Authors Note: Hellooo everyone! Here with another chapter! This one took a while since a lot of real life came up but I finally finished it! Please like and review if you enjoy!
Rain poured down on an old bridge, droplets beating against the aged concrete. Small splashes of water hit the floor, merging into a dark puddle next to two pairs of worn sneakers in the darkness.
"Are you feeling better now?" A voice whispered in concern. The howling of the storm continues in the background, akin to that of a raging waterfall.
"..." but the boy did not respond.
"Oh, no you're burning up," The voice echoed under the bridge. A soft hand placed itself onto the boy's forehead. Intense heat radiated from burning skin, cold sweat dripped down with wet, clotting clumps of hair stuck in between.
"Osha, osha?"
"I don't know, Oshawott, I don't know if he'll be ok…" Sorrow filled the voice, distorting its tone in the rain. The boy weakly gazed at the source of the voice, but he could not make out its face. Foggy memories brought on by a heavy fever clouded his mind in a state of confusion. Just who was next to him and Oshawott? Someone familiar, someone he could not forget, yet nothing came to mind.
"Sleep tight, Black?"
Waking up to a light drizzle in the early morning, Black's eyes scanned the tranquil space. Pristine white walls lined the building, a tall glass window to his left, and a worn bench to his right. His muscles ached from top to bottom, remaining in a seated position for the past few hours, upon falling asleep from keeping a close watch on his friend's hospital rooms. Shifting his body weight a bit in his seat, he felt something brush against him, looking down he noticed a white enveloped letter.
"Hm?"
Tearing it open carefully, a shining feather filled with all the colors of the world glowed from within, along with a neatly folded letter. Once again, Black was reminded of the sacred fire from before, its divine light calming his mind. Just as this item had entranced him, he was caught off guard from a dark shadow that swiped the letter out of his hand. Shooting from his seat, he threw out Oshawott, who shot a stream of water at the thief. Hitting the floor mere inches away from it, a Purrloin waved its tail with the letter still attached, taunting the boy to go after it. Black sprinted to catch up to the tiny feline, forcing it to dash straight down the hall and into a stairwell, where it jumped out a window. Chasing after it, through the corridors of the sleepy hospital, Black landed on the last flight of stairs just in time to see the purple cat taunt him from the outside the window, jumping down from floor to floor of each balcony of the building. Once it made its effortless landing, it waved its paw in the air, as if asking the boy if he could catch up, however, that was a mistake it would look to regret.
Black scooped up Oshawott, climbing out of the fifth floor window, leaping down to the edge of the closest balcony, using its ledge to propel himself further into the air by digging his heel into the concrete in a springing motion. Going airborne, flying free as a bird, he begin to fall towards the earth, his body quickly accelerating due to the force of gravity when a pillar of water blasted the ground, slowing the momentum just enough where he crashes into the ground with his feet, sending a powerful shockwave, almost blasting the mortified Purrloin flying.
"EEkkkkkk!" The cat squealed, its fur rose up at the predator-like thing eyeing it with hungry eyes, Oshawott in hand. Beating its four paws against the ground frantically, it barely made its escape in time, where it screamed down a tunnel, brushing past several abandoned buildings with the monster behind it in hot pursuit. Leaping across several trash cans and down another set of stairs, it quickly leapt into the hands of its master, shivering non-stop.
"Oshawott, hydro pump!" A torrent of raging water smashed through the walls of a building, revealing a livid trainer and his Pokemon, strolling through the dust that had been kicked up from the destruction. Looking to find the little thief, Black emerged from the tunnel, seeing a human holding the Purrloin, the letter being read by the former.
"This feather, who does it originally belong to?" The man held the rainbow wing in the air, mesmerized by its pure light.
"That's none of your business" another powerful torrent of water rocketed through the air, heading straight towards the figure hugging the Purrloin, but was blocked just in time by a sturdy concrete pillar. Swinging the mammoth object in the air, a Conkeldurr came to the rescue of the two vulnerable souls.
"Thank you…" The man smiled, relaxing his body posture. A single drop of sweat ran down his face.
