In the middle of the night, villagers were being taken out of their homes by raiders to be killed, others were taken as slaves while some well you know what happens.
A man watches as his wife and children were being taken outside of his home by two raiders, he tried to go after them but was slammed into the ground once again by the boot of a giant man.
The raider pulled his sword from its sheath and brought it down to kill the one man beneath his foot, but the man without giving up grabbed onto a sharp piece of wood and stabs the raider by his ankle and quickly rolls away as the raider stabbed his sword onto the wooden floor to stabilize himself from falling...
The man without wasting his time ran out of his cottages and went after his wife and kids.
When he exited his home five raiders were standing between him and his family. And all of them stopped and turned to face him with their swords drawn.
"What are you waiting for you fools! Kill him,"
One raider went in and swings his sword at the man but he sidestep and kicks the raider in the left side of his waist.
The raider grunted angrily and pushed forth but the man effortlessly slammed his boots at his face and took the sword from the raider, and faced the edge of the sword on his neck.
"Let go of my family, or your friend dies," The man said with demanding anger.
Hehehe*
"No, I think you aren't nowhere to give us an order," One raider spoke as he walked to the carriage that was holding the man's family and grabbed his wife by the arm, and pulled her out with his dagger pointed to her neck.
"Mother!" Two kids screamed after their mom as they tried to go after her but were pulled back into the carriages by the other raiders.
"It's ok children go back in now!" The woman says to her kids in fear for their life.
"I suggest you lower your weapon before I do something that'll scar you and the children forever,"
The man is in fear of what to happen to his wife and drops the sword to the ground and stared at the raider.
"Let them go, they have nothing to do with this, They are innocent," The man says.
"I don't think so, besides I want them to watch as I kill you slowly," Says a raider who the man had stabbed in the ankle.
The man turned around only to get hit in the head by the raider bud of his sword.
The woman who saw her husband get hurt tried to go toward him but couldn't due to the raider's grip that was holding her. "Brandor!"
"It's ok Malena, stay back!" Brandor told his wife.
"Awww, would you look at that your woman is worried about you," The raider said mockingly.
Brandor watched as the raider held his sword up in the air and prepared to bring it down on him.
"Father!" The two children yelled out to their dad as they cried in tears.
His wife reached for him but was hit beside the head leg causing her to fall, but that didn't stop her as she crawled after her husband.
"No matter we'll just kill you first then we'll have our ways with your wife," Spoke the raider.
"Children close your eyes now!" Shout the father.
Brandor held his wife by her hand for it might be the last time he would do it with his love. He let out a deep sigh of relief and waited for his end...
"I will always cherish you, my love," Malena his wife says as she cried.
"And so will I my love," Brandor returned tightening his clasp in their hands.
Just mere inches before the sword had come upon brandor all everyone could hear was a loud bang like that of a large cannon, the next thing they saw and heard was the raider that was going to kill brandor had a large hole appear in the center of his chest.
"Wh- what is thi-
The raider didn't finish as he dropped his sword and fell forward face-first into the ground, brandor quickly scoots back with his wife in fright. He had never witnessed something like this before nor had he heard such a loud noise that can make it sound closer to that of a dwarven cannon.
"You," A raider spoke to brandor. "What have you done to him, you filthy bastard!"
"Nothing, I have done nothing to him," Replied Brandor still in surprise at what just occurred.
"Liar, I will have your head on a spear. Prepare to die!"
"Not today," a voice spoke out.
"Huh!" The raider says in confusion as he was suddenly sent forth crashing into the burnt down cottages or home of brandor and his family.
The four other raiders turned to face a giant stranger covered in a rather nice leather cloak walking towards where the kids were. Everyone's eyes followed the stranger as he just grabbed the cage that held the two kids in and pulled them out on the edge of the carriage. Next, he wrapped his fingers around the iron bars and pried them apart without no effort making those around him widen their eyes in bewilderment.
The stranger reached for the two kids who were huddled together.
Brandor and his wife ran after the stranger thinking that he was going to do something to their children.
