A/N: Hey guys! Sorry if you didn't like the previous chapter…. I've been so distracted in school and the only time I can work on my story is really late at night. I haven't been focused. So I'm really sorry! I'll try to make it up to you guys in this chapter….

Chapter 12

(Merida's POV)

I've never had my heart beating like this before. It was like the flap of the wings of a hummingbird.

I'm so scared.

I felt a tear slide down my cheek and I swiped them away.

I WILL NOT BE WEAK.

I felt something deep in my gut growl. Adrenaline flashed across my body and I felt the sudden urge to draw blood.

No matter how much you want to survive, don't let Mordu loose, my inner Source spoke to me.

But if I don't, I'll be torn to pieces, I argued. I have to.

If you do, the werewolves AND your friends will be torn to pieces. My Source replied. Will you be willing to live the rest of your life knowing that it was your fault they died?

Her words stabbed my heart. I hated to admit it, but she was right.

I'll help you, she said. We can do it together.

I nodded and held my bow tight. I've done archery before and it's my favorite sport apart from horseback riding.

The werewolves came closer.

Count, my Source told me. Count from five and let's party.

I took a deep breath and counted with my Source.

Five…

They were coming closer.

Four….

Their teeth were bared.

Three…

I raised my bow.

Two…

"Toothless," Corwin growled. "Create a diversion!"

One.

An ear-piercing sound erupted from Toothless and a flash of blue hit the front of the werewolves. They reared back as fire rose from the ground in front of them.

Then Jack raised his staff and blue crystals shot out. The contrast of the ice and the fire created a heavy fog around the werewolves. Corwin charged and we ran to follow but Stoick held up his hand.

"In a fog made of fire and ice, only a demon can see through," he said. "We attack when he gives the signal."

We heard dogs yelp and I distinctly saw Corwin's large, red form as he wrestled. It felt like forever, but the fog was starting to lift.

What I saw scared the life out of me.

There were ten werewolves on top of Corwin, ripping him apart, skin by skin. Corwin roared and struggled to heal. Every time a werewolf ripped a red skin off of Corwin another skin would take its place. There was blood everywhere.

Stoick yelled an animalistic sound and we charged.

The werewolves looked up as Rapunzel used her Source to throw a huge boulder at them. They easily captured it and threw it back at us.

Toothless fired at the huge rock and it shattered to pieces.

The werewolves turned from Corwin to us.

Their teeth were red from his blood and one of them ran at me.

I released an arrow from my bow and it shot the werewolf right at the heart. The wolf gurgled and managed to swipe me with his huge paw. I felt my Source push through me and I withstood the swipe. Then the werewolf arched, his black eyes rolled up to his forehead until I could only see the white part. The beast dropped to the ground and Hiccup stood behind him, his fiery sword red from the beast's blood.

"Thanks," I muttered as I turned to help the others.

A huge werewolf pounced on Rapunzel and she touched his chest with her palm. He flew back and Rapunzel stood, still raising her hand. The werewolf floated ten feet off the ground and he clutched his throat. Then Rapunzel clenched her palm into a fist and I heard a crack. The werewolf's head lay limp in his shoulders as Rapunzel dropped him to the ground.

Wow.

Nobody will want to mess with my best friend.

Corwin held a werewolf by his neck and to my gory horror, thrust his hand inside the wolf's sternum and pulled out his heart. The wolf made a sound that was a mixture of a whimper, roar, and scream. Corwin's eyes were so scary I backed away from him. He looked like an animal.

Suddenly, two werewolves launched on me and held me down.

Help, I said to my Source.

Then, using my Source, I watched as my body glowed green. Using all my strength, I pushed them off of me. They fell down and I took this opportunity to take both their heads in both my hands and cracked their skulls. I felt not pity towards them. I felt like I myself was an animal.

I breathed heavily and looked at my friends. They all had this animal look about them. Jack's blue eyes turned fiery every time he used his staff to weaken the enemy. Hiccup and Toothless fought together, side by side at any wolf that jumped on them. Stoick had his huge sword out, wounding the wolves.

Blood flew everywhere; my friends' and the wolves'.

A wolf scratched me and I screamed in pain. I took an arrow from behind me and stabbed the beast in his head. I saw the arrow poke through the other side. The wolf fell down, dead.

Dizzy from the fight and exhaustion, I fell.

And darkness once again clouded my vision.

(Rapunzel's POV)

I can't believe it.

We won.

Sure, I had a few scratches on my body and even a few broken bones, but we made it.

"Merida!" I was triumphant. "We lived!"

