A/N Yeah, I know, already updated this chapter last time. I'm a terrible author who keeps letting you guys down. Attempting yet again to update the story a bit, no plot changes still. Just making it cleaner. Apologies for the random variances in chapter lengths again too! Stick with me folks. It means a lot to me that any of you are still following my story updates even though its been years and I still haven't wrote the sequel! Apologies, done with excuses because I do have reasons but none of them excuse the fact that I am a terrible person for leaving you all hanging and losing inspiration!
Chapter 3
Harry and Musa stepped out of the house and discovered several people had landed outside. A large man with a gnarly looking eye stepped forward and introduced himself as Mad-Eye Moody. Musa smirked. She already liked this dude. He turned and introduced the others, when he got to a girl about Musa's actual age he introduced her as Nymphadora and she narrowed her eyes as her hair turned a furious red.
"I told you not to call me that!" Her hair changed back to normal and she turned to the two 'fifteen year-olds' with a smile.
"You two can call me Tonks." Musa grinned widely at Tonks,
"Yo! I dig the hair!" Tonks returned the grin.
"Thanks! Benefits of being a metamorphmagus! Any color, anytime!"
"Constant Vigilance!" Moody tossed a broom at Musa while she had her back turned and she immediately snatched it out of the air before she shot him a grin over her shoulder. Musa looked over and watched as Harry smiled and climbed on it. Following his lead she threw a leg over the broom imitating Harry. Everyone else climbed on their brooms and pushed off the ground, taking off at high speeds through london. Musa followed their lead and quickly shot after them. Flying with her wings was much more enjoyable but she still loved the feel of the wind on her face and through her hair.
The odd group flew through london and across a river. They flew on until they reached an old apartment building in a small neighborhood. Mad-Eye Moody pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to Harry first. I read, The Order of the Phoenix Headquarters is located at 12 Grimmauld Place. Harry's eyes went wide when suddenly another building appeared. Speechless he handed to Musa who raised her eyebrows in disbelief. Moody grunted his approval walked into the building while everyone else followed his lead. Harry, Musa, and the others entered and followed Moody down a narrow, gloomy hallway. Harry and Musa snickered as Tonks tripped over an umbrella stand made of a troll leg. The other adults all entered ignoring Tonks while the two laughed. Once they reached the end of the hall Musa and Harry spotted a scruffy faced, but handsome man with dark wavy hair.
"Sirius!" Harry's face looked like it was about to burst with happiness. He shot forward and was giving Sirius a hug when a short woman with red hair, not quite as bright as Bloom's, stepped out and shut the door behind her.
"Harry, sweetie!" The woman hugged Harry then turned to Musa. "You must be Musa! I'm Molly Weasley!" Then she stepped forward and hugged Musa who stood in Mrs. Weasley's arms frozen for a moment before hugging her back awkwardly.
"Harry honey, you'll be sharing a room with Ron and Musa you'll be rooming with Hermione. Your rooms are right up the stairs, on the left. Dinner will be ready soon but for now go say hi." Molly ushered them up the stairs then disappeared back into the kitchen with all the members of the order.
Musa and Harry started up the staircase but stopped in shock when the curtains in front of a portrait suddenly flew open.
"Mudbloods, blood traitors alike! Invading the black family manor! It's horrifying to…" Musa narrowed her eye and with a wave of her hand immediately silenced the horrible woman. Sirius, who had stepped out of the room at the wretched sound of his mother's voice stopped in surprise.
"How did you do that? I've been trying to shut the hag up since I moved back in but nothing would work!" Musa smiled sheepishly.
"I've always just had a gift with spells relating to sound…" Sirius raised an eyebrow but turned around and disappeared back into the kitchen. Harry laughed at Musa's embarrassed expression then turned and they headed up the stairs and stepped into the first room on the left. A frizzy haired blur flew across the room and smashed into harry like a bludger, only to wrap him up in a firm hug.
"Harry! I'm so glad you're alright! I heard there were dementors! How'd you escape the underaged magic trace?! You used a Patronus to get rid of it afterall, right?" Then a boy with the same hair as Molly had stepped forward and gently but firmly pulled the girl back.
