One's a Mess, but Two's a Disaster

Scazer stood in the glass encased pavilion that overlooked the round pit-like arena. His red eyes looking down upon the same colored Sharpscale that stood in the 'pit', his tail moving lazily beside him as he watch the tired alien pant heavily. He smirk at the tired expression that Racko had, he did tell him he was having five rounds, he just forgot to add the zero at the end. This will remind the arrogant being to avoid losing any of his men to the enemy. He looked at his royal adviser before returning his attention to the 'punishment'.

" Begin Round 37." The turtle-like Sharpscale nodded before pushing a series of buttons at the control panel that he sat.

Seconds later a robot, about twice the size of Racko, rose from a small component in the pit's floor. Racko sighed, his shoulders sagging slightly in a mixture of irritation and exhaustion before assuming an attack position. Getting to all four, Racko barred his canines to the robot, the spines on his tail rising slightly before he leaped toward the machine.

"This..." Black claws sliced at the metallic shoulder blades of the simulator robot, forcing it to drop to the ground with a clatter.

"is..." The claws sliced through the other shoulder.

"getting..." A red tail swiped at the legs of the robot, sweeping the bot off its feet as hardened spines teared the robotic joints from beneath the thing.

"Annoying." Racko ripped off the head and tossed it across the large training room. He panted slightly, not knowing if it was the 'punishment' tiring him out or the anger that filled him from not being at the small invasion of Casionopolis while his brother was. Taking a deep breath to stop the panting, he turned toward the viewing room above, his tail swaying slowly like an angered cat. "Can I please leave now?"

Scazer snorted at the alien's tone; he never like any soldier with a tone as such, that alone could cause their death on the battlefield by the impatient and cocky nature.

"Your punishment is over halfway done and you are one of my best warriors." he could barely hold back the taunting grin when he saw Racko's snout spread to accommodate a grin, ears perking eagerly to hear what he thought he was hearing.

"However..." the grin dropped almost instantly at that one word, the Racko's tail freezing in mid-swing.

"H-however? However what?"

"I cannot let you go by without some sort of harsh punishment for the lost of Addanc." The dragon watched in amusement as the red one stamped his feet in a slight tantrum, almost like a little kid.

"Oh come on Dad!" he whined. Yep, just like a little kid.

"You should be happy, anybody else who would've done that would have been skinned and given 20 prygel. Now I was going to stop you at 40 because I thought you had enough, but how about we make that 60."

The Sharpscale lord grinned when he heard his son groan in slight desperation.

"What do you mean you're the smart one, I'm the smart one."

"No, you're the annoying one, everyone says that."

"You got that wrong, everyone calls you that idiot."

"Idiot, I'm not the imbecile here you are."

"No you are!"

"No you are!"

"Arrogant!"

"Jerk!"

"Dumbass!"

"Asshole!"

"AAAAARRRRGGGGG!" the two bickering beings began slapping at each others face, their pincher-like hands scratching at the soft red exoskeleton of the other as they continued to yell insults at each other.

"Uh, are we sure these are the right guys." Knuckles stated as the small group of mobians stared at the odd abomination that had crawled out of the ocean minutes earlier, watching in odd silence as the "Lobster Brothers" were in the midst of one of their arguments Snap had warned them about.

(10 Minutes Earlier)

"Alright, so Snap told us that this is where the Lobster Brothers were supposed to be." Knuckles sated as he looked around the area. Tails had left a few seconds after they hopped off, something about the chaos energy and the island's defense system beginning to mess with the Tornado's functions.

"I don't see them; hey, do you think they'll actually look like normal lobsters." Charmy said as he buzzed around Vector's head, both irritating the croc and causing his head to become dizzy.

"Will you stay still, kid? By what the others said about this island it's a total whack-job. All these creatures were failed mutations and other stuff."

"True, let's just hope that they don't attack us on sight like Terry did." Knuckles stated.

"Hey, sorry we're late." The group to see to lobster heads sticking out of the rough water, two pincher-like hands waving at them. Maybe Charmy was right and that they might just be normal...

The second the 'two' lobsters crawled out of the water nearly all the mobians' eyes were widened in surprise, a Vector's mouth hanging slightly open in surprise.

The rough water had gave the illusion of the two lobsters being, well, two lobsters. When the brothers began rising out of the water, they were able to see that the two shared the exact same abdomen, talk about growing a second head. They were split right when they got to the upper part of the body, allowing both lobsters to have their own pair of hands. The water caused their scales to glisten from the occasional green lightning unique to the place.

"Uh, are you going to keep gawking at us or are we going to began the little introduction thing." The one on the right side stated, his arms crossing in slight irritation as the mobians snapped out slightly from their shock.

"Oh, um, I'm Vector," The green crocodile started before gesturing to the others, "the chameleon is Espio, the hyperactive bee is Charmy-"

"And I'm Knuckles." the red echidna stated as he offered a polite handshake to the brothers. The one on the left shook it in a friendly gesture.

"Nice to meet you all. I'm Pinchers.

"And I'm Claws, by the way, I'm the smart one of the two." Pinchers glared at his brother in anger.

"What do you mean you're the smart one, I'm the smart one."

(Present)

And that's how they're little fight started. If it wasn't for the fact that the two creatures were conjoined either Knuckles and Vector would've pulled the two of them apart; although, that was still an option that they were beginning to lean for.

Knuckles's right eye began to twitch in irritation as he watch the fight, growing even more annoyed as the two screamed at each other. Oh why couldn't they have a brotherly love like Sonic and Tails had, never seen those two fight until nearly a week ago.

Another yell was like the sound of the echidna's nerve breaking.

