I am so so so so so so sorry! I know I need to update more, and I think now I will. I'm starting a Youtube series that requires me to be on this site a lot, so I'll be here to write as well. I've had a lot on my plate and lost my will to write for a while. I think I remember where I'm going with this, as well as "My Past, Present, and Future," which I may end up reworking to make the plot more understandable. Again, I am so sorry for abandoning you all and I hope you can forgive me for this short chapter. I will put another one up soon to make up for it. Also, Poke-Yaoi-FanGirl was the one who guessed what Rei is correctly. If you haven't completely given up on me, I'll write something for you. Maybe? ... I'm sorry.

Rei giggles nervously. "W-What're you talking about, Kyo-kun? You make it sound like you wanted me dead," she says, trying to turn the blame to him. Her old friend isn't having any of it, and out of the corner of her eye, she can see the other two eccentrics aren't either. Time for a different tactic.

"Listen, Kyo-kun, I know it's hard to believe, but I never died. I had to leave to get better treatment and... I've only now been able to come back," There. A pretty decent lie, and honestly, it was more like a half-truth. She really didn't want to tell them the whole truth, and they probably wouldn't believe her if she did anyways. Well, maybe the two crazy ones would, but she needed to convince Kyohei.

"Rei-chan... You're lying." Shit. He was as sharp as ever.

"Oh really? Then what's the truth?"

Both the man and the woman she had woken up to were staring at her now, studying every feature. She shifts uncomfortably, avoiding eye contact now. Might as well get this out now and deal with the consequences later. "F-Fine! I... I did... die... but I came back."

The two in front of her turn to each other. "I told you so! She's so an alien, and her dead corpse was revived by their advanced technology!"

"No, if that were the case, she would be rotting and she would smell awful!"

Rei clears her throat. "Excuse me, I'm still here." They ignore her.

"Shut it, you two, I'm trying to drive!" A dirty blond calls out from the driver's seat, silencing the two for only a moment before starting their discussion again, quieter now. Kyohei sighs, turning more in his seat.

"Rei-chan... I... I don't..."

"I don't know what to say either, Kyo-kun. I'm sorry that you had to see me. I was supposed to keep a low profile, but... I just got caught up I guess."

The two arguing suddenly turn towards her, their hands on their knees and staring at her intently. "So, do you have a mission you came back to do?" The girl asks.

"Or are you just here to haunt this world forever?" Rei shudders, hoping that it doesn't come to that.

"I have a mission, yes. However... it's supposed to be secret... that's what they said..."

"They? Who're they? Ooh, were you given your super secret mission by some mysterious guys in the clouds?"

"Maybe she's come back to get revenge on the one who caused her death! It's a classic plot, where the vengeful spirit won't give up until she gets what she wants!"

Rei sighs, glaring at them. "You know, it's pretty rude to try and figure out the very reason for a person's existence while you haven't even introduced yourselves." They glance at each other with a surprised look. Apparently these two thought that this was completely normal. Great.

"I'm Erika Karisawa, but since you're a friend of Dotachin, you can call me Erika-chan if I get to call you Rei-chan." Rei nods. Honorifics weren't really an issue with her anymore, so it didn't matter what they called her. "And that's Walker Yumasaki."

"I don't need an honorific though! Just Walker is fine!" The boy chimes in, grinning widely.

"So," the black clad girl leans forward even further on her elbows, getting closer and closer to Rei's face. Her eyes gaze into hers, as if she can see straight through her. The gleam in her eyes brings a strange apprehension to Rei, and she leans back instinctively. "are you sure you can't tell us your mission?"

Rei licked her lips then winces at the action. The moisture made them tingle, even after being soaked by the rain. "I suppose... I can tell you vaguely. But you are not allowed to tell a soul. I'll get in enough trouble telling you four." Erika and Walker leaned in enthusiastically. The girl huffed, resigned. "I'm here... to try and get Izaya and Shizuo to be... friends."

Woah, is that possible? In canon, probably not. But this is fanfiction, I do what I want~