"Come on Hermione give Harry some air!" She huffed but Hermione stepped back and let Ron give Harry a quick hug and a slap on the back before letting him fully enter the room. Musa stepped through the doorway as soon as Harry was out of the way and the boy took one look at her before his jaw-dropped. He stepped forward and stuck his hand out.
"I'm Ron. Ron Weasley. And you are?" Musa shook his hand before laughing out her reply.
"I'm Musa." She then looked at Hermione. "And to answer your questions from earlier, yes there were dementors, I'm the reason he's not in trouble, and no, he didn't use his patronus." Hermione frowned then looked at Musa and her outfit.
"Are you a muggle?" Musa quirked her eyebrow (she seems to be doing this a lot lately)
"What is muggle?" Hermione opened her mouth to give no doubt a word for word dictionary answer, but Harry cut her off before she could,
"A muggle is what we call non-magic folk." Musa's smile grew and she laughed.
"Definitely not. Besides how could a muggle save Harry from dementors or underage magic traces?" Hermione frowned and Musa rolled her eyes thinking this girl could smile a little more.
"You make it sound like you use magic all the time or something. And how'd you save him? You're obviously underaged as well. Besides, almost no one our age has learned the Patronus charm proficiently."
"I do use magic a lot, afterall my school allows magical use outside of class and school. Plus you said it yourself, almost no one our age." Musa answered loosely, not lying but letting Hermione come to her own conclusions. The conversation ended there as they heard Mrs. Weasley yelling up the staircase.
"Dinner Time!"
At dinner Musa sat down next to Tonks hoping to have a familiar face to chat with. Throughout dinner Tonks kept Ginny, Ron's younger sister, Hermione, and her entertained by changing her face into animal snouts. During the dinner Musa figured out that Mrs. Weasley was the mother of Ginny, the twins Fred and George, and Ron. She realized that Sirius Black was not only the owner of this house but also Harry's godfather, which explained Harry's overwhelming joy to see him.
After everyone finished eating Molly kicked all the kids out, besides Musa, ignoring the many complaints. Once everyone was out, the Order settled down and the meeting with Musa began. Sirius was the first one to speak,
"Now Musa we are glad to have you with us. We were told by Dumbledore that you were older than you looked and that you were to go undercover at Hogwarts. We know your magic is different but nothing more than that and we can't know more than that, just in case. You'll be in all Harry's classes. Please watch over him." Musa nodded and smiled,
"Don't worry Sirius. I'm more than up to the job and I'll keep Harry as safe as I can. Oh and I can't tell you more apparently but I figure I can at least tell you all that I'm 22." Sirius nodded and this time Mad-Eye Moody spoke to Musa.
"We appreciate your trust. As long as you are school you will be 15 year old Musa Horne. A transfer from the American school, Salem School for Witches and Wizards." Musa nodded and then was dismissed. Musa went up to her and Hermione's room and quietly changed into pajama shorts and t-shirt that had been left out for her by Ginny. Hermione was sitting on her respective bed with a book lying open in her lap when she finally spoke up.
"Listen, I'm sorry about earlier Musa. I've been really on edge lately with You-Know-Who back and Harry getting attacked. Sorry if I seemed rude, I really do hope we can be friends." Musa smiled and threw the covers of her bed back.
"Don't worry about Hermione. I know what it's like to snap on someone. It doesn't bother me since I use to do it all the time, took a long time to get some control over my temper. But I also don't know who you mean." Hermione's eyes shot open!
"You know! Him! Vol..Vol" Hermione lowered her voice and urgently whispered his name. "Voldemort!" Musa raised an eyebrow in confusion, Harry hadn't seemed to have a problem saying the name earlier...
"Well I obviously know his name, I was just confused as to why you didn't call him by it." Hermione's mouth dropped a bit in disbelief,
"The only person that really calls him by his name is Dumbledore!" Hermione frowned, that seemed ridiculous to call someone something like You-Know-Who all the time.
