Obedience School is Useful
"Chapter 18: Annabeth Does Obedience School…" Persephone read. Hades and Persephone suspect that it has something to do with Cerebus.
"Do you think you can get the the Stolls to heel?" Katie asked innocently, getting "Heys!" from the two of them.
(We stood...NO LIVING.)
"Well." Leo said sarcastically. "That didn't sound absolutely creepy at all." He, along with any others, wonder why the mortals didn't find that strange.
(It was...the plan.")
"You let Percy make a plan?" Thalia asked in shock. "I thought that was Annabeth job! And I thought Percy's plan were to suicidal to follow!" Percy pouted at that.
("The plan...feel better.")
"Well, we don't really blame for what happen with the Stretcher." Annabeth said to Percy. "It was my fault for leading us into the damn store. But you used your head and saved us, rather than try to be quick about and risk losing. If I was in that position, I would make him lose his guard and risk trying to kill him with my knife."
She really would. The children of Athena is known for their intelligence, not their patience. She wouldn't even think about outsmarting him, just try to attack him. Or is it the part of her that felt that painful stretch talking?
(I slipped...is Chiron?")
Hades slapped his hand on his forehead. "He's not going to like that."
(He leaned...a centaur?")
"You better not say yes." Hades muttered. "Last time someone did that, Charon got into a rant that everyone in the underworld to hear. Though it was excellent torture for the people in the field of punishment." Persephone wince, remembering the rant. Who know Charon could be so loud.
("N-no." "Sir,"...me: CARE-ON.")
"He's really sensitive about the topic." Chiron said, shaking his head. He could understand the underworld worker. He sometimes get frustrated when someone mistakes his name for Charon's.
("Charon." "Amazing...dead ones?")
"That really freaked us out." Percy said to the others. "The question, I mean." It would've freak anyone out, alive or dead.
(His question...a fastball.)
Percy gasped and would've double over if Annabeth wasn't on his lap. "Seriously, that was just an expression! I actually didn't feel that!"
Naruto feels like the fates love to toy with Percy, even with the talk he gave to them during the group's visit in the leaf village
(I looked...the bathtub.")
"Drown in the bathtub?" Travis asked the Satyr incredulously. "Really Grover? That's the best lie you can think of?" Grover blush at that. He was put on the spot!
("All three...mildly impressed.)
"How can he believe that such a lie?" Annabeth moaned. "Like I would take a bath with the two of you." Grover and Percy turn green at the thought of bathing with each other.
"But you do bathe with Percy sometimes Annie." Thalia added in slyly. The two of them blush heavily while the others teased them relentlessly. Poseidon groans and rubs his head. He does not need to hear this.
("I don't...few centuries.")
"You have to pay to enter the underworld?" Frank asked incredulously. Who in Hades would be prepare for that?
"I agree that is really stupid." Said Ayame "Naruto has an army of Shinobis and Kunoichis and Samurai who died in battle from all the wars. They swore loyalty to him same as the civilians. That is around 2 million soldiers and combined that to the demon army Naruto could take over anything he wants." The Olympians paled at that. They didn't know that Naruto has that big of an army.
"But he doesn't because he hates unneeded deaths. Harashima, Madara, Minato who is Naruto's father, Kushina who is his mother, and the other kages are the leaders in the army. They are the generals." Fuu said. The others are wondering if the little girl Kushina got her namesake from Naruto's mother.
"He is a good leader and he listens to suggestions from his troops, no matter what rank they are he'll listen. And yes, Kushina is named after her grandmother." Yugito said. Before anyone could ask any questions, Persephone kept reading.
("Oh, but...so close.)
"Look like your luck is finally coming up." Leo suggested, making all the demigods groan. All of them know, NEVER to jinx your luck. It'll come to bite you in the butt.
(Then Charon...dyslexic, lad?")
Percy's friends groan once again. "Hades, how the hell do you put up with him?" Naruto asked. Hades groans. He don't really want to talk about his greedy worker.
("No," I…his throat.)
"I nearly jumped out of my hooves when I heard him growl." Grover said, shivering at the memory. Why is everything in the underworld scare and/or deadly? Oh right. Because it's the land of the dead.
(Immediately, all...their wristwatches.)
"They easily panic when Charon is frustrated." Hades said. "He has that kind of aura that agitates people." Persephone nodded in agreement, as well as Demeter.
