PROLOGUE

While wandering aimlessly through the firmament, Q was thinking how the constant nagging from Mrs. Q plus the current full-time job of keep an eye on their son were sucking all the joy out of his life, lately he even hadn't had the time to harass a single lower life form.

Then a single planet among the myriad that fills the cosmos caught his attention. He remembered having been there a very long time ago and at the time finding it and all its native live forms very unremarkable. However now he noticed that since then, one life form had gain prominence and evolved considerably above all others, that life form now being in what he considered be the first step of ascension.

Looking more closely, Q noticed that the ascendant beings on the planet not only were taking care of their lives, but also were planning on how the lives of other lesser beings should be guided. Their way of doing things however looked very flawed because as how things were being set up, in the period of several thousand years everything would end in an endless loop. After thinking for a second, he decided that this ascended beings needed some guidance, so he presented himself to them.

"Hi there, I'm Q from the Q continuum." Q said in a cheerful tone.

The locals were understandably caught by surprise but quickly recovered and immediately inquired the newly arrived entity. "Are you a First One?"

"By your understanding I certainly am." Q stated condescendingly.

"What is your purpose here?" the locals asked.

"I'm here to give you some pointers on how to guide lower beings as clearly you are doing it wrong." Q replied.

"Who you are is of no concern to us, we are the Vorlons and we must see that the light prevails against the darkness and the circle is kept."

Q was caught completely off guard by their reply and that's saying something since as far as he could recall, only his peers from the Q continuum had managed to leave him speechless. Q then expanded his awareness and saw what the Vorlon meant, so then he said.

"I came here to help what I thought was fellow ascended beings albeit much inferior, but instead what I come across is beings that despite having evolved physically, mentally are still on the level of those that you want to guide.

You and those that call themselves shadows are nothing more than cowards that are afraid of the unknown and desire nothing more than to maintain a Status Quo that keep you comfortable. At least others that as you call themselves First Ones had the courage to go beyond the rim in order to continue to grow, both physical and mentally.

"You are not welcome here, leave." All Vorlons yield in unanimity.

"I will leave alright, but I will show you the difference between guiding lesser beings that get nothing in return for their manipulation except being cannon fodder and those that turn out stronger through the difficulties that are hurled at them." Then in a flash of light as it had appeared, Q disappeared.
