Chapter 2

Friendly Fights

Summer shrugged, "Why don't we let Dustin and Seth battle first? Dustin seems more eager." She turned and smiled at Seth. Seth gave an awkward-annoyed smile.

"Sure Dustin, Let's go." Seth said. Dustin smiled, and dashed over about fifty feet from Seth. He was already throwing out Kensin before Seth moved.

"Go! Kensin!" Kensin sprung out of its pokéball and landed facing Seth. Seth threw Sableye and the battle began.

Kensin started the fight by dashing in with a Scratch attack. Sableye didn't react as Kensin's paw went right through Sableye's body. Sableye grabbed Kensin by the paw, and throwing the little fox straight up into the air. Kensin began to fall, and started to regain its balance, but by that point, Sableye had prepared a Zen Headbutt, slamming into the fox Pokémon. Kensin flew back and smacked into a tree. He slowly slid down the bark as Sableye charged with another Zen Headbutt charged. With a quick command from Dustin, Kensin recovered itself and fired off an Ember at the charging Sableye. Sableye took a direct hit and was halted in its tracks. It stood still for a moment, and then after a moment, its entire body was consumed in a spontaneous flame. It was burned.

Kensin took advantage of this with another Ember. Sableye tried to dodge, but another spontaneous burn stopped it from making it, and it took another direct shot from the Ember. By this point, Sableye was barely standing, and Kensin looked barely strong enough to stand. Seth shouted to a Scratch attack, and Sableye obeyed. Kensin retaliated with one more Ember, but as he tried to fire it, Kensin tensed up and cringed. Sableye made contact with its Scratch attack, and Kensin screeched and was knocked back a few feet. It tried to stand, but it was exhausted and fainted, declaring Seth the winner. Both trainers returned their Pokémon to there pokéballs.

"Good job Kensin," Dustin spoke into the pokéball, with the sign of anger in his voice.

"Thanks Sableye," Said Seth to his.

"You… I'm going to beat you next time!" Seth yelled angrily.

"Anytime little bro," Seth replied. Justin walked over and patted his brother on the back.

"Don't worry, everyone looses at some point. But now, it's time for Summer and I to battle!" Summer shrugged, and grabbed her pokéball from her belt. James drew his, and threw out Turtwig.

As Eevee came from it's pokéball, it began to charge at Turtwig. Turtwig sidestepped, and Eevee flew right be it. Turtwig quickly turned its head and shook off a Razor Leaf. Eevee heard the leaves coming towards her, and rolled sideways. Still, a couple leaves made contact with Eevee's abdomen. It rolled over on stood up on its feet, though the damage from the Razor Leaf was still prevalent. Quickly, Eevee turned its back to Turtwig and began to kick up dirt and sand from the ground. The dust flew over to Turtwig and blinded it. As Turtwig struggled to clear off the dust, Eevee charged with a powerful Tackle attack. Eevee made contact and Turtwig flew sideways into a tree. Eevee rushed towards Turtwig with another Tackle ready, Turtwig was able to recover at the last second and jump out of the way.

Eevee slammed into the tree, and lost its momentum. Turtwig countered with a Bite attack. Eevee wasn't able to move, and Turtwig clamped onto its tail. Turtwig shook its head and threw Eevee at another tree. Eevee couldn't gain control of itself, and it slammed into the other tree. It tried to stand, but it lost consciousness and collapsed. Justin was the winner, and both returned their pokéballs.

"Thanks Turtwig! Good work."

"Don't worry about it Eevee, you did great." The two shook hands.

"So we're going now?" Dustin asked. "I can't wait to catch more Pokémon and become sooooo much stronger!"

"You're forgetting something," Said Seth. "How are you supposed to catch Pokémon without…"

"HEY EVERYONE!" Yelled a voice from town.
