Hi again. I said I would update soon and I think this is really soon.

PS. Please don't hate me after you've read this chapter.. Just.. Don't hate me.. That's how I originally planned to end this story.. There'll be only one more chapter. I know I said there would be 3 or 4 after last chapter, but then I decided to write only 2 chapters.

Chapter 27

CPOV

A year later (June)

"Jonathan please, turn the damn air conditioner on! It's fucking hot here!" I groaned as my big brother just laughed and turned the conditioner on. "Thank you." I could breathe again. I sat back down and leaned my head against the cool window. We were going to our cottage again, like we did last year too. I was sitting at the back with Sarah, who still was dating with Jonathan. They actually just got engaged. Jonathan drove and Jace was on the front seat, beside his best friend.

Finally we got to our destination and unloaded the car. I dragged my heavy luggage to the front door and opened it with my key. I struggled to get the suitcase upstairs, Sarah following me and I showed her their bedroom. She thanked me and pulled her suitcase with her to their room. Where the hell is Jace?! I wondered.

"JACE! GET YOUR ASS HERE AND HELP ME CARRY THESE SUITCASES!" I yelled and soon Jace jogged from backyard and ran up the stairs.

"Clary, I don't know if you've noticed this, but you have only one suitcase. Not suitcases. But don't worry, I still love you!" He said and patted my head.

"And soon you don't have anything in your boxers if you don't shut the fuck up." I said.

"Whoah, whoah there! You wouldn't dare." He said whispering into my ear before biting it gently.

"Oh, watch me." I said and handed him my suitcase and went to get rest of our bags. Jace followed me after dumping my suitcase into our room. I was about to get my backpack from backseat when Jace took it for me, shut the car's door and pressed me against it. His lips were kissing my neck and his hands roaming up and down on my body.

"I love you so much. You know that, right?" He breathed into my ear.

"Yes, I know that. I love you too." I whispered back, my fingers grabbing his hair. Jace kissed my jaw line and up to my chin. Then his lips found mine and he trailed his tongue on my bottom lip. I opened my mouth and let him in.

"Okay, I think that's enough." I heard my brother saying as he shut one of the car's door.

I pulled back laughing and wiping my mouth. "Good timing man, as always." Jace said shaking his head and laughed. He placed a quick kiss on my forehead before taking his suitcase, backpack and my backpack. I shut the doors and locked the car before going inside.

Sarah decided to make us dinner and asked if I could help her while Jace and Jonathan played football on our backyard. I washed the vegetables and cut them before making the salad.

"Clary? Can I ask you something?" Sarah asked, opening the oven and putting chicken in.

"Sure." I said smiling and putting the knife down as she sat down.

"What.. What does your brother think about..." She was clearly nervous.

"About what?" I asked, looking her in the eyes.

"Kids. What Jonathan thinks about children?" Sarah asked looking down at her lap.

"Kids? Umm. I don't know. He doesn't hate kids, that much I know. He is always so sweet to our relatives' kids. Why?"

"I umm.. I'm.. Umm, I'm just trying to say that I'm.." Sarah lifted her hand on the table and I saw they were shaking.

"Are you pregnant?!" I squealed. "Oh my god, you're so pregnant!" I almost yelled.

"Shhhh! Jonathan doesn't know! Shut up!" She blushed.

"Sarah, you're pregnant, right! Oh my god I'm going to be an aunt! That's so great!" She nodded, still looking down her lap. I got up and rushed to her side and pulled her up and hugged her. I jumped up and down, excited to be an aunt.

"You said Jon doesn't know. Why haven't you told him?" I asked after calming down.

"I don't know. I didn't know how he would react. But I'll tell him soon. I promise." She said, looking out of the window to the backyard where Jonathan and Jace played, without shirts.

I sat down again, starting to slice the cucumber again.

"Sarah?" I asked after awhile. She looked at me smiling. " I'm happy for you and Jonathan." I smiled at her.

