Hunting the Hybrid (Pt. 3: Choosing Sides?)

"Now. now Sonic, remember who rescued you from deep space." Eggman taunted as the blue hedgehog growled, slitted dark green eyes glaring at the human, but never eased his grip on the slightly choking Sharpscale, "I just want you to simply repay me for my generosity."

"Using me to try to conquer the world wasn't good enough." Eggman laughed at the statement as he grinned at Sonic.

"If I remember correctly you did the same in an attempt to eliminate all mankind, or am I wrong?" Sonic eyes narrowed even more in irritation.

"Ah, that's exactly what Lord Scazer wanted out of you, a weapon of destruction." Racko stated, Sonic grip on him loosening earlier as he seemed ready to give the evil genius a similar treatment. Sonic turned around, snarling straight in his face as their nose barely touched, his hands clamping slightly harder than before, forcing the alien to gasp for air knowing that he possibly wouldn't be able to breath for a bit.

"Shut up you, you're still going to pay for breaking the chip." Racko gulped as best as he could, his throat beginning to burn from the lack of oxygen.

"Couldn't you just go back to where you got the information and simply read it from there." Tails stated. He cringed slightly as the hedgehog turned around to face him, teething rubbing together in frustration as he dropped Racko to the ground, allowing him to gasp for air after several minutes of being nearly choked to death, not the best way he wanted his life to end.

"You think it was that simple, fox. Lewis had uploaded all the information on what I'm suppose to be used for and had the computers locked tightly to avoid anyone else from accessing the files. It's nearly impossible to reach it, let alone crack into it. It'll take several days before even getting close to getting it open and I don't have the patience to waste all that time on that when I had the chip." A forced cough caused everyone to look up at the scientist who gave a small grin.

"Sorry to interrupt the conversation about something I had most likely missed or barely heard, but I believe I be taking what I came for. So we can do this the easy way and you come with me Sonic." Sonic crossed his arms and responded.

"Unless you're willing to go to a mutant infested Christmas Island, avoid all the dangerous experiments, and crack the code from an out of date computer in a half blown up base with the possibility of facing Terry once more than I might." Sonic gave a small smirk as Eggman's grin slowly dissolved, leaving his face with a surprised, or possibly shock, expression, "Thought so."

"But the Sharpscales were there during your experimentation, especially me and Lord Scazer." Sonic looked over his shoulder, watching the red reptilian alien stagger back to his hind feet, "We were there when Lewis was still sane. He told us the reason of what he wish for you to turn out to be. Yes, we will use you for our own selfish reasons, but the white rat said that he would promise 'anything' in return. What we want is for you to join us, and if you do something for us, I'm sure Lord Scazer will be nice enough to return the favor in telling you that purpose. All you have to do is agree, oh and don't worry, I have a bit of dragon blood in me so it's sometimes becomes hard for me to lie, especially to someone of the similar blood." Racko gave a toothed grin as he held out a clawed hand, which the blue hedgehog eyed in suspicion.

"Oh yeah, and how do we know you're not just lying to him right now." Amy yelled as she lifted her hammer, ready to lunge at the Sharpscale.

"Sonic, just come with us and will make sure we find a way to get all your memories back." Shadow stated.

"Enough of this, I won't let any of you ruin my chance of world domination," Eggman shouted as his Egg Mobile floated a little higher. He pointed at Racko and continued, "and when I'm done conquering Mobius, I will conquer all the planets that you possess, and then your home planet. Egg Drones 2.5, attack!" The surrounding robot army started approaching and for once everyone else had actually notice the difference in these new batch in comparison to the old ones and even the ones that attacked Westopolis. They were similar in shape and of course coloration, but they were about ten times bigger, maybe as big as the Egg Crusher. No, scratch that, these were way taller and seemed to be equipped with lasers, guns, missiles, and a shield and sword that was placed on their large backs.

