A/N: Last chapter guys!
"Very nice, Emily." Mia hands her the white sweater that goes with her yellow sundress. The younger girl pulls it on, her hands shaking slightly with excitement.
"What do you think Jayden planned?" she asks, smoothing down her dress with unsteady hands. Mia purses her lips as she hangs the wedding dress in the room's small closet. She'll pick it up later and deliver it to Emily's house while her friend is on her honeymoon.
"I'm not sure," she answers, keeping her back to the yellow Samurai to hide her smile. Jayden had informed all of the Samurai rangers of his plan beforehand, as well as some of the other rangers that helped him sort everything out. But he had sworn them to secrecy so she couldn't tell her best friend. "I'm sure whatever it is, you'll love it."
"Of course. I'll love anything he does," Emily replies innocently. "But I didn't even pack and-"
"I took care of that for you," interrupts Mia. Emily looks at her with wide eyes. "He kind of told me so I could do exactly that." Mia shrugs sheepishly.
"And you're not telling me?" Emily points out teasingly.
"He made me promise!" protests Mia, laughing. "But don't worry, you're all set. I made sure everything you need is in there. And it's already in the limo so you don't have to worry."
"You're so amazing Mia," Emily sighs. Mia smiles and lets the bride take her hand as they exit the room. Even with such a happy answer, Emily is still nervous. It's not the prospect of a honeymoon that is making her anxious, it's what is to come during a honeymoon.
True, she loves spending time with Jayden when it's just the two of them, she craves it like nothing else, but this time is a little different.
"Mia," she says, then stops herself. The pink ranger looks over curiously.
"Yes?"
"I'm…I feel…it's nothing," mumbles Emily, holding Mia's hand tighter as they open the wide doors that lead to the reception room.
"Em, it's okay. Everything will just get better from here." Mia tells her reassuringly. "Trust me. It'll be fun."
"Thanks Mia." Emily smiles in relief. "You are such a good friend." Mia grins but has no chance to answer as when they walk through the doors, they're met with applause. Emily sheepishly waves and smiles at all the former rangers.
Jayden walks forward from the crowd, having changed into black pants and a red T-shirt with a gray jacket. "Ready to go?" he asks, holding an arm out with a smile hinting at the corners of his lips.
Emily nods and gives Mia one last hug before taking his arm. "Where are we going?"
"You'll love it, Em," he reassures her. The crowd parts, making an aisle to the two can walk through and they start to throw yellow roses at the couple.
"Did you plan this too? "Emily squeals, catching one that Ashley threw. The yellow Astro ranger waves at her excitedly.
"Maybe I did," answers Jayden teasingly. She can barely hear him over the chattering of the former rangers but she doesn't mind. They continue to be showered with the yellow roses. Maya seems to be having a lot of fun with this part and is explaining to Leo how it's quite similar to Mirinoi weddings.
"Have fun!" calls Sydney, clutching Sky's arm tightly.
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do," warns Will, playing with a rose.
"How is that supposed to be reassuring?" Ronny rolls her eyes, laughing and nudges Mack standing next to her.
"They look so good together," Kimberly comments to Tommy, twirling her pink diamond studs.
"Not as much as we do though, right?" Tommy grins.
"Get a room," Rocky barges in, only for Cassie and Aisha to glare at him while Kimberly crosses her arms.
"Catch Emily!" Summer throws her another rose but Emily misses and it hits Jayden instead. He laughs, and hands it to his wife.
"Bring back lots of pictures," Kevin reminds them, waiting at the end of the makeshift aisle where he's opening the door, letting in the cool night air.
"Thanks Kevin." Jayden gives him a one armed hug. "Take care of Mia."
"And propose already!" interjects Antonio enthusiastically, only for Kevin to scowl and shush him.
"Have fun Emily," Mike says, giving her a hug. "Jayden's planned everything perfectly. Don't waste it."
"Really?" Emily raises her eyebrows and Jayden nods.
"Down to the last detail," elaborates Cam, coming into the conversation. "With my help, of course."
"How modest of you," Conner says. Cam narrows his eyes at him.
"Thank you all for coming," Emily calls out, holding Jayden's arm tighter as they stand with their backs to the door. "I enjoyed it very much and I hoped you did as well."
"Of course we did!" Jen calls out, grinning. "We already knew it was going to happen anyway."
"You and your time technology." Dillon shakes his head.
"It was lovely meeting all of you and I hope to see you all again soon," Emily declares sincerely, giving Jayden a pointed look. He coughs. He's gotten better at public speaking or just sharing in general but to address such a crowd as this is a little nerve-wracking, for sure.
"Yeah, thanks. I liked meeting you all. It was fun."
"Is that all we're going to get?" Cole yells teasingly. Taylor smacks him lightly as Eric watches, amused.
"Manners Cole," Alyssa scolds him.
"We'll see you in two weeks!" Emily smiles and waves at the crowd before Kevin ushers them through the doors to the waiting limo. She stops in her tracks.