"Thank you Clary." She said before turning back to the sauce in the pot.

Half an hour later the dinner was ready and I went to get the boys. They washed their hands before sitting down. Jonathan kissed Sarah's cheek as he sat down. I smiled at them before turning my attention to Jace who was talking something about sailing. Apparently he and my brother had decided to take us sailing.

"Jonathan." Sarah said, glancing at me quickly. " I've something to tell you." She continued. My brother turned his attention to his girlfriend and smiled to her.

"Umm. Sarah? Do you want to talk alone? Jace and I can eat in the living room." I asked.

"No that's fine. You can stay here. You know already, Clary, and Jace will know aswell in a minute." She said to me. I nodded and looked at Jace, silently telling him to be quiet. He nodded and continued eating his chicken.

"What is it Sarah? Are you okay?" My brother asked. Sarah just nodded.

"Jonathan, I'm.. Umm... I'm pregnant." She said quietly. Jace's head snapped up and he looked at me eyes widened but I kept my eyes on my brother. He had dropped his fork on the table and his mouth was hanging.

"You.. You're- You're p-pregnant?" He stumbled. " Is it mine?"

"Of course it's yours you silly." Sarah said, smiling a little. Jonathan just stared.

"Please say something. Jonathan? Do you hear me?" Sarah said, grabbing Jon's hands.

Slowly a huge smile creeped onto Jonathan's face, making him look much younger.

"You're having my baby?! We're having a child! Baby that's amazing!" He yelled and jumped up, pulling Sarah with him and into his arms. I swear I saw a tear rolling down on his face before he nuzzled his face into Sarah's neck.

He pulled back and placed his hand on her stomach. He kneeled down hand kissed Sarah's belly, where the baby was starting to grow up. "Hi there. I'm your daddy and you're going to be the most spoiled kid in this world. Daddy gives you everything you want. Daddy and Mommy love you so much." He whispered to Sarah's still flat stomach. Sarah was looking down at her fiancé and tears were streaming down her face. Jonathan got up and cupped her face, kissing her gently. Then he pulled back and pressed his forehead against hers.

"I love you so much." He whispered to her.

"I love you too." She smiled.

I felt Jace taking my hand under the table and I looked at him. He was looking at me smiling and I just stared back. I tore my eyes away as my brother and Sarah sat back down, holding hands.

"Congratulations guys!" I said and smiled at them.

"Thank you Clary." Jonathan looked me in the eyes and smiled.

Next morning Jace woke me up at 8 o'clock. I groaned at tried to pull the sheets over my head but Jace threw them across the room.

"Come on Clary! Get up! We're going to sail today! Now get up before I make you." He got up and went to our bathroom, leaving the door open. I could hear him filling a glass with water. NO, he wouldn't dare! I though and opened my eyes to see Jace standing next to me, holding the glass full of icy water above my head. I bolted up and jumped from the bed.

"Okay! I'm up, I'm up! You big idiot." I muttered the last part.

"What did I hear? What was the last word?" He said, slowly making his way to me while I backed until my back pressed against the door. He still had the water-glass in his hands. Glass full of icy water.

"Uhh, nothing. I just admired how handsome you look this morning." I said quickly, smiling sweetly to him. Jace narrowed his eyes and took the last step and our bodies pressed against each other.

"That's what I thought. Now get dressed and come downstairs." He whispered to my ear before reaching behind my back and opening the door. I shook my head and went to get a quick shower. I washed my hair and body before wrapping myself into a fluffy white towel. I brushed my hair but left it hanging down, still wet. I put on my white bandeau bikini top and matching bottom. I put on my jean shorts and a loose grey top. I took my sun glasses after going down the stairs and into the kitchen where I saw everyone already eating breakfast. I sat down next to Jace and poured some juice into my glass.

"Good morning, our very own sleeping beauty." Jonathan said and threw a grape at me. I catched it and threw it in my mouth.