To their surprise, the stranger held the chains that were holding the two kids together and squeezed hard enough till they broke apart freeing the two kids.
"I suggest that you four run away if you wanna live, if not then you are welcome to fight me," The stranger spoke in a dark and deep almost robotic tone that made the raiders gulp.
"What do you mean fool there's only you and four of us, you may have sneaked and attacked my colleagues from behind but you'll soon regret that decision," Spoke one of the raiders.
The stranger stepped aside and allowed the kids to run toward their parents as they embraced each other.
"Well then," The stranger says. "What are you waiting for," Says the large hooded figure.
One raider decided to rush in at the stranger only to get grabbed by the face and slammed into the ground then he was being used as a bat smashing him into one of his colleagues.
The stranger then walked toward the other two raiders and before the two could even think of attacking they were both shocked by the speed of the stranger as he appeared in front of them and held them by the neck.
The two of them struggled to pry off the large hand of the stranger as they tried to breathe in some air but failed to do so. The stranger then began to squeeze even harder as the last thing that was heard we're bones cracking.
The stranger let go of the two now dead bodies and turned to the other two raiders who were just getting up.
The two raiders who saw their fallen comrades chose to run and flee from the stranger that was standing a few feet away from them.
The stranger chose to let them go for a bit further, he grabs a wooden pole and snaps it easily in half. Aiming the pointed parts at the two he heaved it effortlessly at his two targets and the both of them were struck hard through the chest as the poles hit the dirt ground.
Brandor stood in front of his family with his arms spread over them protecting them from the stranger as he turned around to face their direction.
All four of them could only see the hood of the stranger glinting in a color of gold. Brandor thought that the stranger was probably wearing some sort of helmet.
"Are the four of you alright?" The stranger spoke making them tense up once again.
Brandor decided to speak up after he had to cough due to what had transpired moments ago.
"Uhmm, yes, we are," Brandor says. "Thanks to you stranger we are okay,"
"Good, now I'll be going," said the stranger as he left but was stopped by brandor who wanted to ask him something.
"Wait there, stranger!"
The giant stopped when he heard the man take four steps forth. "What is it?" Asked the stranger.
"May I at least know your name," Brandor asked him.
"And why's that?" Questioned the stranger.
"Please I wish to know the one who saved my family it's the least I could ask of you, please," Says brandor.
The stranger was pondering if he should tell him his real name but thought that it would be foolish of him, besides his trainer mendez would've given him a long discussion about how much of a fool he is to tell people his actual name.
"You can call me spartan-005," Toa says answering him.
"That is a strange name," Brandor let out as he then stopped in his tracks when he saw the stranger turn back around.
"I do not care, it is what you'll only get, now if you'll please excuse me I gotta go," Responded koa disappearing into the total darkness.
"Brandor who was that!?" questioned Malena his wife.
"I don't know my love," Replied brandor as he walked back to his family. "All I know is that I am grateful for him saving us all,"
"Father, where did the big man go?" A little girl says as she looked in the direction Toa left.
"To the town, my child now come on we must find leave," Says Malena.
"Where mother?" The oldest child asks.
Malena gave brandor a look as he sighs in sadness of their home. "To your brother and aunt's home, from there we'll reside until I can make a new home for the four of us," Brandor told his son.
...
A ranger blocked an attack from a raider and kicks him in the armor chest plate sending him falling on his behind. Ducking down from a sword swing as it missed him he slashes the attacker right in the raider-opened armored plate.
He saw one of them was running at him. The ranger waited for a moment for the raider to get close and he uses the shield and bashes him in the head and sliced his throat, spinning his sword the ranger stabbed one coming from behind him and finished with one more from his left by ducking down and cutting his attackers foot off and finished with him by bringing the head of his sword down on the raider's head.
As he was taking in his surroundings the ranger watched as the small town he came upon was overrun by several raiders.
Only he and five of his companions gave their hearts to defend a small town that he was sure would be burnt to dust. No matter what this was his friend's home and wanted to protect it just as he did for him.
