In which something is lost. (a series of haiku)
They sob in silence
The body lays in respite
All warmth gone away
Death is natural
But dying cruel and painful
Slowly even worse
Bright and beautiful
A mind full of hope and love
Was eaten away
Friends and family
Husband belovéd for years
Memories all fade
She could not see them
The black fog of her disease
Consumed her being
The last breath of life
Was comfort, not suffering
Tortured soul at rest
The pyre burns hot
But Zuko's tears feel ice cold
"My love – wait for me."
