Ithaca, age 9.
I traveled down to the docks early in the morning with my father. our horses were used to the sea air and greedily sniffed the scent of salt water in as we neared the Cair Paravel sea port, I noticed my best friend Roweena. She is half dryad and half centaur. Her father is Orion, captain of guard. She saw me wave to her and she galloped as fast as she could. "Ithie!" She yelled as we embraced. "Rowie!" I laughed. "So, how is my favorite Narnian princess?"
"Good. And how about you?" I slung my arm around her shoulder. She had now taken her human form. "Eh, the normal me." I laughed at her response. "You crazy girl!" I playfully shoved her. "Guess who's here?" She smirked. My eyes grew huge. She laughed as I ran full speed to the wood docks, the sound planks under my feet.
Markeb POV
I sat myself on a giant crate that had been just lowered from my father's ship. Being from the lone islands, I was lucky enough to come to the mainland. most of my friends whose fathers were also seafaring men had only been to the ports in Glasswater. But me, no, our ships regularly docked at Cair Paravel. What an honor? Definitely. I was reading a book on the tides. To my left I heard laughter. But not just any laughter. Girlish laughter. Rowenna and Ithaca. Wait, ITHACA!? I heard her footsteps running towards my direction. What should I do? Ignore her till she gets to me or lift my head up to greet her? 'Dang Mark, you can be so stupid. So she's a princess. You guys are friends and you might have a crush on her, acknowledge her!' the voice in my head said. I lifted my head and waved to her. She got me but as she neared me, the plank that she was about step on was rotted. "Ithaca, wait!" to late. the plank gave way and Ithaca fell from my view into the deep ice cold waters of the Eastern Sea. No biggie for normal people, but Ithaca's not normal, Ithaca can't swim.
