The More the Merrier
"I still do not agree to being used as a recon robot. I have been designed as a walking arsenal to destroy the blue flesh-bag, not gather data based on the subject." Omega objected, speaking through the installed communicator as he flew over the vast ocean. He had stopped to refuel at the Crimson Egg Carrier, which happened to be positioned a few miles from the rough waters of the island.
"Oh stop complaining you walking bag of bolts and just do as ordered." Eggman's shouting nearly overcame the thudding of the rain against Omega's metallic body and the robot's jets, "Your system should be able to overcome the island's defense system for nearly two and a half days, but you're on your own after that. Feel free to shoot as some of those mutants; they should prove as much of a challenge as the blue rodent himself." The communicator turned off, indicating the end to the conversation.
"I am no bag of bolts, flabby human." Omega stated, an annoyed tone easily recognizable in the robotic voice. His optics began to get a reading of something moving his way, something large and fast. He began to hover, his right hand changing out with a machine gun, just as the being closed the distant rapidly and shot out from underneath the waves, revealing itself to the robot.
"System scanning...Identification complete. Snap, I presume." Omega stated as yellow eyes studied the bot in caution and curiosity.
"Snap has never seen machine before, but symbol Snap has. Machine is from the human who had traveled to the island about a week ago?" The large prehistoric-like mutant stated as he cocked his head to the side in interest, although he seemed more focused on the gun than anything else, "Snap believes that machine is here to gather data just like the others."
"Others?" The gun lowered slightly, his sensors confirming that the creature before him was non-hostile, at least at the moment. Snap nodded.
"Five mobians, but Snap saw one left island in plane. Others must have stayed behind with Lobster Brothers to seek Terry in order to find lab where back-up data is stored."
"Who is this Terry, and where shall I find him."
"Find Lobster Brothers and others, they should help." With that Snap dived back underneath the water. Omega stayed a few more seconds before flying off toward the island once more, radioing Eggman at the same times.
"Dr. Eggman, I believe you have competition."
"Whoa, he's huge!" Charmy blurted out as the group stared up at Big O.
Basically that was the thought that was going through all of their heads just by the first glimpse.
Big O was a large killer whale nearly twice the crocodile's height. The O in the name possibly referring to the word 'orca', the nickname the specie had. His black and white skin glimmered slightly from the combination of the water and the odd color of the lightning, giving him an almost ominous look. Dark blue eyes watched the smaller mobians intently, his arms crossed against his chest.
"Uh, hi." Vector greeted, wishing to get rid of the awkward silence that enveloped the group. Big O gave a quick nod, acknowledging the greeting, but never spoke in reply.
"Eh, don't mind him." Another voice stated as a krill-like creature crawled up one of the whale's shoulders, "The mutation caused him to become slightly mute. He's the perfect strong silent type guy though. Anyway, my name's Kriller."
Kriller was no larger than Big O's head and only a few inches longer. One of its limbs was shaped like that of a clawed-hand, nearly twice the size as the regular limbs. The tail have the similar appearance of the hook on a grappling hook. Besides the orca being mute and the crustacean's odd appearance, they both seemed to be the least changed from their experiment, maybe even the closest looking to normal mobians.
"Didn't know you were coming?" Pinchers stated in obvious dislike, glaring at the krill who did the same thing in response.
"Well you needed Big O to bring the fish," Big O in response revealed the fishes still flopping in the net made of seaweed and kelp, "and wherever he goes, I go, right?" He nodded, a small smirk growing on his face. Kriller smiled as he looked to the four mobians, "So, Knuckles is it, how about we get this little travel on the road. Even through I've been here for years, this island still makes my scales clatter."
"Yeah, we should get going and find Terry. Who knows how long it'll take to find that flying menace and I'm afraid we're going to run into some sort of trouble in between." Knuckles stated as they headed toward the jungle.
"Alright, let's find Terry, then it's off to that computer room, boys." Vector stated a little too loud.
"Shut up Vector." Everyone, but Charmy stated. The croc gave an apologetic look as they vanished from view by the vegetation. Even they had waited a few more minutes they would have noticed the sound of jets approaching, followed by Omega landing onto the beach.
"That's the last of them." Amy stated as the last building's flashing light began to die down before shutting off.
"And it seems like big guy is coming to." Rouge said as she hovered near Amy. The bat was right, at that moment Grendor was shaking his head in trying to get rid of both the dizzying feeling and the uncontrollable fury that had recently overcame him. He swayed slightly, his large tail slightly damaging a few of the ruins of buildings and his footsteps slightly shook the ground, though it was it was in no comparison as to the shakes he made when he stomped through. those alone had caused some cars to flip and was the reason many civilians had already evacuated the area, all except for Amy, Rouge, and a few remaining G.U.N. soldiers that didn't get killed in the rampage.
