Bo stared out of the window in the kitchen at the dead fields outside the clubhouse. The city's buildings could be seen in the distance, but she was focused on the emptiness. It wasn't unlike the emptiness she felt in her bed last night or this morning with Lauren gone.

Bo didn't argue when Lauren left. She needed time to process what had happened, too. Seeing her lover with visible signs of what Bo was capable of in bed? She was angry with herself because, even though her more primal instincts thoroughly enjoyed it, she hated the resulting marks on Lauren's body. It didn't matter to her that Lauren gave into it just as much. Bo didn't like that she was capable of hurting her wife in any way.

What made matters worse is that Evony was acting strange the past two weeks, too. Bo had not taken many meetings with her after the sexual rejection, which she suspected the Morrigan appreciated. It was never easy to be rejected, even if you were really old. When she did talk to her, the Morrigan would ask if there was anything she could do for her instead of the other way around. It was awkward, and Bo didn't like the change in their relationship. She hadn't even had a chance to tell Lauren about Evony hitting on her; Bo didn't think it was necessary to upset Lauren anymore than she already seemed these past few weeks.

Obviously, she was wrong. If ever there was a time to get out all of their frustration, anger, and secrets from each other, yesterday was it. The violent sex, while not completely about them, had been quite revealing. For a long time, Bo forgot that she was a monster. Last night, she proved it to herself and her girlfriend. Bo had spent the entire night upstairs in her bed after Lauren left. Kenzi came to check and see if she was alive, but Bo just feigned sleep and ignored her. She knew that Kenzi knew she wasn't really asleep, but the young girl did leave her be for the rest of the night.

Kenzi walked into the kitchen and immediately handed Alexie to Bo, who tentatively accepted the offered baby. Her best friend just ran to the bathroom without a word. Bo held Alexie out, away from her, and they had a staring contest. He thought it was funny, as he slapped at her forearms and giggled.

Bo felt that primal urge rolling around in her blood. She felt an even stronger urge to find Lauren again. She wasn't sure any amount of apology could help them come back from this.

Kenzi returned to the kitchen and took Alexie back from Bo.

"Geez, Bo. Watch his head." Kenzi cradled the poor baby's head. He was only four months old, but he already had strong neck muscles, so Bo didn't think she needed to do that anymore. Lauren was the one who usually reminded her or told her what she needed to do. Being around Alexie, Bo realized how much she did not know about taking care of children. She just knew that she desperately wanted and needed them soon. "Is everything okay? I saw a lot of clothes in the trash last night, and Lauren is gone."

"She went to stay at the farm for a few days." Bo couldn't lie and say everything was okay. She honestly didn't think it was, but she knew that she wanted it to be.

"You guys still fighting?" Kenzi had gone out with Hale several times in the past couple weeks, taking Alexie with her, just so that she could escape their fighting. She said that she didn't mind the crazy loud sex they had on occasion, but when they fought, it reminded her of living at home, so she would go elsewhere.

"Probably moreso now." Bo stared out the window again. What was she going to do? This primal need was driving her crazy. There was no way she was ready for a kid. She didn't even know what to do with Alexie.

"You still trying to get her pregnant?" Kenzi moved to place Alexie in his bouncy seat instead of handing him back to Bo. This thought told her that her best friend didn't trust her with her baby right now.

"I don't know if I'm doing it on purpose. I mean, yeah, I want kids with her, but it's like my body is making the decision for me. It knows what it has to do, and it's like I'm mad it's not working." Bo was afraid she would lose all of her control and completely drain her girlfriend. She had fallen on top of Lauren yesterday because she was drained herself from the quick and intense coupling but also just to physically feel Lauren's labored breathing beneath her, to know she was still alive.

"Has she still not figured out anything yet?" Kenzi started mixing a bottle for Alexie.

"She's been kind of focused on that blood fever treatment she developed." Bo sighed; her girlfriend was utterly brilliant. She was busy and stressed, yet Bo was being a dick to her. "I know she talked to Hale's maid, but I'm not sure what she found out."

