Hello dear readers,

Sorry for not updating sooner.

Here's the second chapter. I hope you will enjoy reading it.

Recap:

Iris Lilith Potter then left England one Saturday. After arriving to the US, she took a cab and arrived in front of a huge house surrounded by a massive parcel of green grass, tall trees. The house was isolated and by the edge of a forest. She made a note to get a car, wincing slightly since she didn't really drive since she got her driving license. She stood in the porch, turned the shiny golden doorknob, and opened the white door. She was greeted first by the sight of her kneazle, Galyna, lounging on the carpet and then by the sight of Kreacher waiting anxiously for her.

She looked around and whispered "Here comes a new adventure…" She then closed the door.

End of recap.

The house was an old three-story manor, restored with a modern touch for Iris' arrival. The ground floor was basic, an open kitchen, a large living room with a fireplace, dining room and a library; all rooms were painted in light colours letting the light setting in nicely. On the first floor, there was the master bedroom, a private bathroom, and a walk-in closet. Next to it, there was an office and Iris' secret room with all her stuff from the Wizarding World. There was a guest room on the same floor with a private bathroom. The last floor consisted in three rooms with two bathroom and an attic. Iris offered one of the room to Kreacher but quickly changed for the attic when the house-elf began mutilating himself, muttering "I don't deserve it, I must be punished.". Kreacher was relieved and over the moon when the witch gave him the attic. Galyna got used to the living room and the garden, she mostly slept on Iris' bed, but she could be seen laying around enjoying the fresh air and the sunshine or the soft velvet couch.

They settled in quite quickly and within a week, they were comfortable in their new home. Iris placed protective charms around the property and runes linked to her just in case she told herself, but she knew she was being paranoid. She contacted the MACUSA and had the floo network installed in the chimney and restricted the access to a few people.

She contacted Hermione and Ron a few times, they were busy preparing for their trip to Australia. Hermione was working at the Ministry in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures trying to set some rights for the house-elves. Ron didn't go back to Hogwarts with Hermione and Iris, but immediately went to the Auror program. He had become an auror a few months after the end of the war. They told Iris, it was not easy to take a leave when working in the Ministry but being the Golden Trio and having the Minister of Magic backing them up helped a lot. They missed each other a lot but they promised to visit her soon.

A week passed and Iris didn't leave the house or the grounds. The first days were hard, she was in new environment and every sound, even the wind woke her up. She always was a light sleeper, but she didn't feel at ease quite yet. She had her holly wand under her pillow and the elder wand on her holster strapped on her arm. Galyna seemed to accommodate herself quite well and began knowing Iris too. She made a habit of hopping onto the bed every time Iris had a nightmare or had trouble sleeping.

One morning though, Iris had had enough, she was isolated sure, but it didn't mean moping around all day waiting for the time to pass. She promised her family to live a real life away from the drama of the Wizarding World.

She put on some comfortable clothes: a simple oversized shirt, black skinny jeans, and white sneakers. She pulled her hair in a high ponytails revealing pierced ears and put on a thin line of eyeliner and mascara which made her emerald eyes pop up. She petted Galyna and went out of the house. A brand-new shiny car was waiting for her, she had gotten her driving license after she graduated to visit Dudley (he was dating a muggle girl named Claire and
Iris didn't want to raise any suspicions) and a car was delivered a few days ago, courtesy of Hermione. She got into the car, a black Tesla and went into town.

Mystic Falls was a typical American city, a city hall, and a town square. Iris parked the car near the Mystic Grill, the first restaurant she saw and went inside to grab a bite.

At the same time

Caroline was trying her best; 'Elena, you owe me, big time!' she thought as she looked at Stefan who sighed impatiently. "Sorry to drag you here, but if I don't eat, I get those kill-innocent-people urges." The blonde vampire said as she stuffed her mouth with food. "Tyler totally has these too by the way" she continued, and it seemed to catch Stefan's attention "Yeah, what else did you say to him?" He asked. It was working for Caroline as the conversation kept on going until she saw the male vampire getting up saying "Another time…" She cut him off and returned to the topic of Tyler.

On another side of the grill, Bonnie Bennet was being introduced to the newly arrived in town Doctor Jonas Martin and his son Luka. They made small talk until the older man asked about relatives in Salem. She replied politely but thought him a bit suspicious. She was glad when Jeremy arrived as she could leave them without being rude.

Bonnie and Jeremy played pool while Caroline was trying to come up with excuses making Stefan loose his patience. Then she looked up at the entrance of the Grill and gasped a little. Stefan turned to see and narrowed his eyes. A young and petite woman with a body to kill for, thought Caroline, entered. A wavy raven haired dressed casually was making her to a table near Caroline and Stefan. "Who is she?" asked Stefan, Caroline followed Iris's movement and replied, "No idea, maybe she is new in town?". She was beautiful thought Caroline as she looked with a little envy in her eyes, even though she knew she herself was good looking as well, but the stranger's eyes were two emerald gems surrounded by thick dark eyelashes, popping out of her face. Those eyes with her black hair and a pale cream skin made the newcomer stunning.

However beautiful she was, coming to Mystic Falls with all their problems with Katherine and Elijah made Caroline and Stefan suspicious. They watched as Iris sat down and ducked their heads down to avoid being noticed. They shared a similar look and waited for the young woman to speak.