"Oh hello there Prince Charming." I smiled. "Ready for the day?"

"Always, my lady." Sarah and Jace laughed at our exchange.

We finished our breakfast and I helped Sarah to clean the table while Jon and Jace went to get our bags. After the kitchen was cleaned, we went to our car where the boys already were, fighting about which radio station we should listen. Sarah sat on the backseat again with me and we drove to a beach where they rented boats.

Jonathan went with Jace to rent one of them as Sarah and I just walked on the beach.

"So.. I see you two are happy. Obviously things went from good to even better, huh?" I asked smiling.

"Yeah, we're happy. I feel like finally I deserve to be happy." She smiled aswell and looked at the sea.

Four years later

CPOV

"Aunt Clary! Uncle Jace!" My three years old niece, Victoria, ran to me. I scooted her up and kissed her forehead.

"Hi Tori! How are you?" I asked as I placed her back on her feet.

She just giggled and walked away, to look for her mother, Sarah, who had went to get changed after opening the door for us. It was their anniversary and Jace and I promised to look after Victoria. Jonathan had told me he would take her to a nice restaurant and to watch ballet.

Jace went to play with Tori as I went to help Sarah get her dress on. She and my brother were having another baby in six months so she needed my help to get her tight dress on. It was light blue and it reached her knees. It was absolutely beautiful on her and it matched with her eyes. I made her sit down and started to brush her hair. She did her make up as I first curled her hair and then put it into a beautiful bun. After it was ready she thanked me and I left her to do the rest of her make up. I went to their living room, making sure I didn't step on Victoria's toys.

I flopped myself next to Jace and he wrapped his arms around me.

"I can't believe they did everything before us." He said laughing. "They got engaged and married first. They got their first baby before us." He continued.

"I know. I can't believe my brother's an adult now. He has his own family and everything. And hey you, we're engaged, don't you remember?" I said hitting his arm playfully. Victoria looked at me frowning her little eyebrows and said:

"Aunt Clary! Hitting Uncle Jace was mean! Apologize him, now!" She commanded and Jace bursted out laughing. I had to struggle to keep my laughter under control, too.

"You're right Tori, I should apologize." I said smiling to her. Then I turned my gaze to Jace's smirking face. "I am so sorry Jace." I said sweetly.

I looked at Tori and she nodded. " Now Jace, hug and kiss her." She told.

"Yeah Jace, hug and kiss me." I smirked. Jace chuckled and cupped my face bringing it closer to his. Then his lips touched mine and he kissed me. I kissed back and then pulled away. My three years old niece was looking at us.

"Is that good?" I asked her and she nodded before turning her attention back to her toys. Tori had my brothers blond hair and Sarah's light blue eyes. She was stunning with her long hair and big eyes.

"What are you playing?" I asked as I sat down next to her on the floor.

She gave me a stuffed unicorn and told me what she was playing. She told Jace to get down too and gave him an alligator. My unicorn was apparently running from Jace's alligator when Victoria's fairy came to rescue it.

Then I heard Sarah walking out of their bedroom. I looked up and saw her crying. I looked at Jace and obviously he had seen it too. I looked into his eyes and then looked at Tori. She hadn't noticed anything yet. Jace nodded and got up, lifting Victoria with him and telling her he would give her ice-cream in the kitchen. I got up too and walked to Sarah.

"Sarah? What's wrong?" I asked. Her eyes were red and her make up was smudged.

"J-Jonathan ha-has been i-in car cr-crash-h." She whispered and her knees gave up. I got her before she hit the floor and guided her to the couch.

"What?! How is he?!" I asked, lowering my voice so Victoria couldn't hear. More tears came down on Sarah's face as she buried her face in her hands.

"N-not g-good." she cried quietly. "They- they don't th-think he'll sur-survive."