"Yeah, I saw that woman's kid. If I were five years younger…" Kenzi looked where Bo kept staring out the window. She walked over to her and handed Bo the baby bottle. "You're not going to be a bad mom, Bo."

"Not like I have much reference considering my parents. I mean, I'm part sex monster and part devil. At least Lauren has that Hestian thing going on." Bo just stared at the bottle before Kenzi physically put it in her hand. She rolled her eyes, realizing she was being silly. She walked over to place the bottle in Alexie's mouth and finally felt herself relax when he started sucking down the formula much the same way his mother sucks down vodka. "Get this. I'm meeting Lauren's parents Friday night at some fancy country club."

"Just watch the veggies, and be nice to the servers." Their undercover stint at the one club was not one of her fondest memories, even if she did have a nice time and intense conversation with Dyson during the mission. She needed to call and see how he was doing. He and Ciara had both been sick lately, but both of them refused to go see Lauren about it.

"What do you wear to meet the Prime Minister? Lauren said nothing slutty." Bo wasn't stupid. She knew not to dress like a common working girl when meeting someone for a fancy dinner. She grew up in the Midwest. She had earned her etiquette badge in Girl Scouts. She still remembered what Ciara taught her about high society.

"Yeah, at least not to wear something slutty in front of her dad. From the stories that Gram used to tell, I think our little Lauren is a bit of a daddy's girl." She wasn't wrong. The few stories that Lauren told were additional confirmation. It was so strange to think of how one-sided that relationship had to have been. Lauren must have always been doing exceptional things to get his attention, but he just never did care. He was charged with one task; it was almost like he was thrilled to be owned and completely controlled by the fae. Growing up in that environment, is that why Lauren accepted things so easily with her own servitude? "From your closet? Umm…we may need to go shopping."

"That's not what I'm really worried about." Bo knew she could dress more sophisticated. She had done it several times for cases. If she treated this just like another undercover case, she would be fine.

"Meeting the in laws, eh?" Kenzi understood her so well. "Afraid Mama Lewis will cut you where you sit for practically ending her other children's lives just for some bastardized notion that you were saving the one child she doesn't seem to like?"

"I've had to live with the consequences this past year, Kenz. I can't even be around Gram without tensing, and Lauren still gives me that 'what the hell, Bo' look when she thinks I'm not looking. I'm surprised she's even letting me meet her parents after everything." Bo closed her eyes and attempted to calm herself. She had since learned to accept her past actions. She and Lauren had talked about it, and whenever they fought, her girlfriend had no trouble using the reminder as ammo before she would take off to stay at Gram's or sleep on the couch. "What if they think I'm not good enough for her? Okay, yeah, they don't get a choice in the matter because we're already bound, and I don't think Lauren would really care…but what if she does?" Bo came back to that familiar argument that she was not raised and did not come from a wealthy or powerful lifestyle. She knew Trick had money and power, but he kept it dormant, so she never got to experience that. On paper, she and Lauren should not work. Bo was glad that paper and reality were so different. "She's even borrowing Gram's Aston Martin."

"Damn, doc. Overcompensate much?" Kenzi took the now empty bottle from Alexie. Bo hadn't even noticed he had stopped eating. "Okay, here's the deal. Lauren loves you. You love Lauren. Despite your angry birds thing you got going on right now, that's not changed. She wants you to meet her parents. That's a big deal, Bo, especially for her. She doesn't even like her parents."

"Her mom actually arranged the dinner. I got the impression Lauren didn't feel like she had a choice to argue." Bo remembered what started their fight yesterday. She sat down at the kitchen island and propped her head up with her hands. "It's what started our argument, which didn't end pretty."

"I saw the casualties of war in the trash. Is that why Lauren left?" Kenzi rinsed out the bottle and laid it next to the other two. She and Alexie must have been up for a while, since there were no bottles on the counter last night.

"I hurt her, Kenz, and I mean physically hurt her. She was covered with bruises and bite marks. I've never lost my control with her like that." Bo saw Kenzi roll her eyes and felt angry at her best friend for not being more sympathetic.

