September 2nd 1985 A.D…
I sat on the chair for hours, or at least what I thought was a chair. It seemed quite strange for me and I felt quite scared. For the first time in my exciting life of adventure, I was scared. Not of the scientists surrounding, hooking me up to some sort of experimental device prototype, nor the many other muggles with guns and weapons. No, what really frightened me was the fact that I could no longer use my magic.
They had confiscated my wand and it appeared there was something keeping the magic at bay, I could feel it. Something was blocking me and my abilities— blocking my external self from manifesting. It was like someone had chopped off my hands and feet.
If these muggles could do this…then my own people were in trouble.
They had tied my arms and legs onto the chair, my arms strapped down on the arm rests and my feet inside some sort of metal holder on the ground, all the while wires were taped to my head and chest and wrists. There were strangely thin monitor screens above me. I had seen one before but was under the impression that they were much bigger and even that was considered a great feat by the muggles. So if I was calculating correctly, this type of technology shouldn't even be around…should it?
I was left to watch helplessly as one of them, a woman in a lab coat came to my side, examining my body. Immediately I looked to the table standing a few feet away on the other side of the dark room. On the table was a collection of my equipment: my oak wood wand; embedded with unicorn hair core and next to that was another weapon that I so treasured—a blade. It was a retractable contraption that sprang out of a metal casing which I'd wear on my left forearm.
This hidden blade was a mark of my Order— our trademark tool which identified us, it's been used by us for centuries now.
Thinking of them, my brothers, I was allowed to relax a fair bit. I had hope, hope that my skilful brotherhood would find me soon, I hoped they could. These people must be the ones they had warned me about from the beginning. Dangerous was how the Order described them. A bunch of dangerous sociopaths with a ton of money and puppets— not the sort that I should be messing around with…but for the Order, that was our one job that we had.
They were known by many names. Recently it was Abstergo; that was the business figurehead they ran with for public display. I, as well as my Order know them as the Templar Knights.
'Not long to go, now, Subject 3,' the woman told me. That's right, I now have a reference number that they call me. 'This technology will revolutionise how we see history, our own histories.' She tapped me on the shoulder. I struggled, wriggling to get her freaking hands off of me. 'We're going to make history, Three.'
I growled, 'Some things are better left to the imagination.'
The highly attractive woman just chuckled as she fitted the monitors closer to my face. 'You are so naïve my little magical friend. Trust me, you are going to want to see this.'
Sweat was running down my red hair. Please, where are you guys? I prayed, prayed for the Order to get here.
'Ma'am,' came in one of the scientists. 'I have Dr Vidic on the line for you,' he says as he hand her…a cordless phone? 'He needs an update on Subject 3's progress.'
Living abroad, I knew what a muggle communications device looked like. This seemed almost alien. Were they using magic?
Well, Muggle or Magical, English I knew and I knew they were referring to me, and Vidic sounded like a high ranking official. He would be my link to finding the Grandmaster.
'Tell, Vidic to wait up, I'll be right with him after I hook Sub Three up to the Animus.' The man nodded and then vanished out of the room. 'Ah, finally, some alone time,' Oh, god, she sounded…seductive? 'Well minus the fact that we're surrounded by my assistants.'
'What's your play Doc, why me?' I tried. 'You won't be able to get anything useful out of me, in truth I just started. I know nothing of value about the Order.'
Again she giggled. 'Have a nice nap, magician. Don't worry; I won't expose your world.' Then she moved in and…wow…she kissed me straight on the lips. When she went up she looked at me, hand running through my hair, she whispered to me. 'What I want…is much, much, more valuable.'
'What could be more powerful than magic?'
She smiled. 'You know, I find your naivety rather cute. For a time, some people believed that power was inherent through their parents and so on— and we all know that power like anything else…grows.'
'I still don't get it.'
After another moment of giggling and with another kiss to the mouth, honestly, if the circumstances were different…I would actually enjoy this, she pointed at my head. 'Several texts that I've researched refer to you by name, I want to know why.'