"Conkel! Conkeldurr!" The construction Pokemon gave a confident smirk, turning back to battle the fools standing on the other side. Along with its arrival, Scraggy and Pidove also provided their aid.
Black aimed his Pokedex at the new Pokemon, reading the information presented, gauging the creature's strengths. The man watched on the other side, ready to counter with his rag-tag group. Tapping at his Pokedex's screen to move the tutor section, the boy mumbled something under breath to his Pokemon who bumped its paws together. Soon, an icy chill brushed past Conkeldurr, followed by a howling wind mixed with a tidal wave of snow, threatening to freeze it in place, but this was just the beginning. Cloning itself several times using double team, Oshawott ran at the group, slashing at the weakened Pidove who dropped from the cold.
"Pidove!" The man cried out, raising his hand in the air to ask Conkeldurr to shield them from the oncoming blizzard that only intensified with its stone pillars while Purrloin and Scraggy batted through the Oshawott clones. The construction Pokemon shielded its fallen comrade from the frost, until it felt a sickening thud come from one of its concrete blocks, fighting the urge to stop it from advancing, it dug its heels into the ground, meeting a steel pipe and dark hazel eyes as Black landed another blow, attempting to crack its weapons. Shocked at the sight of a human attempting to fight it, it loosened its stance just in time for the trainer to get an opening to dash through. Rushing past the large Pokemon, Black went for a horizontal swing, attempting to hit the man in his abdomen, a straight liver shot would take him out. Yet, just when the boy was about to finish, a shimmering blade of silver flashed before his eyes as a sword deflected the blow just in time.
"I won't let you hurt my friends anymore, you fiend!" Aiming the blade straight Black's head, the man sprung into action, followed by the heavy charge of Conkeldurr from behind, readying to tackle its enemies into the ground. However, Oshawott reacted just in time by launching another hydropump that blasted the large Pokemom off course, causing it to land on Scraggy who just so happened to be in its way. Chilly water clung onto Conkeldurr's body, freezing it in place from the onslaught of the biting blizzard, ice quickly accumulating on its muscles.
Cling!
"Friends? You mean like how the one who threw that flash bomb at us in that alleyway?" Black growled, blocking a blow from the man with a side swipe, frustrating the man.
"What are you talking about?! These Pokemon would never do such a thing!" Launching a flurry of eye blinding strikes, the man swung his blade in an elegant manner, matching Black blow for blow, block for block. He threw his sword upwards, aiming for a downwards slash when Black blocked with his pipe, laying it horizontally against the vertical blade. Just then, Purrloin caught Black from behind, its claws lighting up a bright white, slashing at the boy's exposed neck, causing the boy to duck at the surprise attack.
"You've been stalking me for days now. You think I didn't notice?" Black was caught between a rock and a hard place, behind him was an enemy Pokemon and before him was a man who was now pressing his sword down on him while he's in a semi crouched position, still with his steel pipe blocking the deadly steel blade.
"Oshawott! Osha Osha!" The man reacted to the Pokemon's cries, catching him off guard and halting the ongoing chaos.
"Conkeldurr!" The construction Pokemon had the small otter in a deadlock, pressing one of its pillars against its razor shell, threatening to crush it at any moment. Scraggy was barely holding on, coming to bash the tiny starter with a fierce headbutt that rattled it from its position.
"What..?"
"Oshawott!" The little otter Pokemon cried it with the concrete pillar coming down, its weight slamming into the starter. Yet, something extraordinary happened next. White light, shimmering in the cold of the morning sun, its rays burning the eyes of its attackers, causing them to back away at its majesty. Suddenly, two blades emerged from the figure, as it zoomed at Conkeldurr, slicing, breaking, dicing the large Pokemon who couldn't keep up with its extreme speed and precision. Swinging upwards for an uppercut here, cutting through the pillars with a single shell there, it landed on the other side just in time to see the big Pokemon collapse onto the floor, a loud, ear shattering thud.
"Dewott!" It shouted victoriously, raising its two shells in the air, and then at the man.
"Is that so?" The man loosened his sword grip, leaving Black confused.
"Dew, Dew, Dewott!"
"I see…" Standing, the man put his sword away, back in its sheath, "Your Pokemon may have just saved your life, Black." the man glared at the boy who remained on guard.