My heart stopped and sank. No. No. No, no, no, no. That's not possible. I thought and my vision blurred. I blinked and tears rolled down on my cheek.

"We need to get to the hospital." I said and pulled Sarah up with me. I ran to get her shoes and helped her put them on. Then I guided her into her car before running back inside and asking Jace to get Victoria ready. I threw him Tori's jacket and shoes. He had found her hat and quickly helped her to put them on. I took Victoria's favourite teddy and gave it to her. I packed some of her and Sarah's clothes into a bag before grabbing some toys. I turned off the lights and ran with Jace, who still had Victoria in his arms, to Sarah's car and he put Tori in her car seat. I sat on the front seat while Jace sat on driver's seat and switched on the ignition. He drove us to hospital as I explained what had happened. I helped Sarah out of the car and ran inside. Jace followed us with Victoria in his arms, explaining to her what's going on so she could understand too.

"Hello, where's Jonathan Morgenstern?" I asked as a nurse passed us.

"Are you his family?" She asked.

"Yes, I'm his sister, this is her wife and daughter and this is my fiancé. So yes, we're his family. Where's he?!" I asked again, getting frustrated.

"Calm down, he's in room 501. It's on the fifth floor and the first room on your right." She said, trying to calm me down. Jace took my hand and squeezed it. I looked at him and he smiled sadly at me. My heart began to ache again and I forced my feet to the elevators. Sarah was still in shock so I took her hand and gently pulled it. She shook her head slightly and followed us. Her glassy eyes just stared forward and her hands were cold.

Finally we reached the 5th floor and we opened the door. I saw Jonathan lying on the bed, tubes attached to his arms and under his nose. He was covered with bruises and he was breathing with difficulty. That apparently broke Sarah out of her trance and she collapsed onto her knees. She began to cry again and I helped her up. She rushed to her husband's side and took his hand in hers.

"Is... Is T.. Is Tori here?" My brother breathed out and moved his eyes to me and Jace, who had Victoria still in his arms.

I opened my mouth to answer but no words came out. I bursted into tears and collapsed down on my knees too.

"Yes, she's here too." Jace said with shaking voice. Jonathan was still his best friend and this was probably killing him as much as it was killing me. Jonathan looked so weak and pale. He used to look so healthy and happy, his dark eyes sparkling. His white hair used to shine but now it looked even whiter. It didn't shine at all and his eyes didn't sparkle.

"Bring her here, Jace. Please." My brother breathed out again. Jace walked to his best friend and gave Victoria to her. Then he walked back to me and lifted me up. He guided us out of the door and I sank down again against the wall. I put my head into my hands and let the tears fall. Jace sat down beside me and sat me on his lap. I cried against his shoulder and buried my fingers in his hair. Jace rubbed my back and we just sat there quietly. After awhile The door opened and Sarah came out with Victoria.

"He wants to talk to you, Clary." She said weakly. I nodded and got up. I looked at Jace but he said:

"I'll wait here. He's your brother, he wants to see you alone." I opened my mouth to protest but he shook his head and smiled sadly. "I'll wait right here. Go."

I opened the door warily and saw him looking at me. I couldn't help but burst into tears again. I put a hand over my mouth and walked to sit on the chair next to his bed.

"Oh, Clare-bear don't cry. Please don't cry." He whispered. "It kills me to see you crying like that."

"Jonathan I love you. I love you so much. Please don't leave me. Please don't go. I can't lose you. Please don't go." I cried, taking his hand in mine. I kissed it and squeezed it with my both hands.

"I love you too Clary. I love you so much. Please look after Sarah and Tori. And the new baby. Tell him or her that I'll always love him, no matter what. Please make sure that Sarah will continue her life, taking care of our children. Learning to love again. She can't throw her life away. Please make sure that won't happen. Please." He whispered, reaching up to wipe away my tears. "And you have to keep going too. Get married. Have kids. Be happy. You deserve to be happy."