"Alright men, aim at the beast and be ready to fire at my command." The leading officer stated as the soldiers aimed at the gigantic Sharpscale. A few tanks came rolling up the trampled street, coming in for a closer range as their turrets aimed at the recovering alien, who gave a worried look when he saw all the things pointing at him.
"Whoa, whoa, wait a minute, don't shoot, don't shoot!" the human looked to find the pink hedgehog running toward him, hands waving in the air in emphasis to the 'don't shoot' part, while the white bat glided beside her.
"Little girl, do you not see the damage the thing did here? I'm ordered to bring down these creatures in any way I can. Our duty is to protect the people from these aliens and you don't want me to shoot it?"
"Alright then, fine, go ahead and shoot Grendor," Rouge joked as she landed beside Amy, a hand going to her waist, "but when Sonic comes hunting you guys down and murders all your love ones, don't come running to us." She smirked when she noticed the soldiers giving each other a worried look, even the captain was beginning to show a bit of doubt on it. He was obligated to protect the planet, but he wanted to live, too.
"Fine, I'll try to tell the others that this alien is on the reserve list. No bullets will be fired at this being and any will that do will be severely punished. Better not make me regret this."
"Yeah, yeah, is you want to do some good head over to Emerald Casino on the other side of town." He nodded before barking out the orders to the others. They immediately jumped into the G.U.N. issued jeeps and began driving off that way, but it would take nearly a three-fourths of an hour before they arrived there, even at the high-speed that they were going in.
"Thank you." Grendor stated, pawing at one eye as he glanced down at the two mobians below.
"Wouldn't want Sonic killing us, but now how are we going to get there?" Amy stated as she looked over to Rouge for an answer.
"We could fly over there. It's really warm and breezy today which is perfect for flying, and it just happens to be blowing in the direction we need to go."
"Even if you flew us it would possibly take nearly half an hour before we get there and I don't even think Shadow can handle Sonic and the other guy for too long." Rouge glanced up at the black Sharpscale who was now licking at a cut that was made from a part of the glass of a building. She smirked as aquamarine eyes looked toward Amy.
"Who said I was the one flying?"
"Humph, well that was a very rude welcome if I do say so myself."
"What do you want Bokkun?" Sonic angrily stated as he looked at the hovering black bot, emerald eyes narrowing on the small annoyance. Even during his time working for the evil scientist he had found a strong disliking for the robot. Although both Bokkun and Decoe were irritating to be around, he was capable of ignoring them or giving them a quick glare that made them be quiet and move far away from him.
But Bokkun, he didn't know if it was the sound of his voice that made his ears flicker in irritation and teeth grit, or if was the over-cocky personality and the exploding TVs he carried. Though, if Bokkun was here, it was most likely to give a message, but why would he come alone.
"Dr. Eggman wants the chaos emerald, and..."
"And you plan on getting it by yourself. Please, some of the little ones can tear you to pieces and most of them don't have any claws, or teeth." Egrend stated with a slight laugh.
"No, but my pal is." The small clinking sound of metal hitting pavement was heard by the ground as it grew louder and louder as it got closer.
"Tracktron mission objective: collect chaos emerald. Side mission: protect Bokkun." A mechanical voice was heard as a robot jumped into view from the building on the opposite side, landing on its hind legs while hunched over slightly. Two pair of mechanical wings folded slightly against grey metal, red optics scanning the group. Tracktron, as the thing stated, was a few inches higher than Egrend even while hunched over. Three sharp claws were attached to each arm, a small rocket launcher on the right one. Its legs were arched slightly near the feet like a feline's and each foot had retractable wheels, which most likely increased Tracktron's speed. A thick demon-like tail swished side to side lazily, the very tip having a small hole on it. The red Eggman enigma was clearly branded on one of the shoulders.
"And I was wondering if the idiot will show up again. Hiding behind his inventions and lackeys as always." Sonic stated, glancing slightly between Shadow and the two robots that stood on either side of him and the door in front of him.
Quickly forming two air balls, the blue hedgehog threw them at the others. Shadow and Bokkun were slightly surprised by the sudden attack, one crossing his arms to take the impact while the other flies up a bit higher. The two balls hit the pavement, causing the dust from the mini-explosions to fly up in the air and blinded the others a little. Egrend quickly realized the distraction as he bounded after the hedgehog who had zipped by the other to get to the door.
"Nice move." the orange alien stated as he quickly closed the door, turning the lock just as he noticed Shadow recovering quickly and Tracktron already approaching, "Now all we have to do is find the...chaos...emerald." Egrend blinked as he looked around before saying.
"Okay, that might be harder than I thought."