"You can understand my Dewott's calls?"
"I would have disposed of you, otherwise." flowing green hair and sorrowful eyes gave the man an otherworldly aura. The way he composed himself implying that he was someone of high stature.
"Dewott told me many violent things. That it would make sure I feel the pain of a thousand suns if I ever hurt its…best friend." spoken in monotone, the mysterious man held no malice nor fear in his tone. In fact, it sounded like he was casually reading off a breakfast menu rather than translating the vague threats of a distraught Pokemon.
"..."
"Shocked are you? As was I. You are the first trainer I've met to have a Pokemon so vehemently devoted to a human's life." Black raised an eyebrow, holding the pipe in a defensive position. "So, tell me, why is it that Dewott likes you so much, Black? It even said, it would die for you." Closing on the space between the two, the man's anger gradually grew, as he spat the last few words out like they were hot pieces of charcoal.
"Easy…" Black picked his words carefully, eyes darting from one area to another, surveying his situation, "Because we both have a promise to fulfill!" Swiping his right leg on the ground in a low horizontal motion, he managed to catch the man off guard for him to fall backwards, reaching a hand into his pocket, Blacked managed to yank out the letter before sprinting past him and running down the tunnel with his Dewott. Frantic footsteps echoed through the abandoned concrete jungle, speeding past several buildings before they were able to make it back to a populated section of town. Looking to see if they were being pursued, Black hid in a bush with his Pokeom by his side. And just as he thought, he saw a green haired figure with all his Pokemon in tow.
"I know you're hiding behind those shrubs, Black. The forest Pokemon have all been talking about it. How about you lend them an ear?"
Black clenched his teeth, his fists bone white at being exposed from his hiding spot, but he did not make a move. Above him, a happy family of Sewaddle chirped away.
"Hmmm, they say your Dewott looks pretty exhausted, how about you take it to a Pokemon center?" Black saw the man tilt his head in curiosity at what he was hearing, "And they say your two human friends are fully awake, wondering where you've gone."
"Tch!"
"How about this? We can have a nice chat next time we meet. I'd sure like to know more about your story. Let me hear the voices of your Pokemon, again. Alright?"
And with that, the man's presence vanished, not akin to a ghost's. His ominous aura disappearing from the surrounding air, finally letting Black emerge from his hiding spot, pale.
Just who was that freak?!
Unfolding the neatly placed letter, Black scanned through its contents.
Heya Black!
It's me, Gold. Sorry to leave you so suddenly, but I had some business to take care of. Anyways, here's a little item that might help you along the way. You see, the Rainbow wing has some special properties that grants its holders a few protections, especially against stuff like baddie, evil mental attacks. It won't be full proof but it's helped me a lot in the past. Always, have it with you and I'm sure it'll help you keep your friends safe next time Team Plasma shows up.
Your friend, Gold
"What are you reading, Black?" Bianca asked, curiously with Cheren following suit. The three were now in the middle of Route 2, seated on a few picnic benches. A few sandwiches were laid out along with an assortment of Pokemon food.
"A letter from Gold. He wished us a safe journey." Black put the paper away, not revealing its true contents.
"I really would have liked to ask him for more battle advice." Cheren sulked, disappointed that the former champion had left early. "A lot has happened these past few days."
"Snivy, Sniv!" Snivy crossed its arms, pouting at Dewott who looked way too proud of itself. Tepig also looked jealous.
"And your Oshawott even evolved into a Dewott while we were out." Cheren observed, aiming his Pokedex at the new form Oshawott took. A Pokedex was a special device given to select trainers to gather data on the Pokemon of a region. Although it was originally strictly used as a research device, it is also capable of showing the movesets of an owned Pokemon to its trainer. As displayed on Black's Pokedex screen, Dewott currently had the moves: blizzard, retaliate, double team, and razor shell. Three of which he had retaught to his Pokemon before the battle with the creep that had stolen his letter. To explain this further, before Black had started his journey, he had stolen several TMs and HMs from certain stores in town and gradually taught them to Oshawott throughout the years. By both leveling and deleting moves, he was able to gather a massive back catalog of forgotten moves ready to be implemented again through the pokedex's digital move tutor program. It was similar to when one would be prompted to select a move to be forgotten when a Pokemon grew stronger. However, as absurd as this trick was, it could only be used on Pokemon he had held for a long time or bonded with him for them to trust him with tinkering their main battle strategies. A new system that came directly from the Paldea region's innovations.