"It seems to me that fear of a name would only increase fear of the thing itself, so maybe if more people used his name then it would lose some of its power." With that Musa left Hermione to her thoughts and rolled over in bed.
"Goodnight Hermione." Hermione stared at her hands lying in her lap as she mumbled a reply.
"Night Musa."
The next day Hagrid showed up bright and early to take Musa to Diagon Alley while everyone else was packing for the school year. After Musa got fitted for her robes Hagrid told Musa that he would get the rest of her supplies while she picked out a toad, cat, or owl. Musa let out a sigh of relief since she had no idea where to get anything. Musa had picked out a large, pure black owl with silky soft feathers that she named Raintail. Then stepped outside to wait for Hagrid as a boy with platinum blonde hair walked by. The boy got about a foot past Musa where he did a double take and turned around and strutted back over Musa with such arrogant confidence in his stride that she had to snicker.
"Hello, I'm Draco Malfoy. And you are?" Musa looked at him for a second and decided to have some fun with him.
"Busy." He frowned at her before getting a determined look on his face.
"Busy sitting here like a statue?" She smirked at him before responding.
"Busy trying to keep from laughing at your hair." Draco whips his wand out and points it at her neck.
"Got a problem with my hair now?" She feigned an innocent face,
"Of course! It looks the same as it did a few seconds ago!" Draco jabbed his wand closer to her, obviously attempting to intimidate her but failing epically. Instead he ended up stumbling forward as she was no longer there but had quickly spun around to stand behind him. "Oh! I'm sorry, did you think that your scrawny pathetic wand would scare me into lying to you about your greasy ridiculous blonde hair? Sorry I might have realized that if I had actually been scared." The Malfoy boy's jaw dropped. Musa stepped forward smoothly and leaned into him close to whisper in his ear. "Next time pick an easier target." Then Musa spotted Hagrid and jogged over to him speaking excitedly about her new owl.
"Okay Musa we have one last stop. Your wand. She frowned then remembered that if she was to keep a secret she had to use a wand like everyone else. Hagrid led her to a small rundown looking shop.
"This is the only place to buy a wand from! Ollivander makes the best wands in the world!" Musa pushed the shop door open and walked in alone as Hagrid waited outside for her. After walking up to the desk a magical tape measure flew off the desk and took her measurements while a floating quill wrote them down. When the quill and measuring tape were done, a small man came out of the shelves and grabbed the paper with the measurements.
"I'm Ollivander, it's nice to make your acquaintance. Although I remember every wand I have ever sold, I do not remember either of your parents of your coming through my store." Musa stood still in confusion as Ollivander studied her for second before he quickly returned to his cheerful attitude and flitted into the shelves again. A few seconds later he returned, this time holding three boxes. "It's a pleasure to help you anyways. Here try these wands." Musa picked up a wand and awkwardly stood still staring at it.
"Well then give it a wave!" Musa waved the wand and the curtains burst into flames, Musa quickly sat the wand back down in its box. After he put the fire out he handed Musa the next box. She barely grabbed it before all the glass in the room shattered.
"Nope definitely not..." He grabbed the third box but hesitated before he could hand it to her. Instead he turned around and took the box with him back into the shelves. Once he had reached the far back of the store Musa saw him put it back and pull out an old carved box. He glanced at her then the box before bringing it out to her and opening the box revealing a pure black wand sitting snuggly in blue velvet.
"Perhaps this wand may be the one for you..." He held the box out and Musa hesitated before picking up the wand. As soon as she lifted it out of the box Musa began to glow, wind began to swirl around and her mother's old lullaby seemed to flow through the air for a few seconds before it all slowed down and stopped. Ollivander looked at her curiously.
"How interesting that that wand would choose you to be it's owner and for it to be such a strong connection. I made that wand many years ago and forgot about it until now. That is a 14 1/2 in. Ebony wand with a one of a kind core. No other wand has ever been made with a center of Siren's Hair. You, madame, are a confident young woman destined for great things..." Musa smiled at her wand. She just got it and yet she was in love with this sleek black wand.