"No, please don't go. I'm not ready to live without you! I need you." I whispered. He just smiled weakly and shook his head.

"Clarissa, it's my time to go. I've lived a happy life, I've a beautiful daughter and wife who loves me. I have the best best friend I could ever ask and I have the most amazing little sister." he smiled and for a moment he looked like our father. Jace had called them and they were on their way to see their son.

"I won't let you go." I whispered to my brother who looked at me sadly.

"I know you won't." He said reaching up to my face again and pulling it weakly down. He kissed my forehead and pressed it against his. "But that's not up to you."

I just held his hand and talked with him, since it was the last time I could ever talk with my big brother. My whole body was aching and my heart was breaking.

"Can you ask Jace inside. I'd like to talk with him. Alone." He asked. I nodded and got up, kissed his forehead and ruffling gently his hair.

"Hey Clary?" He asked weakly. I nodded and he continued. "I remember that I'll always love you. I'll be there with you everyday, even if I really wasn't. Please remember that I love you. So much."

"I love you too. You're the best brother anyone could have." I said to him through my tears. He nodded and smiled.

I put a hand over my mouth again and tears were still streaming as I opened the door and walked out.

"He wants to see you, Jace. I'll wait here."

Jace nodded and hugged me tightly before going into his best friend's hospital room. I sank down on the floor and watched as a nurse pushed an old man in a wheelchair out of the room and towards the elevators. Jonathan would never get old. He would never see his children growing up, graduating and having their own children. I thought I would die, my heart ached so much.

10 minutes later Jace came out, tears in his eyes. He lifted me up and buried his face into my neck. I felt his tears on my shoulder and it was my time to comfort him. I rubbed his back and he held me close to his chest. We stayed like that until my parents came running from the elevator.

"Where is he?" My father asked as mom tried to held back her tears. I pointed Jonathan's door for them and they rushed in.

I wanted to go home. I knew I couldn't do anything, not anymore. I'd said my goodbyes and I needed to get the hell out of that hospital. I knew I would do a total breakdown if I stayed any longer.

"Jace, I need to get out of here. I want to go home." He just nodded and guided me out of the hospital. He called us taxi and we drove to Jonathan's house to get our own car.

The ride back to our house was silent. I just stared out of the window without seeing anything. I noticed that Jace was trying to get me out of the car and help me inside. He took my jacket off and gave me some water. I drank the water but the glass slipped out of my fingers and I just stared at the mess blankly. Jace guided me out of the kitchen and to our bedroom. He took off my shoes and jeans. He unbuttoned my shirt and gave me his t-shirt. I probably looked like a mess but I didn't care. I just wanted to sleep. Jace lifted the covers and helped me to get in before taking off his clothes, leaving only boxers on. He lied down beside me and wrapped his arms around me before turning all the lights off. I pressed my cheek against his chest and listened his heart beating.

I felt the tears coming again and then streaming down on my face. Jace rubbed my back and soothed me, whispering something to my ear. Eventually I calmed down again and took a deep breath.

You have to keep going too. Get married. Have kids. Be happy. You deserve to be happy. Jonathan had said to me. Life has to keep going on, no matter how hard it would be. "You deserve to be happy." And as I felt Jace on my side, it felt like life could actually keep going on. I needed Jace. I needed him like I needed air.

And as long as I had Jace by my side, I knew I could keep going on.

Hey... Please don't hate me. Please. That is how I originally planned to end this story, like I said. I know you hate me because of this and I won't blame you. But there will be the last chapter before it's officially finished! And I PROMISE it is NOT this sad. Actually it's not sad at all. Maybe at some point.

Please review. This was so hard to write. I have to admit that I cried. Though I knew what would happen, and I was writing it. I listened to I'll See You Again by Westlife while writing this and it made me cry even more. Okay, yes, I'm really sensitive, so it's not unusual for me to cry because of something like this.

But let me know what you think. Please don't hate me... :/
