There was a single beam of light that shone past the curtains, planting a yellowish line on the floor in front of her bed. But Lavender could not care less. She stayed in her foetal position, holding in her thin hands an object given to her a few days previous. The silver fittings adorning Ron's Deluminator glistened in her hands like diamonds.
Brown could not deny the object had very strong sentimental value to her. Nonetheless, she was holding it for someone.
She did not need magical abilities to sense the feeling of another's presence—especially the presence of one so terrifying. 'Enjoying your stay?' said the man, standing tall and proud by the door. Lavender looked up and saw two others standing on either side of the tall bold man in the business suit. Bodyguards?

'Sir, I—'
'You need not say anything right now, Brown. Not that there is anything you could say.' There was a sign of disappointment in his expression that somehow left her even more frightened.
She tried again to plead forgiveness but the man just waved her off.
'I gave you a simple task, Ms Brown,' the man started, arms crossed, stern faced. 'I gave you chances, showed you to the Chamber under the school for your race of hybrids and provided provisions—all so that your movement, your race can survive.'
'Please, sir, just let me explain—'
'The time for explanations has passed now, Brown.' He approached her, hands in his pocket, eyes piercing. 'After everything I've done for you, still manage to disappoint me—and for what? Revenge? '
Lavender looked on with distaste. 'She deserved it. She would have gotten in the way of everything had she not been given the full picture. The warning of what we could do.' She tried to defend her actions but they seemed lost on the bald man. Did he even care? 'She deserved every fucking-'
To this the bald man struck her across the face with the back of his hand. 'You are a stupid child! Your callousness and your selfish desires have cost us a great asset and endangered the entire operation!'
Lavender was trying to bite back her tears, she held her palm on her stinging cheek. 'Wait…wait, sir…' she tried. Fearing the worst she quickly took the Deluminator and presented the magical device to the seemingly omnipresent god of death before her. 'I…I…' she was trembling with fear, the words were almost being forced back inside her. Finally what she wanted to say came out even if it were in such a low frequency, 'I brought you the thing, the one you wanted.' Her croaky voice was just about audible.
The man sighed, his face softens. He took the device and turned around…he was about to walk to the door when he paused. He turns to Lavender, his stern look returns. At first Lavender is confused. Was it not what he demanded? Then she looked at his hands where the device now in twos.
'It's empty,' he says.
What he wanted was inside Ron's toy? He broke Ron's gift to her? Lavender felt her heart shatter as the Deluminator did. It was hers, her gift given to her by the person she loved. But she could not do anything…not in her state.
But then it was her employer's glare that alarmed her. But then something strange happened. The man just…walked off. 'Wait!' Lavender got off her bed. 'Wait, sir, I didn't know!'
Then, the mysterious man stopped. He motioned with but two fingers and the door opened. In came two armed men in black suits, security guards most likely. They carried with them a metal box about the size of her Hogwarts trunk; hand on each side so it must have been heavy.
'What…what is that?' Brown just had to ask. She had always been curious; her main weakness was that she also judged. Curiosity and premature judgment are a very bad combination.
The man still had his back to her, hands behind his own back, head raised in a dignified manner. 'Upon my life of travel, I have encountered any strange sights—hence one of the reasons why I was not surprised to find your world.' He approached the box, grazing a hand over the surface. It shook to his touch. 'I have made many friends, and enemies, and acquired many tools. Ms Brown…' at this point, he turned to face the witch, 'I would like to introduce to you a friend of mine. Her name is Kayako, Japanese if I'm not mistaken. She is beyond any natural capabilities to control so I keep her in this supernatural containment. It's not magical seeing as even magic is nature.' He seemed to have a creepy smile on his face, fractured, crazed, 'but it does the job quite well. Though now, she does get agitated.'
'What are you…planning to do with it?'
"Her", Ms Brown, and she is just dying to meet you…or anyone with flesh still on them.' Then the men placed the metal containment onto the ground and left the room. 'You have failed me too many times, Lavender. At first I tolerated your limitations and efforts. I convinced myself that you were a child and could learn and mature.' He looked down upon her in disgust. 'I now see you are of no help to me and thus are beyond my help.'
With that he opened the box and left a confused and terrified Lavender Brown behind. Lavender drew her attention to the open box. Shivers were running all around her body like ants. She held her hand in front as if to block something. She might as well try her luck with magic, despite feeling like her magical connection was severed.
Then something came into view from the darkness…a woman, with long jet back hair, covering most of her face. But what was visible to her was her right eye glowing red. The woman crawled out of the box growled at her then vanished.
Lavender did not know what to make of it but she knew she felt a stab of fear coursing through her. What was this magic that her master had set upon her? Then, seemingly out of nowhere, her arms were pulled back behind her. She screamed in horrible pain as it continued to stretch. 'Argh GOD!' she yelled as some invisible force took hold oh her limbs by the wrist and pull them back behind her.
She then felt herself being lifted into the air. Levitating while still screaming out in pain. She was screaming for help but knew all to well it was futile. What was happening to her?! She could not moved, something anchoring her to that spot like glue.
It continued to pull, and pull, and pull. She could feel her shoulders popping out of place and could only anticipate that they would soon snap, and it was just so painful. It was like every organ in her body was being ripped out of place. It was so very painful. She cried out in agony cursing, praying to a god she did not even believe in. Tears falling down her cheeks until finally…CRACK!
The room was locked again. The bald business man frowned down as he looked to his black shining shoes. It was cruelty, it was evil and he knew it—but it was necessary. He turned to his employees, their faces stern, uncaring. He too had trouble exercising his emotions at times. But he knew in this situation, his actions held merit. It was for the good of mankind, their survival, their right to live on this planet depended on how cruel he could be in order to make the decisions reserved for great kings and rulers. He was raised to be a leader and sometimes a leader needs to dictate, needs to rule with an iron fist…for survival even for those who refuse to save themselves.
'We are here to save Mankind…' he whispered to the air, ignoring the screaming, snapping and loud banging noises echoing, penetrating past the wooden door, even the splattering sounds of blood upon the window did not falter him, '…in every meaning of the idea.'
