So yes, FINALLY! Here it is, chapter 12.
DISCLAIMER: I don't the show, also, if you don't like it, don't read/review it!
SPENCERS POV:
Spencer Hastings was NOT used to being ignored. Yet as she stared at her cell phone screen, with the little read receipt under the last text she had sent to Toby, she felt rejected.
Nervous, she had spent most of her time in the waiting room of Dr. Roland's office re-organizing the magazines on the coffee table (by magazine publisher and then date of publication, of course) and then fending off suspicious looks from all of the other women. The room was nice, with bright walls and posh, high-end furniture, but of course that was to be expected from the doctor Spencer's parents had chosen. Dr. Alana Roland was the best OB/GYN in Philly, and Spencer's mother had wanted her to have the best of everything, so instead of being frowned upon by average women, she got to sit under the judging glares of elitists and country clubbers alike.
"Ms. Hastings, Dr. Roland will see you now. Please proceed to room 127."
As she stood up and brushed fingers through her hair, she heard murmurs of dissent such as:
"Why does she get to go first? I have been here for hours!"
OR
"So young! Look at her, all teenagers are running around and getting pregnant these days! It's a disgrace, back in my day, we would call her a SLUT!"
She blushed furtively and hurried back to the said room, while clutching her bag as if it was a security blanket.
The nurse was already waiting in the room by the time Spencer walked in, and she gave a supporting smile as she instructed Spencer to take off her clothes and don a paper gown. After doing what she was told, Spencer took the opportunity to check her phone again before the doctor came in, and was disappointed to see that there was still no reply from Toby.
The next time the door opened, a petite woman walked in. With glossy blond hair, and a heart shaped face, Spencer almost shrieked. This woman was a near carbon copy of Alison, or at least, what Alison would have looked like if she had gotten older. Dr. Roland wore a white lab coat, but underneath she was adorned with designer clothes, diamond studs, and subtle makeup, all were things Ali would have chosen as well.
"Hello Spencer, I'm Dr. Roland, how are you today?"
"Oh, I'm good, you just startled me a little, and you look like someone I used to be friends with." She rested easier once she saw Dr. Roland's kind smile, unlike Alison's, hers was genuine and soft. As the doctor prepped the machine, Spencer let her gaze wander to a poster, which told her that currently, her baby was the size of a grapefruit. Neat, and a little freaky…
"Ms. Hastings? Are you sure you want to proceed? I thought the father would be joining us." Dr. Roland interrupted her thoughts and raised an eyebrow slightly.
Oh? Does She want to judge me too? Just because the fathers not here doesn't mean I'm some kind of a slut… I'm just kind of a controlling bitch is all!
"No that's all right… I guess we can just start. He and I are having a thing."
"Mhm I understand happens a lot when your hormones start acting up. You wouldn't believe some of the things I have seen in here."
"So" The doctor said spreading cool gel across her pelvis, "It looks like it is a -"
The door swung open and Toby burst in looking frazzled,
"I'm sorry I'm late! I hope I didn't miss anything!"
She swore to god she could have kissed that boy right then and there. He may have been late, and he may have been wearing a Henley instead of the button up shirt as she had instructed, but he had an anxious look in his beautiful blue eyes that melted her to the core.
"Woah!" Dr. Roland quickly crossed the room and guided Toby to a seat.
"Just calm down son, nothing has happened yet."
She smiled slightly now and squeezed Spencer's hand as she went back to the ultrasound machine.
"Now as I was telling Ms. Hastings, it looks like your having twins! A boy and a girl! Congratulations!"
"Twins! Were having twins?" Toby look shocked and then he laughed with joy, picking Spencer up and spinning her in the air.
In her entire life, from the start until now, she didn't think she had ever felt happier than she did right then, right there in Toby's arms.
