Coven Fairy
"Come on, come on, where is it? Why can't I find it?" A Latina girl with brown hair, wearing a short sleeved kitty hoodie questioned looking through the garbage.
This is Luz Noceda, a spunky girl, who's on her way to Fun Nazi reformation camp. Before her mom left for work, she'd thrown out her, Good Witch Azura book, to convince her mother that she would take the reformation camp seriously, but as soon as she left, Luz was digging for the book, but couldn't find it even though it was right on top of the pile.
"Hoot-hoot."
Luz looked up to see a small brown owl, holding a bag in its beak, with the book she was looking for, clear as day in the bag before it began hopping away.
"Huh, tiny trash thief." Luz gasped, chasing after the owl into the woods behind her house.
Following the surprisingly fast little owl, Luz paused when she saw she was following it to a creepy abandoned looking house.
"Whoa." Luz said, before noticing the owl going inside. "Hey, get back here." She called out, chasing after it. Passing through the door, Luz wasn't aware of what was happening as it closed behind her. "Stop adorably hopping… away you…"
Luz stopped when she saw that the area she'd ran into, was filled with all sorts of different items. There was even a fridge.
"Whoa, I thought I had a lot of weird stuff, but this…" She paused to pick up a coat hanger connected to a baby doll head, missing an eye, with the body of a rat, the right arm of a lizard, and the left arm was a fork. "This is impressive."
"Finally you made it back." A woman's voice said, spooking Luz as she dropped the doll, missing how it was reaching out to her. "Now let's see what you brought."
Heading for the opening of the tent, Luz peeked outside to see a grey haired woman in a torn dress, with multiple shades of red, wearing a green bandanna over her head.
"Alright, let's see what you brought mama." She said, reaching into the bag and pulling out, an I-Pad. "Trash." A Diamond Ring. "Garbage." The Holy Grail. "Junk." She tossed them all into the same bag. "Aha, here we go." She said, reaching into the bag, and putting on a pair of spring gag glasses. "These are gonna make me rich." She smiled, before reaching into the bag and pulling out Luz's book. "While this, can make for some good kindling."
Luz gasped as the woman held the book over a lit candle, and acted without thinking.
"Sorry, that's mine. Gotta go." She said, quickly snatching the book back, and running for the door she came through. But before she could go through it, the door closed and folded up into a brief case.
"Not so fast." The woman said, with Luz turning to her in fear.
Luz turned back to the wall of the tent as she put her book back in her bag and went under the material, running for the forest, before she stopped as she reached a ledge, and gasped when she saw a magical world filled with different monsters, demons, and other oddities.
"Oh my gosh. Where am I?" Luz questioned, before a tiny pink creature flew next to her. "Oh, hello little fairy, are you here to tell me this is all some sort of mystical, fantasy dream?"
"Give me your skin." The fairy said, showing its large and sharp teeth.
"GAH." Luz cried out, smacking the fairy to the ground. "Oh how did this happen. Did I die? Am I in, the bad place?"
"You wish." The woman said, grabbing Luz by the shoulder.
After dragging Luz back, the woman just looked at her as she tossed Luz on a stool.
"I'm so sorry, I just wanted my book. If you're gonna eat my skin, just make it quick, just do it now." Luz said holding up her arm.
"Eat you? Why would I want to eat, a potential customer." The woman said, showing the sign of her work. "Can I offer you a human foot filled with holes? A bar of green human candy, oh how about this black shadow box, that reflect only sadness." She pitched, holding up a crock, a bar of deodorant, and a mini portable television.
"That's not all it can do." Luz said, hopping down from the stool and taking the television. "Here, let me see it."
Grabbing some batteries in a tin labeled, human candy, Luz put them in the television and turned it on, revealing there was an 80's workout special on the, probably, only channel. The sound and visuals of the box began to draw in a crowd.
"I'll pay you 40 snails for the screaming box."
"I'll give you 100."
"Can I eat the tiny person inside?"
"What did you say your name was?" The woman questioned, looking to Luz.
"I'm Luz, Luz Noceda." She said.
"Well Luz, that was pretty clever… for a human."
"That's kind of a weird thing, for another human to say."