"Bo, it's not like you're the first person to ever have angry sex. How do you think Alexie was conceived?" That was probably not the smartest choice of words considering Bo's own desire to conceive right now, but Kenzi would have no way of knowing that. It was all of a sudden all her brain could think about; could angry sex be the key to getting Lauren pregnant? Was that why her desires had been so rough? "Back to earth, BoBo."

"Sorry."

"Look, just let her calm down a bit. Calm down yourself. Then talk. It's you and Lauren. You two can't stay apart for too long. She eventually forgave you for offing her family, so you know she's capable of handling your crazy. It's, like, embedded in your blood now or something, or however that bond thingy works." Kenzi knew exactly how it worked; she had witnessed it enough times, but her best friend never passed up an opportunity to tease her about accidently getting fae-married. It was funnier than getting accidentally fae-pregnant. "For now, we'll go out and find you a killer outfit that will both accommodate a meet and greet with the in laws while still remaining super sexy and tantalizing for your girlfriend. We'll even find one that's practical in case they do try to kill you."

"Should I buy rings?" Bo had never given it much thought, but now, going to meet her in laws, it seemed like they were missing something. Could a simple ring be it? Would Lauren's parents dismiss her less if they had a symbol of their union showcased for all to see, not just the fae who could read their bond? Bo realized she liked the idea, but she was not even sure if Lauren would want to wear it, especially after last night. The doctor wouldn't be able to wear anything elaborate, so she couldn't get her some fancy diamond ring because it would be easy to lose when she had to take it off all the time when she went to work. A simple, smooth band would be okay, though. They were trying to get rid of her need to wear the Ash's necklace; would Lauren be offended if Bo bought her a ring to show her new loyalty? Would she feel owned by her? Better yet, would Bo start to feel like she owned her? Was that why the thought of rings even came to her? Was she trying to own Lauren?

"Dude, you just totally jumped somewhere off track. I'm talking dresses; you're talking wedding rings." Kenzi actually started to laugh a little, as she picked up Alexie to finally burp him. "Do you even know what size her finger is?"

"Yes." Bo smiled, knowing exactly what size Lauren's fingers were. She had studied those fingers like they were her favorite subject. She felt herself flush from desire and a need to be near those fingers soon.

"I do not want to know how you know…because I have a pretty good feeling I already know the answer." Kenzi handed Alexie to Bo again. This time, she felt more relaxed and actually cuddled the baby to her shoulder as he fell asleep, belly full. They both lowered their voices. "Buying your fae wife a ring almost two years after the fact? Trick would say it's very human of you."

"Well, I'm not asking his advice on this. I'm asking yours." Bo smiled and chuckled lowly, careful not to wake her baby nephew. "Is it the right thing to do? Am I forcing my own desires onto her?"

"All I know is that Lauren is mad crazy about you. If it's what you wanted, I don't think she would say no. She's worse at resisting you than people you actually put the whammy on." Kenzi went to take Alexie from her, but Bo just gripped him tighter. "Honestly, Bo. I don't think she would say no. I do think I want my baby back, and I don't mean ribs." Bo relented and handed Alexie back to Kenzie. "He needs to nap before we take him out to get his Aunt Bo a sexy yet parent-approved dress for the ball. Glass slippers optional."

"I'll go get in the shower." Bo ran her hand softly down Alexie's back before kissing the top of his head and kissing the side of Kenzi's in her departure.

"Bo?" Kenzi's tentativeness caused her to turn around before she ascended the stairs.

"Yeah?" Bo saw her best friend smile at her and just waited for the sarcastic comment. She loved this girl.

"While we're out, can we stop by The Rib Shack? I do want my baby back ribs. I am crazy hungry. Mama needs her meat."

"Sure that's not how Alexie was conceived?" Bo just laughed as she went back upstairs, feeling lighter after talking to her best friend. She also felt better about her Lauren stuff, too. Looking down at her bare hands, the thought of a ring being placed there, while it was definitely a human thing, made Bo feel like she could actually be completely monogamous. Her grandmother had done it; it was time for her to prove to Lauren that she could, too. She felt happy knowing this was why she wanted the rings. She didn't want to own Lauren; she was the one who wanted to wear the ring to let the world know that she belonged to Lauren.