"I had a few battles with the passerby." Black shrugged, "Oshawott got excited and evolved on me."
"Aww that's not fair, I would have loved to have seen that evolution happen." Bianca pouted, "Why did we have to get food poisoning so suddenly…"
"As do I, Bianca." Cheren nodded in agreement, "After that Plasma speech, I felt pretty weak. I'm guessing it was those donuts we had at that one stand."
"Snivy, sniv, snivy!" At being reminded of such a horrid event, Snivy ran up to hug its trainer tightly.
"Hm? Snivy, something wrong?" Cheren couldn't grasp what had sent Pokemon into such a frantic mood.
"Tep, Tepig!" Tepig climbed onto Bianca's shoulder, not wanting to let go.
"They must have been scared when you two wanted to set them free." Black explained, cursing
Team Plasma under his breath.
"Umm…it did seem like a good idea at the time.." Cheren gingerly stroked Snivy's head, refusing to let go. "But now that I look back… I do feel a bit bad." The bespectacled trainer sounded unsure of himself. He couldn't understand why, nor did he want to. At the time, he realized he may never have considered the feelings of his own Pokemon just as Ghetsis had said, but was that really the case? Now that he had time to muse, this strange thought of liberating his Pokemon seemed foreign to him, yet it still persisted in his mind like an alarm bell that never went away. He had yet to realize the contradictions that were flowing through his own thoughts.
"It's alright Tepig, I'm not going to leave you." Bianca was of a similar mindset, "we have still a long journey to go on after all." She raised her hand to high-five the fire type Pokemon.
"Good, then you're both back to normal." Black crossed his arms, a slight frown showing on his face.
"I'll never have those donuts again," Bianca sighed, assuming Black was commenting on their hospitalization.
"So what's our next destination? Striaton City?" Black checked the maps, hiding his frustration. There was no telling what would happen to his friend's mental states if he kept pushing. Gold had warned him as much. This was partly why Interpol had hid the real reasons for their hospitalizations and came up with the food poisoning story. Keep the story simple and not have them think about it too much, was the memo. Otherwise, a breakdown was inevitable with this overwhelming information.
"Yea, the first Gym on our route to the Pokemon League, but before that I would like us to catch some Pokemon first." Cheren pushed up his glasses, returning Snivy to its Pokeball.
"Oh that's right! Professor Juniper did tell us to fill in some Pokedex entries along the way!" Bianca fumbled through her messy bag pulling out her Pokedex. "We've been so busy traveling that I nearly forgot, tee hee!"
"Then how about we separate for now and meet up at this exact spot in three hours?" Cheren looked at his wrist watch.
"Sounds good to me! I wonder what kind of Pokemon are out here on Route 2."
"You in, Black?" Black snapped back to reality, nodding along.
"Hmmm, is there anything over there, Tepig?" Bianca scanned the area in a field full of tall grass. At the suggestion of Cheren, everyone had scattered along the route to find wild Pokemon. Brushing through another empty patch of grass, Bianca grew impatient, seeing the minutes tick by on her smartphone. Two hours had already passed and she had just under an hour left. For some reason, she was sure the other two might have already caught something by now, however, she shook her head to clear her thoughts.
"Tepi!" Tepig jumped off her shoulder, running towards a pink shape that stood out against the green of the grass. Unleashing a wild flurry of embers, it jolted the wild Pokemon, causing it to run out into the open. Yet, what Tepig didn't expect was it charging at the small pig, throwing a powerful punch that sent it back flying.
"Tepig! Are you alright?!" Bianca caught up to her starter, who sprung back up. Aiming her Pokedex at the feral pink blob, she realized she had countered an irate Audino who was already running towards them. "Oh! Uh, Tepig, try a flame wheel!" Rolling into a ball of flames, scorching the ground below, Tepig smashed into the angry Pokemon who fell backwards, being battered by the heat. But it didn't give up however, the attack only intensifying its anger. Clasping its two paws at the ball of fire, the Audino gripped it with all its might, throwing it back at Bianca, causing her to run out of the way from an oncoming fireball.
