hold their tongue!"

Cao Pi smirked at her response and suddenly attacked her, he was awfully surprised when she skilfully blocked the attack and kicked him in the stomach, she twirled and blocked another of his strikes with her flute.

Diao Chan decided to turn her attention elsewhere, she smiled as she thanked the heavens she wasn't participating in that battle. It was Zhang Liao against Yue Jin and Li Dian against Wang Yi and Zhang He.

Looking away once more, Diao Chan witnessed a fight between Li Ru and Guo Tu. It wasn't interesting in the least compared to the others. She looked up at the moon, and just wondered if anything would ever be peaceful once more?

Meanwhile, Jia Xu was working on a covert mission. Dong Min, the brother of Dong Zhuo, had been captured during a previous battle with Yuan Shao and Xu knew he was here, in these prison cells.

While some may of called him suicidal, Jia Xu had no doubt that his abilities would reign supreme and both he and Min would make it out unscathed. Sneaking behind the guard, a massive, beastly man. Jia Xu quickly took out his dagger and quickly sliced through the guards throat.

Smirking, Xu continued to the cell where Dong Min was in. Swinging his Chain and Sickle, Jia Xu cut off the lock and slammed open the door. Dong Min quickly ran out. "Oh Thank you! You do-" Dong Min was interrupted by Jia Xu's shushing.

"Hush! We need to be quiet." Commanded Jia Xu as he snuck into the shadows and around the main camp, pausing to listen to Yuan Shao and Tian Feng talking about something. "Don't worry, Lord Yuan Shao. It's the perfect strategy." Told Tian Feng.

A sigh was heard from Yuan Shao, "If you say so then I suppose I will allow you to carry it out." Jia Xu leaned closer, from the small ledge he was on. He cursed when a bit of it broke and fell off.

The sound was heard throughout the main camp. Yuan Shao looked around. "Did you hear that? I think we have an enemy spy." Yuan Shao said, as he saw the silhouettes of JiaXu and Dong Min.

"I suppose it was nothing." The dramatic noble lied, turning around and only when he thought one of them relaxed, he turned around swiftly and launched a flying sword at one of the silhouettes.

Jia Xu gasped in shock as the sword pierced his stomach. He frowned, this wasn't how he wanted to meet his end, saving Dong Min and sacrificing his life for his safety. He wanted to see how far Diao Chan went with her plan, he wanted to do more. In fact, he had ambitions of becoming Master Strategist. He had began competing with Li Ru for the title.

"Go... Now!" He ordered Dong Min, who without hesitation immediately began to flee for safety. Jia Xu's eyes sparkled with determination, if he was going to meet his end in this battle he was at least going to take out Tian Feng or Yuan Shao.

Removing the sword, he leapt down and swung his chain and sickle around wildly, Yuan Shao stealthily ducked just in time to avoid decapitation. However, Tian Feng wasn't as lucky and with one last gasp, off rolled his head. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion from then on as Jia Xu's vision blurred and he began coughing up blood as he landed with a thud.

Dying, he began to crawl forward with his blackening and fading vision, dagger in hand. Jia Xu used the last of his strength to hurl the dagger at Yuan Shao. But he never knew if he hit his target, because at that moment his vision turned to black completely and he finally stopped moving.

Jia Xu had died and would become known as the very first major victim of this crisis and at the other side of the battlefield, Diao Chan felt something. A nagging feeling in her mind that told her something terrible had just happened.

I apologise that this wasn't the actual battle, but I was just drawing blanks. And I know the deaths of Yan Liang, Wen Chou and Tian Feng were just thrown in, but this sets the scene for the actual battle.

Also, Jia Xu was killed for no reason in particular, but also to state that anything can happen in this series. Plus, his death will serve a purpose in the sequel.

Until next time! Plus, does anyone know what I can name this series? I was thinking the Forbidden Rose series or even Changing Heart series. Please tell me ideas! Because I really need a series name! I'll also have a poll, so you can vote for what you think because I'm drawing blanks.