Iris sighed as she sat at a table and waited for a waiter or waitress. A cheery teen wearing a black apron walked over her and said smiling "Hi, welcome to the Mystic Grill, what can I get you?" Iris smiled back politely and replied 'Hello, can I get a cheeseburger and some chips to go with it, please?" "Oh, you mean fries, right? You are not from around here?" She laughed at that "What gave me away? The accent or the fact I said chips?" "Both I guess, I will be right up with your order." Iris thanked her and took out her phone. She looked at it in disgust. Of course, she knew how a phone worked, she lived in the muggle world but nowadays, they invented smartphone with apps and all the nonsense that came with it. 'A phone should be used to call and to text, why do they have to complicate everything?' She thought as she studied the piece of electronic. She tapped to see a message from Ron who had learned to use one from Hermione after the war ended two years back.

Hi, mate! How're you doing over there? We arrived in Australia, and we travelled by plane. Bloody Hell, muggles are crazy to have invented that! I much prefer to travel by portkey or floo! Reply soon or better yet, call us when you can. Miss you, mate! Ron

She smiled as she read the text and knew for certain Hermione had written it because she knew her ginger haired friend wasn't yet capable of sending a complete and correct message. Her order arrived and she looked at it in shock. 'How am I supposed to eat everything in there? It's too much.' She thought. She poked the burger wondering how to grab it and how to bite into it.

A tall blonde with bright blue eyes stopped at her table and when Iris looked up, Caroline said "Hi, sorry to bother you but I couldn't help but notice you since you are not from here and I wanted to introduce myself." She extended her hand and said "Hi, I'm Caroline."

"Hi Caroline, my name is Iris, it's a pleasure to meet you." Iris replied shaking the blonde's hand. "Oh! It's nice to meet you too. You are so cute, and I love your accent!" Caroline replied cheerfully before sitting down at the table "You should squash it down to make it easier to eat." She continued.

Iris did as told and took a bite of her meal. She lifted her eyes to look at Caroline and asked, "May I help you?"; Caroline shook her head and said "No, sorry, it's just that it's a small town and everyone know one another so I hoped to befriend you. Maybe you will go to school here?"

Iris responded negatively and said "No, I don't go to school, I graduated a while ago." "Hmm, you seem so young and why have you decided to move here?" She questioned. "Oh, nothing much, I needed a change of scenery and Mystic Falls seemed perfect." Iris said as she stopped eating feeling full. "Listen, I've got to go but see you around? It was nice meeting you." She said getting up from her chair. She deposed a couple of bills to pay and was about to leave when Caroline grabbed her wrist "Wait, can we exchange number? You could meet my friend."

Iris thought about it and remembered something Emma Diggory said to her "Live your life and try to meet new people. I think it will help you my dear.". So, she nodded at Caroline and gave her phone number "Sure, call me when you want." Then she left the restaurant to go back to her house.

Stefan, who was waiting at their table, walked over to Caroline, and asked, "Did you get any information?" She sighed a little and replied "Not much, she is English that's for sure, but she didn't say much. After all, we just met, but she seemed nice and I don't know why I got a good feeling like my instinct told me to trust her, you know?" Stefan looked at the young woman incredulously and said "Really? You got that from a ten-minute conversation?" "Hmm… I don't know, she made me feel comfortable and her blood smelled nice, but it didn't make want to eat her. Anyway, I told her I wanted to invite her to meet my friends so I will introduce you I guess." Stefan nodded and changed the subject "Well, that's settled. Now, will you tell me where Elena is? If I am your friend like you said, you will tell me, right?"

Caroline ill-at-ease for a moment and replied "Of course, you are my friend but Elena's my friend too…" Stefan got up at that and left the Grill.

After Iris left, she went to get some groceries and as she was on the animal's stuff aisle, she got stuck trying to get some cat food from a high shelf she couldn't reach. "Oh, come on…" She groaned, then she felt a warm body near her and an arm over her reaching for the food. "Here you go?" He said smiling down at her. She smiled back and thanked him, "No worries" he said "I couldn't leave you trying to reach it when I knew I could help. I am Alaric Saltzman by the way." "Thank you, I am Iris Potter, it's nice to meet you." They continued shopping for groceries together as the spoke to one another "So you moved all the way from England to here?" He asked, "Yeah, I needed to leave for a while, but it's okay, I have contact with my family and my friends all the time." "That's great, I hope you will like it here." They said their goodbyes after paying.

'Well, I sure met a lot of people today… A sweet and nice vampire and a schoolteacher. Maybe this town isn't as ordinary as it seems. Best not to get into this…' She thought as she went home. She greeted Galyna with a rub behind her ears and gave a new pillow and comforter to Kreacher who cried his thanks to his mistress.

That night, Bonnie trashed in her sleep. She was dreaming and sweat drops appeared on her forehead.

The dream

She was in the forest near the old church and the tomb, it was dark, the moon was barely visible. Suddenly, she heard whispers calling her name. Bonnie looked around scared, the whispers continued and told her to go to the tomb. The wind pushed her toward there, so she followed the whispers as they got louder. She went inside and saw a figure in the shadows. The torches lit up and a familiar face was revealed.

"Grams?" She asked shocked, she ran to the older witch and hugged her. Sheila Bennet hugged her granddaughter back and said "Bonnie, we don't have much time. The ancestors helped reach you."

"Why?" She asked as she stepped back. "You need to find Iris, Bonnie." She said. "Who is Iris, Grams?" A dark shadow passed through them like a black gust of wind. "We don't have any more time, Bonnie. They have found me. Find Iris, you need her help." Sheila said as she began disappearing.

"Wait, Grams, don't go! How do I find her and who is she?" Bonnie screamed as the wind got stronger and pushed her grandmother further away from.

End of the dream

Bonnie woke up startled and panting. "Grams, who is Iris…?"