"Will you two shut up.!" Both lobsters froze at the sound of the mammal's shout, Pinchers as close to being on top of his brother as he could with a hand about to strike the others face once more. Seeing that he gained the two's attention, Knuckles continued, "We are on a time limit here and on an island of mutants that will more or less likely attack us on sight. My patience is beginning to wear thin on you two and if you both don't stop arguing and help us find Terry, pray Chaos that I don't chuck you two idiots back into the ocean."

The Lobster Brothers flinched slightly at the threat, scrambling to get back to their feet. They were used to receiving threats based on their bickering, but the echidna's seemed to be more...inescapable they believe the word was. Most mutants that occupied the watery territory of the island were often about the size of Snap or larger. Due to that they were capable of taunting and annoying others and still being able to escape safely into crevices that the other couldn't fit into or simply by out maneuvering them. Maybe it was the fact that they were out of their main element and dealing with people roughly the same size as them seemed to decrease the chance of escape.

"Sorry." They both stated, an apologetic expression on their faces.

"Alright, so where's the fish Snap told us you were bringing for Terry; don't tell me you forgot those?"

"No, no we have them; it's just that Big O is bringing them." That confused the mobians.

"Big O?" Vector repeated, earning a shrug from both the chameleon and the echidna.

The group turned as they heard the sound of water splashing as something made its way out of the ocean also, a large shadow looming over the group.

"Seriously." Egrend turned, orange eyes looking into emerald eyes that clearly gave off the 'are you kidding me right now' look.

"What?" Sonic sighed in disbelief, eyes rolling in mild irritation. This only further confused the orange Sharpscale, "I'm just saying that if we had at least one of the other emeralds than we would be able to track down the others."

Seeing as the other didn't make any connections, Sonic sighed once more before ruffling through his quills, later pulling out the yellow emerald. He smirked when he saw Egrend literally smacked himself in the forehead. How did he forget that the hedgehog had already found an emerald before he came to an agreement with Scazer.

"Geniuses, so smart that they don't notice the obvious things." Sonic stated, earning a growl from the alien as he snatched the mythical gem from the hedgehog's hand.

"Haha, very funny; now how do we track these emeralds?" Egrend wondered to himself as he studied the glowing jewel, paying close attention to the speed of the glow, how bright and dull it got, and how long the emerald stayed bright and/or dull.

"The emerald glows brighter when it's near another." the alien glared at the hedgehog.

"I still can't believe you didn't remind me that you already had an emerald on you." Sonic shrugged.

"Hey, you didn't ask. I still think it'll be best that we-" Blue ears twitch slightly, causing the hedgehog to stop in the middle of his sentence as he tried to find the exact direction that it came from.

Clink, Whoosh, Clink.

"Hey, what's wrong-"

"Shh." he immediately quieted the Sharpscale, his ears gyrating at its attempts, "Don't you here that?"

Clink, Whoosh, Clink.

Egrend's own ears, though smaller to that of the hedgehog's, perked up also, straining to listen for the sound the other was picking up.

"Is that...hover shoes." Green eyes narrowed at the two words, a mischievous grin forming on his face as he quickly pushed the Sharpscale behind a building, "What the heck are you-"

"Shut up and you'll see." He gestured for the alien to stand up against the wall as he did the same, his eyes peering off over the edge just as a yellow blur shot by quickly, leaving a similar trail and a sonic boom. Egrend eyes widened and both interest and shock.

"How the..."

"That's Shadow, looks practically like me except for the black fur with red stripes. Now stop gawking like an idiot and come on, we gotta following him." The hedgehog grabbed Egrend by the wrist as he pursued after his doppelgänger, though at a slower pace.

"Hey Shadow, come in Shadow." Shadow raised his left hand to his ear, pushing the small button on the earpiece as he glanced down at the chaos tracker in the other hand.

"This is Shadow, what's wrong." he stated as he passed by another group of buildings.

"Me and Pinky just 'bout finish cutting off all the neon lights, and it seems like big guy here is beginning to come to his senses so we'll be coming your way shortly. Found the emerald or Sonic yet."

"Nope, I haven't found either yet. Kind of surprise myself that I didn't run into them..." He slowed down slightly as the tracker began to flash brightly rapidly, the device revealing that the chaos emerald was about three buildings from him, "I just got a fix on it." He slowed to a stop at the building, a large casino that took up practically the entire block, "It seems to be in Emerald Casino, heh, coincidence."

"Great, let us wrap up a bit here and-"

"-and watch as we walk away with the emerald in tow." Shadow turned around to see Sonic and the orange Sharpscale standing behind him. The hedgehog had a malicious smirk on his face, arms crossed, while the other had a surprised one, looking down at the device in his clawed hands.

"Wow, his energy lever nearly rivals that of yours."

"Shadow, what's happening who's that."

"Seems like Sonic and his pal decided to show up after all." Shadow replied with a scowl, his hand glowing as he prepared to toss a Chaos spear at the two. The blue one in response readied an Air ball, his hand glowing in preparation.

"The name's Egrend by the way." The alien stated with a slight growl, irritated by simply being known as 'pal' in this situation, "The annoyance you call Racko's older brother."

"I'm guessing you have similar training then, huh."

"No, Racko's trained to be a warrior. I'm trained to be a scientist, but don't think that I don't know how to fight." he replied as his orange tail swished back-and-forth slowly. Although it didn't have the hard spines that layered on his brother's, it was a lot more muscular and flexible.

"Hey, hey, don't forget about us!" an annoying child-like voice shouted as the three turned to face them; although both Sonic and Shadow already knew who it was, nearly responding at the same time.

"Oh you have got to be kidding me."
