James read on as he waited for the train to arrive. The paper included the basic outline of the criminals description in which it detailed them as overdressed hustlers that take pleasure in toying with their victims. A photo containing Mr. Bell's badly bruised face was placed at the center of the page and to the astonishment of James it was adorned with a set of women's lips on the threshold of the mans cheek. It was very clear to see that this man had gone through hell.

"Good God, what on earth could this man have done to deserve this?" James wondered aloud

The paperboy behind the stand looked up and said "What've you been living under a rock? These are daily happenings in New York, the only thing that makes this out of the ordinary is that thugs don't ordinarily target bartenders in there own shop, let alone war heroes."

The sound of the train whistle let off in the distance letting Mr. Possible know that the three o'clock was indeed on time. He tossed the paper in the waste bin nearest to him he made his way on the closest spot he could to the train as it halted next to the platform. The anticipation was killing him it had been at least close to three weeks since he had last seen his wife and child before they he had left for New York seeking employment under Mr. Ryan and he could not be any happier than he was now. The train braked and let out a large jet of steam from its boilers signaling its arrival at the long awaited destination. The wait was at long last over.

Aboard the train in the first class section was a young and excited Kimberly and a very anxious Mrs. Possible. Looking out the window to see if she could spot her husband on the platform Anne began to very carefully scan through the crowd and located him. After straining her eyes to no avail she was startled by a rapped tapping sound coming from the side of the car. Looking down to her immediate front outside the window she saw James standing in a black trench coat and fedora waving at her.

"It's daddy!" Kimmy screamed jumping up and down on her seat much to her mother's disapproval

"Sit down sweetheart, I don't think your father would appreciate you damaging the seats and receiving a bill courtesy of the Pennsylvania Railroad." Said Anne sternly to her daughter

The porter came in to assist the expecting Mrs. Possible with her luggage from the overhead brackets and helped both her and her daughter upon exiting the train. James upon seeing this went to tip the man for his help but the man politely declined. Instead saying that it would be a scandal for him to accept payment for something he viewed as common courtesy.

Kim wasted no time in latching herself to her father who she had missed dearly in the weeks passed since she had last seen him. "I missed you so much daddy"

"And I you" he replied kneeling to his daughters respective height

Anne quickly let out a small sigh "Ahem" to which James turned and stood to speak with her at eye level "What about the woman who is carrying the latest edition to our growing family?" she asked in a mildly sarcastic tone

James grabbed her as they were in the infamous scene from Casablanca and added "I love you too my dear" then looking down to her protruding tummy and said "all of you"

Whilst sharing a kiss Kimmy took this as the opportune moment to make her brief escape in search of adventure in which she managed to make her way up to the locomotive and climbing up the stepladder to the cab of the engine. It did not take long however for the driver to realize that they had taken on an extra passenger and quickly seized her up before she could get into any more trouble.

He hoisted her up on his hip the coal covered driver asked her what she was doing.

"I wanted to see how everything worked" Kim replied as if this was a normal occurrence

The driver turned to the fireman who was in the process of releasing steam pressure from the locomotive and said "Looks like we have a tomboy for an assistant" turning back to Kim and humoring her sense of curiosity he said "tell you what, I can't show you how everything works but I can let you pull that lever over there" setting her down in the seat where he would ordinarily be seated during the drives he merely pointed to the handle suspended by a rope above her and said "Have at it"

Meanwhile back on the platform both James and Anne were searching for where Kim could have set off for. The search didn't last long when they heard a loud blast from the locomotives whistle that lasted a good five seconds causing most all the people on the platform to stop and look where the noise had come from. Both Mr. and Mrs. Possible came rushing up to the source of the noise to see Kim standing next to the driver through the engine doorway. The engineer smiled and looked down at both of them from his vantage point and said "I believe I have something that belongs to you".

Both James and Anne smiled and thanked the coal covered man as he hoisted himself down carrying Kim on his shoulder and handed her back to them.