"Oh, dear child, I'm not like you." She said, pulling off her bandanna, revealing her pointed ears. "I'm Eda, the Owl Lady. The most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles."
"A witch?" Luz questioned.
"I am a respected, feared…"
"Busted." Someone said, destroying the television.
"Run it's a guard." One of the customers said, while the others ran.
"Eda the Owl Lady, you are wanted for misuse of magic, and demonic misdemeanors." The guard said, holding up her wanted poster.
"Whoa, Witch Criminal." Luz said.
"You are hereby ordered to come with me to the Conformatorium." The guard said, grabbing Eda's arm.
"Would you guys quit following me around? I haven't done squat."
"An' you're coming to." The guard said, grabbing Luz by her hood. "For fraternizing with a criminal."
"She has nothing to do with this, she literally just met me five minutes ago." Eda stated.
"Does that mean I have to come to?"
Eda looked behind the guard, with a brow raised, as the guard turned around, to see a young girl around Luz's age, with pointed ears, scarlet red hair, and golden blonde streaks down the sides, a form fitting hooded tankini top, poorly laced at the front, showing off plenty of cleavage all the way down, with some underboob showing, with a short skirt over a pair of red rose themed black leggings, leaving her midriff bare, revealing the belly button piercing, with hand crafted leather combat heels on her feet, and a satchel over her left shoulder on her right hip, looking like it belonged to a scholar of some sort.
"If you've been fraternizing with Eda the Owl Lady, then yes."
"Oh, I'd say my connection to her is more personal then that." The girl smiled, revealing a gold tooth where her right upper canine should have been, just like Eda's.
The guard was confused, but his eyes bugged out, and he let go of Luz, as the girl punched him in the gut. The punch felt like a bag of bricks that had been shot at him from a cannon.
"Run." The girl said, grabbing Luz.
Almost instantly, Eda grabbed all her things with her magic, and using her magic staff, with the cute owl as the head, flew along the ground after the two girls.
"Hop on." Eda said.
The young girl still holding Luz, hopped onto the staff, and they flew through the air, while the Guard was trying to catch his breath and pick himself up.
"Thanks for the save there kid. Who are you?" Eda questioned.
"I'm… not anyone special." She said. "Call me Kali. I'm a friend." She stated, lowering the right side of her top, showing an emblem, highly resembling a fairy with a tail, in red tattooed on her upper pectoral, outlined in gold.
"Well, that's an emblem I haven't seen in years." Eda smiled. "How's Makarov doing?"
"Master's doing good." Kali said, sitting Luz down on Eda's staff. "He does wish you never left though. Keeps on reminiscing about how his life's felt empty since you vanished."
"You can open your eyes now human." Eda said.
Luz slowly opened her eyes, and gasped when she saw what she was looking at. The beauty around her looked so majestic, and lifelike. There were creatures she'd never even heard of before, and there were also many she'd fantasized about meeting, her entire life.
"Whoa. Everything's so beautiful." Luz said, before realizing something. "Flying staffs, crazy monsters, you're both witches. What is this place?"
"Welcome to the Boiling Isles kid." Eda smirked.
"I know, it can be a lot to take in at once." Kali stated with a smile
"Every single myth that you humans have, is caused by a little bit of our world, leaking out into yours." Eda stated, as a griffin came up and was flying next to them.
"A griffon." Luz gasped, before the griffin opened its mouth, and spewed out hundreds, if not thousands of spiders. "I knew it."
"Yep, there's everything. Griffons, vampires, giraffes." Eda listed off.
"Giraffes?" Luz questioned.
"Oh yeah, we banished those guys eons ago." Eda said, as they began to make their landing. "Bunch of freaks." She stated, hopping off her staff.
"Uh, Eda." Eda said, pointing to her staff, sounding a little creeped out.
Luz looked to the staff, and cried out in shock, falling off of Ember, when she saw Eda's disembodied hand still holding onto it.
"Oops, that happens sometimes." Eda said, reattaching her hand.
"Welp, I've had enough adventure for today." Luz said.
"You sure kid?" Yang asked.
"Yep. This is obviously not the PG fantasy world I've always dreamed about." Luz said. "So, can either of you help me get back home?"