"Dino!" At getting rid of Tepig, Audino ran towards Bianca who braced herself when another shape tackled the pink blob to the side.
"Heroof, herrooof!" A dog-like creature smashed into the Audino, throwing it into a nearby tree. Upon landing, it shot back up for another round, when it saw Tepig recover, also coming back to continue the fight. Seeing it was outnumbered, the Audino decided to flee into a patch of tall grass.
"Wow, hello there little guy, thanks for helping me back there!" Bianca came up to a wild Herdier who happily padded up to her, licking her face.
"Heroof! Heroof!" Jumping up and down the dog Pokemon wagged its tail back and forth. It's nose tapped on Tepig's Pokemon in Bianca's bag as it looked back and forth between the starter and its trainer.
"Does this mean you want to come with me?" the blonde picked out an empty ball, seeing the wild Pokemon nod, she gently tipped the Pokeball, letting Herdier go inside.
Three hours had officially passed, and the day was coming to an end. The sunset on Route 2 as trainers started to set up their tents. Bianca waited with her Tepig and new companion by her side.
"Wonder what's taking the two so long…" She mused, finishing the last bit of her sandwich. Twenty minutes passed the deadline, and neither of the boys had shown up. "It couldn't be could it?" Thinking back to that wild Audino, maybe her two friends weren't so lucky…that was when she saw someone emerge from a line of trees. Clothes soaked and hair a mess, Cheren stepped out into the open with a blue jellyfish like creature atop his head and Snivy by his side.
"Cheren?! Are you ok?" Cheren looked up to see Bianca come over with a blanket, of which he gladly accepted.
"Thanks Bianca. This one was a handful." Sighing in defeat, no matter what he tried, he couldn't get that damn jellyfish off his head. Bianca would later find out the Pokemon in question was a male Frillish that just so happened to drag Cheren into the water during a fishing battle.
"Frilllllllish" Ghostly and translucent, the Frillish greeted by waving a tentacle at its new friends.
"Have you tried returning it to its Pokeball?" Bianca questioned.
"It's still wild.." Cheren mumbled, embarrassed.
"Oh.."
"Snivy, Sni" Snivy shrugged.
Just as the group was about to settle down, Dewott jumped out of the thicket with Black holding a pink pill bug like Pokemon. Parts of his arms embedded with poisoned needles.
"" Black?! "" Both trainers called out, hurrying to aid their friend who collapsed to the ground. Quickly picking away any remaining needles, Bianca cleaned the wounds while Cheren grabbed an antidote from his bag.
"What were you doing to get hurt like this?!" Cheren, sprayed the affected areas, furious.
"I was protecting Dewott." Black replied nonchalantly, "Forgot to carry an antidote." He sat up, looking no worse for wear, the poison was already wearing off.
"Are you insane?!"
"Finally…we made it…after three days of suffering in the wild." Cheren looked like he was able to cry sweet tears of joy. It seemed like forever since he's seen civilization and he was glad they were out of the hell called Route 2. Ever since the small Pokemon catching contest they held, it had been one disaster after another.
"You got that Frillish off your head, huh?" Black said with a straight face, while Bianca burst out in laughter.
"Hahahahaa! I can't believe it took that long for you to catch something stuck to your head!" Looking back, it took the combined might of Snivy, Black's new Venipede, and Herdier to scare the ghost jelly off, just enough time for Cheren to throw a Pokeball at it. It took a few tries but it worked eventually.
"Mmmmm, I really don't want to talk about it…" Pinching his forehead in embarrassment, Cheren's face reddened. As much as it was great that he caught a dual typed monster, the suffering alone was not welcome!
"So this is Striaton City…" Black craned his head upwards to see rows and rows of tall buildings dotted around the place. A stream of kids in school uniforms passed by, each with their gear and Pokemon. Busy streets lined with even more busy people followed, with trainers arriving at the same time as the three friends flooding into the city's entrance gate.