The man simply stated "It's no big" obviously intending to finish with deal but he never got the chance do to the interruption by Kimmy "Thank you Mr."

"No problem Missy now you be good for your mom and dad you hear?" the driver said as he climbed back into the engine cab

Kimmy simply smiled and replied with "its no big" as she was carted away with her mother and father along the platform by a very flustered Mr. Stoppable

"We must get moving quickly now" he said directing the Possible clan down the platform towards the station's exit "Sorry for the rude introduction but it is most urgent that you not be late for the picnic" he said turning to face Anne as they passed through the glass doors

Outside the station Kimmy could make out the tops of the New York skyline through some all the billboards and signs that adorned the buildings as she was dragged along by her mother and fathers hands. She struggled to keep up with them but luckily wasn't forced to for very long as she found herself in front of a beautiful blue Cadillac limo. The seats felt very bouncy as she was placed between her mother and father during the drive.

While the grown ups continued to talk business Kimberly simply stared out the window at the buildings passing by. The crowded city was like nothing she had ever seen back at Middleton which was primarily composed of farmlands that had only recently been developed just short of the wars start back in 1941. The cars zoomed in and out of sight almost as quickly as they had made themselves visible for the four year old girl to see. It wasn't long before they had pulled into a spot at the parks entrance that was made impossible to miss.

Ryan's Company Picnic was written in large black letter's that in the eyes of Kim looked like they had been branded on the very sign that held them in place. She wondered what this Mr. Ryan would be like. Would he be mean as she had envisioned rich men from her fairytale books or would he be like a kindly king standing high above his servants? She wouldn't have much longer to find out. Outside through the window she could make out the figure of a man that stood tall like a bronze statue but wore a kindly face as if it was Walt Disney himself standing outside the car.

Mr. Stoppable and James exited the car first with Mr. Stoppable lending Kimmy a helping hand in stepping onto the pavement again whilst James attended to his wife once more in exiting the vehicle. The Possible's stepped forward to greet Mr. Ryan in the best manner he knew how; by introducing themselves one by one.

James spoke first "Good afternoon Mr. Ryan this is my wife Anne and our daughter Kimberly" gesturing to each of them respectfully

Mr. Ryan took Anne's hand with grace and greeted it with a firm but gentle handshake "The pleasure is mine" and with a quick look at Kimberly he knelt down to speak to her at her own eye level "Tell me Ms. Possible, what do you think of New York?"

Not sure on how to reply she simply said "It's really swell, I've never seen building's that could touch the sky"

Ryan chuckled at this innocent remark "Watch this one James, she'll be on top of the EmpireState building if your not careful" not realizing how truthful his joke was

James and Anne smiled and told Kimmy to go and play while the grownups talked. She was about to wander off when Mr. Stoppable placed a hand on her shoulder "you see that boy over there in the orange shirt?" Kimmy nodded "That's my boy Ron he's about your age and I think you two might want to go and play together, you seem the adventurous sort and he needs a little of that"

Without another word or thought in the world Kimberly began to happily skip her way over to the blonde boy in orange shirt in dirtied jeans. "Wanna play?" Kimmy asked without hesitation

"Sure if you don't mind if Rufus joins us" Ron said smiling

"Oookaaay where is he?" she asked

"Oh he's imaginary" Ron said as quickly as he had been asked

Kimmy seemed awestruck at this and whispered "Your weird but I like you"

"Funny how the years go by don't they?" Ron quipped

Kim started out the window looking into the heart of the ocean thinking the same thing when she was brought back into reality "Yes, hard to believe its been over twelve years"

Mr. Rich walked by with another round of drinks and the serving of fries. "Well you I certainly hope you don't plan on spending New Years here do you?"

"No after this I'm taking Kimmy here somewhere special so long as Wade doesn't come up on this damned service radio again" Ron chuckled as he pointed to Kim's purse

"You know my motto call me beep me if you want to reach me" smiled Kim

"I know" said Ron as they shared a tender kiss
