Sorry, been busy with school for this week. First time I've set foot in a public school for five years.
Disclimer: If I had invented the show, it would be on season two trillion. But it ain't.
Danny found himself in the green abyss of the Ghost Zone, but everything was muted. As his ghost sense went off, he knew who it was instantly. Clockwork. But what was he doing here?
"I am here to explain the Ghost Zone, as I do for all who enter. You cannot be seen by any on earth for four years. You may visit as much as you like, but Tucker, Jazz, Sam, and your parents won't see you. Furthermore, you cannot ever run completely run out of power for that will obliterate you. Your body will attempt to retreat without your say-so if your energy gets dangerously low. Best of luck, Phantom."
Four years passed, and with those four, he made the tedious and dangerous journey a multitude of times to watch silently as his town and family tried getting on with their lives. And in that time, he grew. Taking the shape of a young man and even growing a goatee- though it came in black as his human hair had. On his twentieth birthday, exactly four and a half years after his death, he rejoiced in making the journey where his family and friends would see him at last.
Getting to his old home he chuckled as he rang the doorbell. His mother answered, staring in shock at the child –now a man- which stood before her at her doorstep. "D…Daa...Danny?" He reached forward and took her in his arms, shushing her and comforting Maddie as she burst into tears at his touch. She fell to her knees, and he slithered down with her.
"GET AWAY FROM MY WIFE, SPOOK!" Jack thundered, and the sound of an ectoblastic weapon powered up, shooting at Phantom before Maddie could screech "Jack, NO!" Danny Phantom was thrown out into the middle of the street, and Danny rose his eyebrow at his father and laughed outright. "Just like old times, eh, Dad? Good shot, by the way, you're getting better." Jack stared at his son then dropped his weapon, rushing out to the street and grabbing his son up.
Tears were shed as a realization that their Danny was back, their baby who had ruined their life by dying in that gymnasium four years before.
After inquiring where all the ghosts had gone, Jack and Maddie gave him the shock of his after-life.
"What do you mean, you are all half-ghosts?!" Danny exclaimed. "What the hell… I don't even… What the hell?"
"Danny! I may not be your mother anymore, but…language!"
"You will always be my mother. But I can't believe this. Why would you do that?"
Jack grinned, phasing into his ghostly half, named "Fudginator". In place of his orange and black jumpsuit, there stood a jumpsuit of identical design, but blue where orange had been and soft off-white where black had been. His bright blue eyes became a gentle brown, and skin an oxygen deprived blue. His hair had switched too, from black going white to white with grey.
Danny's mouth stood open.
Maddie chuckled at her baby boys' expression, turning into her ghostly half, the "Mother Board". In her teal-and-black jumpsuits place was a maroon colored suit with white where the black once was. Her eyes now an electric green, hair turned medium blue and lipstick into a darker undersea blue.
Shock turned Danny intangible, causing him to fall through the couch. "We were attacked in rapid succession after your death. We had to do something or the town would have perished. So, Jack, Jazz, Sam, Tuck and I all changed. We had to. Even then, son, we weren't enough."
Jack received a sharp elbow to the ribs by his wife for this. "Stop, let Sam tell him."
"Right as usual, Mads. Jazzerincess, call Sam down please."
"SAM? She… She's here?"
"Of course, Danny-boy. After your death, the Manson's sent her away to England to keep her away from us 'lunatics' that tried to kill her. She boarded the first plane home, and hasn't spoken to them since, taking Ida away in the middle of the night. Ida's still here."
Samantha Manson came down the stairs wearing a light violet gown and escorted by Tucker, who wore a gold wedding band. She looked scared, of what Danny didn't know. Then, her eyes lifted to where Danny stood and her mouth dropped open, closing as she flew into his arms, and full of a wonderful smile as he swooped her up and twirled her around. After their moment of bliss, he realized his beloved was rather shapely around her middle and he felt something akin to betrayal as he felt the baby move within her.