I gave her a lopsided grin, 'And here I thought that it was my witty charm that got me a date with a hottie.' When I saw a flash of amusement on her face, even just a microsecond, and my grin widened. 'What, I can play your game,' referring to her previous flirtatious play.
'Ma'am, the Animus is all ready to go. Just give the word.'
The woman smiled at me again, a devious one but this time I got the strange feeling it wasn't with sexual intentions. 'Put him in,' she then kissed me yet again on the lips before saying 'Sweet dreams, honey.'
With that I fell into darkness…then I saw it…in the corner of my vision, like I was watching them computers again, the words SEQUENCING…

EARTH—
4,600,060,012 BCE …
Death, the air reeked of it. My sword was drenched in blood and mud, it was a red day. I tried, tried not so hard not to look to the ground, at the still forms of my kind, both ally and enemy.
This bloody war had raged on for eighteen cycles now (nine years according to the Gregorian Calender) and still, there was no sign of an end. I look to my left flank where my brothers stood as I did, weapons drawn, slashing down the Titan incursion. I see my sisters also, fighting, roaring out the battles.
I even see the humans helping in the fight against our foes. Our goal was simple though; dispatch our father…Kronos, he was king of the Elemental Titans and a mad man. He had imprisoned me and my family in a prison of black rock and fire.
My brother, Zeus was the only one spared imprisonment. As he trained in freedom, we trained in darkness.
But he came for us and now we fight.
Poseidon had just sent word to Jupiter and Minerva, they had promised to send some Human reinforcements but I fear we will need more than just human help.
'Keep them in ranks!' I yelled to my sister Demeter. I saw her bow was breaking and soon she'd need to either return for repairs or grab a weapon from a dead comrade. 'Get…the humans…back into lines!'
Demeter nodded and swiftly ordered the organisation of her troops. We towered them— the humans, but we were few, and they were many. They were like swarms of killer hornets attacking their prey. We had reengineered them to follow us…to follow me…
Taking something out of my robes I produced a golden ball, shining, glowing in the night sky. I raised it to the heavens and roared 'Enough!' and immediately the ball's glowing intensified and they all…bowed…
Everyone, Titans and humans had ceased their fighting and now prostrated before me. I sighed in relief that the battle might be over. I chucked the orb to Zeus who followed my lead. Now it was but us who still stands. Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter and I stood atop a hill with a field of human kind and our own prostrating down before us.
For the humans, I had installed a mechanism that linked my golden orb with their minds. However for the Titans…I had embedded upon the orb their DNA. It would affect all of our kind with the exception of my brothers, sisters and I. Sadly though it only lasts a few days…enough time for us to dispose of our enemy.
'Good work, brother,' Poseidon smiled and patted my shoulder.
'Now all we need to do is find a way to contain them,' said Hera to which I smiled at her knowingly.
'Leave it to me, Hera.'

'This was an idea I came up with while in the Crucible,' I started. There was a stone ring suspended about waist high in the middle of the room. 'I noticed that the prison was comprised of the same mineral as this ring. What father failed to realise was that this mineral which I had named Naquadah, my research has found that this stone has the ability to attract and possibly manipulate massive amounts of energy.'
'Yes, and what does this have to do with the Titans?' Zeus asked. I know him only a while but already I grow tired of my younger brother's arrogance.
'I experimented and I have found a way to summon a wormhole through the ring.' I then took out the powerful orb and presented it to the ring. As soon as it touched the ground shook. 'Stand back,' I warned. They did as I asked, and then…KROOOOM!
I was surprised myself when I saw that my hypothesis was true. The empty ring exploded in a brilliant burst of energy resembling water in a way and after the explosion which pushed us all to the wall, only a sea of energy remained. It was the opening of the Event Horizon but it was so unstable. The waves were fluxing, unsettled and unpredictable with shots of raw energy that did not belong.
The truth of the matter was that I had never actually tested my theories.
'Was it supposed to do that?' Demeter asked. I shrugged but after some close examination I smiled and nodded at her.
Zeus however was still rather uncertain about it. 'What exactly is it?'