("Leave while...elevator door.)
"Okay, you really made him angry." Persephone pointed out. "The spirits only react like that when he gets angrier."
("It's a...to offer.")
"Ooh, bribery." Hermes said with a grin. "I likey."
"Charon knows not to accept the bribe." Hades said firmly. Annabeth, Percy, and Grover share a look. Hades is going to be pissed.
(Charon's growl...got there?")
Hades growl. "If he accept those bribes…" Before he could say any of his torture, Persephone rub his shoulder to calm him down. Hades calmed down immediately after that. Only Persephone can keep him calm.
("A lot...hard work.")
Hades groan. "Did you really have to go in that direction?" Now Charon would never shut up in the future.
"Quick question why did you three bring that up with Charon?" asked Naruto after taking a swig of sake. Percy told him is that so they could bribe him easier, to get to the underworld. Naruto nodded in understanding.
("Oh, you...come cheap?")
"He's got a point on that." Zeus said, siding with the worker. "Italian suits don't come cheap."
"The only reason you're saying that is because you're fascinated with them." Hades said, rolling his eyes. Poseidon, Hera, Hestia, and Demeter nodded in agreement to that. They've seen his collection of those suits in his temple.
("You deserve...Good pay.")
"Don't encourage him!" Hades moaned, rubbing his face. He hates it when Charon ask for a raise. Even though he's the gods of riches, doesn't mean he control all the money in the world.
(With each...the counter.)
Hermes grin. "Poseidon, can I take this boy as my apprentice?"
"NO!" Poseidon, Sally, and Annabeth shouted at once. They will not let Percy be train by Hermes. That is the definition of chaos.
(Charon glanced...to Hades.")
"Don't you dare!" Hades yelled at Percy. "If you do, I'll rip your skeleton out of your body and put it with the other guards!" Percy paled a little at that while Annabeth, Reyna, Thalia, and Poseidon tighten their grip on their weapons.
(He sighed… "Come along.")
"I am going to have a talk with that man in the future." Hades muttered angrily. Darkness was swirling around him and the demigods felt like death or torture is coming to them soon. Persephone put a hand on his shoulder and whisper to him some calming words, calming him down. All the demigods gave a sigh of relief. Out of all the gods, they are afraid of Hades the most.
(We pushed...grumbling, "Freeloaders.")
"You know more people would be happy and not trying to run away or change radio stations if you let them pass on." Frank said looking upset.
"You'll find out what he says about that." Percy said.
(He escorted...feeling generous.")
"Okay, that's cruel!" Hazel said, fuming a bit. "It's not their fault they don't have the coin to enter! Most of them didn't even know they needed coin."
"You would be surprised at death, trust me." Naruto said.
("Oh," she...said. "Ha.")
"Never underestimate Percy." Frank advised. "Otherwise, it'll come to bite you back on the butt." Octavion grumble a little, remembering when he thought Percy wasn't coming back from the quest to get the eagle.
(I got...dizzy feeling.)
Percy suddenly felt droozy and dizzy. "I hate this book. So much." Annabeth held him up, feeling sympathy for her boyfriend.
(We weren't...and despair.)
Annabeth, Percy, and Grover shiver, remembering those eyes. Everything in the underworld is scary. All except for elysium though.
(The floor...gilt edges.)
Percy shivered, remembering his experience in that river. Then his eyes widen in horror. He would have to feel the burn of the river styx all over again. He. Really. Hates. The. Fucking. Fates! And he's real sure that those three play with him for entertainment.
("The River...ask me.")
"That's sad." Katie said. "Throwing away your hopes and dreams. And from what we read, a lot of people throw away a lot of them. I hope I don't."
"I think every mortal and demigod doesn't." Rachel said, with all of them nodding in agreement.
"Yes it is but if you notice, it goes around nine times. So you are going through the nine levels of hell and seeing all those forgotten hopes and dreams only makes it worse." Naruto said
(Mist curled...my hand.)
"HA I knew you two liked each other since the beginning." Grover said grinning like a mad man. Annabeth hit the back of his head while she and Percy are blushing. They couldn't deny it, since it is true. And they do have the truth god in the room.
(Under normal...to confront.)
"Yeah, not the thing you would want to think about." Naruto said. Thinking negative, especially in the underworld, doesn't help anything at all.