"We're here! We're here! Let's go challenge that Gym!' A lass called out to her friends, running past Black. Several girls held onto their backpacks, racing their friend.
"Yoooo, isn't this place famous for that five star restaurant?" Another group, this time led by an older male who also walked ahead. Trailing him were ten or more so people who appeared to be tourists, "Let's all grab a bus to see what it's like!"
"Hell yea! I'm starving!"
"Looks like everyone who's entering is all fired up by the sight of that Gym challenge." Cheren smirked, feeling an intense rush of excitement himself.
"We should scope the battles beforehand to see how the leaders operate." Black suggested, pointing to a street that would lead the three straight to the city center. The previous group from before had gotten on a bus, cutting through the bustling traffic of people.
"Great idea, I've never seen a Pro level trainer battle, live!" Bianca cheered, excited. The small town they were from never really housed much in battling talent after all.
Traversing several streets, crossing traffic, going through numerous residential apartment buildings, the three finally arrived at the center where a large crowd gathered at the entrance of a tall restaurant building. Fancy decor plated its outside, accompanied by a beautiful red carpet leading inside, the business had a line that stretched across as far as the eye could see.
"Oh come on, this is just too much!" Bianca sulked, seemingly disappointed at the infinite wait time they would have to endure for the Gym challenge. Trainers from every corner of Unova had come to tackle the famous Gym challenge, ranging from ace to novice. Ironically, due to the congested traffic, food trucks with vendors selling cheap refreshments lined the streets. People were buying bottles of water in droves, waiting in the hot summer heat.
"We can always make an online appointment, these walk-ins lines are ridiculous." Cheren checked his phone, but the Gym's appointments were already backed up to another month's worth of waiting. Despite the fierce competition raging on to get inside, this was the nature of the lower level Gyms. The Gyms higher up in the food chain usually had fewer challengers and trainers who had more badges were given better treatment due to Pokemon league registration deadlines. In short, the long lines were a product of the low bar of entry and certain trainers receiving priorities over others.
"Looks like we won't be getting in for a while…" Bianca grumbled, "No badges, means no special treatment."
Black tapped the shoulders of the other two, "I have an idea," he pointed to a familiar redhead exiting a parked car from a nearby street with two aids behind him.
"Black?" Silver took off his shades, seeing three figures hurry to his car.
"Silver, are you going into that Gym?" Black asked straight, catching the redhead off guard, but he smirked.
"Using my fame to get a free ticket inside are you?" Silver waved for his aids to go park the car, dismissing any of their complaints at being stopped by a few random kids.
"Black, it's pretty impolite to ask some-" Cheren was cut off.
"It's alright, I've been wanting to judge your battle capabilities anyways. Follow me." Silver was greeted by two waiters at the door, letting the three behind him cut through the monstrous line. Closing the door to the main entrance, the group was greeted by a grand hall with either side filled with busy tables, being attended to by hundreds of staff. The smells of warm food wafted through the air, simulating the sense. Complex spices, foreign delicious, local specialities all decorated the plates of the people who slowly enjoyed their food. Along with this, bright Tv screens scattered throughout the eatery, displaying the latest Pokemon battles taking place. As battling was a national pastime, paying to dine at a Pokemon Gym was considered extra special as one could watch the events live. Coming up to a raised stage where hundreds of spectators gathered to watch, Silver entered the area.
"Greetings, challenger! Now who might you be? Your face seems to be plastered everywhere I go!" The Gym Leader jokes, earning some laughter from the crowd. Cilan, a man dressed in an iconic waiter outfit, welcomed his newest challenger.
"Silver of Blackthorn City, Johto region!" The movie star announced curtly. Upon hearing his name, the crowd went into an uproar.
"Is that really him!?"
"It's Silver! Holy shit, he really did come to Unova!"
"Wonder how many badges he has, he's supposed to be a pro!"
Black sat in an empty VIP section with Cheren and Bianca at a table, watching the exchange.
Cilan smiled, "Now Silver, since you received your starter from a registered Professor, can you show us what type your Pokemon is?" Silver released his Feraligatr for all the world to see, it roared at the sight of the Gym leader. This pumped up the spectators even more.