"Thank you Ollivander. I already feel las if it's a part of me..." He smiled knowingly and waved her on.
"That wand is on me no payment necessary." Musa nodded to him and walked out tucking her wand into her boot. Hagrid grabbed her hand and apparated into the train station nearby. Musa took a shaky step back to steady herself. Hagrid turned to her and handed her a train ticket.
"You'll be boarding in five minutes on platform 9 3/4. Better hurry. Getting your wand took longer than expected and I need to get to a teachers meeting. Good luck!" Before Musa could even respond Hagrid was gone. Musa took off at a quick pace toward platforms 9 and 10 but when she got there, couldn't find a 9 3/4. After looking around awkwardly in confusion she spotted a young blonde girl with a Hogwarts uniform on heading towards her.
"Excuse me! Do you know how to get to platform 9 3/4?" The blonde girl grinned up at Musa eyes oddly unfocused and spoke up with a wispy calm voice,
"Of course, follow me!" The young girl sped up and ran towards the pillar between platforms 9 and 10. Musa watched and waited tensely for the crash but none came and the girl disappeared into the wall. Musa shrugged before following her lead. Musa jogged through the wall to find Luna patiently waiting for her on the other side.
"Thanks um..."
"Its Luna. Luna Lovegood. But most people just call me Loony." Musa frowned at the sweet girl,
"I'm Musa Horne. It's nice to meet you."
Luna nodded and spoke again, her eyes focusing for a moment as she aired her question.
"Would you like to share a car with me on the train?" Musa watched the girl who seemed to be expecting rejection before smiling and nodding at the girl. Luna perked up and grinned as she turned and walked to the back of the train and entered a car with a boy already in it with frumpy black hair.
"Hi I'm Musa!" The boy blushed as he replied,
"I..I..I'm Ne... Neville Longbottom.." Musa smiled at the nervous boy and lifted her stuff onto the overhead shelf before heading off to change into some robes the bathrooms. After a few minutes she returned to find Harry, Ron, and Hermione sitting in the car with Neville and Luna.
Hermione spoke first,"Well hello there Musa! Glad you found these two!" Ron nodded agreeing with her. "Better than that bloody git Malfoy." Musa laughed. Receiving confused looks from everyone else in the car. She stopped laughing and decided to explain. "I ran into the greasy boy when shopping. Insulted his hair and then his intimidation factor... He didn't appreciate that..." Hermione and Harry began laughing, Neville's jaw dropped, and Ron jumped out of his seat and picked her up in a hug to spin her around.
"I wish I could have seen that! Bloody git has been needing someone to knock him down a notch for a while now... I think we'll get along just fine Musa." She smiled at her new found friends and settled down for the train ride.
They played cards for a while until everyone began getting bored. Then the group started chatting about last year and about the teacher of something they called Defense against the Dark Arts. After a while she finally asked,
"What's so exciting about this professor of the Defense Against the Dark Arts class?" Everyone in the compartment looked back and forth before Hermione finally spoke up,
"Some, including us, believe the position is cursed because something always happens to the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. We have a new one every year. So we were just wondering who this one would be and what would happen to them or because of them. And whether they would be any good" Musa nodded then went back into her own little world until someone spoke to her.
"So have you been sorted yet?" Everyone looked up in surprise at Luna who had been quietly reading a copy of the Quibbler up till now." Musa scrunched up her eyebrows in confusion.
"Sorted?" This time it was Harry who spoke up.
"Yeah there are four different houses: Gryffindor, for the brave; Ravenclaw, the smart; Hufflepuff, for the loyal; and finally Slytherin for the sly or just plain rude with a dark side, in my opinion. But since we're here I'm sure you can just go with Hagrid and the first years and figure everything out with them." Musa nodded and grabbed her stuff before getting off the train with everyone else and following the small 11 year olds to Hagrid instead of the 5th years to the carriages.
Musa walked up to Hagrid and every little kid's eyes followed her. Musa shook her head with a smile, Stella would have loved all the attention...
"Hi Hagrid! Harry told me to ask you what you do about exchange students' sorting." Hagrid nodded and smiled.