"You mean to the human realm, right?" Kali asked. "Sorry, but my portal only allows me to travel to and from my world, Earthland. Eda could use her portal door to help you though. So it's doable."
"Hold on, like you said, it's my portal door. You do not get to decide who uses it, and who doesn't." Eda said, before looking at Luz. "I'll let you use my door, only if you help me first."
"Alright, seems fair enough." Luz said.
"You doing okay?" Kali asked, as they began following Eda down the path, leading to a spooky looking house. "Being here on the Boiling Isles, I mean?"
"I'll be fine." Luz stated.
"We can talk more inside." Eda said.
"Aren't you worried about those guards finding us?" Luz asked.
"Nope, my house has a state of the art defense system." Eda said.
"Hoot, hoot. Password please." The owl face on the door said.
"Oh, pineapple owl?" Kali guessed.
"Don't encourage Hooty." Eda sighed.
"Why not? It's fun to guess stuff like verbal passwords. It's like trying to figure out how to open a secret dungeon full of adventure and treasure." Kali smiled.
"Come on in." Hooty said happily, before opening his mouth wide enough for them to enter. Once they passed through, he closed his mouth, and belched like he'd just had a big meal.
"Welcome, to the Owl House." Eda smiled, snapping her fingers, and lighting the candles that went around the room. "This is my hideout whenever I wanna hide away from the pressures of modern life, or the law, or ex-boyfriends."
"Wow, Witch's lair." Luz gasped in awe.
"Assuming you need a place to stay Kali, you're welcome to live with me. Question is, how did you get here from Fiore?" Eda said. "You mentioned you had a portal of your own, but how? As far as I know, I have the only portal, and it only leads to the human realm, well except for Earthland that one time I tried overloading it with magic."
"Thanks. An' my methods for getting here, are a secret."
"This place is beautiful, do you live alone?" Luz asked turning to look at Eda.
"Actually…" Eda began, before the building began to shake. "I have a roommate." She sighed as she crossed her arms.
"Who dares intrude upon I, the King of Demons?" A deep voice began before turning into a higher voice as a small guy in a bath towel, and a towel around his head, and a rubber ducky in his hand, came out from around the corner of the entry way leading deeper into the house.
"Oh my gosh he's so adorable." Kali gasped as she beat Luz to the punch, hugged him tight, their eyes wide with adorableness overload.
"Eda he's so cute. Who's a widdle guy, who's a widdle guy?" Luz questioned, doing baby talk to the small demon. "Is it you, is it you?"
"No, I don't know who your little guy is. Eda, who is this monster?" King questioned, trying to break free of Kali's grasp.
"Oh this is Luz, the human." Eda said. "She's here to help us with our little… situation. An' this is Kali, she's a Witch…"
"Sorceress." Kali corrected.
"From Fiore. She's also here to help us with our situation."
"That weird place you told me about?" King asked, stopping his struggles as he looked at Eda. "Either way, yay."
"Wait, wait, wait. I don't like the sound of this, situation." Luz said.
"I don't either." Kali said, before her hood began to move, and a small dragon the size of a house cat popped out of it and growled in Kali's ear. "Neither does Sapphire."
"Is that a rare blue vermilion razor back?" Eda gasped.
"Yes."
"Seems kinda small for its species, but it's your pet?"
"Best friend actually." Kali clarified. "But we still don't trust this situation of yours."
"Just, let me explain the situation." Eda said, drawing a big circle of magic into the air.
"Oh, this should be interesting to watch." Kali said, eating some dried meat, while offering some to King, who happily accepted it.
"King was once a mighty, King of Demons." Eda began. "Until his crown of power was stolen and he became… this."
"You mean this little bundle of joy?" Luz questioned, now being the one holding King tight in her arms.
"How the hell did you manage to grab him from me?" Kali pondered, stumped at how Luz did that.
"The crown is being held, by the Evil Warden Wrath." Eda began. "An' locked away, behind a magical force field only a human, or a Dragonslayer, can break through."
"A what slayer?" Luz asked.
"A type of sorcerer or sorceress who has magic designed for slaying dragons. They're from Earthland, I actually know a fire Dragonslayer named Natsu." Kali explained. "So what are you wanting us to do about it Eda?"