'It's a wormhole. Usually I would say it is the single most dangerous thing in the world but with my Apple,' I presented the golden orb, 'I am able to harness the energy and channel it. Surprisingly it releases the right amount to keep the mineral steady.'
Zeus was stroking his white beard, thinking hard, 'Okay, now you were telling us how all of this is relevant?' he said quite harshly.
'Were you always this stupid, brother?' I retorted. That shut him up. 'With the Apple, I can manipulate matter to such a degree that I might even be able to manipulate thought and conscience, given the incident with the human race and their power hungry chief…but I'll talk about that later. Now, if my calculations are correct, the amount of energy I used should land the portal around a Naquadah rich planet on the other side of the galaxy.'
'Wait,' interrupted Demeter. 'How do you know where the event horizon will lead?'
I simply pointed at the Apple. 'I have programmed a series of coordinates based upon the energy signature and atomic movement of stars and certain planets, all programmed into the Apple and activated upon touch.'
The room became silent. All except the humming sound of the wormhole was present. The war on the Titans had taken a toll on Hellas; the province of Earth that we inhabited. Finally, I had the solution we needed.
'Can you program a planet far away from this one?' my brother Poseidon asked.
I nodded. 'The planet I have chosen is one where Matter behaves differently. I don't know what it will do, only that our longevity will be neutralised.'
'You wish to expel them to this planet?'
'Yes, brother Zeus, I can construct more rings and open them simultaneously,'
My sister Hera then interjected a point that I had almost forgotten about. 'What about getting back?'
'The wormhole can only be entered at the point of origin. So unless the Titans have my Apple, they will be trapped.'
After some discussion, we came to a decision. Zeus came to me and smiled uncertainly. 'Very well, brother, the project will commence, but build one, one big ring, just to be safe. We cannot risk a build-up of unstable energy.'
I courtly bowed and left the room with so much excitement it was difficult to contain.

I laboured for days. Naquadah was especially rare on Earth.

STAND_BY…
I stood by my brothers and sisters as they passed judgement. Well it was not really passing judgement for there was not but one opinion present that mattered. Before us were the Titans, chained by the mineral Adamantium made chains.
My larger, more powerful ring was open, laid out on the ground. We were at Mount Olympus, the site of the once formidable fortress that housed the human people driven out of their own tribal community by the Titans. It was now our home again.
'Kronos, you have been found guilty of the mass genocide of the lizard races (Dinosaurs) and the attempted genocide of the humans. You have violated the laws that bind us together, father.' I stopped there and turned to Zeus.
Demeter approached our father with disdain and hatred in her tearful eyes. 'You took six hundred cycles of my life, made me spend them in darkness and misery—'
I saw it in her hands, a blade made of the Adamantium ore. I quickly but covertly placed one hand on her shoulder and the other on her hand armed with the dagger. 'Judge with wisdom, sister,' I consoled her, 'not with emotion.'
She let go of the dagger, placing it in my hands, I hid it as she broke down on my shoulders. All the while I stared, darkly at my father's unchanged, unremorseful eyes.
'You repel me, Kronos,' I spat.
'What, no "father?" he replied.
Then he surprised the entire room with pulling on the chains, approaching me with hostile intent. 'You think that your little brother is better than me?' he whispered to me, making sure only I heard. 'You think that Zeus will not fall corrupted by power?' I stood there petrified but made sure not to show it. 'My poor naïve son— you will be betrayed by them all—'
Before he could finish I had my Apple out, booming rays of energy shone out of it and immediately, the thirty one Titans straightened up, eyes and expressions blank. Even Kronos was unable to resist.
I had to smile. 'Now, jump into the abyss.' They followed without hesitation and one by one the Elemental Titans fell into the ring. I felt…good, but at the same time terrified. I had so much power in my hands and it felt too wild.
Then my sisters noticed something. There was a human woman walking toward the ring as well. I had to try really hard to rip my eyes away from the shining light of the golden orb, and see the blonde haired human in time. It was a stroke of luck that I was able to quickly hold her by the hand right before her feet touched the Event Horizon.
As such I dropped the Apple and she immediately fell out of the trance and into my arms. Unfortunately so too did Kronos and he charged at me.