"You wait outside the Great hall while all the first years get sorted. Then Dumbledore will announce that we are hosting an exchange student and say your name and you will walk in. Then you will walk up front to the stool and get sorted into your house. So go ahead and climb in a boat with some first years." Musa sat down in a rickety little row boat. There were four first years in it. One was a small skinny blonde girl with sparkling eyes. She introduced herself as Madison. The one sitting next to her was a quiet shy boy named Justin. He had brown short hair and was also pretty skinny. On the next bench was a chubbier little boy who said his name was Charlie. Next to Charlie was a fit young boy that had bright green eyes and auburn hair, he politely introduced himself as Jared. Musa introduced herself and then listened to Charlie go on and on about how excited he was for the feast. Musa shook her head and tuned him out as she stared at the school which appeared to be a sizable castle.
When the boats reached the castles a professor named Mcgonagall led the group up some stairs to the doors of the great hall. The doors slowly opened themselves and Professor Mcgonagall led the first years down the middle aisle. I stayed back as the doors shut themselves back up tightly.

Ron, Hermione, and Harry searched the first years for Musa but could not find her. Ron finally whispered to Harry.
"Where is that new chick? Shouldn't she be with the first years? She does need sorted." Harry shrugged to Ron before looking to the front of the hall. Everyone sat patiently as the hat sang its song and the students were sorted. Madison, and Jared went to Gryffindor, Charlie was a Hufflepuff, and Justin went to Ravenclaw. After all the first years were sorted Dumbledore stepped forward.
"This year we have a very special student joining us! We are hosting an exchange student. She will be a fifth year." Voices immediately began filling the hall at the thought of an exchange student.
"Will everyone please welcome Musa Horne." The enormous doors creaked as a they opened once more to let Musa in.

Musa took a deep breath as the huge doors creaked open and she calmly strode in. The hall instantly hushed at her entrance. She briskly made her way down the aisle to the sorting hat. The second she sat down on the small stool, whispers started up again with bets on which house she would be in. Professor McGonagall stepped up behind Musa and placed the hat on her head. Musa flinched when the hat spoke to her in her head.
"Well what do we have here! You're the first true fairy I've seen in centuries! Good to know you guys are still out there." Musa tensed up at the hat identifying her secret immediately. "Relax Musa, I never tell that which is in a student's mind. Now back to sorting you. You are smart but do not seek knowledge with the passion of a Ravenclaw, you are very loyal to your friends but your personality is much too independent and strong to fit in with hufflepuffs. You are quite sly but I have a feeling it would be very troubling for everyone if you were to be in Slytherin. But that bravery is incredible... Better be, Gryffindor!"
The Gryffindor table exploded into cheers while the Weasley twins jumped up and danced on the table. Musa smiled brightly as she jogged lightly down to the table. Ron, Hermione, and Harry congratulated her and scooted down to make a spot for her. Once everyone was quiet Dumbledore stepped back up to the podium.
" Now students we have a new Defense against the Dark Arts professor, Dolores Umbridge. She is a very...capable woman from the ministry. I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing her good luck. Also our caretaker, Mr. Filch, has asked me to remind you..." Before Dumbledore could finish a woman in all pink stood up. I already didn't like this woman who must be Professor Umbridge.
"Thank you Dumbledore, for those kind words of welcome, and how nice to see all your bright, happy faces smiling up at me." Musa looked around at everyone's irritated, confused and deadpan expressions across the entire hall and rolls her eyes."I'm sure we'll all be very, very good friends," Fred and George sarcastically replied "That's likely.." Ignoring them the woman in pink continued,
"The ministry has always considered the education of young witches and wizards to be of vital importance. Although each headmaster has brought something new to this historic school, progress for the sake of progress must be discouraged. Let us preserve what must be preserved, perfect what can be perfected, and prohibit practices that ought to be, prohibited." She giggled, for what must be the millionth time tonight, and took her seat again. Musa frowned as Harry and Ron asked Hermione what it meant and Hermione hesitated before replying grimly.
"It means the ministry is interfering at Hogwarts."