"This offer is mainly meant for Luz." Eda said. "If you help us retrieve his crown, we'll send you back to your realm. So what do you say? Plus, who could say no to this little guy and his cute face?" Eda questioned, holding up King who somehow managed to escape from Luz's grip.
"No, please don't encourage her." King panicked.
"I mean, we're kinda your only way home." Eda said.
"Backing her into a corner. Gramps warned me you were a shifty one."
"Gramps?" Eda questioned.
"A nickname Natsu started calling the Master by." Kali stated.
"Oh well. Now we've got no time to lose." Eda said, grabbing Luz and heading for the door, with Kali following.
"Soon Mr. Ducky, we shall drink the fear of those who mocked us." King said, running after them.
"Where are we going?" Luz questioned.
"Somewhere super fun." Eda said, grabbing her staff.
~Conformatorium~
"The Conformatorium." Eda said, as thunder and lightning echoed through the clouded skies.
"What is the Conformatorium?" Luz asked.
"A place for those considered, unsuitable, for society." Eda explained with an annoyed scoff.
"So, they're basically trying to take away someone's free will, and whoever defies those who set that law, get sent here?" Kali inquired.
"Nailed it kid." Eda said.
"Whoa, these guys really have the hots for you." Luz said, looking at a wanted poster.
"Yep, but we were never caught, because we were too slippery."
"Don't wanna imagine that." Kali sighed.
"Try to catch me when I'm covered in grease, I'm a squirmy little fella." King said, before he fell off Luz's head, into Kali's arms.
"So what's the plan?" Kali asked.
"You, me, and Luz will sneak up to the top of the tower where they're holding my crown." King stated.
"An' I'm gonna make sure the Warden's distracted."
"Will I need a disguise?" Luz asked.
"I don't think that will be…"
"I've been waiting to use this." Luz said, pulling up her hood while interrupting Kali, showing it was a cat hoodie. "Meow-meow."
"It's hideous." King said.
"Oh you'll fit right in." Eda smiled, before using her magic to create a solid platform under their feet, and sent them up to the top of the tower. "Hang on tight."
"To what?" Kali questioned.
As they reached the top, Kali pushed King and Luz forward through the open window, before the platform dissipated and she fell down.
"Kali." Luz panicked looking back out, only to back up, as Kali was holding onto Sapphire, as the tiny dragon flew her through the window.
"I'm fine. Sapphire's always got my back." Kali smiled, Sapphire sitting on her shoulder and rubbing her head against Kali's cheek while purring.
"How can her tiny wings support your weight?" King asked.
"Rude." Kali said. "But if you must know, blue vermilion razor backs are capable of carrying off prey, a hundred times their own weight. An' that's only the toddlers."
"Oh, check it out." Luz said, leading them through the corridors of cells.
"I doubt all these cells are in use. The Emperor must rule with an iron fist, if so many people are in fear of him." Kali said.
"Hey cat lady?" One of the inmates questioned, grabbing their attention. "How'd you get out of your cells?"
"Oh, I'm not a cat person, and we're not criminals." Luz said.
"Not yet you're not." King stated.
"Neither are we. Stupid warden likes to lock people up who don't fit in." The woman said, pulling out a red book and opening it to a story. "I write fanfic's of food falling in love. I like food, I like love, just let me write about it."
"Can I have a copy of that?" Kali asked.
"I'm here, because I like eating my own eyes." The cellmate to the left said, taking out one of his five eyes, and eating it before it grew back.
"Well if it doesn't hurt you, I don't see what the big deal is." Kali said.
"We are agents of free expression, they will never silence us." A small creature said.
"Yeah, she's really big into conspiracy theories."
"The world is a simulation, we are but play things for a higher being."
"Whatever kills the boredom I guess." Kali said.
"Wait, none of these are actual crimes. None of you actually did anything wrong." Luz said before pulling Eda's wanted poster out from her pocket. "You're all just a bunch of weirdo's, like me."
"Luz, we gotta hide." Kali said, grabbing Luz by her hoodie, and dashing off as the ground began to shake with the sound of footsteps.