Lauren had spent the day in the lab, running tests on her blood. She had called Trick on her way to the farm, hoping that he would have some more answers on why Bo was acting so baby crazy. She was worried something was wrong with her that she wasn't pregnant, despite her highly experimental succubus-blocking birth control. She wanted to stop taking the injections just to see if there was something wrong with her, but she was not sure she was ready to find out.

Trick reminded her that it has never been documented about the outcome for a hybrid/fae baby. He had called the idea of them having a baby a potential nightmare and not a blessing. Lauren was a little bothered by his response. She couldn't think of her and Bo's potential children as anything but a blessing.

Could she be sterile as a hybrid? The thought never really registered, and she didn't think much about it. Michael's semen had been extremely virile. Her own eggs seemed to be fine. There was nothing that could possibly trigger the doctor in her to worry. She had no basis for her birth control injections. Could she be making herself sterile by taking them? Were they working too well? She had accidentally made a de-faeizing weapon when she had just tried to give Aoife a little of her humanity back. Could Lauren be ruining their chances at making babies? Could the injections be changing her pheromones and Bo was reacting to that?

She did want kids, eventually, and she wanted kids with Bo. Sure, she wasn't 100% positive she was ready for them, but she wouldn't be upset if she did get pregnant. Was anybody ever really 100% ready for something as life changing as a baby? Despite her girlfriend's insecurities on the topic, Bo would be a great mother and partner to raise children with.

She decided to stop taking the injections. Not until she knew more about the formula. She couldn't hold off on sex with Bo, she didn't want to, but she surely could convince Bo not to swap energy. The succubus could still feed on her and not get her pregnant; she just couldn't give her energy back. The question was: would Bo be able to control her primal instincts? After last night, Lauren wasn't sure, but she had to weigh her options.

As she examined her blood sample, she saw the familiar blue sparks comingled with her own blood. She smiled, thinking about Bo, but then she remembered something from her previous cases. The patients who had blood fever had a similar spark; only, it wasn't blue. It was a violent black spark. While different colors, the reactions were the same. This couldn't be a coincidence.

There had been no common denominator with those infected. It seemed to infect anyone, male or female, who physically appeared between the ages of 20 to 50, and it only seemed to affect fae. Is that why her sparks were blue instead of black? Her blood was human, and it had only started changing like that after Bo had fed from her. Could Bo have this fever and pass it on to her? Was that even possible?

Lauren gripped the pendant dangling from her neck, as she continued to stare off into the empty space in her lab. Her muscles were no longer sore, and her bruises and bite marks were healing. She could admit now that angry sex with Bo was still amazing sex, despite the pain and consequences. The release of her anger and frustration was exactly what she needed, but she didn't want that to become a common occurrence. Honestly, she didn't want that to happen ever again, but the doctor in her rationalized that Bo wasn't herself. Bo's defeated acknowledgement that something was wrong rang in Lauren's memories. It was good to know that Bo was finally taking her warnings seriously and understood this fact completely.

She planned on calling Bo later tonight, already missing the sound of her voice. Maybe it had been a mistake coming here like this. They needed to talk, about a whole lot more than just the other night. Then again, if she was going to stop taking the injections, maybe being away from Bo until they figured out this primal need thing was a great idea.

Her phone rang, and she picked it up, thinking that Bo had sensed her thoughts. It wasn't an uncommon thing. While they didn't know what each other was thinking exactly, they had been together long enough to know emotional responses and sense proximity.

The silence she was met with on the other line caused her to look at her phone screen. Unknown was calling again. At least whoever it was didn't hang up this time; Lauren could hear them breathing on the other end. It was creepier than the dial and ditch.

"Hello? Who is this?" Lauren could sense that whoever it was choked, ready to say something, before hanging up the phone again. She wanted to throw the damn phone against the wall. She probably would have if she didn't want to make a phone call herself.