He heard the sounds of raiders crying out in death's ear, it was weird for him. So he decided to go on ahead to find out what was going on.
...
The ranger passed by the dead bodies of some of the townspeople while those tend to the ones they've lost as they cried in pain of their loss.
The ranger felt his heart pang in pain due to the many deaths but nevertheless, he was used to seeing this and did the best he could to ignore it and continue on his path.
Though while he continued he saw that the townspeople weren't the only ones laying down dead, litters of raiders' corpses had holes in most parts of their body while some were headless though he can see that right where their head used to be was a big footprint of some kind had smashed the raiders heads into smithereens.
Throughout his long life as a warrior hed never saw either men or women able to accomplish such a feat. At first, he thought of trolls but the footprint of those giants doesn't match the exact one he is seeing right now.
And so he followed after the tracks of whoever it is that have killed these raiders, however, he hopes that this strange being wasn't a threat to the townspeople but deep down he had a feeling that the being would not harm him or the innocents since he only seems fixed on killing the raiders.
...
After the spartan killed off most of the raiders his eyes turned to the mini-map on his helm giving him the last few locations of one more group of raiders that were huddled inside a building.
"Deha are you certain that this is all of them?" The spartan asked his A.I. companion.
Sigh*
"I've calculated their numbers of 150 and are now lessened thanks to the help of those rangers spartan, now there are only ten more of those raiders hiding just inside this building," The AI responded as she zoomed in on their targets.
"And might I remind you, they have been alerted thanks to you for letting that one raider leave.
"Then I'll deal with them," Replied the spartan.
...
The spartan arrived at the enemy location though he took to the roof just on top of his preys as looks down at them.
It seems the one raider that fled from the massacre of his other comrade had warned the other man's inside the building but failed to no avail.
The leader laughed it off believing that one man can take on multiple of his raiders alone of course he knew of the rangers.
"Quiet, if I hear one more of you speaking about some stranger I will have your head on a pike do you understand me!" The leader said with irritation.
"But boss you have to believe me, he-
Before the raider finished his sentence the leader unsheathed his blade and held it against his throat.
"I advise you to keep your mouth shut before I run out of patience and kill you. I have many other raiders that can replace a lesser messenger like you, so do me a favor and shut up before you end up like the others!" The leader warned as he turned around.
One other raider walked past his downed comrade toward his boss.
"Boss we have as much silver and riches such as gold just like you asked,"
"Good, we'll meet up with the others outside of the green village before more of those rangers catches up," The leader says as he begins to pack up.
"But boss what about the stock of coins our dead comrades collected?" The raider asked his boss.
"No need to worry we can always come back and raid these this village another time, but for now we must depart,"
"Alright, boss," The man says.
Crack*
"What was that!" One of the raiders spoke as he and the others looked around.
While they were darting at whatever it is that causes that noise they followed one of their colleague's movements as he held a torch close underneath a bed only to get scared when a rat came and ran off passing by them.
The one raider receives the mockery laughs of his companions and stood back up on his foot.
As the others were holding in their laughter they were in shock when the spartan Smash through the roof of the building and landed on one of their companions turning him into mush.
Before anything came to pass their new arrival just zipped past three raiders and killed them with a knife to their throat and a kick to the chest of the third one.
"That's three down and seven more to go," Spoke Deha in the spartan's hud.
"Deha," Said The spartan as he held one raider by the neck and crushes his windpipe.
"Six more to go,"
"What are you fools just standing there for, attack him!" The leader ordered as he prepared to leave.
Spinning the blade in his hand the spartan threw it at the leader of the raiders in the back of his kneecap. He backhanded one raider across the living room as he slumped down on the floor.
The spartan weaved past one more raider as he caught him by his forearm and snatches his sword and then threw it at the leader's palms as it sticks into the door. The one raider he held failed to free himself after he punches the intruder many times. The Spartan just snaps his arm off of him and picked him up then brings him back down and kneed him in the face.
The last of the raider made a foolish idea by stabbing the spartan from the back and his sword broke apart from the impact.