As they hid in one of the empty cells, Kali made sure to close it, and hide Sapphire in her hood, before the large bulky figure of Warden Wrath came through the door, and into their line of vision.
"I can hear you." Wrath said.
Kali just remained still, not sure if she should play her hand yet or not, as Wrath continued on.
"Just what are you fools whispering about?" He questioned, before looking down and seeing Eda's wanted poster, to which Luz had dropped. "Ah, the Owl Lady." He said, picking it up, before the crumpled the poster into a ball, and turned his fist into a hammer, slamming it against the cell the three were hiding in, bending the metal badly. "I'll get my hands on her soon enough." He declared, before looking into the cell, and only seeing Kali with an angered look on her face.
"Fight against the oppressor. We will resist, we will conquer. We will never be afraid of you, you old creep." The conspiracy theorist declared, before Wrath stepped up and opened her cell.
"Shit. Not good." Kali cursed.
"Hooray I'm free." The theorist said, before she was grabbed by Wrath.
"Let this be a lesson to all of you. There's no place in society for you if you can't fit in." Wrath stated squeezing tighter on his victim, before marching off to deliver more punishment to her.
The moment he was gone, Luz and King crawled out from behind Kali and tried to open the door.
"Oh come on, he damaged the cell, it won't open." Luz said.
Kali just stepped in front of them, pushing the two back before she spun around, and with a hard strike, as she slammed her foot into the bars with a spinning back kick, sent the cell door flying down the cavern of the spiraling corridor. The echoing sound of the cell bars traveled throughout the Conformatorium, before it stopped, creating a thundering echo throughout the tower.
"Whoa." Luz said. "She's strong."
"As a dragon." Kali said, cracking her neck, as she stepped through the dust she made. "Now come on, everyone up and at 'em. You got lives to live, and no time to waste them in this dump." Kali said, flipping the switches to the remaining prisoners cells.
"What's the point. He's just gonna catch us again, and lock us up."
"Like he always does."
"Life isn't easy. But its worth living if you fight for what you believe in, because we only have one life to live. To be free and to do things your own way, is what it means to be a magic user. An' for me, that's what it means to be a member of Fairy Tail." Kali said, her mark glowing visibly through from under her top.
"Come on, you've set them free, now we gotta meet up with Eda." Luz said.
Heading through the tower, Kali, Luz, and King made sure to keep themselves from being spotted, as they finally met up with Eda.
"Hey, I just checked… the Warden is distracted. He got pulled out from tormenting some tiny creature when this big sound echoed from the top of the tower, all the way to the bottom. He won't be coming around here any time soon." Eda stated.
"That would be thanks to me." Kali said, marching up to the doors leading to the confiscations vault.
"My crown. It's close, I can feel it's power." King said, running up and scratching at the door.
"Aw he's so cute when he gets thirsty for power." Eda cooed.
"It's not fair that they were all in here." Luz said. "They just wanna be themselves. Why does everyone think that wanting to be a weirdo is so bad?"
"It's just the true nature of this world Luz." Kali said, literally kicking the door open, similarly to how she did with the cell door. "Seems like you and I were both expecting something else. But reality, is a cruel and harsh blade, that can cut deep."
"Whoa Mama, she is strong." Eda said. "I guess now I know what she did to cause the distraction."
"If you mean kick one of the cell doors down the cavern to escape our hiding spot, then yes." Luz said.
"I was more thinking she tore it off the hinges, but I guess that works too." Eda said as King ran into the room. "Come on, before he hurts himself."
"Ow."
"Too late." Kali sighed.
Inside the contraband room, there was a massive pillar of light, that no doubt was the barrier only Luz or a Dragonslayer could break through. King was on the ground rubbing his head, before he got up and went running at it again, only to be stopped by Sapphire grabbing him by the scruff of his neck, and dropped into Kali's arms.
"Luz is here, remember?" She asked.
"Oh, right."
"Go on kiddo, do your thing."
Kali just watched as Luz went towards the barrier, and passed right through it. But at the same time, she couldn't help but feel something was off.
"Sapphire." Kali whispered. "Take to the shadows, and come when I signal."