Zeus acted swiftly and sent his sword at Kronos, then out of the sky, like it was attracted to the sword, a single stream of lightning struck the Titan and he fell into the liquid like Event Horizon.
But for me…I was somewhere else. 'Are you okay?'
The blond woman looked around confused. 'What happened?'
I sighed, but reassured her that I'd tell her later. My attentions however was put back to the gate that just shut itself down and had broken into two. Kronos and the Titans were gone and the room was quiet.
'And that is the end of the war,' Poseidon stated as he helped me up to my feet.

It was a very peaceful and slow day. Jupiter had requested I create more rings and wait for the arrival of others from among the stars. Each will have a ring on their home world, and at last, we will all be connected.
It was however a long and daunting task. Too great a burden for only one man…thus why I had requested Agyptos. I travelled across the plains of this Earth. Collecting Naquadah from the mountains, I then would construct the rings there and await the crafts from the heavens to take them. Along my travels I had made friends and now I travel with them, helping to construct my gates.
Loki, prince of the North was a bright young one. His mind was clear and intelligent, he along with Thoth of Agyptos and I had devised a mechanism that allowed for a more controlled device. I was revolutionising travel as it was. I was on to something. Upon my travels I looked into the stories the humans had of so many topics. Of the Maker, the Earth, even the sun, and that was the one I was most interested in.
All of the stories I have heard have told of the Sun's mighty rays and power. I have even met humans who took the Sun as equally powerful as the Maker themselves.
However what I have found was that all the stories had a beginning and an end. The Sun was created…and it will die.
This I was beginning to fear. Perhaps I should not put too much stock in their tales.
I stood now, looking at the equipment before me. I travelled with my companions as well as a few human servants. I was startled by a presence behind me. It was that blond woman affected by the Apple at the expulsion of the Titans.
'Forgive me, my lord, I come with refreshments, the Southerners request it.' She said.
'It is fine, I was just in deep thought,' I told her then to leave the drink on the table.
She did as I asked and then walked up to me, 'You look tired, are you okay?' she asked, her soft voice nearly inaudible. She was shy or scared, maybe of me?
'I just have too much on my mind.'
'Have you tried to meditate, you know, shut your mind out of everything for a while and let them in one idea at a time. You'll be surprised how efficiently it works.'
To say I was taken aback would be a great understatement. My race is known for our intellect, greatly surpassing others especially on this planet. But here I am being counselled by a human woman. There was no reason to take her word but I thanked her nonetheless and asked her for her name.
She smiled and I found that smile…intriguing. 'My name is Persephone.'
I smiled back. 'Okay, Persephone, you have any ideas on how to keep the ring open and able to take in more than seven people past the boundary of this galaxy?'
'Well, have you tried combining the ring with the Apple?' Another thing to get me off guard, what was she saying? 'Might I suggest a panel to harness the energy of the orb and channel it not on the surface but make the ring hollow and have the energy current flow through it,' now she had me, I was hanging on every word she spoke, 'with the energy current stabilised, the Event Horizon will become stronger and you won't have those fluxes.'
I chuckled at my own marvel of this woman. 'Where are you from exactly?'
She giggled too and nervously looked to her shoes. 'I'm from Hellas, from the South in Leuctra.'
'Tough terrain down there, a lot of mountains.'
She smiled and nodded. 'Sufferings build character.' She said wisely and I could not agree more. She was a very extraordinary human being. But what was this? Was I falling for her, a human?
'Okay, if you could leave me alone for a while, I will take your suggestion into consideration.' Then I thanked her, she bowed and then left the room. The Apple was now left with me, looking at me with a mystical aura and for the one that created the device it felt strange, like it was developing a mind of its own. It was dangerous and I think I was beginning to see it. But alas, Jupiter had me create one for every one of our race. Let us hope that they remain devices.

'AAAAAARRRGH!' I was in so much pain creeping out from my heart and to the rest of my body. My head was in disarray and I was seeing things. I found myself back in the chair, the monitors still before me. I found myself in the dark, in more ways than one. 'What the fuck was that!'