The sounds of the automatic doors opening caused her to turn around and smile at her grandmother. Gram had been worried about her and wrapped her into an extra warm hug when she arrived, but Lauren had reassured her that the violent sex and marks were mutual, even if Bo's didn't show because of her healing powers. Lauren wasn't a fan that Bo could be that rough, but she was even less a fan that she could be just as rough. Losing her control of her emotions like that was not something that happened often.

"I just got off the phone with your mother. She tells me you're having dinner together Friday night." Gram walked in and placed a gentle hand on Lauren's arm. The doctor felt instantly relaxed. Thank goodness for Hestians. "Are you sure that's a wise idea with your…marks?"

"It'll be fine, Gram. The most visible ones won't even be noticeable if I wear the right thing, and I can conceal whatever is left on my neck. Bo's good at hickeys, but she's not as good as she thinks." Lauren smiled, even though she hated when her girlfriend marked her neck. "Besides, you know my mother. She's not exactly one for giving the option."

"You don't have to show, though. People have done that to her before." Gram had done that to her before, Lauren knew. Gram and Grumps were sometimes the only ones who would show up to her piano recitals or school plays. Her parents could never be bothered, so they used to pawn her off on her grandparents. Gram had stood up her own daughter on several occasions, trying to show her how it felt for a parent to abandon or pawn off a child. Unfortunately, Gram's lesson never got through to Lauren's mother.

"It sounds silly, but I kind of…want to show Bo off." Lauren had realized this during her lunch time meditation today. She knew that Bo's lineage had to be kept secret, but the succubus was an extremely great catch minus the royal genetics. Even if her parents would probably not think so, Lauren didn't care. She loved Bo and wanted to show her parents that she was capable of being loved as much as Bo loved her.

"Not silly at all, dear." Gram arched an amused eyebrow to coincide with her amused smirk. "If I had known what a wonderful surprise we would get with you, I never would have fought your mother when she volunteered to marry William Lewis."

"She volunteered?" Lauren was surprised, actually. Her parents never acted like they were in love; they were actually forbidden to mate. She had read the contract in their files. She had always wondered why they had four kids anyways. Ever since finding out that her brother and sisters were completely fae, Lauren had wondered why she was allowed to live since she was their only biological child. If the fae hated hybrids so much, why let one stay in a placed political family? Better yet, why did she even exist if her parents weren't allowed to mate? Lauren actually wanted to know the story there. Her parents were both attractive adults sharing a bed. If she had been placed with Bo in the same situation, Lauren knew she couldn't have kept her paws off the forbidden fruit for too long.

"She wanted to make her mark on fae history, and the Ash asked her personally to take on this assignment. Your grandfather and I tried to explain what it meant, but she didn't seem to care. So, she waited for him to come of age. She wouldn't listen to us. We figured she would back out once he was old enough to marry, but she remained adamant in her mission. Honestly, I think she thought he was handsome, which he still is." Gram's smile disappeared, but her rosy cheeks were still relaxed. "It's hard to watch your daughter sign on for a life of misery. No parent wants that, but your mother would just not listen."

"Why let me live, Gram? The fae have shown me nothing but disrespect and neither of them showed me any warmth, so was I a mistake?" Lauren swallowed, feeling the saliva almost choke her. "I don't make sense."

"You make perfect sense, dear. I sensed your greatness the moment I first held you in my arms. No child can make no sense when it is brought out of love. No child, my dear." Gram was telling her something in that cryptic manner she had about her. "Fae. Human. Hybrid. All you need is love."

"Is this where you tell me that story on how you inspired that Beatles song?" Lauren had heard her grandmother tell that story dozens of times. When Gram had told Bo and Kenzi, the two women actually believed her.

"I want you to know that I am leaving the farm to you after my passing. I originally intended on leaving it to Angela's four children since she is the oldest of my own brood and said she didn't want it, but given recent events, you are the only one who will probably outlive me." Gram did not look happy about this, but Lauren definitely understood why. Still, why not give it to her other children or grandchildren? Why give Lauren a controlling share neutral fae property when she wasn't even fae? It couldn't be just because of the lab. Was it because Bo was unaligned? That didn't make sense, though, since she was obviously owned by the Light. "If I didn't know you and your girlfriend loved me, I would think this was your original intention."

