A/N: Happy new year everyone! And with everything that comes along with it, how about starting off the New Year with some Jemily fluff? Even if it may be a little late but that can't be helped. Some facts may be off in here too but that can't be helped either. I'm also kind of setting up for the honeymoon here a little bit. See if you can guess what!
"I told you we would see each other again," Ashley grins as the newlyweds follow Adam and the unknown girl. Emily smiles back at her, noticing the other space rangers in the little cluster. Although Andros and Zhane had slipped away and are now talking to the Operation Overdrive rangers, looking very interested in whatever Tyzonn is saying. They should anyway, since they are the few aliens here out of all the human rangers.
"Of course! You guys were the Turbo rangers before going into space, after all," she tells the former yellow space ranger. "I should have known."
"Tanya, you haven't introduced yourself yet." Adam nudges the girl in yellow who nudges him back and then turns to the Samurai rangers.
"Sorry about before," she apologizes. "I was in a rush."
"We could tell," Carlos jokes but quiets when she glances at him.
"I'm Tanya Sloan, yellow Zeo and Turbo ranger, appointed by Aisha Campbell herself," she declares, crossing her arms over her chest. "And Adam's wife," she adds as an afterthought. Jayden's eyes widen.
"W-wife?" he stutters out, just now noticing her ring. "I don't remember that."
"It was a quiet wedding," Tanya shrugs.
"Unlike you," says Cassie teasingly, grinning at the older girl. Tanya sticks out her tongue in a very childlike manner but doesn't deny the other's accusation.
"I've never heard you say you've had a problem with it," she retorts.
"I never said I do," Cassie shots back. The two girls look at each other before bursting into giggles that Ashley quickly joins. The boys look at each other, a little lost and even Emily is missing out on the joke. But she doesn't mind in the least.
"Which reminds me," Ashley gets out through her laughs. "You g-guys still ha-haven't met Justin, r-right?" The two Samurai shake their heads.
"I'll get him," TJ volunteers. He leaves their group for a moment to go off in search of the young ranger.
"He's probably flirting with anything that moves," mutters Carlos, pulling at his tie in obvious discomfort. He had had it on for three hours or so, he thinks it's about time to take it off!
"Like you don't," points out Adam. Carlos glares at him but then shrugs, allowing that.
"What can I say? I'm a heartbreaker," he boasts.
"I don't know if that' something to be proud of," Ashley reprimands him, frowning. He quickly backpedals.
"I meant that the girls can't stop themselves from throwing them at me."
"He's been hanging around with Zhane for too long." Cassie rolls her eyes.
"Besides, most girls in here are taken away," Tanya breezily reminds him. "So I think both you and Justin are out of luck."
"I'm sure you'll find someone perfect out there," Emily says kindly, not liking Carlos's grim expression. "You just need the right moment."
"You are a romantic, aren't you?" asks Adam. Emily blushes but nods and twists her ring around her finger.
"I just can't help it."
"Good thing I am too," Jayden murmurs, unable to resist pressing a kiss to her forehead. At her laugh, it makes him want to kiss her again and again until that's all she knows.
"But TJ, you promised!" At a kid's voice, they all turn to see the so addressed man leading a younger boy towards their group, a pout on his lips.
"I know Justin, I know, but you have to meet the people who are the reason you're here, okay?" TJ tries to reassure him. Justin sighs but nods and skips up to their group.
"Hey guys!" he chirps out. Ashley laughs and reaches out to adjust his blue bow tie that seems to have been tied a little wrong.
"You don't know how to tie a tie, do you?" she asks jokingly as she attempts to straighten it. Justin bats her hands away.
"I'm not a kid anymore!" he protests, a hint of a whine in his voice. "I'm seventeen! And why would I need to know how to do that anyway?" Yes, he certainly seems seventeen with that pout, Jayden thinks.
"You'd be surprised how often it comes in handy," says TJ dryly. "Now introduce yourself to them." He points to Jayden and Emily and the seventeen year old turns to them.
"Nice to meet you both," he says, reaching out a hand to shake. "I'm Justin, but you probably knew that already."
"We did guess as much," admits Emily, shaking his hand. "It's lovely to meet you."
"You were a ranger quite young, weren't you?" inquires Jayden, dropping the boy's hand. He nods and shifts from foot to foot.
"Yeah. I was about twelve of so," Justin says, scratching the back of his neck. "Technically, I'm the youngest ranger." Jayden raises an eyebrow.
"Technically?"
"Mack was, when he was an android," Adam explains.
"Come on Jayden, step up your studies!" Tanya teases. Jayden smirks at her.
"I usually do but I've just been distracted lately for some odd reason…"
"Hey!" Emily frowns at him mockingly. "I'm not odd."
"Did I ever mention you?" Jayden smiles and kisses her forehead once again. He just can't resist. Emily has changed him so much and made everything about him better. Now he's not afraid to joke or be affectionate or anything. He can just be…Jayden.
"Did the great red Samurai just crack a joke?" Carlos looks like he's about to faint. And yep, there it is-his thoughts exactly.
"He jokes around," protests Ashley. "But some people aren't as free at it as you."
"You mean Andros, mostly," Cassie corrects her.
"Do you know how close they are?" Justin gazes at the newlyweds with wide eyes. "When I couldn't come, they sent me video chats every now and then. And Ashley couldn't stop talking about him. And then I found out they're together. Like together, together. And then married. And then-"
"I think that's enough," Adam pats him on the shoulder, saving the others from any more embarrassment. Ashley had blushed during the younger's monologue and gives Adam a grateful glance.
"You were a little like Jayden then," Emily says, trying to change the subject. She adjusts her dress's folds as Justin frowns.
"How so?"
"Well for one, he started training when he was really young," Emily explains, holding her husband's hand tighter. She knows it's a sensitive topic for him, with Lauren being the true red ranger and all. "Younger then you, even." Justin's eyes widen.
"Really?"
"I think it was about seven or eight," Jayden agrees, trying to think back. He can't really think of much except the feeling of being a shadow. But now, it's all okay. "Either way, it was for a long time."
"How did you handle it?" Tanya asks. She had started off completely new to everything but at least she was a teenager and not some kid. "I mean, that young?" Jayden shrugs.
"It was all I ever knew so it didn't seem so bad. Besides, it's best to start young." And it was what was best for everyone. Sensing her husband's discomfort, Emily rubs circles on the back of his hand with her thumb. He gives her a grateful smile.
"Speaking of young…" TJ breaks in. "I think you have a new young team to welcome." They all turn and look in the direction he's indicating and see five teenagers walking through the door, looking awkward and out of place.
"Ah, so those are the newbies," Carlos grins, looking them up and down. "Not bad, not bad." Cassie nudges him sharply. "Ow! That was a compliment!" He rubs his side ruefully.
"They look uncomfortable," Emily observes sympathetically. Jayden nods, trying to see them closer up. They do look rather young, no more than high school. Sure, he started when he was super young and was only nineteen when they defeated Xandred, but still. These guys couldn't be out of high school, at the very most.
"We should go say high," exclaims Emily, tugging Jayden along. "We'll see you guys around!"
"Maybe we will," Ashley says, winking at them as they walk away.
A/N: Now time for the maknaes to meet the other maknaes! How will things turn out? This is the third-to-last chapter, by the way. We're almost done! And if you have any suggestions on the honeymoon, where you want it, what will happen, etc, don't be afraid to leave it in a review because I will probably use a lot of your guy's ideas! Mwah!