I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw Merida lying down, motionless.

"Oh God no," I mumbled as I ran to her. "Not again."

To my absolute relief, she was alive.

"Just unconscious," Corwin appeared at my side. His shirt was gone, but he still wore his jeans. My eyes wandered to his chiseled chest and he smiled, amused.

I blushed and cleared my throat. "Where do we go next?"

Jack and Hiccup walked towards us as Stoick spoke.

"Now we give the Brothers a visit," he said.

"But how do we do that?" Jack asked. He looked like he went through a shredder. He had scratches and bruises almost everywhere in his body. But his uniform looked as good as new like the rest of ours.

"Toothless has been there with Hiccup's father," Stoick replied. "Rapunzel can take the location from his mind and transfer it to you, Jack. Then you can teleport us there."

He nodded and I looked around.

Whoa.

All ten wolves were scattered in the field, each torn to pieces. I shivered as I realized that I was responsible for most of them. Blood was sprinkled on the ground and I looked at my hands.

Yep; bloody hands.

I'm definitely a killer.

Then a thought entered me.

"How do I do it?" I asked, confused.

"I'm sure you already know," Stoick smiled then grimaced when it hurt his bruised jaw.

I nodded and touched Toothless' forehead. Images flashed through my mind as I let go and walked to Jack. He knelt so I could reach his forehead.

I touched his forehead and a zap of electricity went through me. Was it because of his touch, or the side effects of this operation? I wasn't so sure.

He nodded and I stepped away, strangely feeling cold without his touch.

"I know where it is," He said and the staff glowed blue. So did his eyes and we each looked into them.

If I were to choose in where I could drown in, it would be his eyes. They were electric blue.

It turned into darkness again.

When I opened my eyes, we were in a beach.

The soft waves of the ocean calmed me and I buried my boots in the sand.

Where were we?

I turned around to see a villa. It was the only house I saw on the beach.

It was a beautiful house, and I immediately felt at home.

Toothless nodded for us to follow him and we walked in the house.

"This can't be it," Stoick said. "It's just a human house!"

We stood at the white painted porch and Corwin knocked on the door.

It opened almost immediately and a girl stood at the other side.

A very beautiful girl.

She was tall, about my height. She wore a sundress and her brown hair was pulled back with beautiful exotic flowers. She wore simple leather sandals and her long, tan legs seemed even longer. Her golden hazel eyes were amazing. Her nose was perfect and she smiled, her red lips pulling from perfect, white teeth.

She was stunning.

I turned to see the boys mesmerized by her beauty.

"Hi," she said, her voice was like honey. "I'm Kaira. If you're looking for my brothers, they're not here yet."

"Hey I'm Jack," Jack's voice sounded high pitched and he thrust his hand forward. Kaira laughed and shook his hand. I felt jealousy hit me hard.

I stepped in between them.

"When will your brothers be here?" I asked, going straight to business.

"They should be here by-" She was cut off by what she saw in the beach. She smiled. "Now."

We all turned around.

And there stood two boys about seven years old staring expectantly at us.

"Y-you are the brothers of the Sun and Moon?" Hiccup stammered. "But you guys are like babies!"

The two blond boys looked at each other and burst out laughing.

The taller one smiled. He looked about seven and he wore a shirt and shorts.

"Yes we are the Brothers," he said. His voice sounded like it belonged to a seven-year-old but there was something mature about it. "I'm Jake."

"And I'm Xerxes!" the shorter one looked to be about five and he too was dressed like his brother. He thrust his hand at us. "Nice to meet you!"

Stoick choked and took his little hand in his big one.

"This is a joke, right?" Corwin said, his eyebrows furrowed.

"Nope!" giggled the two young boys as they ran to their sister.

"These aren't their real form," Kaira laughed. "If they really were in their real form you would have been blind by now."

"Oh." Merida said as she stared.

"Let's talk in the living room," Xerxes said, wiggling out of his sister's grasp and grabbing a candy bar from the kitchen. Jake followed and we all walked to the living room.

Once we were settled down in the plush sofas, Merida spoke.

"How do we defeat Hades?" she asked.

"Easy," Xerxes replied as he took a bit out of his candy bar. "You find the source of this evil…" he trailed off and Jake spoke.

"And destroy it." He finished.

"Then what's the Source?" Jack was impatient.

Jake laughed. "You should know that Xerxes and I can be bribed."

Xerxes nodded. "Every time you ask for something there will always be a price. It depends on how big you're asking for. In this case, a life."

I gulped.