The spartan gradually turns around facing his last prey towering over him with his massive frame even though he was concealed with his cloak.
"Wait toa, stop!" Deha let out quickly right before her partner could kill the young man in front of the spartan.
"And can you tell why I shouldn't?" Question Toa.
"This one is innocent," Responded the AI.
"In case you forgot he's one of the raiders who killed those people deha," Toa said with opposition to killing the raider in front of him.
"Jesus toa will you look at the kid, he is scared, he only tried to kill you which wouldn't do so much but look at the state he is in, he is just only a child,"
"A teenager I would say," Added the spartan.
"I-i didn't kill anyone," The boy said scared of what was to come of him. "I only hid until one of the raiders forced me out of hiding and told me to fight you, if not they would kill me and my little sister," He explained.
"See ya big oak," Says deha.
"Fine! I'll let you live," Toa spoke shutting the ai up. "What is your name kid?" The spartan asks.
The teenager stuttered in his words for only a couple of seconds but quickly shook it off.
"Taynor,"
The spartan tried to get a readout of the boy to see if he was lying in any way shape or form
"Ok taynor, I need you to not go anywhere alright,"
"As you wish sir," He Responded.
The spartan then turned around to where the leader of the groups of raiders is, he was seen clutching his knee. The sees the spartan walking toward him and attempted to scoot back in fear but failed to as his legs wouldn't let him.
The spartan got down to eye level with the raider. "Name,"
"Nev- aaAAHH!"
He screams out in pain when toa pressed down on his bloodied knee and asked once more.
"I said name," Repeated the spartan. "Unless you want me to drop you off on those ranger's doorsteps,"
"Konar, that is my name I swear, now please let go!" The raider.
Toa then let go of his hand from the man's knee and stared at Konar.
"I'm gonna ask you some questions, you will answer them, and if I suspect any lies you'll be screaming again... Now, where is your base of camp?" Asked the spartan.
"I can't tel- AHHH!"
"Where Is it?" The spartan asked him deepening his thumb in the man's wound even more.
"Near the lake inside the dark forest of fangron," Says the raider as he breathes even harder than before due to his injury.
"Second question, are there any more of you out there?"
"Yes, more than you can think scoundrel, and when they find out about you they'l-aHHH!"
"I think it's time we finish this talk," Spoke Deha as she can already see the spartan point of view that the man is losing blood soon.
"I agree," Responded the spartan though the two individuals outside couldn't hear the AI only toa can if he so chooses to allow her to expose herself to this new world.
"Wait! What are you doing, I've told you all I know, please mercy,"
"Tell that to the innocents that you've and your men killed," Replied the spartan as he just pulled out a blade from his thigh compartment and sliced through the man's heart.
Taynor saw the stranger about to leave and rushed in to stop him. "Wait where are you going?"
"Maybe we should hear the boy's words," Deha said to her partner.
"I've already had enough problems on my hands deha, you already told me to spare his life he can deal with whatever it is he's got going on by himself," Toa told the ai.
"Please, you have to help me,"
The spartan didn't respond and proceed toward the door.
"I know where the raiders' base is, I can lead you there,"
The Spartan halted on his track when he heard that and turned to the boy.
"See, I told you we should've heard him out," Said Deha with a smile on her hologram face.
The spartan walked over to where the window is and ripped off the curtains and tossed it to the taynor.
"Wrapped yourself with that, so that way no one will see you as one of them," Toa said referring to the dead raiders.
Taynor nodded and did exactly as he was told and quickly followed after the stranger covered in a cloak.
...
The ranger that was following after the spartan track stopped when he heard crashing and sounds from yards away he stopped and looked around to where it came from and sighted a building just sixty yards away from him.
"Sir Johan, may I ask what it is we are searching for?" One ranger asked his ranger captain.
"A being ranger wren," The ranger known as Johan responded. "But I believe we have found where he is now, come one follow me,"
"As you say, sir Johan," Wren says as he gestured for his other companions to follow along.
