A/N: OKAY guys I'm really really sorry for the wait. My life is one big ball of shit right now, no joke. BUT today is the Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties with a surprise that a LOT of people have been asking for. So PLEASE PLEASE review. It would make my day, swear to god.
"Emily! Your friends are arriving." Ian hollered up the stairs.
Tonight was his and Emily's bachelor and bachelorette parties. Well, parties was maybe not the right word...He was just going out with Matt and Kevin, he really had no idea where they were going. Emily, Izzy, Misty, and Garcia were going out for dinner and drinks, he'd heard whispers amongst Izzy and Misty of a karaoke bar. That, he'd laughed, he would pay to see he'd told them. He just couldn't picture Emily up there in front of people singing. He'd heard her sing in the shower, she wasn't terrible, he just didn't picture that as her "scene".
"Its not my mother is it?" Emily said hurriedly brushing her hair as she rushed down the stairs.
"No its Garcia and... thats not Kevin." Ian said confusedly as they watched the two visitors climb out of the car.
"It's Reid!" Emily squeed excitedly. "What's he doing here? Garcia never mentioned he was coming. I just assumed she would bring Kevin!" Emily said, rushing to open the door.
Ian sighed heavily, it had been a long time since he'd seen Agent Spencer Reid and while they werent best friends or anything, at least Reid wasn't actively hunting him... not that he'd heard anyways.
He watched behind Emily as she ran onto the patio hugging the pair excitedly making girly screaming noises along with Garcia. He smiled, he was happy when she was happy. And after the fiasco of the break in it had been kind of hard to get back into the swing of things and pretending that the cops had come and taken the bodies after Declan had fallen asleep so that he would never find out what they had done. So, all in all he was just glad that she was putting on a smile for the first time in days.
"Garcia, you didn't tell me you were bringing such a handsome date!" Emily teased. "Where's Kevin?"
Garcia sighed, "We're umm, spending some much needed time apart... And I wouldn't dare show up to your wedding empty handed." She said dismissively.
"Well, alright, but don't think we are done discussing this Missy, three cocktails into tonight and I expect full disclosure." Emily said in mock seriousness. She hugged Reid again, "Spence I'm so glad you came! Although now you're gonna have to share a bed with Garcia here and she kicks, so you've been warned." She teased.
"Oh I know. The hotel we stopped at last night was accidentally the honeymoon suite with no fold out couch and Garcia refused to let me sleep on the floor." Reid said smirking.
"Well, lets bring your stuff in, You and Garcia are gonna be in Declan's room and my mother will be in the twins-Lauren's room tomorrow." Emily said her face paling slightly at her mistake.
"Aww honey," Garcia said rubbing her arm encouragingly. Emily put her best face on and Ian saw the glint of sadness and he felt her pain. It had taken all of her courage to pack up Landen's toys and clothes and re-do the room for Lauren and he'd been very proud of her for taking that step on her own. He'd learned his lesson in trying to push her into doing things before she was ready.
After Garcia and Reid had gotten settled in, they were all gathered in the kitchen discussing tonights activities. Declan had been deemed old enough to baby sit for one night, and the girls were chattering excitedly.
"Well Reid, I know Kevin was planning on going out with Ian and Matt tonight so you're more than welcome to tag along with the boys," Emily said.
"Oh, no I wouldn't want to impose," Reid said hurriedly. "I'll just hang with Declan and Lauren."
"No, Spencer I insist." Ian said. He wasn't all that thrilled but, if it made Emily happy he was in full support and he didn't want the weekend to be awkward for anyone. This marriage was doomed as it was.
"Are you...sure?" Reid asked hesitantly. "It's really no big deal for me to stay with the kids."
"Nonsense. You'll be fine. We're just probably gonna grab a bite to eat and maybe a drink or two." Ian said, trying to sound inviting and friendly. Not his best performance, but apparently it worked.
"Alright, if it's really not an imposition."
"Oh great!" Emily cried, clapping. "Alright, well no strippers boys." Emily said warningly. Ian scofffed,
"Love, when was the last time I told you how I felt about strippers?" Ian asked.
"Probably about nine years ago when I saw you shove one off the stage because she was quote "too close for comfort?"
"Well she was!" Ian protested.
"That's kind of her job, Ian. And if you didn't like strippers to begin with why were you even there?" Emily asked incredulously.
