Author's Note: Well, here we are. The final chapter. I can't believe how fast we got here. Thank you all so much for sticking by my side through this process. For all the reading, for all the faves, and the alerts. It means everything to me. You all are wonderful. This is my last go around with The Breakfast Club and I'm happy this is how it ends. As always, I do not/have not/probably, nor will I ever own the rights to The Breakfast Club that belongs to the estate of John Hughes and NBC Universal. I do own Tabi. Now, for the last time, The Church Girl.

Ch. 10 Born Again.

Eventually, the group got off the floor and Brian turned a record on. Tabi's first non-gospel record she's ever heard! John, Allison, Claire, and Andy began to dance around like they had lost their minds. Meanwhile, Tabi stood off to the side just watching and giggling before the sound of brief coughing came from next to her. She turns to see Brian with his hand out.

"May I have this dance?" He asks with a slight chuckle.

"Yes." Tabi beamed before taking his hand.

They started spinning around and dancing. To Tabi it felt as if they were the only two people in the room. Eventually, they do get pulled apart to go dance with the others. It was the most fun Tabi's ever had. Then the song ends. John goes back to where Vernon took him, and the other's sat on the railing. Waiting for the day to be over.

Claire turned to Brian and Tabi, "You guys wrote your essay, right?" She asks.

"Yeah." Brian nods.

"Mhm. Why?" Tabi asks.

"Well, it's just, I don't think it would be right for us all to write an essay." Claire explains.

Brian and Tabi share a look, "Should we?" Brian questions.

"Why not?" Tabi shrugs before Brian turns back to Claire.

"Okay." Brian accepts before the pair get up. Each of them grabs their essay then they both sit down. It's awkward and quiet as they think of what to say.

"Bri-" Tabi starts to say before he interrupts her.

"Tabi, I'm sorry for how I acted back there when we were talking about your parents. To be honest, I'm not sure how my parents would react to me with you. They'd probably call you a distraction." Brian apologizes.

"No, I'm sorry, Brian. I shouldn't have told Claire that. Especially when -." She cuts herself off, not sure how to tell Brian.

"When what?" Brian asks.

"When… I like you." Tabi finally admits. She's wanted to tell him since the first day she met him. It feels like a weight has been lifted off of her shoulders.

"You do?" Brian gasps.

"Yeah. Since the first day of school when you sat next to me in trig. You said hi and that you liked my sweater then I just… fell. I know my parents are gonna like it, but Brian, I really like you and I would really like to be your girlfriend." Tabi explains as a confused dopey grin comes up on Brian's face.

"I remember that day. Mrs. Shaffer told me we had assigned seats. Somehow, I'm always by Larry, not this time. Imagine my surprise when I see this cute girl. Then you started talking and I hoped you'd never stop. You were so smart and all I wanted was to be around you. I also wanted to be your boyfriend. I still do." Brian confirms.

Tabi smiles warmly and reaches out to grab his hand. "Can I kiss you?" Brian asked.

"Yes." Tabi nods nervously. She and Brian lean in and ever so softly kiss. It doesn't last long but it lasts long enough to send the butterflies in Tabi's stomach into a frenzy. She kissed Brian! Her first kiss!

"Wow." She giggled when they pulled away.

"I know." Brian nods quickly. They share a smile before remembering they have to write the essay.

"We should probably finish." Tabi pointed out.

Brian nods in agreement before he starts studying her essay. It takes ten minutes to write and by the time they were done, the day was over. Just like that, eight hours of fighting, tears, conversations, marijuana, and love. Tabi felt like a new person.

"Wanna walk out together?" Brian asked.

"Sure." Tabi nods.

Brian takes her hand and her backpack then they leave. As they're walking out, they ran into the others. Andy has his arm wrapped around Claire and John's arm was wrapped around Allison's waist. The first person to spot them was Claire.

"Finally!" She exclaimed.

"Look who grew a pair." John cheers.

"Bye kids." Carl calls out to them.

"See you next Saturday." John tells Carl before the group walks out the door.

Tabi turns to them as they're on the steps, "I don't wanna keep y'all waiting but would you like to meet my parents?" She asked.

"Are you sure?" Claire checks.

"You don't think it's too soon?" Andy asks.

"No, I wanted them to know you." Tabi assures.

"Even us?" Allison asks, gesturing between her and John.

"Especially you two." Tabi smiles. It gets quiet for a few minutes before John speaks up.

"The fuck are we waiting for? Let's do this." He shrugs.

Relief flows through Tabi's body before a horn goes off, "They're over there." Tabi points to the Buick. As they're approaching, Tabi feels nervous. Especially as she sees her parent's confused glances.

"Hi mama! Hi daddy!" She greeted them.

"Tabitha, what is this?" The first lady asks.

"This is Claire Standish." Tabi points at Claire.

"Hi!" Claire greets them with a wave.

"Andrew Clarke." Tabi pointed at Andrew.

"Pleased to meet you." Andrew greeted them, holding out his hand for a handshake that didn't get reciprocated.

"Allison Renyolds." Tabi points at Allison, who offers a faint smile.

"And this is John Bender. They're my friends." Tabi points out to John.

She turns back to her parents who are now staring at Brian, "And who is this?" Pastor Hayes asked Tabi.

Tabi grips onto Brian's hand tighter. "This is Brian Johnson. He's, my boyfriend." Tabi broadcasts.

"YOUR WHAT?" The First Lady shouts.

"I think not." Pastor shook his head.

"He's really sweet, nice, he cares about me, he gets good grades. I like him." Tabi explains.

"Tabitha Damaris Hayes, get your narrow behind in this damn car. We will talk when we get home." The First Lady demands.

"Mama-" She's cut off.

"NOW, TABITHA! And do not make me say it again." She commands once more.

Tabi turns to her friends and tells them bye before turning to Brian. "Tabitha Damaris, if you touch that boy, he will be the last thing you touch." Pastor Hayes warned.

Tabi gave Brian's hand another squeeze then got in the car. Immediately, her parents drove off. They yelled at Tabi all the way home, but she didn't care. Today was the best day she ever had.

THE END

A/N: And that's it. Thank you all for reading. Hi! I'm Bambi, and I wrote this story. I've been trying to write a Brian gets the girl for the longest time. It took a year and a half but finally I did it. I'm very proud of the end result. Especially for it being my last Breakfast Club story. I am so fortunate that I got to write a sweet, honest, and full of life character like Tabi. She's taught me a little lesson about staying true to who I am and what makes me unique. I hope she's helped you do the same. Again, thank you for reading. Like I said, this is my last Breakfast Club fic. My other two are Enter the Child Star and The Gossip Around Shermer. Also, if you're a fan of Welcome Back Kotter, I'm currency remixing some old chapters from when I first started. So, check those out. Until then, this is where I leave you. Thank you for the support. I love all of you. Don't you forget about me. Love, Bambi.