The dragon nodded before taking flight, flying around the room before vanishing.
"You gotta be kidding me." Kali heard Luz say, before she came out of the barrier before it dropped, revealing all that was behind it.
"My crown. Yes, yes." King cheered, jumping from Kali's arms and grabbing the paper crown in Luz's hands, and putting it on. "I can feel my dark powers returning. You there nightmare critter. I shall call you, Francois and you shall be a minion in my army of darkness."
"That crown doesn't give him any sort of powers, does it?" Kali asked, looking to Eda.
"Nope."
"So we just risked our lives, for a stupid paper crown?"
"Yep." Eda said. "Oh, look at us you two. King and I don't have much in this world. We've only got each other. So if that dumb crown is important to him, then it's important to me too. An' besides, us weirdo's have to stick together, you know?" She smiled giving them a wink.
"That's kinda sweet, I guess." Kali said.
"Well, we owe you both one. Now let's get out of here before the warden finds us, and loses his head." Eda said, as a dark figure came up from behind her.
"Too late." Wrath said, before turning his hand into an axe blade.
"EDA." Kali cried out, forcing her to duck down, before blocking the blade with a weapon of her own, that appeared from thin air, before she spun around, and kicked the Warden in the chest, with a firm straight kick.
Before Kali could continue, she was stopped as a net wrapped around her, pinning her arms to her sides, and knocking the weapon out of her hands.
"No, that was a gift from Erza for congratulating me on completing my first S-Class quest." Kali hissed, as the guards picked her up, and confiscated the sword.
"You're an S-Class mage?" Eda asked.
"No, Gramps just allowed me to join Erza on her S-Class quests a few times."
"Finally, I have you cornered Eda the Owl Lady." Wrath said, grabbing King's crown.
*Sniff-sniff* "Does anyone else smell flowers?" Kali asked.
"My guards could never get you." Wrath said, as King tried to jump up and take his crown back. "But I knew that if I took your pets toy, you'd come running." He stated, before crushing the crown.
"No! My power." King sobbed.
"What do you want with me? I've never actually broken any of your stupid laws… in front of you." Eda said.
"That's not helping." Kali stated, from where she was being held.
"I want you…"
"Seriously, does no one else notice the…"
"To go out with me." Wrath said, holding a bouquet of flowers to Eda.
"Oh, that explains why I was smelling flowers." Kali said.
"Go boss." One of the guards said, while holding two thumbs up to him.
"You've always eluded our capture. You've always been the one that got away. I find that very alluring." Wrath said.
"I think I'm gonna be sick." Kali said.
"You stay out of this." Wrath said, tossing the flowers and grabbing Kali with his shape shifting hands and lifting her up into the air, while his guards grabbed Luz and King. "So how about it Owl Lady? The most powerful Witch of the Boiling Isles, and the feared Warden Wrath. We'd be the strongest power couple ever. I mean it's, it's not like you can say no right now."
Eda just looked at Wrath, before looking to Kali, and then to Luz and King, and with a sigh, she made up her mind.
"Hell no." Eda stated, spitting in his face, on his mask.
"Disgusting, don't you know how many germs are in your mouth?" Wrath questioned., grabbing Eda with his other hand.
"You had your guards stalk me, and nearly cut off my head." Eda stated. "I am not interested."
"Well if you're not gonna come quietly…"
"Hey Wrath." Kali said, grabbing his attention, an angered look on her face.
"What do you want?"
"To tell you to stay away from my Guild mate you creep." She stated, before biting her lip and whistling, like she was calling for a horse.
From out of the shadows, Sapphire came down and hit Wrath with a breath attack with sparks of blue lightning dancing across her wings. With the attack hitting its mark, Wrath dropped Kali and Eda, before her wings cut through the net binding Kali, allowing for the girl to land gracefully with the elegance of an acrobatic, before jumping into the air, just as Sapphire went still, and grew a staff, with Kali taking the Palisman in a defensive stance.
"Whoa." Luz said.
"A Palisman?" Eda gasped as Kali took out the two guards with flaming kicks.
"You little brat, you'll pay for your insolence." Wrath stated.
"Luz, take good care of King and Eda." Kali said.
