"Are you sure it was okay leaving the ninja's with Jessica and Emerald?" Solaris asked getting out of the car.

Valiant didn't answer, he was carefully looking over the scene of the murder, there was something off but he couldn't put his finger on it. It was when he actually saw the body he realised what was wrong. The victim was a small blonde haired woman called Jade Harper, twenty-nine years old and a reporter for a local newspaper.

Solaris quickly caught up with him as he walked over to the scene. He hated murder scenes; while he practiced necromancy he still hated seeing scenes of death particularly violent ones. It would be a long time before he could fully hold his emotions down enough to be even as close as composed looking as Valiant or some of the other detectives he's seen were.

"So how's your true name magic coming along then?" Valiant asked.

Solaris blinked slightly caught unaware by the random question. "Pretty good, although right now I'll think I'll stick with using my usual skills. It's just a little to -"

"Wild, instinctual, yeah I understand that." Valiant nodded with a small smile. "You'll get hang of it soon enough though. I would give you a hand but I don't want you to rely too much on me for your skills. Oh I remember the days when if a person learned there true names they would basically become gods who could destroy entire worlds."

"Before you limited it right? How did you do that again?" Solaris was always curious about that. "I mean you literally but a filter on the source of magic itself. How ridiculous is that!"

"Very ridiculous, and you really wouldn't understand if I told you, mainly because I would say a bunch of random gibberish seeing as I can't remember how exactly I did it myself." Valiant told him before walking over to the first police officers on the scene.

Solaris carefully walked around the scene making sure to keep his eyes open and not disturb anything. He heard Valiant walk up to him and turned around.

"So turns out this officer rushed onto the scene after hearing some screams and found both a girl and Jade's body. Apparently the girl was taking a walk, tripped over the body and well I just told you the rest. I'm going to question the girl myself, well when I mean myself I mean you and me both."

They walked over to the shocked girl and Solaris watched as Valiant switched to what he and the others called his mothering mode. This brought memories of the first time Solaris met Valiant back in Konoha before his life changed. He quickly walked over making himself look as non-threatening as possible, which with the whiskers made him resemble a cute little fox.

Talking to the blushing girl they got nothing from her and had one of the officers take her home. They went over the scene carefully again but couldn't find anything. The only strange thing about the whole thing was that the victim had been completely drained of blood, not a single drop left.

"Have you seen something like this before?" Solaris asked.

"A few times, but not like this." Valiant paused to think "No injuries or marks of any kind and no sign of a struggle in the area, there was no magic used in the area recently as well. She was probably killed then dumped here but if that was the case why leave her in the open like that. Whoever did it left her out in the open and that isn't a good sign. It means were dealing with someone dangerous and uncaring."

"What if the person just didn't have time to bury her? They came into the forest but heard someone coming and ran for it."

Valiant sighed slightly "It's a possibility but I doubt it. Whoever did this wanted something from our victim and wanted to send a message. Maybe a revenge vampire killing but I seriously doubt it. This is going to be one of those long cases."

"Okay so are we heading back to the shop?" Solaris asked.

"You got it, to the shop and I'll make some calls find out if she had any family or friends we can interview."

"I wonder how Jessica and Emerald are doing with the ninja's." Solaris wondered out loud.

"They can handle them; Jessica's managed to handle us hasn't she? And Emerald is just as insane as we are….Yeah we should probably get back there as fast as possible." Valiant muttered.

Jessica and Emerald stared at the group now standing around in the kitchen. It was lucky Valiant always had a large kitchen just in case for large meetings or other stuff involving large groups of people. Because of that everyone could sit in the room comfortably, Jessica allowed Akamaru in on the condition he behaved, one wrong move though and the puppy was out.

"So what you're saying is Naruto -"

"Solaris," Emerald cut Kakashi off. "His name is Solaris."

"…..Right Solaris, so basically they go around solving crimes and catching criminals?" Kakashi asked.

"That's the basics of it, they're official Sanctuary detectives." Seeing the looks of confusion on their faces Jessica explained. "The Sanctuaries are our ruling government. Normally Solaris would never have been allowed to become a detective, he would have just went to school, have a normal life but with Valiant vouching for him they really couldn't say no."

"So Valiant's an important person?" Kushina asked.

Emerald snorted slightly "More than just important, the entire current system of magic was created by him. We're talking about a man who's fought and killed gods."

They heard the door open and a few seconds later Valiant and Solaris walked into the kitchen. Both of them looking deep in thought over something, Jessica recognised the look.

"So it looks like it's going to be a tough case then?"

Valiant nodded and pulled out a couple of bottles of water from the fridge tossing one to Solaris. "I've got a really bad feeling about this case, anyway we're going to interview families, friends see if anything strange or unusual has happened that they know about. Hopefully that'll get us some type of lead."

Valiant's phone rang and he left the room. Solaris just sat on the kitchen counter staring at his family not knowing what to do as they stared back. Eventually he just shook his head and turned to leave. "I'm going to practice my magic."

"Wait Solaris!" Madoka quickly stood up and everyone turned to stare at her and she hesitated slightly. "Well I was wondering if I could come and watch?"

"Sure," Solaris simply said before walking away. Madoka quickly followed and was joined by Hikari and Kushina. Emerald sighed and joined the small group leaving the kitchen. This left Jessica with the rest of the Konoha team.

"So does anyone know how to play poker?" She pulled a pack of cards out of nowhere and started to shuffle.

Swan looked over the unconscious bodies strapped to the hospital beds. All of them had tried to sneak into certain restricted areas; however they were stopped by the first layer of security knocking them out. One of the few odd things was the complete lack of magic they had. Also all of them were either wearing some weird mask or had a headband with a symbol on it. For some reason she had a feeling Valiant knew something about this.

Way out to sea a small island lay; it was in a horseshoe shape with the land a marble white in colour. Caves ran through the entire island connected to each other and leading to manmade structures and temples. It was an extraordinarily beautiful sight especially when the sun hit it at the right angle, the whole area would just glitter like some type of fairy tale. This area was known as the Spirit's Graveyard and was protected by the Sanctuaries. While it was okay to visit not many people did with the small island receiving a few dozen maybe less visitors a year. Most of those visitors coming to meditate on the magic surrounding the area to try and get a better grasp of their own.

A group of people wearing head bands that had a metal plate with a music symbol stepped off a boat onto the island.

"Let's just get this over with; I don't like the feeling of this place." The one in front of the group said.

"Coward," Another laughed before quickly walking through a giant arch into a large temple like area. "So what the hell are we looking for again?"

"Leave now."

The group of five turned to see a girl who looked around ten or so years old. She had short blonde hair and bright green eyes which were currently glaring at the group.

"Leave now, you won't find what you're looking for so just leave peacefully."

"Let's just kill the brat and get this over with." The only girl of the group said.

The girl lifted her palm and a bright flash of light erupted from it. It was over as fast as it began, when it died down the five Sound ninja were now standing completely still as stone statues which quickly started to crumble away.

The girl sighed and left to grab a broom. "I've got a feeling something big is coming, I'm going to need to see if that sensitive is still staying at the temple he'll probably know something. Worst case scenario I'll have to call Valiant."