"Liam made me." Ian blamed.
"Sure, blame the best friend."
"Always. Deny til you die." Ian teased her. Emily stuck her tongue out at him.
"Alright. Well we'll see you guys later! BEHAVE YOURSELVES!" She called as her and the girls walked out the door.
Ian, Matt, and Spencer stood in the kitchen in a moment of silence, before Matt interjected in disbelief,
"You seriously pushed a stripper off the stage?"
"Alright ladies, this is the Bachelorette party of Ms. Emily- wait what's your maiden name Em?" Izzy said holding a glass in the air to toast Emily.
"Umm," she looked over at Garcia, "Umm, Prentiss." She said quietly. It wasn't that she didn't trust these girls, it was just so ingraned in her to always keep your cover but she figured it was safe enough now.
"To Emily Prentiss soon to be O'Reilly!" Izzy called, clinking glasses in the air.
Emily sipped on her cranberry and vodka slowly. The other girls were downing the last of theirs and ordering refills. "Oh! Shots! We need shots!" Garcia squealed excitedly.
"Oh no, not for me." Emily said, shaking her head.
"Emily! Its your bachelorette party!" They protested together.
"I know it's just..." Emily trailed off.
"Just what?" Misty asked.
"Okay, well I just don't know if I should be drinking..." Emily
"...Because?" the girls asked, stupefied.
Emily widened her eyes, raising her eyebrows emphatically. The girls just stared, waiting for her to continue...
"I just... havent had my monthly visitor like I usually do." Emily stated through gritted teeth, "but I havent taken a test yet so please, just keep it quiet and amongst the four of us until I do, please?" She whined. The last thing she wanted was for one of them to get Ian's hopes up for another child and then her just be a couple weeks late. But... she was never late.
"OH MY GOD!"
"EMILY!"
"CONGRATULATIONS OH MY GOD I am so happy for you!" They chorused.
"Shhh! Please!" Emily whined, might as well announce it over the loudspeaker of the bar they were at and tell the whole county.
"We need to find out!" Garcia said excitedly.
"I will...later, lets just... enjoy our dinner and my one drink and sing some karaoke!" Emily protested, rolling her eyes. Figured, they would want to rush her over to the pharmacy and make her pee in a public bathroom to see if she was really pregnant.
"Well... alright, lets do this." Misty said smacking the table. "Who's up for a song while we wait?"
"Garcia?" Emily asked.
"Sure! Only if we sing, "No Scrubs by TLC first. Emily does a killer Left Eye verse!" She said enthusiastically.
"Oh my god, Garcia, I was so white girl wasted that night." Emily said covering her face in embarrassment.
"Yes, yes you were my chocolate haired goddess of all things rap, now move it!" Garcia said shooing her off her chair up onto the stage with the girls.
Emily felt her face turn bright red, as the song began and the girls started to sing the beginning of the song. She chimed in on the chorus waiting for her turn, before taking a deep breath as the other girls stepped behind her, throwing her into the spotlight.
"See, if you can't spatially expand my horizon
Then that leaves you in a class with scrubs never risin'
I don't find it surprisin'
If you don't have the g's
To please me and bounce from here to the coast of overseas
So, let me give you somethin' to think about
Inundate your mind with intentions to turn you out
Can't forget the focus on the picture in front of me
You as clear as DVD on digital TV screen
Satisfy my appetite with something spectacular
Check your vernacular
And then I get back to ya
With diamond like precision
Insatiable is what I envision
Can't detect acquisition
From your friend's expedition
Mr. Big Willy if you really wanna know
Ask Chilli, could I be a silly ho
Not really, T-Boz and all my senoritas
Is steppin' on your Filas
But you don't hear me though"
The crowd cheered loudly as she finished, she grinned picturing Ian's face if he were to have seen her singing. She had never done this kind of thing when she'd known him previously. Their scene, when not in the seedy underworld bars selling weapons to less than reputable characters, was dining in four star restaurants with a dress code.
The song ended and they took their seats once again and the topic turned to the next days events.
"So Emily, who's walking you down the aisle?" Izzy asked curiously.
Emily pursed her lips together. "No one. I mean, I was thinking of asking Kevin tonight but...now, who knows?" she said quietly.
"I thought your parents were coming?" Garcia asked in confusion.