"You will not escape." Wrath cried out, taking off his mask and letting off a fire breath attack.
Kali took a deep inhale of breath, building up her magic in her lungs.
"Lightning/Flame Dragon: ROAR!" She called out, letting out the breath attack, overpowering Wrath's as it enveloped him. "Didn't you know?" She questioned with a smirk, the eyes of her Dragon Palisman glowing. "Blue vermilion razor backs are by nature dual elemental dragons." Wrath roared out in anger and charged at Kali, preparing to hit her with a damaging attack. "Still kicking I see."
(Cue Music… Believer: Imagine Dragons)
"Then let's get to it." Kali smirked.
Jumping into the air, Kali evaded Wrath's strike before using her staff to draw a circle of magic into the air, and sent a flurry of electric icicles that pierced the ground, and with him in the closest proximity to them, acted as the end point for the electricity to meet.
"Wow, that's gotta be a, shocking experience." Kali punned, before wincing as Sapphire bit her ear. "Yeah, yeah I get it. I promised you no more puns about my spells."
With her ears twitching, Kali had to jump to the side, and evade the war hammer Wrath had turned his hand into, sent her way.
"Man you are so annoying, and you wanted to date my grandma? As if." Kali said, drawing a giant magic circle in the air and sending a gale of wind at Wrath, picking him up off the ground, and slamming him into the ceiling. "She has way more class then to date someone like you, creep."
"Don't, call me a creep." Wrath stated angrily, pushing against the gale of wind, holding him to the ceiling.
"Oh shit." Kali cursed, jumping back right before Wrath came down and slammed his fists right where she had stood.
Kali began to draw a circle in the air, but stopped when she felt a throbbing pain in her chest, and clutched it tightly as she broke out in a cold sweat.
"No… not now." She hissed. "Sapphire!"
The Dragon Palisman didn't need to be told anymore as she dove into Kali's satchel, and pulled out a vial with a red potion inside, and gave it to Kali.
"Good girl…" Kali hissed, downing the potion, before her eyes turned up at Wrath, and she was hit with his arm, sending her out of the top of the building while destroying the wall.
Down in the courtyard bellow, Luz, Eda, and King had just managed to escape the building before they heard the sound of the destroyed wall, and looked up to see Kali falling from top of the tower, red potion in hand, and Sapphire struggling in the Warden's Grip.
"NO." Luz cried out.
"I got this." Eda said, dropping King and Luz on the ground, and flying up to the battle, catching Kali in her arms.
"Where's Sapphire?" Kali questioned.
"Your little Palisman?" Wrath questioned gaining their attention, showing he was holding Sapphire in his grasp. "It'll make a lovely offering to the Emperor."
"No." Kali cried out, getting to her feet on the staff before jumping towards the opening in the wall.
"Kid wait." Eda called out, trying to grab her.
"With the elements of my right hand, and the elements of my left!" Kali chanted as roaring crimson flames and royal blue lightning enveloped her hands, before building up in size. "Vermilion Dragon: Brilliant Storm!" She cried out, as she slammed the two wrecking balls of fire and lightning against Wrath, burning him to a crisp as he released Sapphire.
(End Song…)
As Kali began to fall back down, Sapphire took on her staff form and caught Kali, before they took off, with Eda flying down to pick up Luz and King who were escaping with the other prisoners.
"That was so impressive kid. So I take it that magic you did was…"
"Vermilion Dragonslayer Magic, yeah." Kali said. "It's a long story, but I can tell you about it some other time."
"I'd like that. But first you gotta explain to me, what you're doing on the Boiling Isles." Eda said.
~Later at The Owl House~
Kali sat at the kitchen table, sipping on a mug of Apple Blood that Eda said she could take, while scratching Sapphire under the chin.
"Well Kali, looks like Luz is gonna be staying with us for a few months to learn how to do magic." Eda said, coming into the kitchen and sitting across from her.
"I'm sure she'll learn. I mean, people in Fiore don't even have a magic bile sack connected to their hearts, and they still do magic." Kali said.
"Then maybe you could teach her some of that Fiore Magic and keep her out of my hair and spare me the headache." Eda suggested.