"Wow Jayden," she murmurs, letting her eyes roam over the long black car. She's really not used to such things. "It's so…fancy."
"If you think this is fancy, just wait until we get there," Jayden chuckles, opening the door for her and helping her in. Emily lets her curiosity grow. She can't stand the suspense.
"Where are we going?" She gets herself settled on the white leather seats inside the limo. It's complete with a small flat screen and a cooler. It's not the fanciest it could be but for Emily, it's more than enough.
Jayden grins. "I'll tell you in a minute."
"Jayden! That's not fair!" Emily pouts, the moment bringing her back to when he proposed to her.
"Emily?"
"Hmm?" I ask, still entranced by the sunset.
"I have a question for you and I want you to answer honestly." That catches my attention. I perk up, lifting my head from his shoulder to look at him in the evening shadows.
"Oh?" I ask, intrigued. He chuckles softly.
"I thought that might catch your attention."
"What is it, Jayden?" In the sudden darkness, I can barely make out his expression of amusement.
"Well…" he pauses. "It seems I've forgotten it."
"Oh come on Jayden, what is it?" I demand to know but not stopping the smile spreading across my face. My suspicions are aroused at his question.
"Hmmm, let's see if I remember it…nope, it's not coming back," he teases me.
"Oh come on Jayden! That's not fair!"
"On the contrary, I think it's very fair," he grins, his teeth making their way in the night. The lantern of the nearby shed automatically clicks on as the hour chimes. For all it's worth, al the light does is make me be able to see his lightened face. It casts our shadows from the rock over the water and grass, elongating them.
"Please, Jayden? You can't just tell me you have a question for me and then not tell me," I pout. He laughs lightly as I cross my arms and lean away to get a better view of his face.
"Jayden, tell me," I whine, nudging him gently. He puts a finger to his chin, pretending to think about my pleas. I roll his eyes at his stubbornness.
"Aha! It seems I've remembered," he cries out softly, the look on his face triumphant. I raise my eyebrows at him expectantly, a knowing smile making its way on my face. He pauses a second more before getting up, confusing me. I remain sitting, unsure of what he's thinking.
His back is to me as he looks out into the horizon, as the last of the sun disappears behind the earth. The water rushes at his feet, swirling patterns in the bubbles.
"Emily, you know how much you mean to me, right?" His voice carries to me on the wind. I nod, a smile tugging at my lips. He means everything to me too.
"You know I love you. How I would go through anything for you. How…" he suddenly turns back to face me, his face serious. His hair is ruffled in the slight breeze that has picked up. It blows my hair around my faces as well, strands getting in the way of me seeing his face. I brush them away with my hand, still intent on Jayden and what he will say next.
"How I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
My heart stops for a moment at the look on his face. My breath catches. Is he saying what I think he's saying…?
"Emily…" he kneels down in front of me, the light marking particular shadows on his face.
"Will you marry me?"
"This seems familiar," Emily comments, snapping out of her thoughts. Jayden gets in beside her, shutting the door.
"What do you mean?"
"Tell you later," counters Emily, smiling. Jayden shakes his head as his method is turned back on him as Emily rolls the window down and waves to the others.
"Bye!" she calls out, beaming. Her blond hair flows behind her as they start to pick up speed and it shines in the darkness.
The Samurai rangers are right in front and they wave until the limo turns a corner and they are no longer visible. Emily closes the window and settles back in her seat. "You were saying?"
"You mean you were saying." Jayden smiles and even though they have the long, leather seat, he pulls Emily closer to him and wraps an arm around her shoulder.
"I was just thinking it was very similar to when you proposed to me," Emily says, leaning her head on Jayden. "How you kept me in suspense."
"You in suspense? I thought I was going to die if you took any longer to answer," Jayden teases. Emily nudges him lightly.
"I was just so surprised," she explains. "But anyway, where are we going? Please tell me!"
"Since you asked so nicely," Jayden presses a kiss to her forehead. "It's someplace beautiful and exotic and different."
"Beautiful, exotic, different," murmurs Emily, thinking hard and staring out the window. The city looks beautiful at night, all the bright lights against the deep darkness. Jayden laughs at the cute expression she is making.
"It has something to do with what we are and what we do," he hints. Emily tries to think back but cannot come up with anything.
"I don't know," she admits, shrugging. Jayden smiles gently and lets Emily claim his other hand with both of her own. "Please tell me, ." She winks at him as he laughs.
"Points to you," concedes the red ranger. "We're going to…Okinawa!"
"Okinawa?" Emily echoes, looking confused.
"Yes, Okinawa. Since we are Samurai and Samurai are Japanese, what better place?" Jayden explains hopefully. He doesn't know what she's thinking or if she'll approve of him making a decision without her. He's still not too used to giving the reins over to someone else but if it's Emily, he'll adapt better soon enough. "Are you okay with that?" He hopes his nervousness doesn't show in his voice.
To his surprise, Emily snuggles closer to him and closes her eyes, a wide smile spreading across her face. "It's perfect. Absolutely perfect."
"Just like how you are for me."
