Author's Note: Hey guys! ( T _ T ) It feels like so long since I've published anything. Not gonna waste any time blabbing about my stupid life. Here's a quick chappie... and yeah. I'm sure the next chapter is going to be... heh. Exciting to say the least.

Additional Note: Thanks to the readers who pointed out my mistake. ;-) I need to stop making booboos.

He had no idea where he was going. Kuroko kept his head down and got off the train as fast as he could with flaming cheeks and a pounding heart. Mostly because he didn't want to be seen by Kagami Taiga, and partly because he had gotten on a female-only train by accident, and attracted more attention to himself than he had ever received in his entire life.

I have the worst luck ever, He grumbled to himself as he paused to catch his breath before ascending the stairs out of the subway area. Kuroko stole a look behind him to make sure Kagami wasn't there. Luckily, there was no sign of a red-headed tiger prowling towards him. He let out a sigh of a relief.

Is this what a fish feels like out of water?

With his heart still pounding, Kuroko started to head towards the barbecue house. It was great to have some cool air to soothe his burning skin. He did his best to push all his worrying thoughts to the back of his head. Kuroko nodded to himself as he stared at the doors.

I should be the earlier one... so it'll be less awkward.

He poked his head into the entrance to spy for Kagami again, but there wasn't a single sign of the him.

This seemed almost too good to be true.

Kuroko headed towards the little desk at the entrance to inquire the employee about where the basketball team would be. He was directed towards a private room a little bit towards the back and as he approached the bamboo sliding doors, he heard the buzz and chatter of a large group of he slid open the door, he did not like what he saw at all. Not one bit.

"Hey! You're finally here!" Aida looked towards the door. Kuroko was once again perturbed by the fact that she noticed that he had arrived. Usually, he'd walk in unnoticed. She waved towards the sole empty seat around the long wooden table. The fans up ahead were humming and the noise of conversation made it slightly hard to hear her. Kuroko looked at where she gestured and saw that it was beside Hyuuga.

Hold on a second...If it was the last seat left... then that means that...

Kagami Taiga was sitting on the opposite side of the empty seat, looking pointedly at Kuroko. His gaze was unflinching and Kuroko tried not to let it make him nervous as he made his way over.

How the hell did he beat me here? Kuroko sighed.

"Hey Kuroko," they both greeted as he slid into the seat feeling as awkward as a shy schoolgirl on the first day of school.

He made a noise to acknowledge them before trying to disappear into his safe place. Kuroko resisted the urge to close his eyes but it failed. There was a tap on his shoulder shortly afterwards.

"Hey," a low voice whispered in his ear, "Are you ok?"

He turned his head to see a pair of intense red eyes boring into his own.

Too close!

Unconsciously, Kuroko bit his lip. The memory of their kisses suddenly sprung back into his mind. He quickly turned his head away, remembering where he was.

"Yeah, I'm okay, thanks."

This was the absolute worst. Karma must be punishing him for attempting to hire a prostitute. He grabbed the nearest drink on the table and put the can to his face. It was beer, and Kuroko immediately regretted it, but he stoically swallowed what he had put into his mouth. The bitterness felt good as a form of relief. The food began to arrive and Kuroko silently thanked their captain for ordering before hand. He was starving.

"Itadakimasu!" They all called out at different times.

Many plates of barbecue meat and a couple of cans later, Kuroko almost forgot about the person sitting to his left. Well, he completely forgot until decided to grab another can of beer.

"Hey…" A hand suddenly gripped his wrist.

"Hmm?" Kuroko hummed cheerfully as he turned to look towards the voice.

"Are you sure about drinking another one? You seem…"

"I seem what?" Kuroko said blankly, "I don't understand what you're implying."

There didn't seem to be any argument about his statement. It was too tiring to say anything more, so he was glad.

"Let me take a quick nap…" He said as he laid his head down on the nearest person's lap. For some reason he couldn't remember who was sitting beside him. All he remembered was how good they smelled, and how much he wanted to eat another plate of meat. He wondered about what had been bothering him before.

What was it again?

"Man, Kuroko is absolutely smashed," Koganei laughed.

Kagami scratched his head, staring down at the boy that was sleeping on his lap. In any other situation, he would have probably sprouted a boner by now. But this was in a room full of his teammates.

WAY too awkward, he said to himself as he calmed his body down. To make it worse, Himuro was sitting beside him, watching the entire ordeal happen. For some reason, he didn't seem too happy about it.

"He didn't even have that much," Aida teased, "although this is rather troublesome. Someone's going to have to take him home."

Hyuuga shot Kagami a strange look that made him rather worried.

What does he know?

"I think Kagami can do it, right? We're almost about done here," Hyuuga nodded. The rest of the team was preoccupied with finishing up their food and chatting, so only the members in the vicinity were listening.

"Good idea," Aida said, "give the newbie some chores to do." She grinned.

Himuro tugged on his sleeve.

"What about me?" He whispered.

He felt guilty for leaving Himuro here. But it was also his golden opportunity to make something happen with Kuroko. He had to take it, and if Himuro knew the situation, he'd definitely agree.

"Sorry, Captain's orders. I'll see you back at the dorm later, alright?"

He turned away from Kagami and nodded silently.

"Cmon, let's take him outside," Hyuuga said.

Luckily, Kagami had enough money on him to pay for both him and Kuroko. He didn't feel comfortable with searching through Kuroko's pants for his wallet. Plus, he did not want to be taking Kuroko's money. That just brought up strange thoughts.

Hyuuga called a cab to save Kagami from the public humiliation of carrying a sleeping body in his hands all the way back to campus.

"Here's his dorm room," Hyuuga typed onto a note document in Kagami's phone, "and his keys should be in his pockets… I'm guessing."

"Thanks," Kagami said. He felt a bit awkward discussing this with his captain for some reason. The way he was handling everything seemed a bit strange to Kagami.

The cab arrived, and Hyuuga helped him open the door. Feeling uncomfortable under his watch again, Kagami picked Kuroko up and eased him into the back of the car. This was going to be a long ride back.

P.S. I am so surprised at how many follows this fic has racked up.