"Oh no, I only know Vermilion Dragonslayer Magic, Reequip Magic, and Grandpa's Titan Magic." Kali stated.
"Speaking of, does Makarov actually know you're here? Because if not, I will be sending you back to Fiore one way or another." Eda stated.
"He knows. In fact he's the one who sent me. Thought I'd be able to learn a thing or two here." Kali said, petting Sapphire along her back.
"Which brings us to our next topic of conversation, how do you have a Palisman?" Eda asked.
"Well, Gramps gave me the Palistrom wood you left behind. It'd just been sitting in storage, and I was learning how to make carvings from a guild mate, so he thought I'd make good use of it. Told me if I expressed my deepest desires to whatever I carved, it'd come to life. I didn't believe him at first, but as you can see, it really happened, and Sapphire bonded with me."
"Uh-huh, what about your tooth, see an old picture and decide to copy me?" Eda asked.
"This? Yes and no. I lost my adult canine in a fight not long after it grew in, and when I saw a picture of you with Gramps, I thought I could do the same as you with your tooth."
"Interesting. Now a couple more questions. How and when did you carve your Palisman?" Eda asked.
"We have this artistic magic user name Jonah Reedus, he's the one I was learning carving from, and he can do all sorts of different art magic, and he taught me to where I could make them and sell my carvings for a profit, which is a very lucrative business venture for me in Earthland, by the way. As for Sapphire… well I've actually had her since I was ten."
"Listen, I'm really glad you're here. It's nice to have someone from Earthland around." Eda smiled, putting a hand on Kali's shoulder. "An' you're welcome to stay as long as you like. All I ask in return, is some help with taking care of King, Hooty, and a few chores around the house."
"Great." Kali smiled before she yawned. "But for now, I think I just need to get some rest."
"Of course kiddo. Finish your Apple Blood, then head upstairs to the top floor. You can take the second largest bedroom in the house, right across from mine." Eda said.
"Thanks."
"Hold up." Eda said. "Forgot to ask, do you have any way of contacting Makarov?"
"I got this PCL." Kali said, pulling a rectangular crystal out from her pocket. "It's a Portable Communications Lacrima. It allows me to contact anyone back in Fiore. Well, now it does since I boosted its power."
"Good. Be sure to keep in contact with them. Goodnight Kiddo."
"Night Eda." Kali said, heading up stairs. Heading up, and taking the room Eda had given her, Kali sighed as she made a makeshift nest like mattress bed, and closed her eyes to sleep, before her PCL vibrated and she picked it up to see she got a message from Makarov. With a smile she opened it up to see what he wanted.
M: Hey Kiddo, just checking in to see how things are going. Did everything go alright?
Kali chuckled, thinking back to what had happened earlier that night.
K: Yeah, everything went fine. Eda and I, along with a human girl named Luz, and Eda's roommate demon named King, went and raided the Conformatorium for a toy of King's, Warden Wrath had taken just to lure her there.
M: Where is your grandmother, give her the PCL.
K: It's fine gramps, we made it out okay. But get this, Warden Wrath actually wanted to go out with Eda, and lured us there just to ask her out.
M: I'm glad you made it out okay, but you should still be careful.
K: I know, I know. I'll try to be more careful. Love you Grandpa.
M: Love you too child. Natsu, Grey, and Erza say hi.
K: Tell them I said hi back, and I miss them. Also, Eda doesn't know my actual relation to you, or two her for that matter.
M: Why not?
K: I couldn't bring myself to tell her, I was too scared.
M: It's alright to be afraid, but it's what you do with that fear, that tells you, who you really are.
K: Alright. I'm gonna hit the hay. It's been one exhausting day.
M: Then I should let you get some sleep. Good night my dear. Pleasant dreams.
K: Good night Grandpa.
With her conversation over with, Kali turned back over on her makeshift bed, and allowed for sleep to overtake her, with Sapphire curling up under her arm.
"I have a feeling, the Boiling Isles will be very interesting." Kali smiled.
~A/N~
Hey, hope you like this little Redux of my Fairy Coven crossover.
As you could probably tell, most of it remained the same, but I did make some edits, the major one being, Eda has no idea what Kali's actual relation to her or Makarov is.