"I see, so it's a water type." Cress emerged from behind Cilan.
"Which means you'll be fighting Cilan and his Simisage in a one on one showdown!" Chili shot out from the shadows with a microphone, energizing the surrounding crowd, as Cilan sent out his ace.
Cheers erupted at the appearance of the large green monkey, giving a thumbs up to its loyal following in the audience.
"Goooooo Silver!" One girl shouted, but her friend cheered on the Gym Leaders instead.
"Simisage is the best!" A table of young children in school uniforms countered, they had idolized the Pokemon for its kindness in helping them learn battling after class. The Striaton city Gym made its mission to help foster the next generation of trainers, thus having a type matchup theme.
"Hmp! The people are getting on my nerves, let's finish this Feraligatr!" Silver waved, sending his Pokemon rampaging into the arena, where Simisage swung its tail to lock it in place, its thorny green tail digging into the blue alligator's skin.
"I wouldn't get cocky if I were you." Cilan warned, commanding Simisage to drop Feraligatr to the floor in an effortless grass knot attack. Trapping it under a layer of weeds. However, no one expected what happened next. "This move was especially created for heavy hitters-"
"Dragon pulse."
Feraligatr tugged against the grass knot, pulling Simisage towards it while it tried to resist, its tail caught by its opponent. Digging its heel into the floor, it struggled against its heavy opponent who swiftly yanked the grass monkey by the tail, forcing it closer and closer to its mouth where it charged up a bright purple energy. Sensing the danger, it tried to launch a frantic seed bomb, however, it was too late.
"Simisage!" Cilan called out, seconds before being blinded by a ravaging light that engulfed the entire battlefield, a cry of defeat could be heard, followed by the tumbling frame of Simisage flying through the air, rolling towards the edges of the arena, then hitting to the ground.
"Annnnnnddd it's over!" A loud announcement from Chili cut through the stunned silence of the room. Disbelief still present on the attendees faces.
"Impossible, it ended that quick…" Cheren's eyes locked onto the two figures on stage. Silver, already exiting the stage.
"I've never seen that Pokemon before." Bianca followed up, wondering what type of starter Feraligtar was.
"Usually, it can't learn dragon pulse on its own." Black mumbled to no one in particular. He caught the attention of his friends, thankfully he was interrupted. Silver approached with the three gym leaders in tow to their VIP table.
"Now that my business is settled, it's time you three show me if I made the right decision." Amusingly, the triplets behind the movie star held smug grins, as if sending a personal challenge.
"As per our agreement, please proceed to the arena at once." Cilan politely gestured to the stage, now all eyes were on the three young trainers.
"Shouldn't we get a chance to complete the Gym puzzle first? This all seems a bit too rushed." Being caught off guard, Cheren expected to at least be given some time to prepare, but that was not the case.
"Yes, if we were under normal operations, but you three did just cut the line by a few hundred people." Cress pointed to the unhappy trainers still waiting to register near the entrance.
"Oh! I guess we did do that" Bianca giggled, embarrassed.
"You guys got guts, I'll give you that. So how do we finish this all at once? There's three of us and three of you, right?" Chili suggested, a big smile on his face.
"So you want a three on three huh?" Black nodded, "Yea, we can do that."
"Don't just go agreeing to random suggestion without asking us-"
"I don't mind a triple battle." Bianca shrugged.
"Good, I have a movie shoot in the next few hours, so finish it in under thirty minutes, well you?"
Authors: So how was that chapter? What Gold wrote in that letter...isn't 100% true and he didn't give it to Black for no reason.
Just like Black, N carries a weapon with him, a sword mostly for self defense...seeing how dangrous Black is he's pretty reasonable. When I was writing this fights, I actually no idea who would win but guess N took the victory despite Black playing dirty.
As for Silver, he's got his own reasons for challenging the Unova Gyms. As you'll notice, Black commented on the Dragon Pulse situation and Silver's current residence is in Blackthorn City. Since the events of HGSS, he's been doing his own thing and while Gold was off traveling around the world? Meeting met a certain someone from the Dragon Tribe. Once again, please review and fav if you're enjoying the ride...it's gonna get nasty in the later parts haha...
