I know, I know, I suck and you all hate me. I'm really sorry. I am. I know I said I would update in the summer and I didn't, I'm sorry. So hi everybody, and welcome to chapter 11, I honestly didn't think I would end up posting the rest of this story but I've got some inspiration to write now, and my inspiration said she needed chapter 11 and so I present you chapter 11. I'm going to stop talking now so you can read this chapter, which is also the longest chapter I've written for this, I think.
Disclaimer: Blah blah blah I don't own things yeah whatever, we know.
Quinn Fabray was not often nervous. That's one of the many things that only Rachel Berry was able to do to her. She made her nervous. Well in her defense who wouldn't be nervous when your about to tell someone you love them all the while knowing you will one day have kids with that person. A normal person would probably have a heart attack just thinking about it, but Quinn Fabray was anything but 'normal'. Which is why, whereas most would take someone on a first date to a nice restaurant and maybe a show, this blonde was taking Rachel to a clearing with a strategically placed blanket containing a basket with vegan friendly snacks, and another blanket (in case Rachel gets cold).
"Where are we going?" They had been sitting in the car for 20 minutes and Quinn wouldn't tell her anything about where they were going. She was incredibly nervous about today as she knew that by the end of today she would have to tell Quinn how she felt and she was terrified about her response. What if Quinn wasn't ready to be with her? What if Harmony was wrong and Quinn didn't have feelings for her? But she couldn't think like that. She had to be positive.
"It's a surprise Rach."
"But Quinn." The diva whined. "You know I hate surprises."
The blonde chuckled at Rachel's childish whining, she found it incredibly adorable. "Yes I know. But we're almost there and I guarantee to make it worth sitting in the car this long not knowing."
"Fine." Rachel pouted.
Quinn looked quickly over at the other girl, all she wanted to do in that moment was kiss that pout away, but she couldn't. Not yet. She needed to tell her how she felt first and there was also the fact that she was driving and if she kissed Rachel now she would probably crash and she definitely didn't want to go through that again.
Ten minutes later they had reached their destination. Rachel was skeptical about the fact they they were outdoors and wondered if Quinn was taking her on a hike or something. She would probably be horrible on a hike.
"No we are not going hiking. Do you think I would subject myself to Rachel Berry on a hike?" Quinn said, seemingly reading her mind.
"I resent that. I could hike if I wanted to."
Quinn chuckled "Please, you'd probably make it halfway and then start saying that you were going to never make it on Broadway because you were going to die, and it was all my fault. Sorry Rach, but it's true."
"I will not dignify that with a response." Rachel said and Quinn chuckled. "So if we're not hiking, then what are we doing."
The blonde smiled down at the girl and started walking. "Follow me."
Rachel followed quickly behind the blonde and gasped when she saw the picnic blanket laying in a small clearing among the trees. "Is this for us?"
"Yup. Come on." Quinn said sitting down on the blanket and pulling the basket towards her. She began taking things out of the basket and heard Rachel's breath hitch. She looked up at the beautiful girl in front of her and saw tears swimming in her eyes. "Hey, what's wrong Rae?" She said moving to hug the girl.
"Nothing you're just a really great person, you know that?"
"No I'm not. But I'm trying to be one for you."
Rachel looked into Quinn's eyes and knew she couldn't hide her feelings any longer, she had to tell Quinn and she had to tell her now. "I love you." She blurted out.
Quinn looked right into Rachel's expressive brown eyes, "I love you too."
"Really?"
"Yes." Quinn took a deep breath and started "Rachel, I have loved you since the first day of freshman year. You were walking down the hallway wearing the tackiest owl sweater I had ever seen but I thought you were the most beautiful person I had ever seen. You had this air of confidence around you and I thought that was the sexiest thing ever. But I was scared of what I felt so I lashed out and I made your life hell. And I will never forgive myself for all those stupid things I did to you." The blonde wiped a tear away from her eye and continued on. "I love you more than anything else in the world Rachel Berry."
Rachel was also crying by now. She couldn't believe that Quinn had felt like this for so long and never said anything. "I may have only recently figured it out, but Quinn I think I've loved you since then as well. I always wanted your acceptance, and I only started being interested in Finn because you had him. I thought it was because I wanted him, but it was really because I wanted him away from you. I just... I really just love you Quinn and I'm sorry it took me so long to figure it out."
Quinn pulled Rachel into a tight hug and the brunette buried her face in the crook of the blondes neck. "Don't be sorry Rach. That's my job." She chuckled lightly into Rachel's hair. "Would you like to have dinner with me?"
Rachel nodded slowly into Quinn's neck. "I would love to." She mumbled.
"Good because all this food isn't going to eat itself."
By the time they had finished eating the sun was starting to go down. Quinn placed all their leftovers back into the basket and laid down on the blanket. "Lay with me." She said to Rachel.
The shorter girl complied and cuddled into the blonde, placing her head on her shoulder. "This was really great Quinn."
Quinn was beyond happy right now. She couldn't believe that Rachel felt the same way, and she said it first! But what might be the best thing about this night was right now, her arms wrapped around Rachel and the brunettes head on her shoulder just watching the sun go down, well Quinn was doing less watching the sun set and more just watching Rachel, but this... this right here and right now was the best thing in the world. She'd cross oceans just to have this girl wrapped in her arms if she had to. "You're really great Rach." She whispered lightly.
Rachel leaned up on her elbow and looked down into Quinn's hazel eyes. "I love you, Blondie."
"I love you too, Brown Eyes." The blonde smiled up at the girl of her dreams and began leaning upward. Rachel, realizing what Quinn was doing, leaned down and met her halfway.
The moment their lips met everything else in the world melted away and they were left with only their love for each other. Fireworks bursting behind their eyes. The kiss was short but filled with passion. As they pulled away Rachel leaned her forehead against Quinn's and their eyes locked.
"Wow."
"Wow, is right." Quinn took a deep breath before continuing. "Hey, Rach?"
"Yeah?"
"Be my girlfriend?"
"I would love nothing more."
With that their lips met for a second time. This time more passionate and more wanting. Rachel swung her leg around Quinn's middle effectively straddling her girlfriend as the kiss deepened. Quinn ran her tongue along the length of Rachel's bottom lip, asking for entrance which was quickly granted to her by the brunette. They both moaned as their tongues met for the first time and sent tingles throughout their bodies. They slowly pulled out of the kiss and smiled at each other. Rachel chastely pecked Quinn's lips and climbed off of her to cuddle into her side once again.
Quinn wrapped her arm around her girlfriend and kissed the top of her head. "You know, there's all these stars out here, but yet none of them shine nearly as brightly as you do." She said gazing up at the star filled sky.
"You are very charming Quinn Fabray."
"Only for you baby." She said looking down at the brunette beauty.
Rachel looked up at the blonde and hazel met brown. "Baby, huh?"
"Was that too much? Do you not want me to call you that? Does it make me sound like Puck? Is it weird?"
"Relax Quinn. I like it. I don't mind at all."
Quinn breathed a sigh of relief, she was so scared that she had ruined something that had only just started. Then she started thinking about Abby. She should say something to Rachel about them. She deserved to know.
"Hey Rachel?"
"Hmm?"
"I have something I should probably tell you."
Rachel moved her head so that her chin was resting on Quinn's shoulder and she was looking up at her blonde. "You're not pregnant again are you?" She saw her girlfriend shake her head with a slight chuckle. "Okay. So what is it?"
"Well, um. I don't really know how to say this. Just keep an open mind, and uh hear me out. Um we, um- The other day, someone came to my dorm and she um uh. Sh-she was."
"She was our daughter." Rachel interrupted to save her girlfriend from the stuttering mess she had become.
Quinn gaped at the brunette, how could she possibly have known that? She didn't even think the girl would believe her, but here she was already knowing everything.
"Harmony came to see me." She said answering Quinn's silent question.
"Well then, since you already know what do you say we go out to breakfast tomorrow with our daughters?"
"I think that sounds like a great idea. I've been wanting to meet Abby."
"Yeah, she's great. She's beautiful, she has your eyes, you know? A smart mouth too. I can't wait to formally meet Harmony. Holy shit! I almost forgot." She said with wide eyes.
"What?"
"Santana texted me earlier and said that the girls were coming down and needed to stay in my dorm. I left my key under my mat, so they will probably be there when we get back."
"Well then we can work around that. We can tell them to go to bed and we'll talk in the morning. Then we can take them out to breakfast."
"Good plan, baby. We should probably head back, it's starting to get late."
"Okay."
They rounded up the basket and blanket and started heading to the car, their hands locked together, and Quinn's phone guiding them through the dark path. When they reached the car Quinn opened the door for Rachel and kissed her soundly as she got into the car. "I love you." She whispered against the diva's lips.
"I love you too."
The drive back to the Yale campus was fairly uneventful. The girls held hands over the gear shift as they spoke of random things like how the others from the glee club were doing, and how they were doing at school. Rachel spoke mostly of her horrible dance teacher Ms. July to which Quinn proceeded to tell her that she would gladly go up to NYADA next weekend and give the teacher her old HBIC attitude and get her to back off.
"Hey, why don't you have a roommate?" Rachel asked as they slowly walked from the car back to Quinn's dorm room, hand in hand.
"What do you mean?"
"Well you've never mentioned one, but I assume you have a second bed in your room if our daughters are sleeping there. So obviously you're supposed to have one, so why don't you?"
"She left." Quinn said nonchalantly, shrugging one shoulder.
The brunette looked at her girlfriend incredulously, "What do you mean she left?"
"I mean she left. Vanished. On the first day I met her she told me The Roommate was her favorite movie, and that Leighton Meester was her idol. This chick was weird. And when I say weird I mean Weird. After that I just kind of steered clear of her you know? Then she started asking all these questions like where am I from, who's my best friend, do I have a significant other. I just brushed it off as she was just a creepy person. Then she brought a cat to the dorm. Said she found it somewhere. I told her I wasn't getting kicked out of a dorm for a cat and she had to get rid of it. An-"
"Qui-" Rachel interrupted.
Quinn smiled at how she knew that her vegan girlfriend would have something to say about that. "I know Rach, how could I tell her to get rid of that poor defenseless creature. I know. But it had to be done. There are no animals on campus. But anyway, I told her to get rid of it. The next day it was gone. I asked her what she did with it. You know, I didn't want her to like leave it on the street or something, and she says I did what you asked, all ominous and crap. Then they call the whole dorm down to the laundry room." She pauses when she hears Rachel gasp, she must have seen the movie. "They found a cat in the dryer. It was alive though. Just sitting in the dryer. When I looked around for my roommate she wasn't there. When I got back to the room all her shit was gone too."
Rachel abruptly stopped walking and turned to her blonde counterpart. "Did any of that actually happen?"
The blonde smirked and said "Every word." before she continued walking.
Rachel and Quinn make it to the dorms after a few minutes of small talk and hand holding. Quinn takes out her key and hovers by the door, "You ready baby?"
The brunette smiles at the term and nods her head, but as her blonde goes to unlock the door she tugs on her arm forcing her to turn around. "Wha-" Quinn's question is cut off by a pair of lips on hers as Rachel pulls her in for a heated kiss.
"Mmm." Rachel lightly moans as she pulls away. "Just wanted one more before we go in."
Quinn smiles and pecks Rachel once more and unlocks the door.
Harmony and Abby had been sitting in their Mom's dormroom for over three hours watching TV and waiting for their mothers to return.
"Do you think they finally got together?" Abby asked hopefully.
Harmony put her arm around her sister's shoulders and said, "Well they did go out on a date so I would hope so. If they didn't they will be getting a serious talking to."
"I hope so too." The blonde said placing her head on her sister's shoulder.
The sisters fell into a comfortable silence watching the TV and didn't hear the door to the room opening.
"Look how cute they look, Quinn." Rachel whispered upon entering the room.
Quinn smiled and looked down at Rachel before replying, "They're our kids, of course they're cute." This earned a half hearted smack on the shoulder from the small brunette. "Hey don't damage me." She said gaining the attention of their daughters.
"Moms!" Both girls said at the same time, "How did it go?" The sisters looked at each other questioningly, since when did they talk in unison? Abby shrugged and turned away from her older sister.
"You'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear the details, because I seem to have become tired. But what you should know is that we are dating. Now go to bed." Rachel said addressing her daughters and then going into the small bathroom in the dorm to get ready for bed.
Abby turned to her blonde mother and asked, "Is that really all you're going to give us? You're dating. We went back in time and all we get to know is that you're dating! That's so unfair!"
"That's what your mom wants and what Rachel wants, Rachel gets." The older blonde said earning an eyeroll from her youngest daughter. She then turned to the older of the two, "By the way, Hello Harmony."
Harmony lifted herself off the bed and towards her Mama, hugging her tightly. "Hi, Mama." She whispered into her mother's neck. Abby, feeling left out also got up and joined their hug, gaining a chuckle from Quinn.
At this time Rachel emerged from the bathroom and watched her family from the doorway, she couldn't wait to live her life with this woman and eventually have these girls. She already loved them all so much. "Hey what is this? Hugging without me. I'm hurt." She said bringing a hand to her heart feigning offence.
Their blonde daughter immediately extracted herself from the embrace and pulled her shorter mother in tightly. "Hi Mom." She whispered smiling into Rachel's neck. She had missed her mom. When she was younger, she would always go to the brunette for a comforting hug. She really missed those hugs.
"Hi sweetie." Rachel replied feeling content with her daughter in her arms.
They all stayed like that for a few moments and everyone went their separate ways to get ready for bed. Quinn into the en-suite bathroom and the girls went to the extra bed in the dorm and settled in. "Goodnight." They said in unison, causing Abby to look at her sister weirdly, "We really need to stop doing that. It's really fu- fudging weird." She caught herself just in time, Rachel would have been furious if she cursed. Harmony just chuckled at her younger sister and climbed into bed, almost immediately falling asleep. Abby followed suit and fell into a deep sleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
Quinn left the bathroom and looked at her beautiful girlfriend in her bed. "Perfect way to end a perfect day, the most beautiful girl in the world laying in my bed. I could totally get used to this." She whispered to herself. "Me too." She heard come from the other girl, whom she thought was sleeping. "I thought you were asleep."
"Nope. I wanted to say goodnight. So come here." She said beckoning the blonde to the bed. The taller girl immediately complied and got under the covers and kissed the brunette softly.
"I love you Rachel."
"I love you too Quinn."
They kissed again and Rachel cuddled herself into Quinn's side, her head resting on the blonde's shoulder. "Goodnight beautiful." Quinn whispered lightly before placing a kiss on the brunette's forehead and sucomming to sleep herself with a light smile on her lips.
So how was that? I'm really bad with dialogue, which you can probably tell. If you've read any of the little one shot things I've written or whatever then you know I tend to stay with people's thoughts and feeling and whatever. But uh yeah that's chapter 11, hopefully the next one will come soon but I'm not making any promises this time. So yup, review, or don't, whatever floats your boat. Oh yeah and I'm really sorry again. Have a nice day/ night/ afternoon everyone. :)