"Yeah, who needs that pesky freedom." Lauren felt like she could joke now, but there was no way she would say those words, joking or otherwise, around Lachlan. Honestly, she wasn't sure this was a good topic with her grandmother. Bo still had trouble being in the same room with the woman a year later. Gram had obviously forgiven her girlfriend, but Bo's guilt still kept her away and distant. This made it extremely difficult when they were trying to make negotiations for and renovations to the barn lab.

"Don't misunderstand me. I'm never going to be happy with what Bo did, but I do understand why she did it. There were other ways, and if she had given it more time, she would have eventually found a better solution. You are not incorrect in your assessment that she can be one track minded and fiercely protective when it comes to you." Gram only confirmed what they all suspected. Lauren had made the deal to make sure that the fae did not kill her siblings, particularly Maureen. She was so distraught when she made the deal that she didn't read the fine print; not that she would have understood it at the time. She had accepted her servitude in exchange for her siblings' lives. The wording in her deal stated that she was in service to the Light until her brother and sisters' deaths. When she made the deal, Lauren didn't know they would all live long lives. "I want you happy, Lauren, and I am glad that you have somebody who loves you enough to do whatever it takes to keep you safe. I'm sure Bo's grandfather feels the same way for you."

"Convincing my parents will be more difficult." Lauren thought back to something in Trick's response yesterday on the phone. He did not seem happy with the idea of them having children. "Gram? What do you know about babies created from a hybrid and fae?"

"Plenty. I was a midwife, remember?" Gram was the perfect person to ask questions about babies for that very reason. Even though there had never been a documented case, if a hybrid and fae mated, Maggie White would know. "Are you and Bo seriously considering the baby route?"

"Yes?" Lauren wasn't exactly sure how to respond. It seemed pregnancy and children were never far from their minds. She couldn't help but wonder if this is how straight people thought on a daily basis. When she came out, Lauren never expected this would be a problem for her.

"Alexie will have another baby to play with; well, another baby besides his mother." Gram adored Kenzi. The feeling was definitely mutual; those two had some sort of weird bond themselves. Lauren was conflicted whether to think of Kenzi as her cousin because of how Gram regarded her, or as her sister-in-law because of how Bo regarded her. She was definitely more than just her girlfriend's roommate. "I was certain you were pregnant that last time, but that's not what concerns you. What is on your mind?"

"Well, Bo has been more…" Lauren coughed; her embarrassment of talking to her grandmother about her sex life reminded her of why she hadn't had this conversation yet, but it was way overdue. She needed answers now. Bo needed answers. "You know Bo has been feeding from me regularly?"

"Of course. I know you have been safe, as well, so we can skip that question." Gram smirked, obviously amused at Lauren's sudden embarrassment. She was a doctor, for crying out loud. She could surely talk sex to anybody; anybody but her grandmother, she had long ago discovered. "You and Bo are having a lot of relations, I presume?"

"Yes." Lauren breathed a sigh of relief, trying not to chuckle that her grandmother called what they did "relations"; though, it did make sense. "We definitely relate…a lot. I'm actually more…initiative and needy myself. More than a woman my age, or just me in general, should be. I've never been this…sexual. It's like…the more I have her, the more I want her."

"This is your bond, Lauren. There is nothing to be alarmed about. You simply have exchanged the best parts of yourselves, including your essences." Gram was feeding from her now; Lauren could feel the familiar warmth she always felt in her grandmother's presence. "Bo is a succubus, so there is no doubt she gifted you with some of her more…sexual impulses. You probably gifted her with some of your genetics, as well; more than likely, you exchanged some of your Hestian biology."