(The shoreline...you, godlings.")
"Wait, who is old three face?" Leo asked. Nearly everyone face faulted at the question. None of them answered it, deciding to let Leo figure it out for himself.
(The bottom...pay raise.")
"He seems nice." Hazel said sarcastically, but Percy merely shrug.
"One of the better people I've met during the quests I go to." Percy said. That did not made Poseidon happy at all.
(He counted...against them.")
"And my husband is harsh when he needs to be." Persephone said. "But fair as well. He's not bias with people, even with his own kids or with his siblings' children."
("There's a...King Minos)
Annabeth, Percy, Grover, and Nico growl at the mention of that man. They really hate him for what he tried to do.
(Thomas Jefferson...I said.)
"It really is." Poseidon said, shaking his head. "That way too harsh for most of those people. At least give them a mix of elysium and asphodel."
Hades scowl. "The underworld isn't a place for fun."
"But you don't have to make it that gloomy." Naruto pointed out. "I'm not saying do a full scale decoration, but don't give the dead a place where they would slowly forget everything, just wandering. Some, if not most of them, don't really deserve that kind of fate." Everyone nodded to that. Hades merely huffs, but he did think about it.
("Not as...a cliff.)
Artemis scowl in disgust. "That man deserves any punishment Hades gave him." She said, although it sounded childish. Naruto chuckle a little, but agrees with his adopted daughter. All the hunters have their grip on their bows.
"I wish he was alive long enough for us to hunt him down." One of the hunters said. They would've unloaded on him.
(I said...with anticipation.)
"She still hates you." Nico pointed out, getting the son of Poseidon to roll his eyes. Thank you for pointing out the obvious, Percy thought in his head.
("But if...that way.")
"Hey!" All of the humans say, even the hunters of Artemis. They aren't stubborn!
"Really? Some humans are stubborn. I should know because when I was mortal, I was stubborn as hell." Naruto said. Fu, Yugito, and Ayame nodded. It's true. Naruto was stubborn with a lot of things, even dying.
(We got...a Rottweiler.")
"ADHD?" Will asked Percy. "Or just shock?"
"Shock." Percy answered the son of Apollo. "I didn't expect a pureblooded rottweiler. I kinda expected a black mastiff." Some of them look at him questionably, wondering why he thought it would look like a mastiff.
(I'd always...being dead.")
Sally whimpers a little at that while Poseidon and Athena tighten their grip on their thrones.
(The dog's...A plan.")
"I'm afraid of what the plan actually is." Chris admitted. The others are as well while Percy rubs his head sheepishly, remembering the failed plan.
(We moved...eyeballs rattled.)
"AH!" Percy yelled, holding his eyes. He then starting from every single curse word he could think of. Some are staring in amazement, some are blushing, and some are covering the younger ones ears. Mainly baby Percy and Kushina's ears.
While Naruto is just laughing his ass off. "Man you and Tayuya would get along just fine." Naruto takes another swig of sake.
"Why do you say that?" asked Hermes
"Tayuya has a very foul mouth and language in the whole world, but she never curses in front of kids she knows better." Naruto answered taking another swig of sake.
("Can you...said weakly.)
"That's your plan?" Jason asked incredulously. "How are you not dead?" He sounds shocked and disappointed, causing some glares to be aim at him.
"I get what he's doing." Rhea said. "Since Cerberus is a dog, you can distract it by playing with it."
Hades snorted. "In order to tame Cerebrus, you need to take lessons at obedience school." Grover and Percy inwardly sigh in relief, glad that Annabeth did took obedience school. Annabeth is glad that she took the class as well.
(I waved...River styx.)
Everyone face faulted. The plan was good, but the execution was bad. They doubt Cerberus would go in the River styx just for that stick.
"So much for your plan." Thalia said sarcastically. She wonder how they'd pass Cerberus.
(Cerberus glared...he's hungry.")
"Take those ten seconds and run." Poseidon said in worry. Sally had a grip on her skirt, biting her lip.
("Wait!" Annabeth...I thought.)
"Uh-oh?" Annabeth demanded, glaring at Percy. "What do you mean uh-oh?" Percy paled, trying to find the right words without offending her.
"I think I know why he was nervous and said that." Ayame said. "He didn't really hear what you said or know what you were doing, and he thought you guys were going to die." Annabeth calmed down after that, making Percy sigh in relief.
(Annabeth produced...we were.)
Everyone else was the same way, except for Percy, Annabeth, and Grover who was on the quest. Was Annabeth telling a guard dog of the underworld, to sit?
Hades was the first to get out of his shock. "I doubt that would work. Cerberus takes his duties seriously." Pretty soon, he's not going to that much faith in his workers.
(All three...dog biscuit.)
"Sorry." Percy squeaked, seeing her glare. "I was just worried. Didn't think that it would work." Annabeth glare at him a little more. When he pull outs the puppy dog look, she melted in the look and snuggle into him.
"That look is a weapon." Annabeth mumbled. The girls of camp-half blood and camp jupiter agree with Annabeth.
"That look has been around since our time." Ayame said looking at her husband with a bit of a glare. He gave her the kit look, which melted the glare away and she snuggled into him more.
(But instead...of tires.)
Hades's eyes widen and his jaw dropped. "Impossible." Hades said in disbelief. He's going to have a talk with all of his employees when he gets back.
(Annabeth said...Annabeth's feet.)
"Annabeth scarier than a giant three headed guard dog." Leo said in awe. "I mean, I knew Annabeth is terrifying, but now I know that even Cerberus is terrified of her."
Leo is lucky that he's holding Piper. Otherwise, Annabeth would've thrown her knife at him.
("Good boy."...over it.)
Aphrodite and Persephone shiver in disgust. "Gross." Aphrodite remarked, with Persephone agreeing with her. They could imagine the drool on the ball.
(She turned...pretty sure…")
"That reassured pretty well." Grover said sarcastically. He yelped when a knife was wedged between his legs.
(Grover and...sit again.)
Annabeth growled at him again, making Percy shoot his hand up in surrender. "I thought might do it as a joke, to get back at me for the stretching thing."
Annabeth look away a little. She won't lie to herself, that thought briefly cross her mind when Percy and Grover was moving from under it.
(We made...metal detector.)
Everyone cheered while Poseidon and Athena let out a breath of relief. They got out safely.
("How did… "Come on!")
"Ouch!" Grover yelled when a shoe hit him in the head. It was from Aphrodite.
"That's for interrupting a story!" Aphrodite said, scolding Grover. Some of the them laugh at that.
(We were...Let's go.")
Annabeth look down, remembering that she couldn't keep that promise. Percy, not liking the sad look that dawn Annabeth's face, have an idea in his head.
"Hey, next time when we get the chance, we can go back to the underworld and visit Cerberus." Percy suggested to his girlfriend. Annabeth look up at him in shock and happiness.
"Really?!" Annabeth exclaimed. When he nodded, she adorn a huge smile and hugged him tightly. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" The demigods at the greek camp look at her in shock. Never had they seen Annabeth act so...girly.
"No, you are not!" Poseidon and Athena said together. Annabeth and Percy look at them with eyebrows raise.
"And why not?" Annabeth asked her mother. Athena look at her as if she asked why can't they play with dynamite.
"Because it's dangerous!" Athena said, not caring that she's agreeing with Poseidon. Percy and Annabeth shared a look. They are going to the underworld the first chance they get.
(Grover and...Magic detected!")
"Okay, you shouldn't have brought your sword." Nico said, pointing to Percy. "Or you hat." He pointed to Annabeth. "Or those shoes." He pointed to Grover.
All three of them pouted, though they did agree with the shoes part. They nearly killed Grover.
(Cerberus started...really bite!")
"He had the right concept, just the wrong toy." Naruto reasoned. "Luckily, Annabeth a rubber ball in her pack. Speaking of which, why was a rubber ball in her pack?" He turn to Annabeth, who shrugged. She didn't thought there would be a ball in there either.
(I wasn't...new friend.)
"And that's the end." Persephone said, closing the book. She then turn to Hades. "Do you want to read now, Lord Hades?"
Hades smiled. "Okay dear." He can never turn down a request from Persephone. When she pass him the book, he turn to the next page.
"Chapter 19: We find out the truth, sort of…"
Spirit: And that's the end.
Phoenix: So War you like working with us?
War Doctor: Yes I do you guys are great and can't wait to see what the future brings.
Phoenix: Neither can I but this is going to be a good team.