"I've been itching for a fight all day. All you pest will fall to the mighty race of the Sharpscales." Racko growled as his claws flexed, his smile widening until it seemed slightly sadistic. He quickly lunged at the group, grasping both Espio and Vector in both hands and hurling them at a group of robots, knocking the mechanical contraptions as easily as a large rubber ball against dominoes. Shadow charged up a chaos spear and threw it at the Sharpscale, which he dodged with ease by jumping to the side as the yellow spear-shaped energy collided with several of the robots behind, making them explode.

This might get interesting. I'll sit back and watch them tear each other apart, then I'll give that Racko a chance to explain himself. He turned around, only to end up facing five newly improved Egg Drones, each pointing its machine gun, laser cannon, or both, at him.

"Surrender, Sonic the Hedgehog, to the future Eggman Empire." they all said at the same time. The blue hedgehog gave a small smirk, crossing his arms against each other as something struck one of the robots in the back of its metal head. They all turned around, finding the same exact person sitting on a high branch and staring down at them with an evil smirk. The robots glanced between the two beings before the one on the ground slowly vanished into thin air, proving to be a fake, but before the Egg Droids could re-aim, a large blue ball struck the center bot, forcing it to explode which led to the other four termination.

"Pathetic." Sonic muttered as he held his left hand to the side. He waited a few seconds and, as expected, watch a small glowing object, illuminating in bright yellow light, fly out of one of the robots and land perfectly into his open palm, with no outside forces applied, "at least they have another Chaos Emerald that I could use."

He glanced back toward the fight, the mythical gem held loosely in his hand as he snickered slightly at Eggman's facial expression as the scientist had witness his newly improved army diminishing at a fast rate, but had never notice the blue hedgehog's actions at all. Shadow jumped to the side as Racko pounced toward him before spinning around, forcing the created creature to move away a few more feet to avoid his thin tail, which ended up having spikes that laid against his scales so well that they seemed to blend in unless needed. The black and red hedgehog retaliated by throwing some recently formed Chaos Spears at his opponent, but nearly singed the green croc instead as Racko jumped to the side, forcing Vector to drop to the ground in a crouch position as the three spears whizzed right over his head, failing his attempted sneak attack.

"Is this all you got, if you're the last hope for this world than its already doomed to be under our control." he stated as he turned to face the group that assembled a feet away in front of him, glancing up slightly to see the nervous human sitting above, hoping his last remaining bots could prove more lucky than their other obliterated comrades. A slow clapping forced everyone to turn their attention toward the blue hybrid, who gave a small smirk as the yellow chaos emerald continued to glow,

"Great fight, great fight, can't see who's side I should choose." Sonic said with mocking excitement as he jumped down to the ground, though he knew that the last part was a lie, already coming to an agreement in his mind, "Well, except for you Eggman, are you sure you have the I.Q. you always state to have." The scientist frowned at the statement as Sonic approached the group on the ground, tossing the emerald into the air and catching it with little care.

"My chaos emerald." Eggman shouted as Sonic snickered at the reaction before turning his gaze to the ones in front of him, focusing more on the Sharpscale.

"Now then," he stepped more toward Racko, causing the alien to grow a grin as the others looked in slight surprise, "where were we?" He grabbed the Sharpscale by the throat, blue eyes widening as he eyed the emerald glowing brighter, and in a flash, the two were gone from sight.

"What was that for?" Racko coughed out, growling in anger as he glared up at the hedgehog who had choked him for the second time today, an hour not even passing between the two.

"I wasn't done choking you yet for your stupid mistake." he responded as he watch the reptilian alien stagger back onto his hind legs, gulping for air to cool his burning neck, "Now, are you going to show me the message or do I have to do it myself." Racko looked down to the round orb Sonic was pointing to, placed on his collar specifically for the message of gaining the hedgehog's assistance.

"Oh yeah, it's a live video with Lord Scazer, so you better behave." Racko stated as he pressed the button on the side of the device.

"I don't take orders from just anyone, lizard breath. He better agree to tell me my original purpose or else I won't be happy."