"We thought you were never coming back. We needed another Phantom around, and so I… your parents took DNA recorded before the portal accident. They asked my permission. I'm carrying your child, your blood." At that moment, Valerie chose to enter the door into Fentonworks. She had a young child floating in her arms and spoke in an aggravated voice.
"Madylyne. Jackkie. Could you take the kid? I've got more important things to do. He's being a bother again."
Danny's eyes flared as he saw her enter with a dark skinned child with bright green eyes and black, spiky hair. "Who would this be?"
She jerked back upon seeing Danny and bit her lip, then sneered at the child, plopping him unceremoniously into Danny's arms. "Your dead son, Daniel Damon Grey Phantom. Dan, this is your father. Danny, you can keep him. I need my life back."
Tucker stared in shock at his wife, watching her so obviously not care about his best friend's son.
"Val, Dan is my—"
"Your what, Tucker Marley Foley? Not your kid, or your responsibility. And since he's dead, no one alive should have to care for him. SO THERE.
She left without another word, and Danny turned to Tucker in shock and astonishment, confusion lighting his face."
"Danny, her father died in capital punishment three weeks ago after he was convicted of killing Vladimir Masters for raping Valerie. Vlad was killed only days after you died. I had Mom obliterate him afterwards. We couldn't see him but the Boomerang tracked him."
"And it didn't track me? Why?"
"Don't you remember? After we discovered your secret, we took your DNA and deactivated your signal."
"Oh. Right. Well, anyways, I will raise my son in the 'Zone' after some time here on earth and come back every few weeks. Meanwhile, I have something for our baby, Sammie."
She raised her eyebrow, letting out a gasp as his eyes glowed bright blue and ice flowed from his fingertips, creating a glow in the middle of the room as the shape of a crib formed.
Translucent like a prism, colorless, he took his other hand and at the same time he willed ectoplasm to come forth, bringing the two together and creating a soft looking mat inside.
Tears formed on Sam's cheeks and she hugged Danny as he smiled and held her by the waist. "It will never melt, never gets too cold or hot. And when we find out the gender I can add color to it. Do you…do you like it?"
"LIKE IT?! Danny, I love it! It's perfect. She'll love it!"
She paused as it disappeared. "Where—"
"I sent it up to the room with pink curtains. I know that sure ain't your room, Sam."
"You…sent it?!"
"Yup. I can see the house in my mind's eye and sent it where it belongs. I can do the other furniture later. Now, I know we have lots to catch up on, but would you consider…"
Dropping onto one knee, the white-haired phantom twirled his left hand over his right and then took Samantha's hand.
"Marrying me?"
He produced a sparkling diamond from his right hand and grinned as she gasped. "Oh, YES!"
Ten years went by, and Danny stayed at his former abode much of that time. Dan, however, couldn't be out of the Ghost Zone very much, as it was well known babies and young children destabilized much quicker than adult ghosts. As time went by, Danny learned that Dan had been injured badly in a car wreck a week after his birth, on Valerie's return from the hospital after his birth. The baby had died before an ambulance could arrive, and so Valerie raced to the Fenton's, hoping they could restore his life. When they weren't able to, she refused to let him go into the 'Zone. But after four years of caring for a one-week old, she was sick of it. Ghost babies only grew in the Ghost Zone, and had she not kept him in an ecto-crib, Dan would have been involuntarily obliterated by the first month.
Surprisingly, over the years, Dan did develop a half-ghost form.
Danny's daughter, Idaleane Jackalyne Fenton, grew up happily and healthy. Danny and Sm stayed together for the rest of Sam's life, then continuing for the rest of eternity.
And Danny wouldn't have had it any other way.
A/N: And that's it! I hope you all enjoyed it. I'm going to start working on the 'official' DP head canon soon. Want to see what Dan –and Idaleane look like? I'll have pictures up by tomorrow here:
