I hope this chapter is up to par. I feel that it might be a little rushed but I'm going with it. I wanted to get this up today and not any later. So, here it is. Enjoy.

Chapter 13

Brittany's POV

I ring the doorbell nervously. I don't know why I'm nervous. There's really no need to be, but a part of me just is. It's just Santana and I all weekend. Maybe that's it. The all weekend part. Sure, I've spent the day with her, but never multiple days on end. This was my idea and I'm super excited about it, but admittedly a little nervous.

I ring the bell again and stare down at my feet, waiting for the door to open. It seems like such a long time before it actually does, but it's probably only a couple of seconds. First, I see Santana's toes a few inches from mine. Then I look up and take all of her in, from her toes to the tip of her nose. She stands in the doorway in the glow of the morning sun. She's absolutely beautiful. My instincts take over, I close the distance between us and give her a kiss. Sweet and soft, like a morning kiss should be.

"Hey." I whisper and lick my lips.

"Hey." She whispers back.

"You ready to go?" I ask looking behind her to see if I can spot her bags. She must have something packed and ready to go. We will be gone til sometime on Sunday.

"Yep." Santana pulls the door open all the way to reveal her bag behind the door. She reaches back to pick it up, but I stop her before she can.

"Let me get that." I wrap my hand around her upper arm and tug her away from the bag. She nods with a shy smile. We switch positions and I take the bag in my right hand. I turn towards the door and Santana meets me with a kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you." She mumbles against my skin.

I nod dumbly. Santana caught me off guard with that one. I step out of the doorway and walk over to my truck. I set her bag with the rest of the stuff we need in the bed of the truck. Santana finishes locking up the house and I meet her at the passengers side door, holding the door opening for her so she can get in. Once she's settled, I shut the door and go over to get in my side.

I have the whole weekend loosely planned out and it should be lots of fun.

I start the truck up and put it in reverse to back out of the driveway. "Oh, wait?" Santana says and I stop everything and look over at her. She bends at the waist and digs around in her bag for something. I have no idea what. A few seconds pass before she pulls her hand out holding a CD.

"What's that?" I ask.

"Meatloaf." She says with a smile. "I thought we could listen to it on the way up."

"Oh yeah?" I ask with a tiny grin.

"Yeah, I've been listening to it. I think I know most of the words now." Santana says shyly and ducks her head in embarrassment.

I lean across the seat and kiss her on the cheek while she isn't looking. In surprise she looks up and looks at me. "What was-"

I cut her off though. "So, you like it then?"

"It's okay." I shrug noncommittally.

I roll my eyes. "Okay." I know she is teasing. I know she liked it. If she didn't she wouldn't be suggesting it right now. If she didn't like it she would probably hide the CD or burn it or something. She wouldn't give it back to me or have us listen to it on an hour long car trip.

We drove to the tip of Door County until we couldn't drive any further. I have it planned that we will catch the ferry across the strait to Washington Island.

"You know why it's called Door County?" I ask as we wait to board the ferry. Santana chews her bottom lip as she mulls over my question. She turns to look at me when she doesn't come up with anything. "French explorers named the strait between the peninsula and the island Porte des Morts. The strait is about six miles, to the west is the Bay of Green Bay and to the east is Lake Michigan. Anyway, Porte des Morts in English means Death's Door and it gave Door County its name."

"How do you know all that?" Santana looks at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Impressed?" I ask and she nods. I shrug. "I don't know. It's just something I know growing up around here."

"That's rather interesting." Santana comments.

"It is. And the water is littered with shipwrecks. Sounds like it was tricky back in the day to try and navigate through."

"Okay, ladies. You may board now." A guide removes a rope keeping us from stepping on the ferry. I mean we could have just unclipped the rope and got on, but we waited until we were told it was okay to step aboard.

"What are we gonna do today?" Santana asks from a step behind me.

I sort of want it to be a sort of surprise, but I might be too excited to keep much from Santana. "Well-" I take a spot at the rail near the front of the ferry. "-explore the island. I was thinking we could go to the museum and the lookout tower on the island. But, I didn't have a definite plan. We can do whatever."

"That sounds like fun. I'm just excited to ride the ferry and see the island. Oh, and spend the day with you." Santana bumps her shoulder into mine.

"Good." I smile at her. That sounds like a perfect day. I want so badly to drape my arm around her shoulder and hold in to my side, but I don't know if that would be okay with her.

She surprises me when I feel her fingertips bumping into mine and then her hand wrapping around my own. She smiles shyly before resting her head on my shoulder.

It takes about twenty minutes to get to the island by ferry. Once we get there and get off Santana looks around unsure of what to do.

"Brittany?"

"Yeah."

"How are we gonna get around? We left your truck on the mainland?" She scuffs her toe in the dirt, probably thinking it was a silly question to ask.

I point off into the distance. "Mopeds."

Santana eyes go wide at the idea. "Really?" I nod that yes we really are gonna cruise around the island on some sweet ass mopeds. "Awesome." She grins from ear to ear.

I laugh at her enthusiasm. "Let's go." I break out into a jog over to the moped rental place.

"Brittany, wait." Santana laughs from behind me.

I'm standing by a long row of mopeds when Santana finally catches up to me. She was really only a few seconds behind me. "What color do you want?" I ask her with a big grin.

"Mmm. Light blue." She looks to me silently asking if that's a good choice.

"Okay. I'm getting the bright orange."

I go to the front desk and tell the person which colors we want and pay for our transportation for the day. When I get back to the mopeds Santana is sitting on a light blue one pretending to rev the tiny engine. She's so cute and she doesn't see me approaching. I pull out my phone from my pocket and snap a quick picture of her on the moped. "You might need this." I hold out the key for the vehicle when I get over to where she is.

"Right." She ducks her head and blushes. So cute.

I put her helmet on her head and buckle it for her. She looks everywhere but at my face while I am doing this. But, I do the opposite. I stare at her while I accomplish the task of fastening and tightening her helmet. "All set." I slap her on the head.

"Hey." She whines.

"You have a helmet on. You're safe." I want to just bend over and kiss her but…

Santana scowls at me. "Okay. Okay. Let's get this show on the road." I put my own helmet on and start up my engine. Santana already had hers going and was waiting for me to get ready. "Ready?" I ask looking over at her on her light blue moped. She nods and we drive out of the rental place.

We rode around Washington Island all day on our mopeds. The first thing we did was drive to the Art And Nature Center on the island. There we went in and looked at all the arts and crafts that are on display and for sell. After that we drove along the road that runs parallel with the shore looking at the scenery. In my opinion Door County is one of the most spectacular, beautiful places on earth. The road took us to the Jackson Harbor Maritime Museum. We toured the museum for over an hour, looking at all the exhibits and antique artifacts from ancient sailing and shipping vessels. For lunch we stopped into a tiny little restaurant and each had a light meal. I had a ham and cheese sandwich and Santana had a salad. After lunch we rode our mopeds over to the Mountain Park Lookout Tower. That was really cool. We had to climb to the top to see the view, but it was totally worth it. The view of the area from such a height was amazing. We could see the northern and eastern shores of Washington Island. And out in the distance we saw Rock and St. Martin's Island.

"Did you have fun?"

We are on the ferry back to the peninsula. I found us a spot to sit, on a bench that is bolted down in front of the ship's wheelhouse.

"I did. Thank you for today." Santana sucks her bottom lip into her mouth.

I pat her on the knee. "The day's not over yet."

"What else do you have planned, Brittany Pierce?" She asks with a raised eyebrow.

"You'll have to wait and see." I grin smugly.

"Aren't we going camping?" Santana asks.

"Yep. But that's not all. Like I said the days not over." I grin and grin and grin. I have more in store for Santana and I just hope it's good enough.

"Okay." Santana mumbles.

We get back to the mainland and walk back to my truck and get in. I'm not sure how long the trip is to our next destination, but it can't be too long. I know how to get there, that's all that matters really.

"Ready?" I ask and look over at the passenger seat. Santana nods and rummages through her bag. "Okay." I nod and back out of the parking spot.

Twenty-three minutes later the trunk rolls past the sign that welcomes us to Ephraim, Wisconsin. This starts the next part of my plan.

"Mind if we stop here?" I ask when I see some shops coming up ahead of us. Santana mentioned in the past that she wanted to go shopping and touring some of the little towns in the northern part of the county. We don't have time to visit a lot of towns, so I thought we could start to with just one.

"Where? Here?" Santana points out the window to the side of the road. There isn't anything where we just passed. So, maybe that wasn't exactly what I meant.

"No. In Ephraim. We can go shopping."

Santana looks to me to make sure I'm not joking. When I nod she gets all excited and starts wiggling in her seat. "Oh my god. I love you."

Oh.

She stops moving, like, not even a muscle. The silence in the truck cab suddenly becomes uncomfortable.

"Uh-" I pull the truck over at the first shop that I see. "-we can start here." I park and get out of the truck and walk over to the passengers side. Santana is getting out. That's the good thing, but she won't make eye contact with me. "You wanna go in there first." I point over to a little art studio. Santana gives me no response, either verbal or nonverbal. I start walking in the direction of the studio. I look over my shoulder to see that Santana is following behind me.

After the first shop Santana still hasn't said anything to me. I don't know what to say to her either. Did she really mean what she said or was it just a slip of the tongue? Like, 'hey bro, I love you'. Or is that really how she feels? And how do I feel? Should I have said something back? Should I said anything at all?

We go from shop to shop. There are multiple jewelry shops, some clothing stores and even furniture stores. There is just about every shop or store one can imagine. Arts, and antiques, and gardening stores.

After about the third shop I can't stand the silence anymore. I'm not enjoying myself and I know Santana isn't either. She probably is worrying about what she said. She probably has so many thoughts running through her head right now.

"Santana." I break the awkward silence. "Do you wanna talk about it?"

"No. It's nothing. It was just a slip-up. I didn't mm-" She stops herself with a shake of the head and keeps walking. She walks into a furniture store. It's not one of the stores I would have guessed that we would stop at but…

I follow in after her. "It's okay." I try. "I- I-" I stutter not knowing what to say. Why is this so difficult?

Santana stops in front of me. She turns around and looks me straight in the eye. "Brittany." She holds a hand out in front of her, her palm facing me. "I didn't- let's just forget I said it. Okay?"

"Uh-okay." I stutter. I don't know what else to say.

"Okay. Now let's shop." She spins on her heels and it's back to looking at furniture that neither of us are going to buy. The furniture is just a distraction. Something to take her mind off of the time since she said those three words. I know it. I know her. This shopping thing was suppose to be fun and now it's ruined.

The mood is a little lighter, but not much, after that. We travel into every store on one side of the street then cross the street and go to every store on the other side, working our way back to the truck.

When we are in a store for kids that's the first time I'm impelled to buy something. There are little knick-knacks and toys. Stuffed animals line a whole wall. There is also a whole aisle devoted to all sorts of candies. And that's when something comes to mind.

When Santana's ready to go to the next store I tell her to go ahead and that I will catch up with her. Once she leaves I make my way over to the stuffed animal wall. There are so many to choose from. I have to make the right choice, it needs to be perfect.

After I pick an animal, I go over to the row of candies and pick out a few of my favorite candies and then pick out some others. I bring my items to the counter and pay for them before meeting up with Santana again.

She's in a little woodworking store. The whole store is full of wood things. From picture frames to tables and chairs to cravings. It's all very impressive and the store smells great. I love the smell of wood. The only way if it would be better is if it were cold outside and a wood burning stove was going. I love the smell of wood stove.

"Oh, you got something." Santana says when she spots the brown bag that I have in my left hand.

"Yep. Have you found anything you like yet?"

She wrinkles up her face in that cute confused way that she does sometimes. "Not really. I've mostly just been looking. But, if I see something that I can't live without I think I would get it."

"Okay." That seems like a good idea. There are a lot of nice things, but I don't think I would buy any of them today. Maybe in the future when I have a house and more room.

I look at my watch as we browse the store. It's getting late and we should get to the campground before it gets too late. "Do we need to be somewhere?" Santana startles me when she speaks. I wasn't paying any attention. I was just thinking about getting to the campground. She must have seen me looking at my watch.

"No. Just the campground. I just don't want to get there too late though."

"Oh. Well, we can go anytime you want." Santana says nonchalantly.

"If you want we can still shop. We still have time." It's a half truth. I don't want to cut Santana's shopping trip short, but I want to get to the campsite and set everything up.

"No. I think I've seen enough. We can go." She says with a small smile.

"Okay. But, only if you're sure."

She giggles and rolls her eyes. "Let's go." Santana grabs me by the wrist and leads me out of the store. Some of the tensions between us seems to disappear with her giggle and her touch. I feel like I can breath easy again. Once we get outside she drops my wrist, though, as we start our walk back to the truck.

The drive to the campground was only a couple of minutes cuz it's right outside of Ephraim. That was smart planning on my part. I picked a campsite in the more secluded area of the campground. More trees and less people. More of that authentic camping feel and not bunch of huge motor homes just parked in lots.

Where's the adventure in bringing your whole house with you?

The first thing I do is start a fire to get that going. Then I set up the tent and put everything in. I go back to check on the fire for cooking our supper and Santana is sitting on a log next to the fire. A poker stick in hand with two hot dogs on the end.

"Hey." I whisper as I approach her from behind. She looks up at me and gives me a full smile. "I was gonna do that after I got the tent all set up."

"Yeah, well, you've been doing everything today. The lest I could do was make supper for us." She wiggles the hot dogs on the end of the stick, a little, in emphasis.

"Thank you." I take a seat next to Santana on the log. "So, are you saying that today was good?"

She takes her attention off of the hot dogs roasting over the fire. "Yes, Britt, it was perfect. Thank you."

"Your very welcome. I had a good day too." Although a good day would be an understatement. It was perfect, like Santana said. There was only one hiccup. "I have something for you, so don't eat to much for supper. Kay?"

Santana narrows her eyes at me. I just nod at her trying to get her to agree. She does with a sly smile. "Okay."

We eat and then sit by the fire afterwards. It's a nice evening. The sun is about to set somewhere off in the distance. It's already dark in the woods, but I can still see a glow in the west. It's not too hot. Not like it has been recently. During the day it was probably in the upper seventies, that's pretty typical for this time of year. It's a good night to sit by the fire and just relax.

"How do you feel about a little snack?" I ask Santana who is sitting next to me. We moved from off the log after we ate. Now we are sitting in our lawn chairs a few feet away from the fire with the tent to our backs.

"O-kay." Santana says hesitantly. She still doesn't know what I have in store for her.

I get up from my chair and go over to the tent. Inside I find the bag that holds a special treat. I bounce back over to Santana and set the brown paper bag down in her lap. "What's this?" She asks and I sit down in my chair.

"It's for you. Open it."

Santana peels back the sides of the bag and peers inside. "Brittany, what did you-?" She reaches in and pulls out the item at the top of the bag. "You didn't have to."

"I didn't have to, no. But, I did. So, do you like it?"

She looks down at the bright light blue bear that she holds in her left hand. The stuffed bear has a bright red nose but the rest of him is bright blue. It was so cute when I it saw it in the store and it kinda reminded me of the blue moped that Santana was driving around on today. I knew I had to get the bear.

"I love it." She smiles at me. There's that l word again. This time she seems less afraid of it though. Maybe it's just the context or the circumstance.

"See what else is in the bag." I nod toward the bag in her lap. Santana peeks inside and I can see her eyes get really big.

"Brittany, this is a ton of candy."

I lean over and stick my hand in the bag. "I was hoping you might be kind enough to share some with me." I give her a wink and pull a flavored tootsie roll out.

"Sure. I can't eat all of this by myself. This is like a half a bag of candy." She looks over at me like she can't believe that I bought all of this for her.

"No one said you have to eat it all today."

"There's enough candy here to last til Halloween." She comments with a cute little giggle.

Saturday morning I get up before Santana, naturally. I start the fire up and make breakfast while I let her sleep in. I plan on wearing her out today with hiking and swimming. We stayed up late last night. The last time I checked my watch it was after eleven and we were up long after that. We talked and talked and talked. We ate candy and watched the fire until it dwindle down to nothing.

Today is a new day and I feel great. It gets even better when I am done making breakfast and I haven't seen any signs that Santana is awake. I grab the two plates and go over to the tent. It's a little difficult getting inside without making any noise, but I manage pretty well. Santana is still asleep with her stuffed animal bear next to her chest. The bear slept in between us last night.

I put the food down and then laid down on my sleeping bag next to Santana's. I'm not sure how the best way to wake her up is. I've never done this before. I don't want to scare her, so I gently rub my palm across her upper arm. She is laying on her side and at my touch she curls further into herself. I don't know how she can still be sleeping.

"Santana, I made breakfast." I whisper. She twitches a little, like she can hear me, but can't understand what I am saying. "Santana." I whisper again still rubbing up and down her arm. She starts to really wake up and her eyes blink open. They go wide before she can get a sense of her surroundings. "Mornin', how did you sleep?"

"Good." Her voice is a little deeper from lack of use from sleep. But I think it's even more sexy than her regular voice. It just makes me like her even more.

"I made breakfast." I roll over and grab the two plates and reroll back and set them in between our bodies. "Sorta like breakfast in bed." I say with a lopsided smile.

She smiles and nods. "How long have you been awake?" She asks, sounding a little guilty for sleeping in.

"Not too long. But you know me. I'm usually an early riser." I hand her a fork to eat with and we start on our meal. "I have a few ideas for today. I thought we could spend the day in the state park. We could go on a hike and go to the observation tower. In the afternoon we can go swimming or just lay around on the beach."

"God, you're so wonderful." Santana grins at me with a toothy smile.

I can't help but laugh. I'm not wonderful. I'm just trying to show Santana a good, fun time. I made a promise to show her around the area this summer and that's what I'm doing. I just know what's what and where's where. I know all the hot spots in Door County and she doesn't, that's all.

We did all the things I said we should. Hiking the trails and stopping to look out over the bluffs. That's really something amazing. There are these tall bluffs that are 180 feet tall. You go to the edge and look over and it's straight down to the beach or sometimes water below. We went up in the observation tower and looked out over the land and water too. The tower is on top of the bluff and you can see for miles. We did both activities in the morning and then we came back to the campsite for lunch.

Now I am leading Santana down to the water. There is a very nice beach in the state park for swimming. I just hope that it's not too crowded and we can find a spot on the beach to set our things.

It's pretty busy but the beach isn't packed. I find a spot and lay my towel out on the ground. Santana lays her towel next to mine. "You wanna swim first or just relax on the beach?" I ask her as I kneel on my towel straightening out the one end.

"Can we just lay here for a while and sunbathe. When we get too warm we can go for a swim." Santana lays down on her towel.

"Brilliant idea." I smirk and rearrange myself so that I am laying on my stomach. Santana is laying on her back, her stomach up to the bright July sun. I have to turn my head to the opposite side that she is because she is too much of a distraction in such minimal clothing.

Santana in a bathing suit is like a little slice of heaven. She is beautiful. Slim but with curves in all the right places. I have to lick my lips at just the thought. Looking upon her is almost too much.

I laid like that for a few minutes before I got too warm, and uncomfortable, and flipped over to lay on my back. I'm glad I brought my sunglasses with because the sun was pounded down onto my face as I laid there. Santana was still in the same position and I wanted to ask if she feel asleep.

I knew she didn't, though, because I saw her peek an eye open at me as I was turning over. I'm also glad I remember to put sunscreen on because I would be burnt already and we have even been laying here for about fifteen minutes. I probably already look really silly with my ultra tan arms and legs but pasty white torso but I can't do much about that with work and all. I can't go around shirtless everyday.

The sun is too hot and I can't sit still any longer. I sit up and look around. "Hey, Santana?"

"Hmm." I get from her in response. I look over and she is laying there like a statue. On her back now, but unmoving.

"I'm gonna go in the water. You wanna come?"

"Mmm. I think I'm gonna lay here a little longer yet. You go, I will join you in a few minutes." She lays still on her beach towel, the only part of her body moving are her lips.

I'm a little sad that she doesn't want to join me in the water, but she did say she would come in after a while. "Okay." I have to hold her to her word. I get the feeling, though, that Santana would rather lay on the beach all day sunbathing than play and swim in the water.

I glance over at her once more before getting up and going in the water. It's cold. Not freezing but still cold. At first, I just walk out up to my waist and then watch the kids that run around and splash and play around me. The kids were all having a blast.

I walked out further up to about my shoulders in the water and just sort of took it all in for a few minutes. No one else was as far out as me, but I was okay with that. I needed a moment to myself and it was nice.

After my moment I walked back in towards the shore, kids still splashing around me. It's not so much fun to splash around when you are by yourself. Actually, if I think about it, that would be really weird. A person all by themselves playing and splashing in the water.

I scan the beach for Santana and spot her in the same place that I left her. She's laying on her towel catching as much sun as she can. Her skin is already so beautiful and tan, I don't know how it can get any better. I don't know how she can lay in the heat like that. It's much warmer today than it was yesterday. I would say at least five degrees, maybe more. And the sun is out with not a cloud in the sky.

When I reached shallow water again I plopped down in the water with my back to the land so that I could watch the kids play.

I watched them and played with the sand beneath my fingers. I pulled a handful of sand up out of the water and let it slip through my fingers and fall back into the water. I did that until I feel a tap on my shoulder. I look over and see Santana standing to my right and a little behind me. I smile up at her.

"Is this spot taken?" She asks and points to the spot in the water next to me. I shake my head and she sits down in the water. The water comes up passed her belly button and she giggles a little. "Cold."

I nod. She wasn't use to the temperature before she sat down. "How was sunbathing?"

"Relaxing." She smiles. That's good to hear because I didn't really find it relaxing, so I'm glad that Santana did. She deserves to relax too. I relaxed in the water and she relaxed on the beach.

"Good." I smile back at her. Her smile is so great that it makes me smile in return. It's like it's contagious. When she smiles I have to smile too.

I feel something on my hand and look down at it to make sure it's not some water creature crawling on me. But it's not. It's Santana's fingers grazing over mine and then finding the spaces in between my own. My smile only grows. I lift my eyes back to hers and she is absolutely beaming. She's so sneaking and she's so proud of it. I squeeze my fingers around hers and hold her hand under the water for as long as we sit there.

It's probably not all that long, but it is long enough that my toes and fingers start to turn pruney.

I stand up and hold out my hand to help Santana up. She gladly takes my hand with a thank you smile and I tug her up. We walk back into the shore and towel off before making our way back to the campsite.

Tonight in our last night at the campground. Tomorrow morning we will have to pack up and go back home. I'm glad that Santana was able to get the whole weekend off and that we could spend it together. I wouldn't want to do anything else than spend the whole weekend with her.

It's dark and we just got done roasting s'mores over the fire. It's my number one rule, can't go camping without having s'mores. "What do your want to do now?" I ask Santana. She shrugs her shoulders and swings our clasped hands back and forth in between our chairs.

"We could go to bed?" I make the suggestion, but I don't know I if really want to do that. It's still very warm from the daytime heat today. I don't want to have to go to sleep in the tent underneath a sleeping bag. I made sure to open up all the mesh windows and the mesh door,so as much air could get in there as possible, but I have feeling that it will still be really warm in the tent.

"It'll be really warm though." I add as an afterthought.

"Hmm. I think I have an idea." Santana smirks devilishly and stands up. "Come on." She tugs on my hand.

"Let me just put the fire out." Safety first.

"Okay. But, meet me in the tent." I don't know if it's just me, but Santana sounded a little different when she said those words. Her voice was more- more sexy. Seductive maybe. But that can't-

I jump from my seat when she walks over to the tent. I find the bucket of water and throw it on the fire extinguishing it with a splash and hissing sound. I'm hurrying over to the tent and aren't too concerned with the fire anymore. I absolutely want to know what Santana has in mind.

I pull the mesh door flap back and peer inside. Santana is on her knees on the side of the air mattress unzipping my sleeping bag. Hers is already unzipped. "What are you doing?" I ask stepping inside the tent and close the door quickly so no mosquitoes get in.

Santana looks up quickly from what she is doing before her eyes flicker back down to her handy work. "You'll see."

I kneel down beside her and just watch. She flattens out my sleeping bag over the air mattress with the cotton side up so it sort of looks like a bed sheet. Then she lays her sleeping bag flat on top of mine so that the cotton insides of both our sleeping bags face each other. It's like a bed. She folds the top layer back a little bit and then looks over at me.

"That's so cool. Why didn't I think of that?" Santana gets some serious points for thinking of this. I wish I had come up with the idea. If we get to warm all we have to do is peel the top layer back.

"You wanna get in?" She asks me and I lose all ability to speak. Now that we aren't sleeping in separate sleeping bag that means we will be sleeping next to each other without any barriers between us.

She giggles and it pulls me from my thoughts - some innocent and some not so innocent. So sue me. Santana peels her tank top off to reveal the bikini top that she is still wearing from when we went swimming this afternoon.

We never changed out of our swimsuits. When we came back from the beach they were almost dry already and it was so hot we just left them on. And when we went to the restroom before we made s'mores tonight we threw some clothes on over our swimwear just to be modest. It just seemed too warm to have clothes on this afternoon. I didn't mind of course. Any chance to see Santana in a bikini I'll take.

She unbuttons the button on her jean shorts and pulls them slowly down her legs. It's like she's doing it on purpose. She slips into the makeshift bed and wiggles her index finger for me to join her. I happily oblige and strip from my clothes and slide in between the two layers of sleeping bag.

"You're such a dork sometimes." Santana giggles at me. I would take offense to that but it's true. She makes me do dorky things.

I'm a little surprised that it's not stifling in the tent. It's warm but not too bad. The top sleeping bag is folded back so that it just covers our legs and it's not bad.

"Come here." Santana says and lays a hand on my opposite arm. I was laying on my back staring up at the tent ceiling unsure of what to do. I roll over onto my side and now we are facing each other. Her fingertips tickle over the skin of my arm. It sends shivers through my body. Her touch is so light that I can hardly feel it, but at the same time electrifies my body.

"Britt, open your eyes." It's but a whisper. I snap my eyes open, but when did I close them? And why do I feel so weird?

My eyes bore straight into Santana's. I can see the faint smile on her lips even though I'm not looking at them. Her eyes flicker over my face but resting back on mine. Her right hand cups my cheek softly and then she kisses me. Slow and soft. It's one of the best slow kisses I've ever had.

I hum into the kiss and roll forward which forces Santana onto her back on the air mattress. Santana giggles against my lips and the vibrating rings through me to my core. My legs and arms and hands all seem to spark to life again.

I kiss her, nipping at her bottom lip with my teeth before flicking it with my tongue, then slipping my tongue into her mouth. Santana lets out a whimper and I grin in my achievement.

One hand finds purchase at her hips and the other slips up behind her ear into her hair. I straddle her hips for a second before sinking down into her. When the bare skin of our stomachs brushes together I all but jolt away from her. But, I hold firm and continue with our now rather passionate kiss.

Santana's hands work there way down my upper body and finally come to rest at my hips. She tugs me a little tighter to her and I can't help the urge to roll my hips into hers.

"Britt." Santana whines my name when I disconnect from her lips and start kissing her neck. Her hands roam up and down my back gripping and clawing. Her hips roll up into mine and it catches me off guard. "Britt, please?" Is she asking what I think she is.

This is so different from yesterday, from last night, from last week.

I stop kissing her neck and lift up to look at her face. Santana's eyes are closed and she almost looks like she's in pain.

"Santana?"

Her eyes snap open at the sound of my voice. They are wide but settle down quickly when I give her a tiny, comfortable smile. I lean forward and give her a few little pecks on the lips.

"Brittany."

I end this silent conversation. "I thought you weren't ready yet. The other day you said-" Her hand suddenly grabs around the back of my neck and she pulls me to her lips again to kiss me. Hard too. Smashing our lips together.

"Forget what I said Brittany." She gasps into my lips.

Well, okay. I grin and kiss her over and over. I'm good at multitasking, though, so along with the kisses goes a little feeling. I lift my right hand from her hip and graze my fingers over her stomach, circling her bellybutton once before heading north. I cup her left breast with my hand and can feel a very perky nipple underneath her bikini top.

Santana moans into the kiss and I know she's loving it. I rub my thumb over her nipple and she bucks her hips into mine. It's time to take this to the next level. I push myself up with my left elbow until I am kneel over Santana. She looks up at me with the darkest, most sexy eyes I've ever seen. I move around so that I am laying next to Santana instead of on top of her.

My fingers dances and tickle over Santana's stomach. She wiggles and squirms underneath my touch. I reattach my lips to the spot just below her ear. Kissing and licking and sucking at her neck and ear. I slide my hand down slowly further and further until I reach the top of her bikini bottoms.

I hesitate because just about a week ago Santana didn't want to do anything like this. I push the thought to the back of my mind and focus on the task at hand, quite literally.

I lift my lips from Santana's neck to see her face. I lock eyes with her asking silently if she is sure she wants to do this. She nods once and then grabs my face with both her hands and pulls me down for a kiss. She sucks on my tongue and my eyes roll back in my head. Santana is so good with her lips and mouth, it's unbelievable.

In Santana's eagerness I slip my hand into her swimsuit bottoms. Her whole body freezes as I move my fingers around inside the fabric. It gives me the upper hand again. I get my tongue back and kiss her on the corner of the mouth before moving my lips to her jaw and laying kisses along her jaw line.

My index finger finds that little bundle of nerves, rotating around in tight little circles. Santana's legs go a little wider in response. I grin into the next set of kisses.

It doesn't take long for Santana to come undone. When she reaches her climax I lift my head from the crook of her neck so I can watch her. With her eyes pinched shut, and her jaw clamped tight, her back arching off the air mattress she came undone. Every movement and noise and action is pure and beautiful.

I remove my hand from her bikini bottoms and kiss her sweetly on the cheek before propping my head up with the palm of my hand, my elbow digging into the air mattress. I brush some hair back away from Santana's face with my other hand as she recovers.

"You are so beautiful." I whisper to her. Santana turns her head to the side to look at me. There is a big old lazy smile on her lips. She seems calm and content. Happy maybe.

"Britt, I- you- that-"

I giggle cuz she doesn't know what to say. "Shh. I know." I boop her on the nose with my index finger. "Sleep."

She nods. "Okay. Goodnight, Britt-Britt."

"Goodnight Santana." I mumble and kiss her again on the cheek.

I wake up with Santana's arm draped over my waist, her head on my shoulder, and our legs tangled together under the top sleeping bag that we used as a blanket.

I couldn't be happier. Really. There is one thing, though, but I feel like it's not that important at this moment. Sure, it would be great to exchange those words with Santana but I'm still not sure if she is ready for that. I don't want to pressure her or push her away. I want her to always feel comfortable with me. I am willing to wait for those words. Plus, I don't feel like she needs to say it. I can feel it in the way we touch. I can see it in the way we look at each other. Either that or I'm crazy.

After we get up and have breakfast I take the tent down and Santana helps. It all goes rather quickly. Before I know it we are pulling out of the camp site in my truck and on the road back to Santana's.

I pull into the horseshoe shaped driveway of the Lopez residence and shut the truck off. I unbuckle my seatbelt and twist in the seat to face Santana. She's already unbuckled and doing the same thing. I take her left hand with my right and give it a squeeze. "I had a great time this weekend. Like really, really great." The smile on my face so huge I probably look a little crazy. Thoughts of last night and this morning swirl through my head. "I kinda wish we could spend every night together like how we spent the last two."

I can see the blush on Santana's cheeks. "Yeah, me too." She agrees, a coy smile on her lips. "I had fun this weekend. It was nice to get away from work for awhile and not have to worry about anything."

"It was a great weekend. We should talk about going back. Go to some of the other islands. Rock Island maybe one day. It could just be a day trip." I suggest cuz I know I want to go there sometime but there just wasn't enough time for it this trip. There's so much you can do in Door County in the summer that it's hard to pick and choose.

"That sounds like fun. I doubt I could get a whole weekend off again, but a day trip would be good. I really like spending time with you, Britt. Everything seems so easy and relaxing when you're around. I don't know why but it's like I can't have a bad day if you're involved." She bites her lip feeling like she may have revealed too much. She didn't. She never could. "When will we see each other again."

I sigh. That's the thing that I didn't want to have to think about. The time in between seeing Santana feels like months sometimes, even though it's only a couple of days. And I know it's on me and the hours I work, but there isn't much I can do about it.

"What time do you work tomorrow? Early or late shift?" I ask trying to think of a good solution to our problem.

"Late."

"Okay. There ya go. I'll come in and get dinner after work. We will see each other then." I smile at her and she smile but not only that, her eyes light up too. She smiles at me with her whole face. Whole body even. She leans forward and I react. I know what she wants and I'm more than willing to give it to her.

Five minutes and a great make out session later I am getting out of the truck and helping Santana with her things to the front door of her house.

We stopped for lunch on the way back and I wish I could spend the rest of the day with her, but I have things at home that need to be done before another work week. Laundry, dishes, and grocery shopping all have to be done. I didn't have any time since I lasted worked. We've been gone since early Friday morning.

"I'll see you tomorrow." I mumble at the entryway to her house. I know that if I go inside I won't come out for many hours and I really need to get some stuff done at my own home.

"Yep." Santana leans in for a kiss and I meet her half way. I pull back after with a smile. She's smiling too. "Bye, Britt-Britt." She says cutely.

"B-bye, Santana." I stutter like an idiot. It's that damn nickname she gave me. Britt-Britt. It does all sorts of things to me.

I wait at the front door until she goes inside and closes the door. After that I hang my head and walk back to my truck.