"Is that why she has been so…" Lauren wasn't exactly sure how to explain this. She decided against the "beat around the bush" route. She cleared her throat and willed herself to get through this. "When we have sex, and we have sex quite a bit, Bo always forces her energy onto me, as well. She's very aware that exchanging energies is how to get me pregnant, and she has started to deliberately try. Except, it's not Bo herself; it's more like a primal instinct or urge to do it. I'm not sure it's Bo who is in control, but rather the succubus part of her."

"I see." Gram chuckled lowly. "How long have you been bound now?"

"I think almost two years. At least a year and a half." Lauren felt embarrassed that she actually didn't know an exact timeline. She was usually so aware.

"Honey, sit down for a second." Oh, no. This could not be good. Lauren sat down in her panic, hand gripping her necklace again. "Nothing to worry about. You just looked like you were going to pass out. I don't imagine this is an easy conversation to have with your grandmother."

"You have no idea." Lauren released her breath but still rubbed the pendant between her finger and thumb.

"I'm glad that you are. I've been worried." Gram placed a warm hand on Lauren's shoulder as she moved to sit on the stool next to her. "If your Hestian biology translated into Bo, then she will have a sense or need for family. Succubi are generally predatory; plus, Isabeau has Samael and Trick's blood running through her, so if you are bound together and she has this predatory need for family, she will have a primal response to your matings. She will try to get you pregnant until she succeeds and can fulfill her need for children with her mate."

"Oh. That makes sense." Lauren should have come to Gram sooner. "How do we fix this? I mean, do we have to have children? What happens if I can't…have children? What if our children turn out to be real monsters, like the stories make them out to be?"

"Stories, dear." Gram patted Lauren's knee, though she did so more out of amusement than to send warmth. "Yes, having children is one way to stop Bo's primal nature."

"I'm worried about the injections I've been taking. What if they make me not able to ever carry children?" Lauren wondered if the Light Fae's medical insurance covered mental. She suspected she would definitely need it in the future if she didn't already.

"You can carry children, Lauren. I can sense it. Like I mentioned, I thought this last 'scare' was it for you. I could see your aura and sense the life inside of you. Are you sure you weren't pregnant?" Was Gram asking her if she got an abortion without anyone's knowledge? How would Lauren even be able to hide something like that with the company she kept? Gram could sense family, including children. She had been the one who hinted that Kenzi was sick, which caused Lauren to observe that the young girl was pregnant. Dyson could sniff hormones. Bo could sense everything. "No need to be offended, dear. I am not implying anything. I just…I could have sworn you were, and then, one day, you just weren't. If you were pregnant, then Bo would have sensed it, too."

"She has been acting a little crazier than usual. It could be because her primal nature is upset that she cannot get me pregnant." Lauren said this out loud more to the air than to add anything to the conversation. She was just processing.

"One thing I can tell you that will ease your mind?" Gram stood and pulled her into a warm hug again. "When you and Bo have children, they will not be monsters. Do not let those stories scare you, dear. Your children will be magnificent and powerful. More importantly, they will be loved."

"Thanks, Gram." Lauren wrapped her arms tighter around her grandmother and did her own squeezing for a change.

"I left the keys to the car in your bedroom. Just in case you changed your mind and decided to go back home earlier than you planned." Gram knew that she wouldn't, though it was nice to have the option. "Just be careful with your mother. You know how parents, especially Hestians, get overprotective of their brood. I may be upset with Bo for stealing your brother and sisters' fae identities, but your mother is livid. As long as you're aware you're walking into a trap."

"I know, Gram." Lauren did know that it was going to be an issue that would at least be addressed at dinner tomorrow night. However, Lauren also knew that her parents would not make a scene in the restaurant and this would be addressed by her mother in one way or another eventually anyways. This way, at least Lauren felt like she had a bit of an advantage by knowing what to expect. She had a better chance of protecting Bo this way.

If she could somehow convince and show her parents how amazing Bo was, then they may not retaliate as much. Lauren was still paranoid and looking over her shoulder for Hadley and Roger to attack or send assassins. So far nothing, though. That didn't mean it wasn't coming. Even without their fae powers, Lauren felt sorry for everyone involved when it did.