"My mother is, my dad... had other plans. Like always..." she muttered bitterly, taking another sip of the drink in front of her.
"Ooh, sorry I didn't mean to kill the mood." Izzy said hurriedly.
"No, Izzy its not a big deal, really. I'm pretty used to it. This has been a long and painful relationship from the get-go. Its really fine." Emily said.
"I never knew you didn't get along with your dad." Garcia said, frowning.
"Its just... When I needed a parent the most, he was never there. He never had time for me, all he cared about is my mother. 'Emily, leave your mother alone she's working, Emily don't bother your mother she has a migraine, Emily go get your mother a cocktail.'" She said mockingly. "It just ruined any kind of relationship we could have had, because growing up in foreign countries and moving all over the world didn't leave much room for socializing and so I was pretty much a loner. It just would have been nice to have been supported. That's all." Emily said, pausing. "I mean for christ's sake, Ian used to be an international arms dealer and he always made time for Declan growing up!" She said in agitation.
"EMILY." Garcia hissed. Her face paled, Oh god, she thought. 'This is why I hate drinking vodka! Word vomit! She winced as Izzy and Misty choked on their food.
"Oh my god! What?! Who were you two!" Izzy asked wiping her mouth with her napkin.
"Its a lonnnnnnng story. But, in a very very small nutshell. I was a...cop... sent undercover to bring Ian's... business down. And we fell in love. End of story." She said haltingly, stuffing her face with food hopefully to sober herself back up before she revealed anything more classified.
The two girls just stared at her then looked at each other in shock. "Emily that's so... romantic!"
Now she snorted, their relationship had been romantic sure, but that wasn't quite the reaction people gave when they found out she'd fallen in love with a criminal.
An hour or so later they finished up their meal and sang some more karaoke, before calling it a night. On the way home the girls pressured her into getting a pregancy test on the condition they wouldn't pressure her to take it right then and there.
Misty and Izzy said goodnight as Emily and Garcia waved goodbye and walked in the house.
"Well, I'm gonna check on the kids, you go get ready for bed, you have a big day tomorrow!" Garcia said pushing her gently towards the stairs.
"Alright, alright. Make sure you tell them goodnight for me okay?" Emily asked rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand.
"Will do Agent Prentiss." Garcia said. Emily just snorted, smiling and walked up the stairs to her room.
She needed a long relaxing bath. She gripped the pregnancy test in her hand, chewing on her lip.
An hour later she was in the bathtub staring up at the ceiling in shock. This was impossible. She'd thought for sure it had been stress. She was 43 years old. And she was having a baby. A big fat plus signed baby...
The guys walked up the driveway laughing, tonight hadn't been bad Ian had to admit. Spencer had been a good sport. They'd gone to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner and beer, and then Ian had decided that he wanted a new tattoo. One to symbolize his new life, and the people in it. He'd been thrown when Reid at the last second volunteered to get one. He'd gotten a weird coded message in some sort of ancient numerical cypher.
Ian however had decided to get his back piece added onto. The giant celtic cross now had Emily's name going down the center and Declan and Lauren's names under each arm of the cross. And above the cross he'd gotten some clouds and a small portrait of St. Brigid the Irish Patron saint of babies, floating on the clouds with Landen's name and birthday scrawled in the clouds. It was a black and gray and it had taken almost 6 hours.
But as they walked into the house around 2 am and Ian snuck into the bedroom, he looked at it in the mirror and he loved how it looked, and knew it was well worth the pain he currently felt.
His blue eyes flashed to the cupboard under the sink. The trash can was empty and he shut the door standing back up and gingerly put vasoline on the tattoo and as his fingers got greasy the jar slipped and fell behind the toilet. Swearing, he knealt down to pick it up and as he stood up his eyes rested on the sight on the top of the toilet. Just sitting in plain view.
A positive pregnancy test. He opened the bathroom door peering through the open door to the gorgeous brunette that laid on the bed sleeping angelically.
"She's pregnant..." he whispered. He shook his head in disbelief, this was crazy, a miracle maybe even.
Still in shock, he brushed his teeth and crawled into bed, wrapping his arms around her waist gently, trying not to wake her.
"Mmm, Ian?" she stirred.
"Yes, love, its me." He whispered, kissing the top of her head.
"Congratulations." She murmured sleepily, snuggling into his embrace. "You're gonna be a daddy."
